Shame on you Home Depot! Our dog has been coming with us into Home Depot since he was 8 weeks old after we learned another dog has been coming in for years--not a service dog, just a wonderfully behaved dog. After 6 and a half months we are now being told he is not allowed. One associate said it was because of the food cart and the FDA would shut it down (really?) and another said that NO dogs, not even service dogs were allowed in (against the law). Our dog is a training therapy dog and has not even once barked in your establishment. Home Depot is also listed as the top place to bring your dog, I would suggest you Google this. I did speak with the manager, he seemed confused about the entire situation and did say service dogs were allowed (obviously). I prompted him to educate his employees. Your employees mostly give wonderful service, and I have never had a single one not stop to pet our incredible dog. Most of your appliance and kitchen department hunt us down to say hi to him. Dogs give an establishment a home, welcoming feel and you just took that away. It has been documented that places who give you a sense of home, patrons spend more and stay longer. You officially made your store cold and uninviting, and no longer somewhere that will make up our Saturday mornings. Once again, shame on you. Luckily there is a Lowes, right around the corner.
