Incredible spot! Really an A+ in flavor. I was so excited to check out this spot and get the chicken both ways and it did not disappoint! They were very accommodating as I was with my mother and my baby (in a stroller). Took us in immediately as we had a reservation and set us up at a table that worked well. The food is stand out. Some of the best eggplant I have ever had. Everything was spectacular. Will return soon!

We came here on a weekend morning, and it’s such a pleasant surprise! The food is excellent, and the decoration inside is also great. We like the kaya toast with eggs and the curry, and the pandan latte is also pretty good. Highly recommend!

My first time eating at The Hood, even though I’ve been following their Instagram for a long time — and it definitely lived up to the hype! The food was delicious, especially the fried chicken in the Nasi Lemak. The Hainan chicken rice was great too. For dessert, the pandan chiffon was such a pleasant surprise. They even let us sample the durian chiffon, which was really yummy! Can’t wait to come back and try the Laksa next time!

THE BESTTT ASIAN FOOD I HAVE EVER TRIED IN FRANCEEE!! oh my god their nasi lemak is to die for (i still crave it until now..) then the kaya bread UGH LOVELY! i must give it 10 stars if i can (exaggerating, but it is true this place know how to serve gewd authentic asian taste) milo dinosaurus or whatever it is is also gewd!! and their place is also soo warm and cozy <3 located in a very nice area! 🩷🩷🩷

My partner (Thai) and I went here on our second day in Paris. Easily the best meal so far and the only place we will go back to in the future (so far). Service was excellent (Knowledgeable English speaking waitress!), but even better: flavor! We had the spicy fruit salad, roasted chicken rice, and Nasi lemak chicken rice. We’ve been to Malaysia and Thailand knows chicken rice and the flavors were on for us. I felt conflicted when I ordered roasted instead of poached (more traditional) but the roasted chicken was infused with some kind of kaffir marinade (yum). The chicken on the nasi lemak was fried nicely with a light airy quality. A lot of my favorite SEA flavors remixed! Pandan chiffon good too! Next time more kaya dessert and try a cocktail.

This is my favourite poached hainanese chicken rice in Europe so far. The chicken was tender. The chill sauce was very refreshing and brought out the chicken flavour. The rice was also very nicely flavoured. The place is very nicely decorated and the staff was very friendly. Would definitely come back another time.

An absolute gem of a place that I couldn’t recommend more to people! We happened to stumble upon this because our Airbnb was in the 11th and I’m so happy we did! The food was incredible, full of intense flavours, interesting textures, and delivered quickly. The restaurant has a very cool vibe to it and is quite multicultural (with the staff speaking both French and English). Our waiter happened to be the chef and owner of the place, which was a massive privilege and we managed to have a lovely chat with her. A friendly and welcoming restaurant with delicious food that I would recommend to everyone!

If you’re craving authentic Singapore satay, this place is a must-try! The satay is grilled to perfection – smoky, juicy, and full of flavor in every bite. What really makes it stand out is the peanut sauce: thick, rich, and slightly sweet, it complements the meat so well that you can’t stop dipping. Every skewer tastes fresh, tender, and perfectly marinated. It’s the kind of comfort food that reminds you why satay is a true Singapore classic. Friendly service and a cozy atmosphere make the experience even better. Highly recommended for both locals and tourists.

TLDR: Good chicken rice outside of Singapore. But a bit heavy on the sesame oil (in my opinion). Cozy homey vibe inside with great service. Chef will bring out your food when available. The Hood offers far more than just chicken rices but chicken rice is our favorite so we had to try it. You get chicken, rice, and broth along with ginger and spicy dipping sauces and soft boiled egg. You can get more or less chicken for 3 euros incremental. The chicken is the cold style kind of chicken rice. Also, it's a bit heavy on the sesame oil flavor. That said it's very flavorful with the selected spices! The service is great for a Paris small restaurant. No air con but they do have heaters!

We had high hopes for the The Hood - having Singaporean and Malaysian food so far away from home -but it missed the mark in both taste and flavor. The roti canai and curry was €8!!! It came with one paltry room temp roti, and a curry that was literally a paste made of curry powder and water. VFC, €11.5. Looked promising and would have been tasty had it been hot, or even mildly warm. But it arrived below room temp and the meat was almost cold on the inside as you got to the bone. The mayo was not bad and akin to a thousand island dressing. 3 meat rice plate, €21. If you're going to go down the rice plate path, I'd recommend skipping the roasted chicken entirely. And the rest of it was just so-so. Roast pork was cold and gelatinous. Roasted chicken cuts were mostly gristly skin and barely any meat. And the supposed star dish, the Hainan chicken was not delicate as it should be. The chicken was not tender and the skin was rubbery. Sauces were decent. Soup lacked salt. Kaya toast, €8. It tasted like pandan flavoring and was green, but the toasted bread it was piped onto was tough and hard to slice through even with a knife. Teh tarik was €6 for the 'iced', which came with no ice, but was cold. You'll pay a whole extra euro for that luxury. It was dense and not a light, frothy and milky pulled tea like it should be. Lots of potential here, but it seems as if they are just going to do the bare minimum in taste and flavor in comparison to the real thing and hope that the locals won't know the difference.

This is such a cute place to eat, I loved the decorations and overall vibe Being from seattle I was missing some good asian food, we stopped by on a whim. We shared the chicken all in, the viet fried chicken, and each had two drinks. Honestly the portions was a bit much for us, but that's always a good thing, I felt the prices to food ratio were very fair. The chicken was well cooked with good seasoning/flavor and still tender and juicy. They also speak a fair amount of english in case you don't speak french. They got pretty busy as we were eating, but they were still helpful and attentive

Ate here on October 19th, 2023. Upon entering the restaurant, sweet aromas filled the air immediately. Encouraging sign. I had already studied the menu prior to ordering, but Zoey (owner) gave a couple of recommendations such as the Cauliflower with onions/green onions small plate. I can't recall the ingredients it was braised in, but it was so flavorful and felt cleansing! I don't usually eat cauliflower but how this was prepared made me a believer. I could eat just this dish with a bucket of rice. I Also ordered the VFC (Fried Chicken), Satay with peanut sauce, and the Hainan Chicken that was accompanied by a SPANKIN chili sauce. I mean when you're making noises eating each dish, that speaks monuments. All the meats were so juicy and you could tell there was emphasis on attention to detail for every ingredient. It felt like a home cooked git down! All the nuances of each ingredient were hitting the palate without overpowering one another. We finished off with dessert which was the Pandan chiffon cake & Kaya. The texture was so much fun to eat as much as it was delicious, and that pandan jam was the cherry on top! Not too sweet! (I think that's the Asian in me saying that) Staff is super friendly as well. Zoey chopped it up with us about Paris local eateries/nightlife and gave us other recommendations in the 11th, which is easily my favorite district with the plethora of drinking and eating spots. It's a district that is bold with cahracter. Every establishment should learn from Zoey, who has a charming, welcoming, and hospitable presence. Will recommend to anyone visiting Paris!

Where do I even begin? The service is warm, shocking for Paris. The coffee is good and the food is unique. For breakfast, they offer congee, a breakfast Banh mi, and soya eggs with bacon! If I'm hungover, you know I'm coming for that congee. For lunch, they offer super affordable and delicious Banh mi and rice bowls. Ask for that homemade sriracha! On weekends, they do a delicious fried chicken brunch that is lightly breaded and comes with a full plate of colorful veggies. From Th-Saturday evenings, their Master Chef winning chef does a neo Bistrot where you can try her take on delicious shareable, Asian inspired plates. I personally love how the chef uses what she can, local ingredients and unique Asian flavors, to create an incredibly exciting menu. It's not like anything else in Paris! They also offer craft beers and organic wines. To me, The Hood is my home away from home in Paris. It's where I can come as I am and be welcomed with a smile and warm ambiance. I also love their dedication to the creative community and music. The Hood is a special place that continues to grow with you.

Ordered two meals tonight to for delivery. Meals never arrived and phone number on the website is not in service anymore. A message asks not to leave messages. Strange. They still charged my card ....

Hainanese chicken rice, tea egg, achar, teh tarik - if you're missing some Singaporean cuisine, this place will have it for you on the weekends! As someone who grew up on the stuff, trust me, it's pretty authentic.

Amongst the many espressos we had sitting on Bistro patios in Paris, we also found The Hood - a small friendly "local" coffee shop. It was a scorcher in Paris and we had been walking up and down the canal all day. I just needed an iced pick-me-up. The iced latte hit the spot. The friendly service and relaxed atmosphere really put us back in the mood to get out and keep exploring the city.

The atmosphere was nice and it seemed to attract both locals and tourists / foreigners living in Paris who wanted bowl food and coffee. Friendly staff but not so great food.

Cute little spot in the 11th. Came here for brunch. Menu is simple and tasty. They make banging coffee, so if you're into your flat whites etc.. this is a good spot for you. Friendly, casual service and good food.

We went 4 friends.. delicious vegetarian Laksa... we wanted also to try the donuts but they were sold out. The waitress was super sweet and shared her personal stash with us to taste! We will definitely be back! We recommend The Hood, 100%

As a traveler, I enjoy immersing myself in others' culture. This is a hidden gem off the beaten path and worth a visit if you are looking for a quiet place near French residents (and away from tourists) before starting your day. Their breakfast is great with a creative spin. I had the breakfast sandwich (egg, ham, and sweet potato as a spread). Omg! You won't be disappointed. Baristas are skilled, too! See photos.

1st of all, when you walk in the staff is very friendly. I had a cappuccino and my husband had a coffee of the day, both were delightful. We both ordered the eggs, bacon and baguette. It was very tasty. We especially loved the music and décor of this place. It is very welcoming and comfortable.

If you want a good New-York-style coffee experience, this is one of the best places for it in Paris. Facilities: Spacious, friendly, hipster/classy (yes that's possible), and generally, exactly how a coffee shop should be. Variety of seating options. Free water (yaassss). Amazing bathroom (always a priority). Wifi: Fast and consistent. I spent a couple of hours here on each of two different days, at different times, and never had a problem. That's extremely rare here! Staff: Brilliant. Very friendly. The one who served me is flawlessly fluent in both French and English (from England but has spent much of his life in Paris). Charismatic and genuinely caring, unlike so many other baristas you'll meet in Paris. Coffee: Good. Not exceptional. But the prices are decent, the quality was up to my tastes, and they do all the standard Paris options (espresso, cafe creme (latte), allongé), as well as some unlisted items. If I were staying near Belleville I would unquestionably make this my daily spot.

Friendly service, jolly atmosphere, spacious cafe. I had the earl greyes and granola - delicious! Would recommend if you're in the area :)

When I came in, the staff was very welcoming and amiable. Unfortunately it was unclear whether or not we had to order at the counter or sit at a table and be served. After a 10 minute wait, we finally grabbed the waiter's attention and ordered one Chai Latte, One Hot Chocolate and One slice of Vegan Lemon cake. The cake arrived first and was exceptionally good. We then waited 10 minutes for the Chai Latte and another 10 minutes for the Hot Chocolate by which time the Chai Latte was cold. The Chai Latte was simply a glass of hot milk with cinnamon foam on top. Gross. The Hot Chocolate was ok and the cake was very good. Not worth the price. Rubbish service. Would not recommend unless for instagram photos.

Had a fantastic cappuccino and single origin etjiopianpour-over. After we ordered, they brought us a carafe of water to our table with our drinks. Love seeing good coffee come to Paris! Thank you for expanding the coffee community to the best city in the world!

Out of all the Vietnamese restaurants I have been to this place has the best Bahn mi by far. Today I had the Pate Bahn Mi + plus a mocha. Out of all the Bahn mi I've tried in California, this place has the beats all. The restaurant has a chill relaxing vibe, with amazing interior. Not to mention the staff are friendly and provide excellent service. I giving this a 5 star review because of how good the service was, the food, and the atmosphere. The Hood is definitely a place to visit when traveling to Paris.

I came to The Hood with a couple of friends for lunch. It was pretty cold outside, so I opted for the soup. I think there was a soup or a plate that were both vegetarian, but the sandwich had chicken so wasn't an option for me (although I think the menu changes so maybe more veggie things inthe future!). My soup was good, with crunchy bread on the side for dipping, and the coffee was good too. Nothing stand-out, but I wasn't expecting that. This place has a total neighbourhood cafe vibe, and is really cozy. A good spot if you have an afternoon of studying or just want to hang out.

This place is a MUST!!!! When you first walk-in in you can tell this place is going to be good! Amazing ambiance and a solid menu! THE FOOD IS OUT OF THIS WORLD, I highly recommend the sriracha sauce, it's great! The coffee is just wow. Perfect place in Paris

I read all the glowing reviews and was excited to try it out. We ordered the Brooklyn breakfast sandwich, the healthy granola, cappuccino and an orange juice. The drinks came first, of course, and they were great, fresh squeezed juice as I've come to expect. But the sandwich was small and not great, the greens tasted bitter, and I never received my granola. My son finished his sandwich and we waited another 15 minutes, but it never came. No one checked on us or asked if we needed anything else. We finally decided to just leave, and when I went to pay they tried to charge me for the granola, which confirmed that they did actually receive my order...when I told them I didn't get the granola, they just took it off the bill, but never asked why.
