The food was delicious and cheap! It's mostly outdoor seating so on this hot day it was a little toasty.

Beautiful spot on the water. No dogs inside or allowed on the deck. They told me only at the entrance picnic tables outside. Pretty yummy clam stuffie and mozz sticks. Unfortunately the grill was down so half the food items were unavailable. And they didn't have Any mint for a mojito. Leaf leaf 🌿 :( Food is ordered at the bar and you're given a buzzer to retrieve it yourself. Lovely bright seating available or darker spots too. The deck has sunny seating or shaded areas. Indoor and outdoor bar available. And free popcorn! Paired with a beautiful fish tank.

Looking forward to coming back to The Hot Club - it’s in a great location right on the water. We didn’t have to wait for seating and there were great beverage options - including N/A. They have a small food menu but it turned out surprisingly good! The fish bites were flaky and the chicken tenders and a great crunch to them. Great vibes.

THE FISH TACOS AND ONION RINGS WERE AMAZING!! They did make a mistake on our order but were super kind and quickly fixed it. This is a great place!

Honestly, been going to this place for years and enjoyed my time, today was there with friends. Helped two different people who weren’t in the best shape. Security is usually good however tonight lost respect, absolute power trip

The food was pretty basic pub food, we had a hummus tray and the mac&cheese bites, and the drinks were fine. Apparently they don’t pour doubles but other than that, service was great. The place definitely felt like a hole in the wall but in a good way.

4/2025 - the place looks awesome. ✅👍 the Deck is open for the season. Remember the 401 club to help the local homeless shelter (Nathanson Street) with a free meal. Chicken sandwiches are the best at the Hot Club. Grilled inside. Taco and Dale are assets to your kitchen. Popcorn is a good add. Obviously even better when the patio is open and it is nice out. Looking forward to summer 2019.

Really bad experience! First we arrived and they did not want to let us pass because one of my friends was carrying a passport "we do not take passports" and another friend because she was carrying her New York license, then the batenders very bad attention, super rude, a friend asked her for a recommendation and she was super hostile with her answer!!

I had a hamburger and it was really good but the freckle faced girl working the outside bar was rude to me and definitely didn't put any whiskey in my crown and coke. If I wanted just a soda I would have ordered that

Summertime Hot Club visit is a must. It's just a great little location. Went with my sister - outdoor bar was not open yet but the weather was great to sit by the water and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. I had a Strawberry Moon - a gin cocktail that was promoted so maybe a featured drink? It had grapefruit juice in it and a grapefruit moon would have been a better name. Not a huge fan. Beers - cold and standard. Food - I got the whipped feta app, so good! Bartenders were quick and attentive.

What a great place to go on a hot summer day for a couple of cold drinks with some friends.

It's a cute spot for drinks on the weather. I do wish servers came outside to the tables, but it's no biggie. I have only sat outside, and my friends grabbed us some canned cocktails. I think they serve food, but didn't the day we went. They did have food trucks though which was good planning other behalf. It's a fun spot for a warm sunny day.

Didn't get any food but the drinks were amazing here. Bartenders were so friendly too. The best experience had to have been the outdoor seating, music was playing but not so loud that you can't hear the person next to you. The waterfront view was so relaxing that we just to grab a few drinks!

On a gorgeous evening in Providence, hubby & I decided to grab a drink at The Hot Club. The views are awesome! And always fun to people watch (& subtlety eavesdrop). Also amusing to watch the dudes on the boats ogle the girls at the restaurant. Ahhhh... to be in my 20s again! The grilled burger was very good. Nice char on the outside, hubby asked for LTO which were listed as extras but got them for free. Cold drinks at a decent price. Win-win all around!

The food and service is an A+. The staff is very friendly and eager to give customers an enjoyable experience and the food is delicious. The atmosphere can't be beat. It's on the water and from the bar up is all window so the view is amazing. The bar is a beautiful shade of wood that is so shiny. I was there on a rainy day so I didn't go out on the brick outdoor patio, but I was out there last year and the outdoor seating is gorgeous and also looks out on the water. If you're sitting you feel like you're in the water. My son even proposed to his fiancé here. This is my favorite place to go and it has been for years.

Really cool vibe here. They only had two bartenders on - they needed some more help so was a bit slow getting drinks. Parking is a bit of a disaster. Very small lot ,it's on street pretty much. We shared the fish bites and seasoned dries and it was really good!! Super hot and fresh. No table service- order at the bar and pick up at the kitchen. Food prices were really reasonable. Pick up some free popcorn by the front door! Great decks and awesome views. Will defiantly be back.

Stop #16 on RI FOOD FIGHTS 11th Annual BIG burger Blowout!!! I ordered a burger with bacon and crumbled blue cheese cooked perfectly delicious and juicy... My bartender Deja took very good care of me... As it is my birthday tomorrow, she snuck me a birthday cupcake, a shot glass and a free drink card to be used in the future (will use for ginger beer!) the first time I was at the Hot Club was about 40 years ago when I was running a club right across the parking lot called the River Café, That's where I hit my bottom... July 27 I will be celebrating 37 years clean and sober... I just celebrated 33 years cigarettes smoke-free January 27...I forgot they served food, and it was quite good... I will definitely return!

Very limited service. Order food and drinks at the bar. Go pick it up, clean it up by yourself. No table service. But.. awesome burger and very cool vibe.

This place was so much fun. The parking situation can be stressful since it's not too far from India point park and it's by the water, but once you find parking you're golden. So this place is more like bar, finger food. You order your food at the bar, and can either sit inside or outside by the water. The prices are amazing! I was shocked for the area how cheap it was AND the food was delicious. It's not a server come to your table type of place it's grab your own food once it's ready and pick a table and grub. I love this setting. It was relaxing, all types of people and the music was very good. We sat outside and by the water. It was an amazing scenery and great vibes. Phoenix who greeted us at the front was so kind. Glad we went and I'll be back!

I think my assessment of hot club will vary greatly depending on what sort of experience you are looking for. Do you want a pleasant spot to grab a drink by the water on a nice summer evening? Then I would definitely recommend hot club! Are you looking for great food, then maybe head elsewhere. I regularly come to hot club for their Tuesday trivia and I enjoy the host and the questions. I find it a good difficulty level although I wish it started earlier than 8! However I always make sure to come after dinner because the times I have had food I haven't been super impressed. However, if you just want a nice place to hang out with fun music and drinks then hot club is definitely the spot for that!

I love this place! Great service, food,people and views. The burgers are awesome and so is most everything else. Fun spot to soke up some sun in the summer.

Food was good, service was so/so, view outside was nice. Went for lunch, got busy by the time i was leaving. Had to order at bar, given a buzzer and had go pick up own food at food window. No one one came to ask if food ok or if we needed anything. Paid at bar when leaving. I had Caesar salad with chicken; was great, big bowl of salad, chicken was blackened and grilled; had a nice kick of spices. My friend had burger with fries, she liked it. My other friend had chicken tacos, which she thought on menu said spicy, but it wasn't. She said they were ok, nothing special. She had a sangria, came in a small plastic cup; was also ok.

Updating a very old review - I am happy that the Hot Club has made vast improvements! The ladies room is now safe, clean, and pleasant! The food was tasty, and the beer was in a clean glass. The staff was courteous and professional.

A fun, divey spot, even on a quiet night, the Hot Club features great city views, cheap drinks, and outstanding bar snacks. What more can you ask for? We stopped in late on a weeknight and settled on their marina-side patio with a couple of vodka sodas. After following that up with a couple local brews, we sampled from their late night menu. The seasoned fries were delicious, but the fried pickles were the standout and a perfect antidote to the beer. Unassuming and comfortable, the Hot Club is a perfect late night spot.

If you're looking for a nice view directly on the water, you've come to the right place! If you're hoping to compliment that view with some good food, you may need to walk on by. We were seated directly facing the Providence River promptly and politely by a masked host, and our masked waitress arrived quickly. So far, so good! Unfortunately the waitress told us their grill was out of commission, so our only choices were fried dishes. Nonetheless we prevailed and ordered: * Fish Nuggets * Clam Roll * Basket of Fries * Stuffed Quahog Actually we didn't order the quahog, but since it came, we tried it. Our comments on the food are: - Fish Nuggets: Very tasty, nice batter, moist fish! - Clam Roll: Terrible, as in did they buy these in the freezer section of a grocery store? They were tough and unappetizing. - Basket of Fries: Very tasty fries, hot and crispy. - Stuffed Quahog: Terrible, dry, almost inedible. I should note they have an abundance of outside seating, both on the water and in the parking lot. They also have seats inside. We mentioned to the waitress that we didn't order the quahog, but it remained on the bill. So I guess the bottom line here is that if you're looking for a nice spot to have a drink, this is a great place. If you're hoping to get some good food, you may be disappointed.

My friends and I came here for drinks one night last week. We got there and it was pretty crowded, but they offered us a picnic table. We ended up staying at one of the picnic tables. We tried opening up the umbrella at our table, but it didn't have a handle on it and wouldn't budge otherwise. A waitress came over to take our order, and we explained that we were having trouble opening the umbrella. She asked if we had ever opened an umbrella before! My friend then asked her if SHE had ever opened an umbrella. She tried to open it herself, wasn't able to, and then walked away. We then called over a different waiter to open our umbrella. He couldn't open it either, so he had to call over the manager, who proceeded to jump on our booth, pull the umbrella out of the table, and shove it open on the ground. What an experience! The drinks were ok.

Love the hot club for lunch! It's the best spot on the river for the view and ambience of a real pub restaurant and still the best burger in RI (IMO). I had the special burger today...had cheese pickles and lettuce and special sauce. Delicious!!!my friend had the fish tacos(my second favorite thing on the menu). She said soooo good! We both enjoyed the seasoned fries! Delightful cooks who brought out our trays and a friendly bartender topped the experience. Love the HC

I have mixed feelings about this place so here they are: Crowd: very strange, gender ratio was off (a lot more men) Drinks: mediocre but bar line was never too long, even when the bar was crowded Atmosphere: a lot of sweaty people, so the bar definitely smelled a lot more than normal; the bar is also right next to the water which is beautiful. In a lot of ways it feels like you're on a boat! Music: good dancing music!

Stopped in for a drink after attending the 44th Annual Cape Verdean Festival (which was alcohol free). The menu here is pretty basic. There's a limited selection of appetizers and then some burgers and sandwiches. People come for the drinks (strong) and the nice views. We were here in a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy. I'm very pleased to see they did a complete overhaul on their bathrooms which were pretty sad last time I was here. Now they're beautiful. Great staff, great place for drinks.

Wonderful place to get your drink on outdoors in nice weather, and a pretty cool place when it's not so nice outside. The food, while maybe not gourmet, is pretty solid. Very diverse crowd, too...from 20somethings to 70somethings, plus there's regular trivia and karaoke. Please note some of the lousy recent reviews...they are a result of Josh Miller, owner of Hot Club and Trinity Brewhouse downtown, supporting recently passed gun control legislation in his "night job" as a state senator. The gun fetishists opposing that legislation are attacking his businesses, including calling in phony reservations at Trinity. Just keep that in mind. (I do not know him personally.)

Delicious (and strong) drinks at a great location! Right along the River, this was a great stop for some afternoon drinks in the sun.

I have a soft spot for Hot Club. I started coming here on occasion when I started medical school and it was a nice post-class drink spot. It's right across the river from the school and the hospital and also really close to where I used to live in Fox Point. When the weather is cooperative, I love having a drink out on their deck on the water. They always have at least one or two nice craft beers on tap along with the standard Bud Light and others, their cocktails are decent, and they have some wine too. Most recently, I introduced some fellow residents to the on-the-water Hot Club experience. First time ordering food here but I'd heard the burger was good so I went with that. Really unsure why they asked how I wanted my burger cooked because I said medium-rare and yet it came out well-done... it must have been just past medium-well because it wasn't awfully dry, but that's still comically far off from what I'd asked for. I was so hungry I didn't care all that much and, surprisingly, the meat actually tasted decent so I didn't complain. They had Rolling in the Clouds by Finback on tap, so that helped too. Staff is always friendly and the service is prompt. They've been doing a good job with COVID keeping tables apart, wearing masks, and sanitizing. Also, not sure why it's named Hot Club, but it's not even close to a club (which I don't mind at all).

The popcorn bin was disgusting my burger bun was stale. The beer was cold but the carbonation seemed off

The hot club is a fun easy restaurant where you can enjoy a drink on the water eat variations of different food, my personal favorite was there delicious buffalo hot wings if you like the heat. The service was good with the welcoming vibe and the ambience was nice. It really added a homey touch to a fun place. The Hot club will have you leaving with a smile on your face and good memories.

Came here for a quick lunch on the water. For a rainy day I was surprised how busy the place was. I didn't think anyone would be in there, but for a pandemic + rainy day there was a decent amount of people. I got a BLT & my boyfriend got a cheeseburger. We also got mozzarella sticks and fries with our lunch. The menu was very small and consisted primarily of bar food- which was fine but this place has the potential to be a great little spot because the BLT was one of the best I ever had and my boyfriend also said his cheeseburger was delicious! They should expand the menu & it could be a decent little restaurant. The waitstaff and servers here were all really nice and checked on us often. They had some pretty cool restrooms which were also very clean. They had a very beautiful salt water fish tank right near the restrooms and I couldn't believe how well kept and beautiful it was! They had a cool drink menu and even ordered frozen drinks which is nice because their one of my favorites! Overall definitely a neat little spot & I would definitely go back!

The staff at The Hot Club are doing a terrific job following all the new Covid guidelines. We felt very comfortable and safe finally enjoying some food and drinks out. Nice views and good basic pub food.

We did not start our day actually looking to patronize this place but we ended up hanging out there as we waited for our Riverboat Cruise. We were a bit confused about the Riverboat entrance and a gentleman from the Hot Club was very kind to provide us with all the details about how to go about accessing the information to get on the boat. He really did not have to do that but because he went out of his way; we decided to have several drinks as we waited for our cruise. The Staff is really cool and quick to take care of you. The weather was great so we visited the outside bar area and were joined by several locals who were having a great time. They were a fun bunch and the drinks kept flowing. We had an excellent view of the river and the dock. Unfortunately we did not order any food but the menu had many options if anyone wants to have food. Maybe next time!!!

Not sure what I expected from a place called The Hot Club but it's dirty, has bad drinks, and bad food. The bar staff was very nice though.

This bar has one of the best waterfront decks in the city. Famous for being the setting of a scene in the movie "There's something about Mary", it has trivia nights, special events and just nice ambiance. We went on Cinco de Mayo since they were offering free tacos with a drink. The tacos were nice soft tacos with ground beef, cheese, lettuce and sour cream. Just for the asking. You can get a beer, cocktail or a non alcoholic beverage and gaze at the growing Providence downtown during the daytime or nighttime. Great setting.

Hot club is the best fit for everyone. You will see everyone from 20s-80s there in business suit to gym clothes. Bar tenders are friendly. Big outside deck! At 830pm they flash their lights to the Childrens hospital across the river to say good night. Can't get better than that.

There are bars with food. There are restaurants that have drinks. Hot Club is a bar with food. The fried pickles I got were turrrible( In my Charles Barkley) voice. They were breaded poorly, had lots of air around the pickles and we're sweet. Plus the amount of pickles were offensive. Like they insulted my intelligence. The cheeseburger was decent. It had bacon on it, when I didn't request it so that was cool. The drinks is where they meet expectations. Got a Cuban breeze with well vodka, amaretto,pineapple juice. Second drink was Canada Club with ginger ale. The deck area is dope. Great view of river,hurricane wall and breeze off river. They have lots of bottles but some of the stuff is things I would never order like flavored vodkas. I would love if they had mint leaves, maraschino liqueur, and chartreuse. All in all OK place to have some drinks. Food leaves something to be desired.

Lovely spot right on the water, perfect place for a casual drink and fried snackies.

I'm biased because I met met my husband there 34 years ago when Tommy Bates was still alive. Great view, one of the best burgers in Providence and you can't beat the view. They give back to the community which is rare these days.

Probably one of the worst ran establishments I've seen in a very long time, management, bouncers are very rude minus the bartenders they are sweet. Obviously when one is out with a friend and drinking they typically follow their friend to the bathroom, Accidentally following my friend into the men's bathroom and immediately realizing that I was in the wrong bathroom so I walk out right away and then as soon as I know it I'm getting escorted with my friend. Insinuating something was happening that was not the case. I then explained the quick confusion to said bouncer and he paid no mind, just quickly dismissed us. Safe to say will not be coming back.

Came here with some friends while in town. Awesome place with some awesome food! Try their burger special for the week! Bread is fresh and tasty as well as the onion rings. Super friendly staff and well priced. Best spot in Providence, not even mentioning the awesome view you can get by the water

Great place by the water! Went here on a Monday night aka karaoke night. There was a decent crowd there and a good vibe. There is some street parking and limited parking in the lot (about 10 to 12 cars) They don't have a drinks menu, mostly just beers on tap and a full bar, so the bartender will make you whatever you want. Drinks are pretty cheap, 2 cocktails and 2 beers came upto 30$ in total. Definitely a good place to hang out outside after work as well. Intrigued by people flashing lights at the hasbro children's hospital story, my friends said they did, but I didn't. Overall cool place to hang out, it's a little away from downtown itself. Also it'd be cool if they did have a drinks menu. I've heard they have a dance floor on the weekends, will prob come back to check that out. Overall 3.5 to 4 stars.

Prime real estate right on the water. The outdoor patio and bar is the best in the city. The Hot Club is my go-to place for outdoor day-drinking. Also, free popcorn? Heck yes! I have always had nothing short of a good time, each time I visit. I cannot attest to the crowd and vibe at The Hot Club at night, but from what I have heard, it can go back and forth. Who doesn't want to sit on the water while enjoying an alcoholic beverage when its warm and sunny out? But be aware, you will either need to get there early or be super diligent when looking for outdoor seating. The limited amount of tables on the deck fill up quickly, along with the seating right at the outdoor bar. If drinking outside isn't your thing, don't worry there is a good amount of seating on the inside. When its not a nice day out or the weather is colder, its always nice to sit inside and enjoy the view from the bar. The crowd varies in age and type of people during the day-drinking hours. It is a fun place with a great location. It can sometimes get packed with a younger crowd when there is something specific going on. The staff is always generally pretty nice, there are a couple of bartenders who are rough around the edges and don't tolerate non-sense. Just be aware that they are all business, especially when it is packed at the outside bar. You will need to know what you want to drink right when you order it, they do not play. Overall, my favorite, go-to bar in Providence. I love posting up and drinking my day away on the deck. Always a ton of fun!

Stopped here for beer and appetizers while staying at the adjacent marina. Great water views and friendly wait staff. Ordered beer, fried pickles, fried cod chunks, and a traditional RI stuffie. You can tell people enjoy coming here.

Hot club is always a spot I keep coming back to. The deck is lovely on a summer evening. Sometimes they have the outside bar open. I actually just discovered the other patio on the other side recently. Friday and Saturday nights can get really crowded. I went on a Monday night and I prefer that better since there were more seats around and no lines to the bathroom. The bathroom is pretty small and dirty. I heard they are expanding it, thankfully. The view is absolutely beautiful. You could see the iconic smoke stacks across the bay. There are boats parked right outside. Parking is very limited so you would have to search for parking on the street. However, I would suggest you lock your doors and take all your belongings because people will break your windows in Providence. This location is pretty cool because it's located near Lola's and Whiskey Republic. The bar is huge and they have a jukebox and karaoke on Monday nights.

How have I not reviewed hot club since it's renovation?!?! I mean I preferred the small red bathroom where girls got cozy and I galways felt happy because all my fellow drunk girls told me I was so pretty, but I guess the new bathroom is more functional. Food, drinks, music and an outdoor deck?! Best place in the city. Love that they are part of good night lights with Hasbro children's hospital too. This is the best place to be in the summer and a nice chill spot in the winter. A providence staple that I can go to with anyone from my new friend to my parents! Update---they have pancakes all day!!!! Yesssssssss alcohol and pancakes at 10pm

Years ago this was the place to go on a nice summer day/evening but it has gone down hill and recent years. Unfortunately they have hit bottom. The service was fine, nothing outstanding but the food and beverage service is abysmal. Time for this place to pack it in and sell to someone that can run a business appropriately.

My first time at Hot Club at night last night (12/21). I wanted to let you know how much you failed a group of women last night. After defending ourselves against a guy, who wouldn't take a hint that my friend wasn't interested , and asked "why we were there if we were in relationships" (because women only have value if they're single) you asked US to leave. You didn't 1) Ask what was going on 2) If we were okay and you let the guy stay. Do better. MONITOR the room. Take note of when women come in. Is a guy with them? Is there a new guy in the picture? Do they seem comfortable? Read body language. After we were escorted out a male bouncer listened to what happened and gave the classic answer "I get it I have 2 sisters" WOW. Good for you. You clearly don't get it. Be better. Never going back.

Best burger in PVD. Nice selection of beer's, have been going there for over 30 years. Now my children are customers. And they are loving it

Hot Club is the best club and if you don't think so well then you clearly came here looking for a dance floor. What you are going to get here is: Prime. People. Watching. Great food. Views on views. Extremely sweet staff. Assholes on jet skis. Douche bags on their boats.
