The Hotel at Avalon truly delivers a five-star experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was struck by the elegant, modern design and welcoming atmosphere. The lobby is stunning, the rooms are beautifully appointed, and every detail—from the plush bedding to the upscale amenities—reflects thoughtful care and luxury. The service was exceptional—friendly, professional, and always ready to help. The location is another huge plus: steps away from great dining, shopping, and entertainment in the Avalon district. Whether you're in town for business, a getaway, or a special event, this hotel is a standout choice. Can’t recommend it highly enough. I’ll absolutely be back!

We loved our stay. This hotel is in a great location. We went away for the weekend for wine tasting north of the hotel and this was a great stop on our way back home to Atlanta. The highlight was the 2 lovely bar attendees at the pool Kyla and Adleigh who was very personable. The tequila event was also great. The pool was excellent as well as the room. This was our first time at this establishment and was quite enjoyable. We will consider staying at this hotel once again.

This hotel is amazing! Beautiful property that you immediately notice the style and class on arrival. Had the pleasure of being welcomed by Edith and meeting the general manager Kathryn. I spent 4 days at this hotel on business, the truly it felt like a vacation. I loved having Starbucks in the morning and then heading to the extensive fitness center with new pelotons. Dinner and a nightcap in the hotel restaurant was also great. I would love to visit again sometime as a vacation.

We are frequent guests at the hotel and something has changed. I have never visited this establishment and it wasn’t clean and inviting. We were given a room on the 11th floor that had the appearance of a low budget hotel. The room was NOT clean thoroughly. There was long hair in the shower and on the toilet. The rug had dirty spots on it. The beds had ripped covering on the box spring. I’m not sure what was going on with the air conditioner, but it finally cooled off. The elevator was malfunctioning, but Lexes finally fixed that. There were no trash bags in the trash bins. We call down stairs for some, and it took hours to receive them. The only reason I didn’t request to be moved to another room, is because there was a conference being held at the hotel on Monday, and I didn’t think rooms would be available. I have been to this hotel many times when it was busy and the outcome was much better, so I’m not sure busyness was an issue. I did share my concerns with Lexes, as we were checking out. An apology or how could we accommodate you would have been nice to hear, but I don’t recall hear such. I’m not difficult to please, nor am I looking to get something for nothing. My perspective is, you are expecting me to buy in to what you are selling, I do that based on your sells pitch. But when I arrive it’s different than what you market to me. Well, we need to have a discussion regarding such, because I’m not paying for accommodations and amenities that aren’t available. So telling your guests you understand and sorry that the experience wasn’t great is exhausting. How about resolving the issue(s) and you guests will know that you heard their voice and you care about their stay, not just the money.

I’m a bride getting married on August 31 and was very excited to book a room at Hotel at Avalon with the romance package for our wedding night. We are doing a helicopter exit from our reception and simply needed pricing information to land the helicopter at the hotel. I called multiple times and even emailed an inquiry, but despite being told several times that someone would call me back with the price, no one ever did. It’s extremely disappointing, as we were really looking forward to celebrating such a special night here. Sadly, due to the lack of follow-up and communication, we will have to make other arrangements.

We have stayed there several times in the past few years and love coming back. Warm and friendly service at front desk, the ladies are always super attentive. Som, Dennica, Alberta and Lexis do an amazing job. Comfortable and clean rooms, great service, food and drinks at South City Kitchen and the absolute best location in Alpharetta! We love it and can’t wait to go back!

While I have always been a huge Marriott fan, this was my first visit to this particular hotel and I was not disappointed! The beauty of the hotel speaks for itself, so I will focus on the service I received. From the moment I arrived, the valet team, specifically Nate, made me feel welcomed, as though he was expecting me and I was returning home! At this time I did not even have a reservation. I had seen the hotel while visiting the shopping area and was so impressed I went in to talk to the receptionist about the possibility of reserving a room for an upcoming return visit to the city.|At the front desk I was greeted by Dennica, who truly adds value to the team team. I was met with such warmth that I truly felt as though I was family. She and her managers, Irene Lopez and Tiara, assisted me in completing my arrangements and ensuring my needs were met during my stay . My arrival date would be a month later and I left feeling assured that my upcoming stay would be one to remember. And just as I expected, when I returned for my stay about a month later, I was greeted by Dennica with genuine excitement to have me back. I felt special and that is always a good feeling.|Julian took my bags to my room. Again, talking with Julian on the way to the room was like talking to family. It was always a pleasure being greeted by him. My daily encounters with Daysha and Lexes were also enjoyable. They were always willing to assist. This team gives the impression that they are here to serve because they want to be here. I've visited many hotels and that has not always been the case. I did not capture any of the names of the housekeeping team but they deserve recognition as well. The bottom line is, this beautiful hotel has an amazing team!

We had a truly wonderful experience at Avalon. The location and scenery is fantastic. The atmosphere is friendly, welcoming and energetic. The amenities are over the top. It has a Starbucks, restaurant, beautiful lounge and a relaxing bar. There are too many amenities to list. Numerous conference rooms line the halls. Many luxury cars fill the parking garage. The rooms are very spacious & luxurious. Comforting with the feel of home. The Avalon is the place to be especially on the weekends. Come on down, you'll be glad you stayed at The Hotel at Avalon.

Yelp
I set out to have a luxurious, relaxing weekend, and the Hotel at Avalon delivered on every level! This wasn't my first time staying here, and it definitely won't be my last. Each visit reminds me why this Autograph Collection Hotel stands out as my go-to destination for pure comfort and indulgence. I originally planned to arrive early to get a jump start on my weekend, but sometimes, life happens. I arrived later than expected, yet the late check-in was no problem at all. Even at that hour, the staff was as warm and welcoming as ever, making me feel instantly at home. A lovely lady named Erah checked me in, and she was an absolute gem! Not only was she incredibly sweet, but she also went out of her way to provide toiletries I'd lost on the journey. It's small gestures like these that make all the difference and make you feel truly valued as a guest. To my surprise, I was upgraded to a 12th-floor executive suite. This gesture was the cherry on top, and I truly felt like they were rolling out the red carpet for me. It's as if they were saying, "We love having you here, and we want you to come back again and again!" The suite was immaculate, and I did my usual room checks. Everything was pristine--fresh, clean, and beautifully prepared, the perfect setting for an amazing weekend ahead. Safety is a top priority for me when I travel, and this hotel excels in that area as well. I appreciate that the property has robust security measures in place. Access to guest areas is closely monitored, so you can't just roam the hallways. There's a real sense of security, which allows you to relax fully and enjoy your stay without a second thought. It's amazing to think back and remember when this property was first being built. It seemed like it took forever, but now it stands as a landmark in Avalon. The hotel has become such an integral part of the area, adding a sophisticated vibe to the entire community. Over the weekend, I indulged in everything Avalon has to offer. Yes, some shops have come and gone, but I never felt like options were lacking. I enjoyed incredible dining experiences, sampled some delicious treats, and found unique, trendy clothing in nearby boutiques. To top it all off, I wrapped up my weekend with a visit to a fabulous spa, which was the perfect final touch to this luxurious escape. The entire weekend felt like it was designed just for me, and the Hotel at Avalon made sure I felt like royalty. From the welcoming staff to the luxurious suite and the ideal location, every detail added up to a flawless stay. Hotel at Avalon, you sure know how to make a girl feel wanted. Keep up the magnificent work! Until we meet again... #ashsaidit

Yelp
I stayed here for a work event and even though there was a mix up with my reservation, the front desk was relentless in figuring it out for me and making sure I had a place to stay. I really appreciated that! Overall the best place to stay if you are going to be in Alpharetta for work and want to stay somewhere that's work/life friendly. Walk outside and all of Avalon is right there. Parking options are self parking for $17/night or valet a $25/night. Self parking is hard to find and has changed since the last time I stayed at this hotel. If you're approaching the hotel from the outside the self parking lot is to your left next to the woodhouse spa area. It was easy and I preferred it to valet. The gym is a bit small for a hotel this size, but it is decent. I heard a lot of guys complaining about it in the elevator and agree that it's not great if you're trying to do serious weight lifting, but it is fine for treadmill use. I was also happy to see two peloton bikes which I used when I was there. There's a water machine in the gym to refill your reusable water bottles but I don't remember there being cups so bring your own bottle! I'm adding photos of the gym because that always helps me plan before I stay at hotels. There's a Starbucks and south city kitchen restaurant in the hotel. Great breakfast options! Overall I'd recommend this place.

Yelp
I came to Alpharetta for a meeting for a week with several people from all over the country. We all stayed in the area but the few of us that stayed at the Marriott Avalon had so many advantages. Alpharetta is an hour from the ATL airport so the Uber is $100+ dollars. However if you are staying here then you may not need to go anywhere else. There is valet and a garage at the hotel outdoor mall. The mall is hopping and upscale. Not Gucci fancy, but Kendra Scott and Anthropologie fancy... think rich white lady who dresses casual. There is a Starbucks adjacent to the lobby. The best part is you can pre-order on the app, which means it's probably a real Starbucks. It's also nice that you can sit in the hotel lobby after you order because there is a lot of squishy seating in the lobby is beautiful. I experienced great service and thought the rooms were clean and adorable. The higher up you stay the better the views of course. Literally had no problems in three days. I stand a lot of hotels and this was definitely a top experience.

Yelp
This upscale hotel is very well situated among the Avalon shops. Lots of parking available in the garage but valet is available. Front desk staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean and well appointed with an art deco feel. I have stayed here a few times and enjoyed each visit. The South City Kitchen that is attached is also very convenient and super delicious, albeit expensive. The only downside is that it is ALWAYS packed. This is not a place for relaxation, but a place to be a part of the shopping action.

Stopped in for after dinner drinks and dessert, very relaxing seating, a good crowd and friendly service

Yelp
I was in town visiting friends this pat summer and stayed at the Avalon this for a few nights. First of all, what a scene! I didn't expect the music and crowds but it gave it a hip and fun atmosphere which was very cool. Service was really great and the rooms were modern and comfortable. They have valet parking but there is also self park a short block away. The location is key as it's in a big Avalon shopping center with great options for dining and shopping. If you go for a walk while you are there, definitely walk by the single family homes. The gardens are beautiful.

Yelp
I am a Marriot Platinum Elite Member and have stayed here a number of times and recommended to other. I have also been there for team business events at. NEVER AGAIN! I recommended that my son and his girlfriend stay there a few weeks back. They were treated poorly by the hotel staff on more than one occasion - including manager! They even screwed up the romance package if you can believe that. Marriot Elite. Stay somewhere else.

Yelp
I visited the Avalon this week as part of a three day corporate meeting. The staff overall was very friendly with two employees in specific (Biruk and Raul) that went over and above to accommodate the needs of my team and I while we were on site. From the moment I pulled into Valet, Biruk anticipated our needs, helping me coordinate unloading two separate vehicles, secure some last minute supplies we had forgot at the office and even helped me find Tylenol a different day. All things that were above and beyond his role and made my experience amazing. Once in our meeting space, Raul was attentive to our needs, helped us bring in and take supplies we were using throughout our meeting. In addition, the property was beauty and the area is very walkable having nearly every shop and type of restaurant you can ask for to entertain yourself as a guest or for a team function. I highly recommend the Avalon Hotel for your next stay!

Yelp
A last minute booking turned into lasting memories! This was my love's 44th birthday staycation and we had a blast. Just 24 hours at the Avalon was the break we needed. Great atmosphere, amazing food & drinks and our fellow guests were too much fun! Started with valet and check-in at 4 PM Saturday. Jamie helped us with our car and Edith at check-in. Now, there was a youth pageant going on that had the hotel super busy but we were quickly checked in and ushered to the service elevator because the America's Ideal Miss National Pageant was in full swing at The Hotel at Avalon. It didn't deter us to enjoy the getaway we craved (but explained the spike in $$$ for room reservations). I mentioned the occasion was my sweetie's birthday and they surprised us with a bottle of Prosecco in the room. Later we received comp food and drinks coupons valued at $30 for South City Kitchen on site (I'm a Marriott Bonvoy member). We ended up eating a late lunch at Kona Grill, drinks at the hotel pool, then a late dinner at South City Kitchen. The next day (Sunday) we slept in, had breakfast at Cafe Intermezzo, then did some shopping once retailers opened at noon. Ended the day back at the pool too drink & relax. Other guests were doing the same and we easily made some friends. Shots, conversation and just sharing our favorite places out & about as we were all residents in GA! Thanks to Sydney and the pool bar staff for great cocktails and service. Time to checkout (4 PM late checkout) and had our luggage held at concierge so we could grab a bite at Cape. Charcuterie board and some cocktails hit the spot. We left with a send off from Edith and more Ooey Gooey Pecan cookies! Ask about them. I highly recommend staying here for the convenience, attention to detail, lots of return/repeat guests, great restaurant, a Starbucks on site and the luxury car eye candy throughout the Avalon. You can park and walk the entire stay because there's plenty to explore. Our room was immaculate, we had all the channels on TV & a great view of the strip. My only suggestion is to check for events in the area which may create more activity & crowds. We'll be back!

Bec G.

Yelp
The hotel itself is beautiful and the beds are comfortable. However, the amenities are not good. The shower faucets are loose and when you turn them, they don't stay in place and instead drip to a scalding temperature. When you try to report that- the phones in the room? 'For show'. You have to go to the lobby of your floor to use a phone. We woke up with no hot water throughout the entire hotel. For hours. For the price point- I expected MUCH more.

Yelp
I stayed here for a staycation and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was able to have an early check-in and a room upgrade. I arrived a bit early and the staff allowed me to leave my bags and explore the area. The hotel is located near a bunch of shops and restaurants. Once my room was ready I received a call from the hotel and I was able to check in right away. My room was very clean and the view was really nice of the Avalon. I had such a great stay. I was able to walk to the Woodhouse Spa and then grab dinner and a movie while all in walking distance to the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel. I also ordered room service and was able to have a later checkout. The hotel is beautiful and definitely worth the stay.

Yelp
Great hotel and bar. Always fun and friendly. Today, one bartender was strangely foul and created a negative atmosphere. MJ, I think was having a bad day.

Yelp
I've stayed at The Hotel at Avalon multiple times now. The employees at check in are always super welcoming and friendly. The hotel is both modern and elegant with smart decor. It's beautifully decorated around the holidays. The rooms are very modern with large windows, a mini fridge, keurig, and lovely toiletries. I love the convenience of the Starbucks on the ground level. The bar is wonderful with some very skilled bartenders. There is valet and self parking. The self parking is in an adjacent parking garage which I felt was very clean and safe. I look forward to coming back and staying here again!

Yelp
I stay primarily at Marriott properties when I travel. When you stay at a Marriott, there is an expected level of service and quality customers come to expect. The Avalon raises that bar. Everything in the hotel, from the front door to my room, caught my attention. I am noticing a trend where in hotels, they will have large lobbies that cater to check-in shift to large lobbies with generous seating for socializing and expanded bar areas. Avalon is riding this newer trend. Check-in/out was seamless. The bar attracts guests and locals. I was just staying for the night, but the experience was fantastic. Look forward to future stays.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel. Very well-kept. Love the location surrounded by all the stores and restaurants nearby. Very convenient to get to the Starbucks. Everything was so clean and so fresh. Highly recommend. Will definitely come back

Yelp
Hotel is beautiful and service in restaurant was excellent as was the food. Service at bar is mediocre at best. Disinterested bartenders and almost disengaged. Spent years as a hotel senior executive and know service. F&B was good in Restaurant. Housekeeping was good. Took long time for items and had to put in requests multiple times for some things. Hotel is busy but staff seem to handle in general. Room was nice and very few amenities. Noisy at best. Spent two nights with loud noises from room next to us with different guests. Can hear the guest snoring in adjacent room. Not very insulated. Did call desk because did not want to wake up others in our room. Reported to staff. Comment was guests left. No apology nothing. Would stay again but will bring a sound machine. Corner rooms even were noisy.

Yelp
Just called South City Kitchen 6:45 AM to cancel a 10:00 brunch reservation that is secured with my credit card. I have to cancel as my husband is preparing for emergency surgery for a kidney stone. The call was rolled to the hotel reception as the restaurant doesn't open for another 12 minutes. The receptionist told me I'd have to call back rather than simply taking a message and letting the restaurant know.

Yelp
We hosted our annual staff retreat here at The Hotel at Avalon. Donna from the Banquets & Events department could not have been more amazing. She ensured the entire team was taken care of the entire time we were on property. We had a lovely experience in both our hotel rooms and the on property conference room (Goswick). The location of the hotel could not be any more convenient - we ate our breakfast, lunches and dinners within the Avalon. So wonderful to be close to everything. Thank you to the entire team! Also a special shout out to the wonderful bellman, Julian! We hope to return soon!

Yelp
The hotel was beautiful. This was my second time staying however my experience with the front desk staff was horrible. The decision to stay here was last minute because I couldn't drive my full 13 hr trip. I thought this place would be good resting place because I've stayed here before. That was not the case it was a nightmare. My cards were improperly charged and I attempted to explain for over an hour after checking out what occurred. It wasn't until I said I was law enforcement that they said they would contact me after they figured it out. The staff had no regard for how they humiliated me in front of other customers. (Staff: Dennica and Kiara)

Yelp
The Hotel at Avalon is my in town Staycation. I love the ambiance and the proximity to restaurants and shopping.

Yelp
I thought it would be fun to take the family and dogs to a nice hotel for Christmas Eve so we could walk around the property. I chose Hotel Avalon which is part of the autograph collection. I was expecting modern and eclectic. The lobby is beautiful and so is the hotel bar. Other than that, I was very unimpressed. I had booked the executive king, and I was expecting a lot more. The room is very small, it was just OK. Their satellite TV or whatever subscription had ended so we couldn't even get live channels. They don't have routine things like little bottles of lotion even in the bathroom. Although clean, I was very underwhelmed. I have spoken to other people who say the same thing about this hotel. It was honestly quite disappointing. The staff was pretty friendly but I definitely would drive a little further out for a better hotel experience next time. jJust because it's at the Avalon doesn't make it good.

Yelp
Review of stay on 7/25-7/26, 2020 Overall this is a clean, newer, & upscale hotel, at a reasonable price. They have a high attention to detail when it comes to Covid-19. Pros - check in was quick and efficient, with a strong emphasis on social distancing. The room was "sealed" with a sticker across the door to indicate a thorough cleaning, the tv remote was sterilized & shrink wrapped (awesome!), and the room was generally very clean. I always appreciate a hotel room with a solid surface floor too, instead of carpet, so this was perfect. Even though the hotel was full, the room was quiet. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Neutral - self parking was $12 and a few minute walk (somewhat expected). The bathroom door was a modern sliding barn door style, which didn't lock and could start opening a little. Not a big deal for us, but you gotta love locks, LOL. The location is awesome for walkable shopping, dining, bars, and entertainment. This is a great hotel for a "staycation" type of weekend getaway.

Yelp
We stayed at The Hotel at Avalon for our anniversary staycation during Covid-19. We booked from a third-party site, and didn't have any issues. I called the day of to confirm and to ask what amenities and services are available. Everything was closed except for the restaurant, South City Kitchen. They read in our notes that we were celebrating our anniversary so they upgraded our room to a higher floor with a better view, and let us know that we could check in early since our room was ready. We were assigned room 735 and the view is quite beautiful. You can see highway 400 from the room. Decor is tastefully done. The floor to ceiling glass windows allow a lot of natural light in. The room has dark hardwood floors, a comfortable king bed, a sitting area, a desk with a single cup coffee maker, a flat screen TV, and more. It also came with an iron, but we didn't find an ironing board. Fortunately, there was a steamer. Safety precautions were in place. Social distancing was enforced and only two people on the elevator at a time were allowed (highly encouraged). The staff was very friendly and attentive throughout our stay. They brought us water bottles and extra towels when we asked for them. Garage parking is $12/day next to the conference center. Valet parking wasn't available at the time of our visit. There was no sign indicating that nor anyone to tell us, so it was a bit frustrating to arrive and wait for valet that never arrived. Other guests were confused as well. Other than that, we had a very wonderful stay, and would love to stay again!

Yelp
Great spot. Stay here often. Recently there's been some speed bumps with service and rooms but they always make it right!

Yelp
I have a reservation to stay here and when filling out the online reservation form, I was asked the name, address, and email of the second person in the room!! Although it is my husband, I felt it was none of anyone's business. However, when I left it blank, it required that I complete the form with the name and personal info of the second person. I did that. THEN, to my dismay (this was going to be a surprise for my spouse), a confirmation email was sent to me AND to him (including pricing). I have stayed at many hotels and many Marriotts (am a Bonvoy member) and have NEVER been asked who is sharing the room with me (AND I had used MY credit card). To make matters worse, when I called to express my disappointment, the mailboxes were full. The third call got me to the front desk manager who explained this is how they do this. Even just trying to get through to someone, left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Kelsey T.

Yelp
Our room had no ac. They had to come in and fix it after calling the front desk 3 times. By 930pm it was working. By 1230 it was broken again, we paid for a corner king suite & at 130am we were moved to a dinky little room with 2 full size beds. Ive called multiple times, emailed and havd recieved no communication. We were told at checkout someone would call to discuss the stay & its been over 3 weeks and have heard nothing.

Yelp
It was time for a night away with my best girlfriends to just relax and catch up on life. We wanted to stay local and didn't want to deal with ubers so we selected this hotel as we could park and then walk everywhere for drinks, dinner and shopping. We really enjoyed the pool area with the chairs in the pool and the poolside bar for the best drinks. South City Kitchen is one of Atlanta's finest restaurants and they have a location right inside the Hotel. You must try the grouper entree and the shrimp & grits! The hotel is very modern and we really enjoyed the sitting areas to relax in after dinner. The staff was super friendly and accomodating for all of our requests. Grab your friends and head on over this weekend!

Yelp
Spent 3 nights here on a business trip recently and it was - for the most part - a fabulous stay!! Easy check-in, super nice staff and the entry way/lobby are really nice. The room is on the smaller side, but the space is well appointed and very comfortable. Everything was clean and neat, as you expect from a hotel like this. Lots of food and shopping options are right outside the hotel - the hotel anchors one end of a very nice outdoor mall. I did not have a chance to eat at the hotel, but it looked very nice. The bar is first class, the bar staff are top notch and it's a very comfortable space. One small issue - had an early flight on my last day and there was no hot water :( That said, I look forward to staying here again!!

Yelp
Love the Avalon, and finally had a chance to stay at their newest hotel due to a work function here (Connect Georgia Conference). It's part of the Autograph Collection, so I had high hopes of it being nice (stayed at an Autograph property in Chicago that was certainly boutiquish). I'll start with the bad: - Parking sucks, unless you valet. The self-park deck is a little bit of a walk, which is past the attached conference center - My room tv did not work at all. Seriously, the one time I actually just wanted to watch tv, I couldn't - I couldn't take the shampoo, body wash or conditioner with me. They have them mounted to the wall in the bathroom. - That leaves me to think, gross, somebody can tamper with these - My room telephone was missing off the receiver. I didn't need it but good thing I didn't need room service. - The king sized bed I had booked was not available when I checked in The good: - The decor in the hotel lobby and room is very modern and upscale - Customer service during my visit was above par - The weight room had more than one treadmill and a few machines to use (although space is very odd inside of it) - The rooftop pool area is very nice (too cold for use) - The bag and coat check area was convenient, especially during the conference so I didn't have to go all the way back up to my room - The Barley Garden Kitchen & Tap is RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE HOTEL - The sitting area in the lobby had a fireplace going, music and a beautiful holiday setting Overall, I had a great stay here and enjoyed some nice perks (including a free skate pass and free drink ticket to Cru or Barley). It was more of a novelty for me to stay here due to how close I live to the Avalon. Pricing wasn't too crazy. Certainly worth it if you have a conference here or doing business in the area. The Avalon has everything you need right next door.

Yelp
Very nice hotel. Easy check in, clean rooms and comfortable bed. They have a separate garage for the hotel right across for easy in and out. Friendly staff and nice ambience.

Yelp
The Hotel at Avalon, Autograph is always a great place to stay if you want to get away but don't want to have to travel far. Satisfies that going out of town feeling. Good restaurants and shops to browse at the Avalon. Outdoor Ice skating ring on the holidays. A little something for everybody. Ideal place for date night.

Yelp
This is quite possibly the worst hotel experience I've ever had. We stayed at the Hotel at Avalon for our honeymoon. They ruined our honeymoon. For the amount of money we spent, I couldn't be more disappointed. The service was horrendous. We never received anything we requested. We had to call multiple times to remind them to do things that they ultimately just didn't do. We've had better experiences at lower tier hotels. I am honestly disgusted that this hotel is viewed as such a wonderful place to stay. Terrible hotel. Terrible service. Small rooms. Save your money and go elsewhere. All that glitters is not gold.

Yelp
I stayed at The Hotel at Avalon, Autograph Collection, Friday, March28-30, 2023. I was very disappointed. The amenities in the room were lacking to say the least. There was no bar soap or soft soap by the sink. There was soap, shampoo, and conditioners in the shower, but the names were rubbed oof. I asked the cleaning person for soap, but she did not speak enough English to understand what I wanted. There was one small bar of facial soap. There were two people in the room; I prefer not to use someone else's soap. Both of us in the room are senior citizens and there were no handles or bar to hold onto in shower. I was later told i had to request a handicap room for that. I was shocked to see that they used the cheapest toilet paper, Scott. I expect to have all luxuries of a quality hotel. At home I use ultra soft Charmin. I do not recommend this hotel.

Yelp
My first visit to Georgia and this hotel did not disappoint! Came for a family wedding and this was the hotel friends and family stayed. Great location with shopping and food all right there. The hotel was beautifully decorated, from the lobby, to the elevators, and the rooms. Bed was very comfortable! I think my favorite thing was finding a clothing steamer in the room! Nice touch! I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
The Hotel at Avalon is a beautiful hotel in Avalon Alpharetta. It's walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants. Room was very clean and modern. They have a South City Kitchen restaurant and bar downstairs, which is very convenient.

Yelp
Very happy with our stay. Coming in from NYC, we really had no idea what the Avalon center was. Really cool retail, bar/restaurant, and apartment community with a hotel. Lobby bar was lively; on-premise restaurant was good. Walked around the whole external development -- music playing throughout, lots of outdoor fireplaces, etc. Only confusing things was parking -- we had trouble finding the hotel and figuring out where to park. Good news was there was no charge for parking. This area is great either for locals looking for entertainment or travelers looking for a pleasant spot while on a business trip.

Yelp
Stayed here recently in a wedding block and I was satisfied with my experience. First impressions mean a lot and we were greeted by a friendly valet employee who provided good information to me while I waited for my wife to check in. Our room was ready on time, which it should be, but sometimes some places are running late as of lately with labor shortages. With my Marriott status, my room was upgraded to a bigger room on the top floor, and I'm glad it was. Even for a "larger" room it still felt a little smaller than I thought it would be. It wasn't tight but just didn't fell large to me. With that said, the room itself was designed very nicely. Great bathroom setup, out of the way workspace, large; smart tv, nice lounge chair and a comfortable bed. The staff was very friendly throughout the visit and the location of the hotel is very good. Tons of shops, bars, restaurants and other places of business surround this property in a neat, cleanly environment. It felt fake in a way as landscaping was precise, music sounded from fake rocks within that landscaping, cars respecting people crossing roads and white light strings criss crossing from million dollar townhouses as I walked past the Tesla, Apple and Peloton stores. My main knock, which tons of hotels do that I disagree with is: Charge for parking $12 to self park per day or $18 per day to valet adds up. Has nothing to do with the money, just the principle of it pisses me off.

Yelp
I had high hopes. I've heard great things about the Avalon area. The hotel is tucked away in the middle of the Avalon "town center". I was confused by parking as I pulled into the parking deck and it said NO HOTEL PARKING. I gave up and just used the valet. I walked into the hotel and there was even more confusion. There was SO much going on. There is a loud, busy bar to your right. Big giant book shelves in front of you and there were professional photographers everywhere for some sort of photo shoot. I could not find the check in. After I wandered around I figured out that it's at the back behind the book cases. Here are the pros/cons: Pros: Very modern and well decorated Check in staff was very friendly and speedy The hair and body products are awesome. Although they are in a dispenser in the shower. So it's less waste but you can't take any little bottles with you. Gym, pool, restaurant and Starbucks on the premises I had dinner at the bar downstairs and they were wonderful. Two very drunk guys wandered in and began harassing me. Security was ON it. (Thank you for keeping me safe). There are white, fluffy robes :) Cons: The alarm clock was set for 5am. NOT by me. That wasn't fun. They did not turn the clock off The phone was missing from the base. So I had no way to order room service or contact the front desk I had a crummy view for the price The lobby is LOUD and overwhelming The water in the room is $6 per bottle Although I got harassed by the 2 guys who were non guests, they did not ask them to leave and said they would not serve ME or the guys any more alcohol. Like what did I do? I don't get to relax and have cocktails often so I was enjoying my moment and keeping to myself. Pretty crappy. I only stayed here bc the Embassy Suites I normally stayed at was booked up. This was a nice property but didn't completely "blow my skirt up" and I most likely won't stay here again unless my go to hotel is already booked.

Yelp
We stayed here for my daughters wedding. The staff was wonderful. This is a beautiful hotel in a fabulous location. The bar staff were great. The restaurant had delicious food and friendly staff. The valet parking guys were awesome. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

Yelp
If you are a south park fan, this place is literally Soda Sopa. I was worried about safety and decided to book a place further away from the heart of Atlanta. This neighborhood looks extremelyyyyy SAFE. Upon pulling up to the hotel, we asked valet where self-parking was and he directed my husband past the starbucks. Just keep driving along the hotel and you will reach the parking lot. $10 for parking. The decor is amazing with bookshelves and flowers. This is a great place for people who love to instagram everything. Hotel staff was friendly. We checked in at 2 Am and were the only customers. The room was also amazing. The bathroom door is a sliding barn door. The wallpaper next to the toilet is a library full of books. The bathroom mirror has bright lights and I love the pretty white trim on it. Everything was so pretty and modern. I wish my bedroom looked like this!!! The soap and hair products smelled good and they had white robes in the closet. The bed was comfortable and the pillows fluffy. The view out the window was not great, I got to trees and the highway as well as the back of the building with maintenance stuff. The pool looked lovely from the window but too bad we didn't have time to use the pool. My only complaint was that the girl at the front desk did not tell me that when she charged the $10 parking fee to my room, the hotel key is what we had to stick into the parking thing. I wasted my time when I checked out and realized I didn't know how to exit the lot. I ran out to the front desk and the guy told me just use the room key. After running back to the parking lot, it turns out our room key did not go through so I just pressed the help button. He let me out. I'm on a tight schedule so things like this should have been explained to me upon check-in.

Yelp
Sarah at the front desk said she just quit to get a job in banking because the management see the guests as sheep. "Money filled people that should accept what they get because the hotel has a good location." I called the front desk tonight for room service and the lady put me on hold for 5 minutes then hung up on me. I called back to order and she told me that I should order from Uber eats then gave the phone to a man that said the same then hung up on me. When you see the prices of this hotel you will agree that the customer service should be a touch above the motel 6, but in reality they are worse and less appreciative than a hotel that cares about the price they pay to stay. I have stayed all over the world at some of the best hotels and resorts and some of the not so great but I've never stayed somewhere that the front desk clerk couldn't remember the name of her manager or anyone in charge to talk to. The best I got was "I don't know their name but I'll pass along your message that you would like to hear from them and there's a chance they will get in touch with you". This is a money pit with no customer service and multiple basic items like Ice that should be provided to guests. The ice machine was also out and unplugged. The room service and guest reception is non-existent. The bar staff is incredibly rude and less than friendly. Victoria acted like ordering a drink or food was a struggle for her to find the time to provide service. Rude and would hide on her cell phone for 20 minutes at a time instead of providing service to customers. In a nutshell, if you want a good location this hotel is good. If you are accustomed to having the perks that come with price this is a solid Roadway Inn with an attitude. Too many options for this area to be taken by such a pit of management that doesn't even know their team.

Yelp
I booked this hotel for a business trip because it was close to where I was going and looked nice enough. I was super excited to find that the front of the hotel opens up to shops and restaurants wirh patios. I never made it to the pool. Rooms small (even the larger one) but for my purposes perfectly fine. Bed was comfy. Nice Molton brown products. I wouldn't say luxury hotel but perfectly clean and very Nice. Great for business trip. I loved all of the action downstairs and the food in restaurant awesome. However, I do wish during the day there was somewhere in the lobby to sit where the music wasn't blaring super loud. There was a small area next to the restrooms that was better and I could answer the phone without people thinking I was in a club. But the main lobby is so nice. I would have loved to sit there if the music was turned down just ever so slightly at least during the day. Staff are friendly! The location just can't be beat!

Yelp
Wow. When it comes to best bang for your buck, The Hotel at Avalon in Alpharetta, GA is where it's at!! Right upon entry, my partner and I were incredibly impressed with the decor and customer service. We were in Atlanta to see Aerosmith play at the Super Bowl Music Fest, and did not arrive for check-in until after 2 AM. The two front desk attendants, Jasmine and Shenorah, greeted us warmly, registered us efficiently, and were knowledgeable about the area. It was some of the best and most memorable customer service we had ever had at a hotel stay. The room was fabulous! Absolutely gorgeous! The shower was huge, with lovely toiletries. The large, attached bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash probably help to keep costs down because our stay was very affordable for how sweet the room was. The bathroom also had a lighted vanity mirror for makeup application. My partner and I enjoyed luxuriating in the soft robes after our refreshing shower. There was an enormous TV through which you could sign in to your Google account and play your Netflix--the sign in was a bit complicated compared to some other hotels offering streaming services but I figured it out eventually. We were too late to order breakfast delivery but they had several options. This was our second stay in an "Autograph Collection" hotel, and we will continue to choose these hotels whenever possible. They do not disappoint!

Yelp
Why 5 stars? Because this is a great place to feel swanky in the suburbs. --- --- --- I was in town to work an event at this hotel and was quite pleased to see Hotel Avalon was within my budget and available! This hotel was incredibly nice - it felt like a place that I definitely would not be able to afford to stay at. Everything feels and looks brand new. The lighting is modern - bright enough for good photos but dark enough to not showcase blemishes. The wallpaper is cool too - the bathroom is made to look like a library. Glass shower doors and wood floors are always an aesthetic hit. Basically, this place is swanky all-around. But the big things for me when it comes to a hotel - is the bed comfortable and does the room actually get cold, or is it one of those thermostats that you can lower into the 60's, but it's still like 75 in the room? I'm happy to say that the bed was delightful and the room chilled like an ice box. The lobby is super lively - you definitely do not feel like you're staying way out in the burbs. But there was also an area that was much more chill. My colleagues and I hung out here after our event to reflect and enjoy all of the work we just put in. It was a great place to un-wind, but if you were into something with more energy, you could walk about 100 feet and be right where you'd want to be. Nearby you have all the restaurants and shopping that you could ever ask for. This is definitely an awesome spot that I wouldn't hesitate to stay at again!

Yelp
We arrived around 11 pm after a long day. The hotel is not doing room service because of Covid but the lobby and bar were packed. No social distancing and no masks despite signs saying masks are mandatory. This hotel is not following Covid protocol so stay at our own risk.
