2024 Review for Home Depot
DO NOT LET HOME DEPOT ANYWHERE NEAR YOUR HOME IMPROVEMENT PROJECT! YOU WILL BE SORRY IF YOU DO! Please take the time to read this review, before you trust Home Depot with any project in your home. It is my sincere hope to save as many people as I can from making the same mistake that my wife and I made.
We spent a total of $45,000.00 dollars having our kitchen remodeled with Home Depot West Springfield store. We shopped around and found that Home Depot had the best price. If I knew then, what I know now, I would have gladly spent $50,000.00 and taken my business any place else and we would have been 100% better off.
We walked into the West Springfield Home Depot at the very beginning of May 2024. I should have gone with my gut when the inept kitchen designer lost our entire order of cabinets, countertops, appliances, faucet, sink, backsplashes, and flooring, that it took him, my wife, and I, hours to pick out. He did not even take any responsibility for this horrible mistake. He blamed the mistake on their computer system. At first, he pulled up another order and told us that it had to be what we picked out. And yes, we had to go through the whole process of finding and picking out everything all over again. I should have walked away and taken my business somewhere else as soon as he lost our order.
We told him that our daughter was pregnant, and it was critically important that the kitchen be finished by the latest, the beginning of September, because she was moving back home, and she was due to have the baby in September. This no good, dishonest man said that would not be a problem. He gave us his word that the work would be done by that time. He said, "I give you my word, that will not be a problem."
It ended up being a major problem. I believe that attitude reflects leadership. The leadership of Home Depot, from the corporate office down to the management of individual stores, care nothing about their customers. I tried talking with leadership on every level. I asked for the contact information for members of the corporate leadership team and was denied any information for any member of corporate leadership. I requested compensation for all the pain and suffering my wife and I were forced to endure. I was lied to and told that Home Depot had a policy regarding compensation. I was then told that the policy was that the corporate office would not discuss compensation until all the work was completed. After the work was finally completed, more than a year later, I was told that the Home Depot has no policy regarding compensation. I was told that compensation was left to the store manager, Tony. I was just being strung along the entire time. So, the person that was involved, the entire time and well aware of everything that had been going wrong, cabinets being delivered damaged, over and over again, poor planning, and lots of wrong information from the kitchen designer, the list goes on and on, this was the person that was responsible for deciding compensation.
This is such a conflict of interest; I don't know where to start. The store manager is responsible for the bottom line of the store. Compensation takes away from the bottom line. The manager at the West Springfield Home Depot is a man with no honor, or integrity. The bottom line was his only priority, and doing the right thing was never even a consideration for him.
My wife and I started this process in the West Springfield Home Depot, in the first week of May of 2023. The work was not completed until the end of May of 2024. Even the most reasonable person would consider this to be way beyond reasonable. This dishonest, dishonorable, lowlife of a man offered $500.00 cash as compensation for how badly he and his store messed up. When we refused, he then offered an additional $300.00 store gift card. When I again, reached out to try and contact corporate leadership, I was told by a woman named Porchia, she reached out to her supervisors and was told that the corporate leadership will not get involved and what the store offered for compensation is the final offer.
This is the same woman that told me, on a recorded line that was recorded by them, that she could not believe that the compensation that was offered was so low. She stated that she was a homeowner, and she understood. She even said that she would feel the same. But, at the end of the day there was nothing she could do to help me. She couldn't do anything to make them do the right thing, there was no appeal process, and she could not give me any contact information for anyone in a corporate leadership position.
These are facts; no one in the Home Depot corporation cares about customer service enough to consider listening to a customer that is asking for help. They only care about taking your money. The West Springfield Home Depot is a glaring example of the dishonor, deceit, and unethical behavior, that is a reflection of the Home Depot as a corporation
