The Honor Bar

Very delighted in how my time was spent at the honor bar! Wife and I had a great time with Great food and the best service! The drinks were well mixed the food was very well cooked and the selection is vast! This is definitely NOT a dinner spot for larger parties and is not intended to be a family of younger children dine in spot. It definitely caters to date nights and small group nights! 10/10 recommend!

Lots of hype because it’s a Hillstone little brother in the swanky Hghland Park Village but restaurant does not deliver. Honor Bar location and overall ambiance is pretty cool. Apart from the tuna tartare, everything else was slightly less appealing compared to Hillstone. I would not get the steaks frite. The sauce on the steak is too pesto heavy. Next time we’ll return back to Hillstone.

The host and our server were rude and hasty. The server was unknowledgeable about gluten as well. Furthermore this restaurant does not align with the area. I have coeliac disease and asked a few questions to our server about what I could eat. For multiple items she told me they “should be fine”. That’s just not an acceptable answer - I need 100% certainty or I can’t touch it at all. Coeliac is not a joke! She was moving so quick and being so catty with her responses that I really had no idea if the items were fine or not. The items I asked about were the devilled eggs, stuffed jalapeños, ribs, and fries - all of these have sauces that would universally have ingredients that may contain gluten, so anybody would coeliac would have the same questions. Also no gluten-free bread? Get with the times. Now honestly, I blame management and ownership. Why was my server so overwhelmed to the point that she couldn’t answer a simple question? Why did she feel pressured to clear the table when we weren’t finished? Why did the host feel so pressured about the rules that she had to turn away guests (not our group, just saw this happen three times)? These are very easy fixes. Have a comprehensive allergen menu that guests can request so we don’t feel like we’re running around the servers for just figuring out what we can eat without being poisoned. And maybe chill out on the dress code - it makes people uncomfortable to see others get denied when they look fine. Much less likely to let loose and rack up a bill if you feel the need to be on your best behaviour. Let me explain why this is so important. This is Highland Park. I grew up here, moved away about three years ago, and visit only for Christmas now. People who live here and blend in here are not snobs. The most beloved restaurants here are Burger House and Bubba’s - it’s just an affluent area so dummy outsider restaurateurs place “high brow”, “exclusive” restaurants here because they think they fit. They absolutely don’t fit. Highland Park Village is (right now) where people in debt who don’t live here come and flash the reasons they’re in debt maybe once or twice a year. If locals want to be exclusive, they go to the DCC, not some restaurant. Honestly disappointing since I’m well aware of who owns Hillstone Restaurant Group and the fact that he’s not a dummy. People in Highland Park also tend to care deeply about accommodating for disabilities and extending a helping hand to those less fortunate. Saw three dudes get turned away today for wearing shorts and they don’t have an allergen menu so that’s not exactly on par. This restaurant is not for people who actually live here. Anyways, I won’t return if that’s even a question, and this retail space will be turned over by 2030. Seen it time and time again. Relocate to uptown, or realign the vision, to prevent this. Edit - just called to check those ingredients, only writing this review since I’m feeling ill, was told yes they should be gluten free but can’t guarantee with cross contamination. Hahahaha tell me that when I ask in the restaurant for Jesus sake instead of yes for sure they’re fine. Have a nice Christmas, I sure won’t!

Dallas Staple. We went around Saturday at noon. Expect around a 45 min wait. My go-to dishes: Emerald Kale & Rotisserie Chicken salad & Ding’s Crispy Chicken Sandwich. The salad has a seasame/peanut like vinaigrette and mint which is super similar to a Vietnamese dish “goi ga”, love! Crispy chicken sandwich I mean just a classic - nothing special just good eats. Cocktail: Crisp Martini

We had heard so many great things about honor bar, honestly mostly about the vibes! And let me tell you the vibes are immaculate. I would say the vibes and a drink are likely all I would go there for. My husband and I ordered the chilled jalapeños, chicken sandwich, and the flat iron steak with fries. The chilled jalapeños were an interesting take on jalapeño poppers, we really liked them! I think the chicken sandwich, although highly recommended, was nothing to write home about. The slaw it is topped with was the best part by far. The chimmicurri (?) sauce that topped the flat iron was lacking in flavor and the fries were dry. Can fries be dry?? I read many reviews that said their experience was the wait staff was rushing them out the door. The opposite was true for us, we felt a bit forgotten. Honestly, there are so many different vibey places in Dallas with way better food.

Let's put that history aside and focus on what matters now: Honor Bar is a great spot, very similar to R+D Kitchen and Hillstone, with just a few tweaks. They offer a delicious shrimp cocktail as an appetizer, which is a nice addition. However, they keep removing the ribs from the menu, which is frustrating because we love them. The wait times can be quite long, which is another downside. Despite these minor issues, the food is consistently excellent, which keeps us coming back. Overall, a solid four-star experience!

Our first visit to honor our daughter who is in heaven and named Honor! The lovely outside seating and food far exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed the honor burger and the emerald kale salad. Delicious! What made it even more special was our beautiful waitress even cried with us when we shared our story.

It’s good but I don’t see myself returning, loved the burrata toast! Wasn’t crazy about the burger which was the most raved about item. The other sandwich wasn’t memorable either.

I did some shopping in Highland Park Village and asked my sales associate for a lunch recommendation. He mentioned The Honor Bar, which was kitty-corner from the store. The Honor Bar looked like a casual spot, but the closer I got to it the more I realized that it a bit on the smart casual side. They did appear to require guests to have proper attire. The Honor Bar's interior was cute and cozy like a cellar restaurant. I checked in with one of the receptionist for a table. I was informed that it would take 20 minutes for one to become available, so I opted to sit at the bar. My bartender was awesome. She was friendly and helpful, and she was so good at reading the room. She intuitively knew when I was going to ask her something before I was going to call her attention. A big reason of why I chose to go to The Honor Bar was because my sales associate said that the chicken sandwich and fries were fire. The Honor Bar actually had 2 kinds of chicken sandwiches: a fried chicken and rotisserie chicken. My bartender said that the fried chicken sandwich was THE sandwich to get so I had to comply. Fries didn't come with the dish, But I ordered that as my add-on side. My fries came out first, and they were really that good. Loved how they were thinly cut and extra crunchy. Whatever seasoned salt that came out with the fries was amazing. Lastly, the fried chicken sandwich was excellent. I was surprised to see how stacked it was. Chicken was moist and perfectly crispy on the outside, and I liked the refreshing slaw. I'd be back for this meal again.

While visiting Highland Park with co-workers we stopped in for drinks later in the day, but well before diner service. The hostess appeared friendly, but was quite snobby and wasn't very interested in assisting us. We ended up finding a spot in the bar, where we enjoyed some pretty nice cocktails, but once we were done with the first round, she asked us if we were done and told us diner service was beginning, prompting us to leave. During our stay at this table, another service came over to help us and we were going to order appetizers, but she saw this and promptly said something to the server, ushering her away. The venue is cozy and nice with a pretty good cocktail menu and the food looked great too. But the service from this hostess was pretty bad. We commented to each other that she clearly judged us upon entering, as we weren't as "pretty" as many of the patrons se probably expects there. Definitely wouldn't return.

Great little restaurant tucked in Highland Park Village. Parking was a little challenging, but they do have valet options. We made our reservation online about 2 days prior, so getting in was no issue for us, but I recommend booking ahead if you can because inside and outside were both pretty small. There's a limited menu but there's easily something for everyone. I wasn't too hungry so got the chicken meatballs and the French fries and they are both so yummy and flavorful. I knew I wanted a white wine to pair but I wasn't sure which I wanted, the waitress recommended the Pinot Grigio and it was really smooth. Overall, I loved the romantic/dark vibes of the restaurant, the food was really good and the staff were all super helpful. I would note- they do not take Discover cards (which is totally fine, but I just wanted to let yall know ahead of time, just in case)

The food was amazing and the drinks were super well made. Everyone was so sweet and friendly which made the experience so nice. Thank you for everyone making our first experience the best experience! The shrimp cocktail and the trout dip was so tasty! The ambiance was really nice, it was noisy but not too noisy. Very upscale but inviting.

A Cozy Gem from the Hillstone Restaurant Group in Highland Park Village. Great American Menu. Nice Service. While others with me have ordered and thoroughly enjoyed their "Honor Burger"; I have come back many times over specifically for their incredible "Shrimp Louie"! CHEERS!

The vibes are truly immaculate. Fairly dim, candle lit, chic decor. Plenty of indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. Seems most tables fit a max of 4. We went on a Friday for lunch and found a spot at the bar but the place was packed per usual. Small but mixed menu with plenty of options and a great craft cocktail selection. Few different draft beers and points for having Chimay white on tap. Started with gold rush cocktail, cornbread bites (no longer on the menu but just order them, they're to die for) and also the deviled eggs. Deviled eggs were delicious, cornbread bites were amazing, so damn addicting, served in a mini cast iron dish. Had the shaved prime rib sandwich for my main, it came out cut into thirds and was served with a horseradish sauce that was great. Also got an order of fries that came with this crazy good house aioli that had a great sesame oil flavor, some of the better sauce I've had. Bartenders worked together and were attentive, quick, and friendly to chat with. Great place to come for lunch or dinner.

Celebrating a life event so made reservations very early (only take for 2). Showed up and the system had our reservation wrong (had email proof to verify) so we got put on a stand bye. Ended up only taking 15 minutes. Almost left. So glad we didn't! The service was absolutely amazing. The food was to DIE FOR! Seriously. Get the chicken sandwich. Such a great ambiance. Great date night!

This place was AMAZING!! All of the food was made to perfection. The restaurant does have a dress code, however I felt it was nice but not stuffy. The service was nice and attentive. We had the Tuna Tartare as an app. It was so fresh, diced finely, with avocado and bread. Then we split the Cheeseburger and the Carolina Ribs. The Cheeseburger was so tasty especially with the cheese. The ribs were so tender, fall apart, with the best sauce. We will be back!

I love the idea of this place, (Highland Park hangout) however, it gets too packed! If you're planning on going here, book at least 2 to 3 days in advance. I will say, the bartenders can crank out drinks really really quick! I cannot remember her name, but the dark skin female and the older white gentlemen were excellent bartenders. Again, a lot of people with money here, but nothing too special about it! The meatballs were phenomenal! Great drinks as well. Older white crowd and younger white females (daddy's money) BUT awesome vibes!!

Super upscale swanky place in Highland. The hostess was very welcoming; my girlfriend and I had a reservation. Which I think is probably necessary even for lunch. We were sat a very small table in the middle of the walkway; not my favorite spot to be seated but that's just me. The whole place is a vibe a very upscale vibe. The menu is very small but offers a nice selection. We ordered the chicken meatballs and the deviled eggs; which both were very delicious. I ordered the salmon for my entree and it was perfectly prepared. No complaints on the taste of the food here. Portions were great, price was a tad up there but not outrageous. To be expected for the area.

The ambiance is such a vibe. Love the art on the wall, neon sign, wood finishes and the candle lighting. There's bar seating, indoor and outdoor seating as well. We went on a Monday afternoon and were seated immediately. The hostess and servers were friendly, observant, and quick. Drinks and food came out in record time. The food was excellent. I had the ahi tuna salad. It was vfresh, balanced, light & had just the right amount of kick to it. My husband had the rotisserie chicken salad and he had no complaints. We will definitely come back!

This is a dallas staple. Best fries without a question. Their feta sandwich is incredible and is a best try. Best devil eggs everrre

We come to honor bar often and mostly on the weekends. Wait times are usually around 30-45 minutes. However food comes out pretty quick once you order. Love sitting in the outside patio when it's nice out. Foo: 3-4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambience: 5/5

Pretty limited menu. Service was great from our server. Burger was delicious. I also tried the chicken meatballs which I didn't particularly care for, texture was questionable when chewing plus didn't care for whatever ketchup/bbq/mustard sauce concoction they put on it. I would try the burger again though! I did notice the manager checked on another table and looked at us and walked on by lol. Could it be due to race, maybe. Didn't care to interact with her anyway. (:

4/5 on the basis that the food is insanely good. The only reason I wouldn't give this a higher rating is for the service. They are very judgement and picky about who they will help and give good service to. In our instance it felt very ageist since me and my bf are younger. This definitely makes you feel a bit uncomfortable but what do you expect in HPV. The only reason we go back is for the consistently good food and drinks everything else we just try to ignore!

Excellent experience! Service was quick, friendly and informative. Ambiance was very relaxing. Food was amazing. We had the burger, shrimp Louie -So amazing!, tuna and fries. Drinks were great especially loved the goat cheese stuffed olives in the perfect martini. They even brought out a chilled glass to pour my martini into to keep it cool. Definitely comping back!

Food was delicious and the ambiance was great. Service was a a little slow but we weren't in a rush so we didn't mind. Highly recommend making a reservation so you don't have to worry about the wait time!

This might be my favorite lunch restaurant in California. We live in San Luis Obispo (just an hour north) and we stop every time we are heading to LA. For the last 8 years the food, service, and consistency has been an A+. The menu is simple, but so well done. It doesn't change much, which is awesome, because every time it's the same experience. We get a glass of wine, or the Crisp Gin Martini, have the trout dip (which is my #1 favorite dish anywhere), deviled eggs, and the truffle salted fries. The Macho Salad, the Burger, and the French Dip are all the go to's but, the Fish Sandwich special is incredible. Huge crispy fillet with a soft toasted brioche bun, with the crunch/sweet slaw and pickles with some hot sauce is a perfect sandwich. The crowd is super chill and the service is always kind and speedy. Keep doing what you are doing, Honor Bar! Love you.

Ordered the chicken meatballs app, and they came out semi-raw. For the rotisserie kale salad, my waiter asked if I wanted it with breast meat, not knowing it didn't come that way, and found out on the bill that it's a $5 up charge! Hillstone is way better. Sandwiches came with sides, no hidden up charges, food fully cooked

A classic dining experience in Highland Park. The best dishes in my opinion are: DING'S CRISPY CHICKEN SANDWICH FRENCH DIP SANDWICH Both are delicious and the ambiance with the candles is delightful. I recommend if you haven't been here before to check it out. The service has always been pleasant too!

Bar far my favorite stop for a girls day or date night! The chicken sandwich is crave worthy! (And shareable but you won't want to!). The service is great! We prefer the patio seating but the inside is intimate and warm.

Such a fun place to people watch, sit outside with cocktails and enjoy friends. We ended up being seated inside after we had a cocktail. They seriously make the best Paloma I have ever had! They use freshly squeezed grapefruit juice-so so good! My sister and I were not super hungry so we just split a burger and it was really good. Love the cocktails and atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!

That crispy chicken sandwich has a hold on me! It was so good, I was tempted to go back the next day to get another one. I had the pleasure of visiting honor bar with a girlfriend and it was such a great experience, we literally stayed for 6 hours and Daniel our amazing server didn't mind . It was pretty busy for a Saturday evening but we didn't feel rushed and we got to catch up and relax while drinking delicious wine.

Terrible Experience at Honor Bar - Homophobic and Unprofessional Behavior My recent visit to Honor Bar was nothing short of a nightmare. We arrived with a few friends, hoping to enjoy some drinks on their patio. Despite the clear forecast, the staff informed us that patio service was unavailable due to potential rain. However, they allowed self-service, which seemed odd but manageable. The real issue began with the general manager, Jennifer, whose behavior was not only unprofessional but also appeared homophobic. She made us feel unwelcome from the start, keeping a negative watch on us. At one point, she rudely demanded that our well-behaved toy poodles, who were sleeping on our laps, be put on leashes. Her hostility escalated when she accused us of being too loud and insisted we leave. When my partner tried to discuss the matter calmly, Jennifer doubled down, telling us to leave immediately and to not worry about paying for our drinks. She even went as far as to call the police and inform the valet that she believed we were unfit to drive, a blatant and baseless accusation. Throughout our stay, we observed heterosexual couples who appeared extremely intoxicated spilling out without any issues, which only confirmed our suspicion of being targeted due to our sexual orientation. Despite only consuming three glasses of wine over several hours, we were treated like nuisances. Ironically enough, we had just enjoyed a lovely lunch at R+D Kitchen, another Hillstone Group restaurant prior to our visit to Honor Bar. This experience at Honor Bar has completely soured our opinion of the entire Hillstone Group. Jennifer's inability to communicate effectively and her eagerness to create conflict was appalling. We will never dine at a Hillstone Group restaurant again due to this disgusting interaction. On an unrelated note, the food here is subpar, with very few options for vegetarians and vegans. It's essentially a slightly fancier Chili's for affluent individuals who mistakenly believe that a pretty environment with moody lighting equals quality cuisine. Avoid Honor Bar at all costs if you value respectful and professional service.

Tori is better suited for TGIFridays than HPV. I asked for an Irish coffee and was offered whiskey and coffee and said the only hot drink they had was hot toddy's. I asked to order bread service and she responded "we don't offer any free bread only the appetizers on the menu". I never asked for anything "free" I asked to order bread. I think she may need a day off, when she's ready to be friendly and actually service clients rather than bat her lashes and give unnecessary attitude. You're in the service industry not working the door of Studio 54. Thanks to Richard for taking over and giving her the break her attitude desperately needed.

Horrible, disgusting, racist restaurant. We waited an hour, they couldn't accommodate my party. Refused to even sit us outside at different tables. Super rude staff, every single hostess was rude. Please treat everyone the same. Manager couldn't even say sorry. Never giving this place another chance!!

I met my daughter for lunch today. It was a little pricey for a lunch but so delicious and fresh! We each had a Macho Salad. Beware that parking at the Highland Park Village can get congested so give yourself time to find a spot!

This restaurant offers a 5-star dining experience. The kickstart cocktail is just that - a Bloody Mary-esque beverage to get your morning started. I keep dreaming about the pan-seared ahi tuna salad. They don't skimp on the tuna, and it's served with a fruity, fresh tropical salad. You also can't go wrong with the macho salad, a fan favorite. The goat cheese, avocado, and dates are an immaculate combination. Service was swift and high-quality. And Ding's crispy chicken sandwich is one of the best in Dallas, according to a local resident.

It's hard to not like honor bar. Honor bar is one of those places you can make your regular, comfort place with consistency in their food and service. The chicken sandwich, fries and kale salad is my go-to, but my husband also raves about the cheeseburger! The cocktails are great, i've had my fair share of great Aperols during the day and martinis at night with dinner. Recommend coming here in smaller groups or ideally 2 people and expect a wait Friday-Sunday.

Super sophisticated! Very rich, indeed! Perfection is what you will find with all the mixologist and the food comes out, looking like art! Please rsvp! I must say, this is for the grown looking to tuck back, not been seen, and enjoy a mature time! Love it and it's a 5 for 5 for me! I love this type of vibe!

Love this place so much always! They always have the nicest servers and food is fantastic! We were at the bar today for lunch and it was quick and nice, our waiter at the bar was adorable and very kind too, he was so good to us. At night it's almost a bit too dark in there and I don't like how it's always only walk-ins but not much one can do about that. I will always want to come back!

Honor Bar is my absolute favorite place in Dallas. the salads are amazing but the fries are actually legendary. it is super popular so your best bet is to wait for a spot at the bar to open up.

Such a fun spot to pop in for a cocktail in Highland Park Village. Great drinks and appetizers. Haven't tried the entrees but they all looked delicious. Friendly and quick service too.

I would give this place a 4 star rating because the menu was every limited. It wasn't a lot of a variety on what to choose. I got the chicken sandwich and it was cut into 3 pieces. The coleslaw on it is amazing!! I definitely recommend. I tried the devil eggs, chicken meatballs, and burrata. It was amazing. Sid was our server and he was great. Very attentive! I'll come back. The ambiance was cool. Not every loud.

Cute patio with a front seat to all of the people watching action. The inside is very dark...even during the day. It's plush yet casual. This is my go to spot while shopping. The staff is welcoming. I never feel rushed no matter how long the line outside is. The ahi tuna tartare is a winner. The fries are always hot and CRISPY. No matter the drink you order...it will be perfect. Great for solo lunches.

One of my fav places! Yes, definitely on the pricier side but at least it's not over rated. I love the Crispy chicken sandwiches and the chicken meatballs. I would recommend for date night or intimate catch up with a friend, not really a place for big groups or kids.

Very racist bar! Lost two debit card in a day!! They were very irresponsible they didn't gave the card back!! We're not Loud but the Cheif came and told us that we were loud!! They called cops on us !! They had very rude responses to whatever we ask !! Especially the bartender and chief !! We never had this kind of experience in highland park

Well, well well well. What did I find here. Oh my I found a quaint little restaurant in the corner of a high end strip mall. Hostess was very polite and sat us in 20 minute. Once sat our energetic waitress explained the menu and offered us water. The menu is small and Simple. I love it! It allows the chef to focus on every dish to make it delicious. The shrimp were perfectly blanched and the sandwich was perfectly prepared with just enough seasoning. If your looking for a great spot to sit and unwind and enjoy a meal this is your spot.

Seriously good " bar" food... I mean good!!! The Dings crispy chicken sandwich is Off the chain ... I shared one with the amazing Emerald kale, mint rotisserie chicken salad, however ... I could have eaten the whole sandwich If you go... go a bit early, they are Uber popular around 7:00pm. We got there at 6;00 and sat right away.

Since Dallas was finally thawing out, The Honor Bar was the perfect patio for wearing a layered jacket, watching Ferrari's being valeted and enjoying a drink. Very Californiaish atmosphere in the middle of the retail shopping center. It's like if Hillstone had little sister. Comes with the level of service customers have grown accustomed and a Very scaled back menu of to However, you didn't need that jacket inside. It was like grandma's house hot. Even with the doors open. Richard is always great behind the bar. The blond bartender was happy (very busy) and helpful. The heat must have been getting to the brunette. She was annoyed most of the afternoon. It didn't help that she had to repeatedly, deliver news about wine's being out of stock.

No reservations, and parking can be challenging, even if you go early on a Tuesday evening. But we had no trouble getting a table indoors as a walk-in that day. We tried the ahi tuna salad, and my boyfriend got the chicken sandwich. The salad was generous portions, beautifully seared, great flavors; but I will readily admit that he ordered better. That chicken sandwich is delicious - the perfect mix of textures, flavors, and a large portion as well. Service was A+, and our everything came out quickly too. Will definitely be back - they have a cute outdoor patio area as well.

Service was aweful and food was mediocre at best. Suggest eating at Bistro 31, Facini, Sardelles or MiCocina before going to The Honor Bar.

Food is well executed and comes out promptly. The fried chicken sandwich is on par w Topgolf's. One in our party ordered her burger medium well specifically to not make the bread soggy. It came out medium rare with a soaked bun. I'm really getting tired of watching staff go around harassing men about 4 figure felt hats in JANUARY when half the women are in sneakers and yoga pants. Venues that choose to follow archaic practices should do so at the door and offer to take the hat along with a long coat as both will no doubt end up on the ground if on a 4 top. Not venture into the dining area and make a scene on a cold day. One dessert is quite a joke. Let's try to get in the current century OR follow practices in a proper fashion.
