London’s New Restaurant Openings

"What used to be a Victorian police station on Chiswick High Road is now The Hound—a British pub and restaurant serving things like beer-battered fish and chips and flat iron steak. It’s from the same people behind The Cadogan Arms and The George, so we’re expecting good things." - sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

Went for roast dinner on Sunday. Sat in the beautiful courtyard outside. The most efficient service I’ve had in a long time. They took our drinks order straight away and drinks came quickly. Food came very quickly after ordering. Every single staff member was lovely. Had the beef and pork - both were fantastic. Only improvement is the food, particularly veg was lukewarm, verging on cold. Really nice glass of house red. Would definitely recommend.

Second time for Sunday Roast. Probably my favourite after moving to West London 18momths ago. Beef, lamb and pork are all delicious. Tasty gravy with bone marrow. Great scotch egg, croquette and fish and chips as well. Lovely decor and dining area at the back that's covered but open.

Unfortunately, the chicken I ordered was so salty that after just a small taste I had to leave it. The wine on tap was £10 per glass, which is surprising — for that price you could easily buy a decent bottle. Sorry, but I really can’t recommend this place.

For the second time, the food was disappointing: lukewarm vegetables that had to be sent back and their replacements didn’t arrive until after we’d finished the main course. While management took some £ off the bill, I get the strong sense this is now a default offer and the wait staff were not surprised when we sent food back. Service has definitely gone downhill since this place opened. Shame, as the venue has so much potential, but locals will quickly vote with their feet if the kitchen doesn’t raise the bar.

I’ve been here twice now, both times on a Sunday. I came in December 2024 and June 2025. Both times I got the sharing roast board and omg it’s absolutely amazing. Every element is delicious and perfectly cooked, well presented, and piping hot. The complimentary sauces are delicious, as is the gravy and peppercorn sauce, and the cauliflower cheese is 10000/10 probably my favourite part. The sticky toffee pudding is also the nicest I’ve ever eaten. Both times the service has been fast and friendly, and the pub itself is beautiful. It’s definitely not cheap so perhaps save for an occasion but it is totally worth the money. I hope to return again soon ! 💖

Amazing roast. Best I've had. The lamb and pork belly are very very good. Nice to sit outside but there were a lot of flies. On the pricier side but well worth it.

Tasty, well presented and good produce meal! Really recommend. We had the ham hock croquettes, and then shared the Chicken & Bacon Cobb Salad and the Fried Chicken Burger. The ranch dressing in burger was so good. As was the fresh dill and dressing with the salad. Will be going back!!

I haven’t stayed at the hotel but I often pop in for drinks and a meal as The Hound is located on the High Street, and there is always a good vibe. Their Roast is lovely, with great veggie options. Definitely call and book for the garden, especially in the summer!
