I don’t normally leave reviews but this specific incident made writing one an obligation. Now I’m going to start off by saying that I do not condone individuals shoplifting in the slightest nor have I ever been accused of such. Not only am I a small business owner but my friend who I was with during this encounter also runs his own business that has done quite well and trust me I hate nothing more than when I get scammed so to have experienced this from not only Home Depot but, from what I understand to be, a police officer is unacceptable. Especially when this officer watched me as I scanned my military discount code before paying for my item. Now is that anyway to treat someone that is apart of the military? Because respectfully, I do not. So my friend and I visited this Home Depot around 9pm on 08/26 as we were passing through town on our way home. We have never been to this specific one in the past and so we wanted to check it out to see if they offered any products that the stores around us don’t carry. Needless to say we found quite a few items that we have not seen before and so we were excited to purchase them. As we were finishing up our shopping, we made our way to the garden section because I wanted to see if they had these huge flowers similar to ones that Lowe’s carries, etc. Not long after we walked into the garden section this very odd man comes speed walking into the garden section after already seemingly following us around the store for some time. He tried acting like he was shopping and came to the garden section to see if he could cash out there when in reality it was later proven that he was checking to make sure the door was closed because he had assumed that we were going to try to steal the items in our cart. Not long after we walk into the indoor garden section to where the seeds are. Now as I’m looking at the seed selection this same man comes in, pretends to look at a product, takes out his phone and says loud enough for us to hear “just stay put for a minute”. Now my friend and I have done nothing wrong or given any indication that we were going to shoplift whatsoever, unless they view casually walking down each aisle and leisurely shopping suspicious. At this point my friend and I were highly annoyed by this man prejudging us and suspecting us of theft for no given reason so we decided that we didn’t want to give our money to this store or spend a second longer in said store so we decided to leave our full cart in an aisle and just purchase the package of flower seeds I picked out. The man followed us all the way to the other end of the store to the register and then stood in the doorway while an employee stood on the other side. By this point the man turned up his radio obnoxiously loud enough for us to hear trying to intimidate us and indicate to us that he is of some authority as if we care or that it’ll make us anxious. Let me just say you can’t intimidate someone who’s done nothing wrong in the first place. Finally as we were walking out the man decides to make a comment over his radio about how we left our cart then proceeded to repeat himself in a mocking manner to my friend and I about how we left our cart as if he caught us or something. To finish it off he decides that it’s appropriate to comment about my friend’s height, and just be flat out rude. Of course my friend nor I are going to take that kind of behavior so some choice words were said on our end as well but they were more than justifiable given this man’s preconceived notion of us as, what would’ve been the case if not for him, paying customers. I can and will make this a legal matter and directly point out the harassment my friend and I were forced to endure during this visit. Not to mention due to this man’s preconceived notion of our characters I have every right to sue for defamation of character as he wrongfully caused us distress by this experience. I feel disgusted by this stores lack of respect and also their terrible ability to spot out individuals who are stealing as they chose to accuse innocent individuals.

Went to Home Depot 4/16/25 to purchase all materials to add on pavers on my backyard. The main item needed was a online order. We went to customer service desk George had helped us out he was friendly with a smile. So unfortunately the item was out of stock we had ask if we could of purchase the item in store, because it was available. He said to bring the item so he could check if it was the same product. We was so excited because George was able to price match the item. We left very happy satisfied customers but now we could start & finished the project with all the materials. Thank to George who made it happen. We need a George in every Home Depot to make a smooth and easy

Bought the grill I've been eyeing but was too expensive $450 but this store has them on CLEARANCE!! $225. Took 2 evenings to build And 2 people but so worth it. The Char-Griller double grill gas/ charcoal with a side burner.

One of the only Home Depots I have been to where the employees don't hide from you and are very helpful. They didn't have the power tools I needed in stock, but I left with some stuff from the garden center as they have a lot of beautiful plants.

Google
Ok I can always find everything I need but the experience of workers needs to get better they’ve sent me to find one item in three different locations by three different workers. Get it right then the next issue was one looked high and gave me broad locations. Get better training in locating items around the store. Please get better workers!!!

Google
Great place. I've been here a million and one times in the last year alone. The associates at this location are consistently helpful! Great variety of products here and has a much better layout than the Enfield location. Customer care associates are phenomenal as well- they've been very helpful in complex situations.

Google
Attention HD, when a corporation like you runs the little guy mom&pop shops out of business, honor your obligation to keep items in stock for the communities you've fleeced. Time to smarten up, and clean up your store, look at these photos taken recently... Constantly empty fastener drawers! The stores you eliminated used to stock all this stuff in volume.... And look at the condition of your merchandise displays!

A wealth of material for yet another project all found within the same place. One person from the electrical supplies department made my day on June 12th: Parker was very knowledgeable and willing to help me find exactly what I needed with a genuine smile and attention!

Yelp
I will be spreading the word as far and wide as I can get it- the hoops my 77 year old father just had to jump through to get a veterans discount- deplorable. He has his proof with him in his wallet- that should be all it takes people. You can only get it if you have a credit card here ... you can only do it on homedepot.com.... and on and on. That's absolutely disgusting. Off to Facebook I go to spread the word.

Yelp
2024 Review for Home Depot DO NOT LET HOME DEPOT ANYWHERE NEAR YOUR HOME IMPROVEMENT PROJECT! YOU WILL BE SORRY IF YOU DO! Please take the time to read this review, before you trust Home Depot with any project in your home. It is my sincere hope to save as many people as I can from making the same mistake that my wife and I made. We spent a total of $45,000.00 dollars having our kitchen remodeled with Home Depot West Springfield store. We shopped around and found that Home Depot had the best price. If I knew then, what I know now, I would have gladly spent $50,000.00 and taken my business any place else and we would have been 100% better off. We walked into the West Springfield Home Depot at the very beginning of May 2024. I should have gone with my gut when the inept kitchen designer lost our entire order of cabinets, countertops, appliances, faucet, sink, backsplashes, and flooring, that it took him, my wife, and I, hours to pick out. He did not even take any responsibility for this horrible mistake. He blamed the mistake on their computer system. At first, he pulled up another order and told us that it had to be what we picked out. And yes, we had to go through the whole process of finding and picking out everything all over again. I should have walked away and taken my business somewhere else as soon as he lost our order. We told him that our daughter was pregnant, and it was critically important that the kitchen be finished by the latest, the beginning of September, because she was moving back home, and she was due to have the baby in September. This no good, dishonest man said that would not be a problem. He gave us his word that the work would be done by that time. He said, "I give you my word, that will not be a problem." It ended up being a major problem. I believe that attitude reflects leadership. The leadership of Home Depot, from the corporate office down to the management of individual stores, care nothing about their customers. I tried talking with leadership on every level. I asked for the contact information for members of the corporate leadership team and was denied any information for any member of corporate leadership. I requested compensation for all the pain and suffering my wife and I were forced to endure. I was lied to and told that Home Depot had a policy regarding compensation. I was then told that the policy was that the corporate office would not discuss compensation until all the work was completed. After the work was finally completed, more than a year later, I was told that the Home Depot has no policy regarding compensation. I was told that compensation was left to the store manager, Tony. I was just being strung along the entire time. So, the person that was involved, the entire time and well aware of everything that had been going wrong, cabinets being delivered damaged, over and over again, poor planning, and lots of wrong information from the kitchen designer, the list goes on and on, this was the person that was responsible for deciding compensation. This is such a conflict of interest; I don't know where to start. The store manager is responsible for the bottom line of the store. Compensation takes away from the bottom line. The manager at the West Springfield Home Depot is a man with no honor, or integrity. The bottom line was his only priority, and doing the right thing was never even a consideration for him. My wife and I started this process in the West Springfield Home Depot, in the first week of May of 2023. The work was not completed until the end of May of 2024. Even the most reasonable person would consider this to be way beyond reasonable. This dishonest, dishonorable, lowlife of a man offered $500.00 cash as compensation for how badly he and his store messed up. When we refused, he then offered an additional $300.00 store gift card. When I again, reached out to try and contact corporate leadership, I was told by a woman named Porchia, she reached out to her supervisors and was told that the corporate leadership will not get involved and what the store offered for compensation is the final offer. This is the same woman that told me, on a recorded line that was recorded by them, that she could not believe that the compensation that was offered was so low. She stated that she was a homeowner, and she understood. She even said that she would feel the same. But, at the end of the day there was nothing she could do to help me. She couldn't do anything to make them do the right thing, there was no appeal process, and she could not give me any contact information for anyone in a corporate leadership position. These are facts; no one in the Home Depot corporation cares about customer service enough to consider listening to a customer that is asking for help. They only care about taking your money. The West Springfield Home Depot is a glaring example of the dishonor, deceit, and unethical behavior, that is a reflection of the Home Depot as a corporation

Yelp
I called. I was put on hold, transferred to an endlessly ringing extension, and disconnected. Several times. Everyone gets busy, so I went to Customer Service. Pages a manager twice. No response. For the record, busy but very well staffed for known customers who reps had plenty of laughs with and helped with all while I waited. I spoke with Lisa on the phone and in person. Aside from transferring to no one and maybe paging no one, she ignored me...didn't even bother to check in or acknowledge me. Beyond poor service. I would give 0 stars if I could.

Yelp
Ordered a stand up air conditioner yesterday for curbside pickup. When I got the confirmation email saying it was ready, it said to come into the store. That's not curbside pickup. I decided to call once I got there. I went early this morning to avoid the rush, called, took awhile to get it all situated, and was told they would load it up and bring it out in a few minutes. Waited, waited, and waited. Nothing. I pulled into a parking spot and asked the young man strolling around pushing carts if he could help me to no avail. I finally loaded my two foster daugthers, ages three and two, into a cart, which is always an adventure as one has to sit inside the cart as there are no two children carts at Home Depot. While waiting on the phone, I kept hearing the "please don't let your children stand in the cart, climb the shelves, etc." Well, if you don't want children standing in carts, you need get better carts, think Costco carts. I'm inside trying to figure it out, and found my air conditioner sitting in a cart by the online order register. NO ONE was attempting to bring it out. I could have sat there all day. The woman working that register was super-wonderful as was everyone I spoke to on the phone, so there is where the two stars come in. She pushed that cart outside for me and helped my load it into my SUV, waiting for me to load my daughters into the car first. Then she offered to discount the purchase, which I declined. PLEASE just don't offer a service you can't actually provide, and then the customer knows what he or she is in for. I would have ordered it somewhere else if I couldn't go in without my children, which is virtually impossible. Give the woman working the customer service desk this morning a raise. She's awesome.

Yelp
Let me preface this by saying (no offense to hardware stores) but I think these are the most boring stores in the world. BUT! This Home Depot location gets five stars because they let in dogs. Which is great. Not sure if all of them do but this one does. Went shopping for blinds today for my brother's new place, and the worker who helped us was nice and knew what he was doing so that worked for us. I don't remember what his name was--sorry!! Stopping in the bathroom with my daughter to change her diaper and wow! This bathroom is the cleanest bathroom I've EVER seen in any store, anywhere. I even commented that to my mother and she laughed, it was great! Cashing out, had no problem doing so. The only issue that I had, was that my mom was looking around and at the register next to us, there was a couple who was arguing and all she did was GLANCE in their direction and the male told her to "mind your own f***ing business". THAT is not acceptable. I understand that the establishment itself has nothing do to with how a customer speaks, but still. That's not cool.

Yelp
There are always six or seven people just hanging around and when you ask for help, unless it's finding an aisle, all they can do is call the department Was there tonight asked a guy for help with finding an o-ring size and he found someone who walked right by me and there were 3 MEN he chose to help Same thing in hardware I walked out and called the MOD who acted like I was BOTHERING HIM Gonna call corporate on Monday not that I think I'll help; the only time I get help finding something is in gardening This store is THE WORST and I expect they will be out of business soon

Yelp
I need to do a major rehab on a rental apartment. Went to this store because it is larger and has more flooring choices. NEVER AGAIN! One headache after another, between their refusing to remove the existing carpet to wanting me to commit to a quote I hadn't seen. Then telling me to get the apartment tested for asbestos - with no referrals. I will take my business elsewhere in the future. BTW, called the Westfield store and got better help over the phone including a referral

Yelp
No-one answers the G.D. phone! I finally called corporate HQ and they had to place the call and still nobody answered the phone. Bye Bye Home Depot, hello Lowes.

Yelp
Did you know you can bring your dog in the store with you. I'm reviewing them solely because of that just so others are aware.

Runner G.

Yelp
I ordered two bags of fertilizer to be delivered. For some odd reason it came via curbside pickup. I went to the store twice to pick them up and called the store to let them know I was there waiting. They never answered the phone either time. I had to cancel my order.

Yelp
Went to this store for the second time and I will travel to a Home Depot in another city from now on. They need to really look at who they hire. We went to self checkout and when we scanned our item the register had an error that they needed to clear. Instead of clearing the error, the girl hovering took our item and decided to scan it. I spoke up and she ignored me. I didn't go to self checkout to have an associate take my item and scan it!! I went because I didn't want to have an associate process my order. This lady was rude and didn't listen to me. I will stick with the Home Depot in Greenfield or Hadley.

Yelp
After living in Western Mass for the past year and half, this is one of my favorite Home Depots. They are super easy with returns. Even some paint I had custom, they took it back. I thought that was super nice of them. I've bought a riding lawn mower from them, and the garden guy gave me good advice. Its next to my favorite Costco! So its bad on my wallet when I go to that part of town!

Yelp
FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. I looked up something online on the Home Depot website and it came up for $33.95. The Home Depot scammers looked it up on their special computer and it came up for $48.19. I asked if I can get the live price that is coming up on THEIR WEBSITE and they denied my request saying that even though it is clearly on their website, they can only go by the stores computer prices. I asked to see the manager and the manager said he has no idea what is going on and doesn't know who to contact to change the false advertisement. He offered me a plain "sorry" and said there's nothing he could do to honor the false, live advertisement on their website. This store is full of lies.

Yelp
This Home Depot is full of unprofessional employees who do not stand behind their service . After messing up my order about five or so times , I've decided it's time to write a review about my experience with them . Ordered hardwood flooring a few weeks ago . Went there last week on Saturday to pick it up . They told me I already picked it up when in fact on of their employees checked of the wrong thing from a previous transaction . On the other hand , they told me they'll deliver it to me on Monday . That's fine ! Call them on Monday . They tell me the same story on how I already picked up the hardwood . After five minutes of explanation this was resolved . Alright . They promised to deliver it to me on Tuesday after 4. Driver got in an accident , no big deal . Thursday after 12 pm it is ! They end up delivering the wood to a different customer who was pissed aswell . I concluded this transaction by cancelling my order and going somewhere with less nonsense to deal with . This Home Depot gets a whopping one star for their amazingly poor service . Thank you and have a good day

Trevor D.

Yelp
Never a good experience here. Always a long wait for any customer service. I have used Home Depot for special and online orders 6 times and every time there has been a major issue resulting in project delays. There are tons of customer service associates in the store, but no one knows how to do anything and pushes you off on another associate who does the same. I've never had this problem at Lowe's or Rocky's. Currently waiting 30 mins in line, figured it was a good time to write this. This is one of the shorter wait times I've had....

James S.

Yelp
Horrible customer service is only out done by phony executives at Regional hub. Canceled my home depot card. Because they would not allow a freeze on the account. Have been waiting for a window from Anderson since Dec 7 2019. Found out today after I noticed a call on my phone from home depot with no voice message from the W Springfield Store. Manager of the day Bernie checked and informed me that my replacement window has been in the warehouse for several weeks. He claims they called me. When I reminded him that calling and leaving a message about when the window was in would be better than just calling. He stated that a message was left. I told him not only did they not call and leave a message but neither did he when he called me today. Jerks!!

Yelp
This store was once really nice. Like all big stores it has run down over time and HD and Lowes are really more interested in building new and closing old than maintaining. This location gets a lot of traffic given its location, there are knowledgable people that really seem like they are tired of dealing with people in general and i can't say i blame them. This is always the first location go run out of snow blowers and snow rakes and snow shovels when everyone is scrambling to get them. This is the HD you can see from the highway but if you get to the point where you can see it on the highway you have gone too far.

Yelp
Been coming here regularly for probably 10 years. This location doesn't have as big of a selection as some others, such as the Westfield store, but the staff is very helpful. Always can get a decent parking place with such as big lot. Usually can find everything I need.

Steve A.

Yelp
You will find it difficult to get help. Employees are scarce. When you do find one; they likely will not work in the specific area that you need assistance with, they will politely send you off in a direction, when you arrive. There is no representative to be found. Gods luck !
google avatar

Ted S.

Yelp
Typical Home Depot. Watch out for the woman who does stock in the hardware section. She must have a demon. There is a good chance you will have your heart ripped out of your chest if you ask her a question! I end up shopping here anyway...

A S.

Yelp
Should of walked out before the sale of my new fridge was complete! The genre a had no knowledge of dept or product.... I waited 10DAYS for whirlpool fridge. Piece of junk...$1000 later doesn't work- and have to wait another 3 for repair man. Rude repairman made the service appt What a nightmare! Thanks Home Depot

Rick L.

Yelp
I bought a dishwasher. They confirmed delivery the night before, OK. I took a day off work and I removed my working dishwasher. On Delivery day They called me at 10am and told me there was a vague delivery issue. They had it in the warehouse but would not be able to deliver it for 7 more days!!!! If they have it why 7 more days. So I will have to take another day off work and hand wash for a week. Keep it. I'm going to Manny's

Yelp
My experience today was behind ridiculous ... I waited in line for over 30 minutes to have something as simple as Exchanging a ball for a hitch ... The one gentleman at the counter was doing what he could with the line while the other lady made a comment about not being able to find the right tools but then proceeded to gossip or talk about personal things while the line grew .... It was very frustrating and as someone with years of customer services experience it was unprofessional and at this point I would rather spend the extra money to go to a smaller home improvement store then go again to Home Depot.

Sue P.

Yelp
Dear Home Depot I am so upset with you that I can hardly put it in to words. You should be ashamed of yourselves when it comes to customer service because my experience shows that you DO NOT put the customer first. It's all about the bottom line with you and I hope my experience shows others that the last place they should do business is with HOME DEPOT. Let me share my story... My husband and I started a home improvement project in October. At that time, we planned out the renovation of our family room that was complete with an updated fireplace and built-ins. Our contractor worked diligently to fulfill our dreams. When it came to the built ins and the cabinets, we chose to purchase our cabinets from HOME DEPOT. Bad move!! My husband went to the local HOME DEPOT in West Springfield and sat down with someone that helped him order cabinets that would complete this project. He purchased the cabinets that day and was told by the salesman that these cabinets were in stock and we would receive them in three days. Guess what, that didn't happen. He called the day they were promised and was told, they didn't come in. He called back in two days. They still weren't in. He called back the next day ... guess what? Still not in. Come to find out ... HOME DEPOT had to tell us what really happened... The vendor that HOME DEPOT deals with (Rockwell) got a big order for the same cabinets and sold our cabinets out from under us. Shame on your HOME DEPOT for affiliating yourselves with a vendor that DOES NOT put the customer first. This now meant, that our cabinets that were supposed to be in the first week of November are now back ordered and it would be December before we would received them. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! We were told they were in stock when we purchased them and paid for them@!!!!! Now, not only can we not celebrate Thanksgiving at our home, we now can't have our annual celebration for my sons 14th Birthday in our home, we can't even celebrate Christmas in this room because of your greed. HOME DEPOT ... you should be ashamed of yourselves. You don't care about our Home, HOME DEPOT, you care about the bottom line. In the past, I have bought so many HOME DEPOT gift certificates for gifts, that sure has come to an end. I would hate to have a loved one receive the horrible customer service I received. Thanks for ruining my holidays HOME DEPOT. I hope my experience impacts you in a negative way because my experience shows me your heart is not in the right place and all you really care about is the bottom line. Shame on YOU!

April C.

Yelp
They have really really got to get it together!! Horribly staffed, horribly run, horribly managed and horribly trained! The few good employees they actually have are treated poorly, paid poorly and utilized very poorly. No one has any clue what's going on, no product knowledge at all. I am the construction manager of a company that spend HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of dollars with this corporation every year out of sheer convenience and if they were other options I promise we would not give you any more money. Moe, J.P and Hector are stand up employees who always go above and beyond. Earl was as well but recently retired. If you have the time to go anywhere else, like a small town hardware store, GO!

Michele M.

Yelp
I had a wonderful shopping experience at the West Springfield Home Depot ,I encounter associate more than willing to help me with my project I would recommend this store any day

Michelle M.

Yelp
Store lacks basic customer service skills. I completely understand that custom orders are not returnable, but when the Home Depot installer installs in a manner which makes the product defective, Home Depot should stand by the purchase and make it right. They don't see the big picture of all of your future purchases. Corporate Home Depot has no authority to help. It is like the store is an independent franchise. Going to cancel my Home Depot credit card. Management in the store is very short sided and don't understand that the customer is always right and can choose to spend their money elsewhere.

Henry F.

Yelp
I stopped by earlier today to get some wire for electrical work I needed to do. Chris, who was assisting me, was extremely nice, funny, and quite helpful. The store is quite clean, as well! The woman at the self checkout was extremely nice, as well. Totally worth the visit!
