Google
Great restaurant with excellent food options and a wide selection of drinks and juices. The prices are reasonable, and the service is good. I had the burger, which was very tasty. I appreciated the customization options, which I think is a standout feature. My only suggestion is to make the burger patty slightly smaller to make it easier to eat with hands without needing utensils. The sweet potato side was very good; I highly recommend ordering it. I really enjoyed the ambiance, the decor, and the music.

Google
Very lively, fun place with an eclectic variety of food. I tried the elote corn, buffalo bone-in wings, and the bread pudding. Why choose when you can have it all! All were delicious. The service was very fast for a Friday night, and staff all nice. I was able to get a table right away when I went around 6pm. Of course, parking in the are is a pain, but worth it for some really great food and a fun, casual atmosphere! I parked in a paid lot a couple of blocks down the road.

Google
The simple fact that they have such an extensive allergy menu for everyone is fantastic. They have a celiac safe space for prepared gluten free foods and have so many choices. We had the fish n chips and the honey stinger chicken. Everything came out hot and delicious. Would return.

Google
First time experience will have me coming back for decades. Wandered in on a whim, discovered they do a bloody Mary bar on the weekends. Ok, I'm in. Browsing the menu and I discovered they cater to gf/celiac. Ordered the clogger burger, mid rare gluten free bun. Came faster than I expected with a PERFECT warm pink center. And topped with a fried egg whose white was firm but fluffy, the yolk perfect and runny. Came with fries. I cleaned my plate. Words do the atmosphere no justice. And the lovely bar staff made me feel welcome and were super attentive. 11/10 just come once. If you leave unsatisfied, I'll buy you a beer. UPDATE: I've been working my way through the menu, and have discovered more gold. It is my pleasure to introduce to you: the Chophouse Melt. Shout out to the artist at the grill. I ordered mine mid-rare with gluten free bread. Not only was the cook PERFECT(which is difficult to do with crusted/coated meats), but the gf bread was grilled to perfection. This thing was juicy, savory, peppery, sweet, and tangy. The onions 🤤🤤🤤. Not only was the meal great, but the saint behind the bar was able to get my order and go above and beyond despite being in the weeds. Once again: stop in, try something. And if you leave unsatisfied, I'll buy you a drink. Update again: I've found it. The only item that needs to be on the menu. Honey stung chicken. Keep in mind the entire menu can be GF. Enter a perfectly fried chicken cutlet served with honey and chili flakes. This thing was so tasty I burned my mouth in scarfing it down. Crispy crunchy coating and moist in the middle. Combined with the veg(green yellow squash and bell pepper) and mashers with sausage gravy, of which I'd like a bucket of please. I can only complain about the reasonable portion. It should come as a platter lol. Honorable mention to the steak(a New York strip I believe) which I ordered mid-rare. It came more rare than mid, and the chimi churi..... Another candidate for bucket sales. As usual, the FOH staff made each visit worthwhile, and were wonderful and attentive. I promise you'll enjoy every minute spent here.

Google
Reuben sandwich was tasty! Sweet potato fries were crispy and not soft/soggy. Was here for the book event and loved how it was organized. Everyone was very friendly and gave great recommendations. Only wish the book selection was bigger.

Google
I have food allergies and was pleased with the menu and the accommodations. The food was okay and the service timing was really good. The service, however, was terrible. Even though the service was sub-par, I still left a hefty tip and the server did not thank me for coming in. There was a manager on duty who actually was very personable and gave great overall service to all patrons. My server was the only disappointment.

Google
Relaxed vibe and good food in a perfect location for hanging out on Broadway! Burgers cooked to order, sandwiches, salads, and a selection of dinner entrees. Try their turkey panini with a tomato soup dip or an arugula salad with beets and candied nuts. Plenty of beer on tap and friendly service.

Google
great brunch spot on the weekends! definitely gets busy so call ahead. they have so many gluten free options here! the dirty south chick is completely gluten free! gf options labeled on the menu. the mulemosa was also delicious.

Yelp
My new favorite brunch spot! No wonder why my friend brings everyone here as her go-to. It was shockingly empty for a Sunday morning on Broadway. There were 4 of us, and we were seated right away. They take reservations, but one wasn't needed. It's a spacious restaurant. I had the Latin Prime Rib Hash, which I couldn't take my eyes off of. Paired with a Spicy Bloody Mary, it was the perfect brunch. Our waitress wasn't very welcoming and seemed a little out of it, but maybe it wasn't her day. Would come here again anyways!

Yelp
I met up with a friend for lunch at The Hornet. We sat at the bar and I was real happy to see Guinness on tap so that was the obvious choice for me. We both got the artichoke fritter and veggie wrap with sweet potato fries. The wrap was solid if a little light on fried artichokes. The sweet potato fries were a classic example of sweet potato fries and I ate every last one with no regrets. The bartender/server was exceptionally nice and made the overall experience a pleasant one. I'd definitely come back!

Yelp
Came here for brunch on the coldest day of the year. The food was amazing and eclectic, the service was on point, and the ambience was cozy and comfortable. There were bottomless Bloody Mary's (a self serve bar with fixins) and Mimosas in several different fruity flavors. I had an Espresso Martini with Oatmilk and was shocked that they had several milk alternatives -- score!!! My party had the following dishes, all of which we would gladly order again: Latin Prime Rib Hash $18 Breakfast Tacos $16 Pupusa Revuelta $14 + $3 extra pork Fried Chicken $19 (subbed mashed potatoes) I had extra pork with my Pupusa and it was worth it in my opinion. One of my guests had a piece of butter wrapper in her potatoes but the server comped that dish. That's good customer service! It honestly just proved to me that they use fresh ingredients so no harm, no foul in my book. (My guest still ate them too and said they were really good) I've been to quite a few brunch spots but this one now tops my list. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu. *My only complaint was that I found out that we could order off the regular menu after I had chosen what I wanted for brunch - me choosing is a long ordeal. It's not really a complaint because that makes this place even better. All their food looks pretty impressive! Hats off to the peeps in the kitchen.

Yelp
Very beautiful place with great service. The food was delicious everyone enjoyed their pick! Deviled eggs were delicious as a starter.

Yelp
I forget how good this place is. Friends went here when we couldn't get into the restaurant we originally planned to go to on a Thursday evening and glad we did! Hit the tail end of hh and got the ahi tuna tostadas (yum) and I had the poblano soup and a side salad. Service wasn't anything special but the food hit the spot and will be sure to be back again soon.
google avatar

Yelp
4.5 stars. Had the veggie wrap and it was fantastic, the let me get fried plantains for the side (yum!). Got the Passion Project drink (a little watery tasting but light nice flavor). The carrot cake was shared by table , nice spice cake base, light and moist. Would get it again. Great service, friendly and proactive. Quiet and nice ambience (wasn't very crowded so not sure how would be if busy). Bathrooms were just ok (weird toilet paper dispenser and cold air blower for drying hands)

Yelp
The Hornet is located in a very hipster area of town that offers lots of unique spots to explore! Three things that stood out to my friend group and I were: 1. The amazing service! 2. The huge portions 3. Delicious food!! I got the chilaquiles and as much as I loved them, it was so much I could not finish them. They had a nice kick to them and asking for a over easy egg on top was the cherry on top to my dish. Definitely check out The Hornet!!

Yelp
Lovely place for brunch :) Build your own bloody bar for $5! Additional for different vodkas but still was super fun I loved this. The portions are hefty and they are delicious. The dirty south chick is a must have! This place gives a very home-y feel and service was great. I've only been here for brunch and I'm probably looking to come back for lunch or dinner next.

Yelp
We sat at the bar on New Year's Day for brunch, served by the illustrious and skillful Liz and Erica. Although the place was packed and extremely busy, the staff managed to keep a good handle on things. The open-seating bar saved us from waiting perhaps an hour and a half. Brunch at The Hornet is quite fun. There is an expansive menu from which to choose, the drinks are delightful, and the energie is excellent! I cannot wait to return. :)

Yelp
Loved dinner tonight at the hornet! Truly, don't have any notes on how the meal could have been better. I can't wait to go back and try more of what they have on the menu, it was really hard to narrow it down. Our waitress was so attentive and professional & the restaurant was quiet enough on a Friday night to be able to have good conversation. I got the Reuben with sweet potato fries. The sandwich had spicy bacon sauerkraut, which added a really delicious flavor & one that I haven't experienced before. And I've had my fair share of Reuben's! I also appreciate that they don't up charge for sweet potato fries. My friend got the Mayan salad with grilled chicken and loved it. My other friend got the Broadway dip which is their a version of a French dip. She got it Philly style, which added mushrooms, onions, & banana peppers. This is definitely worth the up-charge of $2 because 1) it tasted amazing but also 2) the sandwich would've been a little bland without it. Lastly, I definitely recommend ordering a huckleberry lemonade, which has vodka and lavender lemonade. I could've had 5 they were so good.

Yelp
Slow slow slow service. Went for brunch. Restaurant half full. Took 35 mins to get on tap drinks. 2 stars for cute space. Been here now 45 mins and no one's taken our order yet.

Yelp
I have been coming to the Hornet for 20 years on and off. I've seen the good, bad and the ugly! I hadn't been in a while because a few years back it was disappointing. Upon 2 recent visits, I am happy to report the food, service and price point for S. Broadway is great! I've had the happy hour tostadas(delish) and the Cobb salad which has the yummy restaurant ranch- I've never quite figured out how to make that at home! The kiddo loves the Mac and cheese and the hubs loves a solid burger. Happy hour has drink and food specials from 4-7 daily which is hard to come by these days! If you're looking for solid food, friendly service and nostalgic 90's music playing in the background, this spot has it all!

Yelp
Had the Dirty South Chick with some double mimosas for brunch. Honestly really great fried chicken. Lots of flavor all around. As someone from the south, I think chicken here is often a hit or miss. This is a straight Hit! Everything came out really fast with good customer service. Ill be back!

Yelp
I was a little disappointed here to be honest. I made a reservation for Friday night - which thank goodness I did - cuz it was busy! The hostess was great and super nice. We went to the bar to get a drink before our table was ready and we stood there for about 5 minutes and not a single person acknowledged us so we just went to the front to wait for our table. The hostess said that their system crashed and no credit cards could be run at the moment and the bar wasn't usually like that. She handled it gracefully. Our server was not personable at all. Did the bare minimum. She was tall with short curly hair. We got the fish tacos to start since it was happy hour and a few drinks. The tacos were good but overloaded with garnish and the scoop of guac did not get distributed evenly.. For dinner we had the lobster Mac and cheese and the braised short rib. The short rib was wonderful! It was a huge portion! I loved everything about it. Delicious and tender. The mash and broccolini were great too. The lobster Mac and cheese fell short of our expectations. It just really didn't have any flavor and the lobster was over cooked.

Yelp
I like the Hornet a lot. It's like a diner slash bar-restaurant. It's a cool vibe inside and the staff is usually really cool. I've tried a few food items, mostly apps -- avocado toast (with salmon and a hard-boiled egg!), chicken lettuce wraps, the poblano soup -- all of it was quite good!! The tacos and spuds au gratin were more like ok/good. They have a good amount of tap beers, only one cider, tap wines, and a hard açaí berry kombucha which I like. Defintely recommend this spot if you're looking for food/drink. It's the perfect spot before or after a flick at the Mayan Theater right across the street!
google avatar

Yelp
Came here for happy hour and this place did not disappoint!!!!! Their happy hour times are from 4-7 and it was a great price point!!!!! All their apps were $3 off during happy hour and their apps are HUGE!!! The perogies and coconut curry wings were our favorite. We got 4 drinks and 3 HUGE apps that were big enough to fill us up for $57. That's a steal in Denver! Can't recommend this place enough. Make sure to make a reservation because they do fill up fast!!

Yelp
I got a lobster Mac and cheese. Was sooo excited about it but then disappointed bc it wasn't very good at all. Pretty big restaurant with ample seating. Located on Broadway.

Yelp
Ordered some take out from here. The People: Super nice and cool staff that helped us. The Food: Maybe because it was we opted for take out but the food was okay, a little cold and the fries were a bit soggy. I'd try this place again next time I'm in the area.

Yelp
Came here for Mother's Day: to headline this. I'll be back for Father's Day. Service was amazing. Not just our server, everyone we interacted with. Moderate amount of screens with a bit of sports. Good music, atmosphere, and the food was great. For your money you can't go wrong. Amazing specials, reasonable prices, and quality drinks. Local drinks, ciders, and the specialties were great. There's a painkiller on the menu that we've only really seen down in the BVI: and they did not disappoint. Already excited to get back here. Love the upbeat, semi English pub atmosphere, food, and service. Bravo

Yelp
After a global pandemic ranging for almost two years, one would figure during Omicron that their online ordering system would be solid.  Not the case. Order was submitted online chownow from website but wasn't received in the restaurant, lost in some que that wasn't seen by staff until after I came to pick it up. Ordering ahead of time was a waste.  Brunch Playa Fish Tacos - beer-battered cod? Cod was very scarce. The tacos were pretty much filler of shredded lettuce and heaps of pineapple red pepper Pico with the slightest crumble of cod intermixed. 5 dollars each.  Not much flavor. If I wanted a lettuce pico taco I could have stayed home.  A dissapointment.  No apologies for the wait. No words of encouragement. Just indifference from staff.  I will return again someday for something else.

Yelp
Truly a remarkable place with a courteous staff and killer burger. In town for baseball games and this was my first stop in the Baker District. Jim R

Yelp
Been to this place several times in 2023. I've been there with large groups, small groups and just the two of us and have enjoyed our food, beverages and service every time. I highly recommend The Hornet for locals and anyone visiting Denver.
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
Ate here on 12/21 and got the worst food poisoning I've ever had. I'm suspecting it was from the creamy poblano soup. Server was extremely kind, and ambiance was nice. Unsure if I'll give this place another try based on how the food made me feel.

Yelp
WOW...NEVVVVVAAAA had such a great tasting Lettuce Wrap Just make sure you have the cucumbers cut-up - cuz they won't fit in the lettuce.. My husband had the tacos and also loved em.. Service was super as well

Yelp
Went to The Hornet today for happy hour, great specials, and everything we had from the food to the drinks were made with love and came out perfect. Morgan was our amazing bartender, who took care of us, and was super attentive to everything from the moment we sat down until we walked out the door. Cheers to The Hornet!
google avatar

Yelp
Great spot for casual but delicious dinner on Broadway - coconut wings: delicious - short ribs: highly recommend! - beet salad: not bad if you want something light Friendly service and plenty of seating. I enjoyed the meal and the place!
google avatar

Alisa J.

Yelp
Good brunch place and not too crowded. I had the veggie wrap and that was super good. They don't have too many options for vegetarians in the breakfast menu. It's in an ok location and staff is good. Not my favorite brunch spot but a solid choice.
google avatar

Sherrin M.

Yelp
Great HH spot during the weekdays and weekend! Monday - Saturday 3-7 PM. $3 off appetizers and $4 draft beers.. what's not to love? They have high tops in the bar area and a few large tvs - great for watching sports games (they don't play the sound on the tv though). Service and food are quick. Very little outdoor seating area but in the heart of broadway. Chicken wings were crispy and saucy (only wish they had more sauce options)! They have good ranch! French fries not on HH but so yummy and skinny and crispy! The fried fish tacos were stuffed but were lacking a little seasoning.
google avatar

Caleb R.

Yelp
Overpriced low quality brunch. I would avoid at pretty much all costs. Go to the butchers block cafe instead. I ordered iced coffee and got a refill- when I looked at the bill I got charged for two "cold brews" at 5 dollars a piece. Ten bucks for coffee?? My waitress should have at least mentioned to me that the refill was gonna cost me another 5 bucks. Also not cold brew??? I know what cold brew tastes like and this was watery iced drip. Also my burger was very mediocre, very greasy with no flavor. Will not be coming back
google avatar

Korey S.

Yelp
Decided to get Brunch here and people watch Viva on Broadway this past Sunday. I had the steak wrap with scrambled eggs added. It was very good. My wife had the omelet, which was decent. We shared the banana French toast. The French toast was meh. Not much flavor. The syrup was the best part. The double mimosa is only $5 and has multiple juice options, that was well worth it. Overall good brunch.

Yelp
Where do you go on a Friday night out with your best girls, out to The Hornet of course. The Hornet has been a solid choice for SoBo dining in as long as I can recall. We did have a reservation and were seated immediately. I'm glad we had a reservation too, because the place was buzzing. I ordered a 90 Shilling and the Turkey Brie Panini. I'm not really sure what everyone else ordered because I was too busy eating my perfectly grilled, cheesy panini. There were a couple hiccups with the food once it arrived... a missing lemon from a blood mary and regular fries were delivered instead of sweet potato fries. All remedied within minutes of notifying our server. It was nice to visit an old haunt and and know it's just as good as it ever was. Pro Tip: $4 beers/draft wine 4p-7p.

Yelp
We stopped by for a quick drink, planning to go elsewhere on Broadway. Their happy hour sign lured us in, and I'll attest happy hour is the bomb and goes until 7!! We ended up staying much longer than planned and eating off their delicious GF menu selection. Morgan was our bartender and was exceptional- very attentive!
google avatar

Dylan D.

Yelp
My wife and I love this place. One of our favorite spots on Broadway. Drinks are good and the food is delicious and reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

Fred B.

Yelp
The Hornet always has a reliably good kitchen no matter what time of day. The pork or fish tacos on the appetizer menu make a great lunch! Ratio on tap!
google avatar

Sami A.

Yelp
Awesome brunch service with huge double mimosas for $5 and solid menu options. Would've liked to see more vegan options but otherwise wonderful.
google avatar

Brooke W.

Yelp
Great service, as always. Happy hour is legit! $7 apps $5 house wine and beer. HUGE portions. Not shown, tomato soup which is the best! Not too creamy and perfect balance of tomato basil and cream! Stop by soon, food is always good and VERY reasonable. Also HAPPY HOUR TILL 7!!
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
I come to the hornet quite frequently and Liz typically works the bar. She is an absolute delight and always makes my day 1000% better! The food is also amazing but Liz makes the Hornet experience amazing every time!!
google avatar

Luda L.

Yelp
I always love going to this place. Neat environment and the waiters and bartenders are always great. My favorite dish is the honey stung chicken- although the past two times I have been there (3-4 months ago) the chicken tasted and looked like it was boiled and not that yummy crispy chicken that has been my go to. Hopefully next time will be better since I love supporting my local restaurants
google avatar

Dana W.

Yelp
We came here before dinner just for drinks so I can't attest to dinner but was pleased with the beer drink special. $4.00 off beer was nice from 4-7. I was a little confused why the martinis had a $12.00 up charge for "martini" on top of the $36.00 kettle one prices so YOWZA!! So 4 kettle one martinis were $50.00. Won't do that again. The restaurant is on Broadway so you have plenty of people watching opportunities and parking is street parking but pretty doable on weekdays. All in all, will come back for brunch in the future and people watching opportunities.
google avatar

Mercedes W.

Yelp
Perfect place for a happy hour. 4-7 daily. They close early on Sunday. $4 drafts, wells and house wines. Their deviled eggs are great. I even recommend their fish tacos. Love the laid back atmosphere and the ability to make a reservation is very convenient.

Yelp
I have liked going to this restaurant on my way into downtown Denver from Littleton. I always liked the Urban feel and location at a corner on Broadway. When we walked up this past weekend I was wondering if it was still open because all the shades were down, but then I could vaguely see the lights on inside as I got closer. We got seated and the vibe was so different. I could see one of the shades ruffled up at the floor and all the other shades were down. It was early evening. Because I enjoy people watching I walked over to raise the shade by our StreetSide table. I tried a few times and the shade kept falling slowly each time I raised it. Then I noticed a latch on the side of the window and I figured the chain needed to be latched. As i was looking at it, the host came over. She sharply asked what I was doing. I calmly said I was trying to raise the shade so I could see the view, in a friendly tone. She snapped back that the shades were old and decrepit and didn't work. Then she sharply said "Don't touch them!" and walked away. I was surprised but didn't let her ruin my time with my husband, I did ask my husband if he thought she would have used the same tone with him if he had been the one involved and he said, no. I wondered why she felt she had permission to approach me with such a tone (because I am a woman, over 50?). I will not be treated in such a manor and sadly won't be back.
google avatar

Eric G.

Yelp
Parking around Broadway can be a pain but it's a good restaurant to try. They have a good short rib dish here. My only complaint is that it has too much meat and not enough vegetables.
google avatar

Jenna L.

Yelp
I came to this restaurant a while ago with my best friend and it wasn't too shabby! We ordered the artichoke heart fritters, with the turkey brie panini, mashed potatoes and gravy. The drink we both got was their huckleberry lemonade and oh my lord, it was so good! The drink was probably the highlight of my night it was that tasty. Everything else was pretty good, especially the artichoke heart fritters! I loved the environment and atmosphere provided by this place. I would say it is a pretty casual place to eat at if you are just trying to hang out with friends or your significant other. The service is great and the restaurant is really modern-like!
google avatar

Rachel B.

Yelp
After some long driving, we were too exhausted to go to the Hornet, so we I can't speak about the restaurant itself. We had our food delivered and my husband ordered the lasagna, and he really enjoyed the kick the chorizo gave it, and he's a lasagna lover at heart, HOWEVER, he rated my prime rib dip (Philly style) even higher, which is sayin' somethin'! I loooved my wonderful sandwich, which I was able to have made gluten-free! Whaaat? Yes, a gluten free bun that was crispy on the outside and soft enough on the inside to really absorb the au jus. I highly recommend this sandwich to all! So many different menu options and even gluten free options, you just can't go wrong for a well made but casual, comforting meal. Yum, yum. :)

Yelp
Good food, really enjoyed the artichoke heart fritters, and great happy hour on food and drinks. Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
I just found my go-to, pre-show grub pub on S. Broadway! The Hornet has been open since '95 and in my opinion, will be cranking out delicious food and slinging bevvies for many more years to come. It's a great watering hole to watch a sports game, catch up with friends, or grab a bite prior to a nearby show. We came here Friday night prior to a show at Hi-Dive. We were sat instantly and our food came out within 10 minutes of ordering. Say what? We were all super impressed with the efficiency and pleasantness of the staff. ***15% CASH BACK ON YELP*** For starters, a buddy and I split the Buffalo Chicken Wings. I'm kind of a wing snob, but mostly a lover of chicken wings. These are excellent. The sauce was vinegary and spicy, exactly what you want out of bar food. Served with carrots and celery, and choice of ranch or blue cheese. I ended up ordering one of their namesake items, the Honey Stung Fried Chicken. Now looking at the food you're probably thinking one of two things: a) that doesn't look like classic "fried chicken." You're right, it's not. b) that doesn't look like typical bar food. You're right, it's not. Addressing the above, don't expect Southern fried chicken. You will end up being disappointed. However, it's tender, sweet and savory. More of an elevated, refined take on the classic unhealthy food. What I enjoyed most were the perfect mashed potatoes and sausage gravy pairing. Wow, talk about decadent! And the seasonal veggies were my cup of tea. I'm not sure if my photos do it justice, but the portion sizes are gigantic. Gigantic, I tell you! You might think prices are a few $$ too high at first, once you see the gargantuan entrees you know it's inherently justified. $4 drafts, all day every day. With many Colorado beers on deck! There is a lot of good going on here. And I'm genuinely looking forward to coming back and sampling more of the menu. The Hornet is not your typical pub. Check 'em out!

Yelp
Why has no one mentioned this place to me? 26 years this place has been serving the community. Excellent food. Arrive on point and a controlled chaotic Zenfull atmosphere makes this the place to be.
google avatar

Victoria E.

Yelp
Stopped by during happy hour for some nosh and beverages. Tried four different items. Fish Tacos had crispy fish and all the right vegetables 2 to an order were easy to share. Nachos cheesy with all the trimmings. Avocado Toast topped with salmon and hard boiled eggs. Lettuce Wraps lots of items to fill the cups, a warm chicken mixture along with cucumber, chopped nuts and cilantro. Not one bad bite more than enough for 3 of us. The Hornet is a must when in Colorado.

Yelp
Amazing fish tacos !! We loved from the second we walked in for our scavenger hunt they were able to prepare our taco in less than minutes allowing us to win the hunt -truly amazing service
