10 New Restaurants in Broward County to Check Out Right Now

"Fun fact: This is the second oldest house in all of Fort Lauderdale (only the Stranahan House is older). This historic Downtown Fort Lauderdale spot tucked on the shores of the New River opened in May 2023 under the helm of chef Aedian Reid. His modern take on classic dishes includes a pita-crusted salmon with tangy dill as well as a shrimp and crab squid ink tagliatelle smothered in roasted tomatoes." - Jesse Scott

The 10 Best Spots to Eat in Downtown Fort Lauderdale

"Okay, so, yes, this is a house on the river. But it’s not just any house – it’s one of the oldest, still-standing homes in town, dating back to 1903. Its menu lives up to its cozy-yet-mansion-esque ambiance, with a chianti braised short rib and mahi mahi – soaked in a tomato white wine broth – as highlights." - Jesse Scott

HISTORIC GEM and Great Service. Loved the historic charm and riverside setting. Liz made our visit memorable with fun, attentive service. Dinner was excellent—steak and pappardelle were standout dishes. Brunch was decent but more limited. Mimosas were solid. Parking can be tough with no valet. Still, a 5-star experience!

This bakery café is delightful—bright and inviting with the most delicious, fresh treats. The pastries are amazing, and the coffee pairs perfectly. A special thanks to the manager for the extra compliment from the venue! 💖 Highly recommend for a cozy, tasty stop!

Alejandra is the Manager there, literally an angel sent from heaven. I hope they keep her around. Not only was the food and the atmosphere fabulous, the energy was too. Alejandra with her aura about her made it even more magical. I took my daughter, her 19th birthday, and my son 17, We all loved it!

A Hidden Gem in Fort Lauderdale – The House on the River What an unexpected treasure! My friends and I were bar hopping near our apartment when we stumbled upon The House on the River—and what a magical find it turned out to be. Huge thank you to Liz and Jill, who turned a simple night out into something truly memorable. Their energy, warmth, and hospitality were unmatched. While we didn’t try the food, the drinks were solid, and the vibes even better. Liz gave us a tour of the property, and honestly, it felt like stepping into a vintage fairytale. It reminded me of my mom’s house—full of charm, nostalgia, and character. Every corner had a story, and every detail was perfectly curated. If you’re looking for a place that feels like home but better, this is it. We'll definitely be back

Had an amazing brunch experience and Rudy made it even better. He was cool, professional, and genuinely attentive - the kind of service that feels effortless but makes a big impact. The vibe was on point: a live DJ spinning chill tracks, a beautiful waterfront view with boats drifting by, and a relaxed, upscale atmosphere that made it easy to unwind. Rudy navigated it all like a pro — friendly, helpful, and always one step ahead. Great food, great energy, and top-tier service. Can’t wait to come back!

This stunning location in the best of Fort Lauderdale is suitable for your special occasion, date night or a gathering of good friends. Cocktails and a small selection of wines and beers, a curated list of small plates, starters, grilled entrees and mains provide enough choice for everyone. (We wished for some Old World wine selections). Our reset was honored with an outstanding outdoor table. Our attentive and congenial server, Rudy, was on point. He was only limited by busy bartenders and kitchen management. Our drinks and food were widely well received. Reservations are highly recommended. This area appears very popular, you may want to use Uber and save yourself the headache of parking.

Google
Absolutely the best food and service we’ve had in a long time! One of the staff members kindly gave us a tour of the house — I wish I had gotten her name. She was incredibly passionate about the history of the place, and it truly added something special to our visit. And the cheesecake? Hands down the best I’ve ever had. From start to finish, this was an unforgettable experience.

Google
Hosted a bridal shower for my best friend. We had a private room and we’re able to decorate. The service was impecable. We had a server to ourselves and she was incredible!! Attentive, kind, and helpful. She took great pictures of us and kept the bottomless mimosas coming. Vicky (Victoria) provided 5 star services, knowledgeable of the menu - just fantastic all around. Thank you Vicky!! We had the best time!

Yelp
What a cute place! Absolutely loved the outside area, with shade from the trees and the waterfront breeze. Found parking just a block away. There was a guy directing where to park, and with one of the apps, you are set to go. Short walk and you are at the restaurant. My friend was waiting for me, with an outside table ready. She was having their espresso martini, which was just like dessert. Once I got there, we ordered the bottomless mimosas, and they are truly bottomless. Our server did not forget about us at any point, refilling every time we were low. Appreciated how friendly she was too. The menu had some great options. We were indecisive on what to get, all sounded good but when we saw one of their Brunch Boards come out, we knew that's what we were going to get. This includes pancakes, chicken & waffles, croissant sandwiches, breakfast sliders, frittata, and fruits. Perfect for sharing and satisfying any craving. And the presentation is beautiful. Went inside to see the rest of the place and it was equally charming. There is no wrong table at this place.

Yelp
I would absolutely love this place... if the food was better. We sat on the front patio with views of the boats on the river. It was magical. So a big thumbs up for location. Our waiter was great , service was prompt, friendly and professional. Prices were pretty fair given the location. But the food was ordinary. We ordered the Sunday brunch breakfast board for two... pretty decent concept, but it was a carbfest. We were joking it was a carb- board, which doesn't give it justice, but the waffles and pancakes were not fresh ( I had to carve at my waffle) the grapes were old... , it's hard to describe but I wouldn't order the board again. So maybe we'll give this another try because it's a REALLY a nice place but the chef needs to get his game going.

Yelp
Came here for the Veuve Sunday brunch with a group, and while the vibe was promising, the experience was completely overshadowed by one major issue: the HEAT. Brunch is held outdoors, and with South Florida summer temps (plus a heat wave that day), it was brutal. No fans, no misters--nothing to help with the heat. It's honestly shocking that a place hosting an outdoor brunch in Fort Lauderdale isn't prepared for hot weather. The food was good, and the DJ kept the energy up, but it was hard to enjoy any of it while sweating through the entire meal. If you're going to dine here during summer, be warned: it's going to be HOT, and they don't do much to make guests comfortable. Definitely not the relaxing brunch experience we were hoping for.

Yelp
Came here for my birthday for The Veuve Experience! It was sooo beautiful the way the restaurant was decorated. Our server Rudy was so nice and attentive, he went above and beyond to make the experience play out smoothly! The food and drinks were amazing, I got the lemon sorbet drink (forgot the name) but it was strong and delicious! Bottomless never stopped after that. The truffle fries were a perfect starter especially if you're going to drink! Smash burger was delicious, subbed the arugula for lettuce. I will definitely come back here again, I hope they keep the Veuve experience going!

Yelp
I was so excited to come here for the House of Veuve brunch. I planned my birthday weekend around this brunch. I invited 10 of my closest friends and we were all so thrilled to get to experience this. I arrived early with two friends and we had a drink at the bar, which was great. Once we sat down at the Veuve brunch, the experience went downhill from there. We ordered drinks which took about 25 mins to arrive. By the time our drinks arrived, others from our party had also joined. They ordered drinks which took an additional 30 mins or so to receive. We ordered appetizers. Truffle fries, caviar and potato chips, and the tartar. Everything tasted great but it, again, took probably an hour to arrive. We ordered more and never received them so asked for them to be taken off our tab. Once the food started coming out it was a little awkward because they accidentally brought my plate to the wrong table (the table next to us who was also very upset about the service.) but they pretended it was on purpose. My friends didn't want to start eating because it was my birthday and I didn't have my food but I insisted. Eventually I got my meal. I got the pear pasta pockets and I will say the food was incredible. Once we got our food, we pretty much never saw our server again. We would have ordered many more drinks, had we had a server paying attention to us. The weather was nice and the atmosphere was amazing. They had these Veuve umbrellas providing shade but then one umbrella was broken and kept falling on us. At one point someone who I think was the manager walked by and I said to him "do you work here? We would have ordered another round of drinks but at this point we'd just like our check" it took ANOTHER HOUR before we got it. The manager or server never apologized for the delays. We weren't the only ones experience this either. All of the other patrons were also upset. For the price of this brunch you would think the service would have been much better than it was. I'm glad I got to experience this, I just expected a much better experience. I don't necessarily think it was the servers fault. They were nice and doing their best. I think they were dealing with the kitchen making a lot of mistakes and being slow. And management was not helping at all from what we saw. There was a server named Alex who was absolutely incredible and so apologetic. He was doing everything he could to try and keep people happy despite the failures of the kitchen and the management. Again, I wish this was a better experience but it was not.

Yelp
Beautiful setting on the Riverwalk. We sat outside on the patio overlooking the boats going by and the ambiance was just really serene and romantic. Around 5:30pm the sun was lower on the sky, so it was not sunny not hot at all, there were a few gnats and bugs flying around the entire time we were there, but that is a downside of being so close to the riverwalk. Our server, from Russia was a nice young lady who was very attentive. We got the snapper filet and the braised ribs. Both were really tasty and the two jumbo shrimp on my snapper were outstanding, maybe the best shrimp I have ever had....just excellent food and service. The experience was not cheap, the two meals with two glasses of wine were around $100, but it was a nice early dinner.

Yelp
Beautiful setting right on the river with just ok food and less than ok service. 5 star ambience: the setting doesn't get much better: a quiet street with an old mansion right on the river. Sit outside if you can. 3 star service: the front desk and all staffers we interacted with displayed no warmth at all. It felt robotic and almost hostile 4 star food: the food is good but not great. At these aggressive price points for more or less standard issue restaurant fare, the food should be great.

Yelp
Brunch was great! There was ample "peel your own shrimp" cocktail and mussels. Carving station included all options. There was an omelette station. Lots of bread and great Brussel sprouts and broccolini. They had a full buffet but kept running out of plates!! The servers didn't seem to know how to efficiently manage the Easter crowd. The parking guy outside was fantastic.

Yelp
Gorgeous house on the river. That should be the update to the name. Beautiful backdrop, lots of eating space inside and out, all of it instagrammable. Park in the parking lot thats in downtown and walk to the venue.

Yelp
This review is based upon attending a large group dinner, served buffet style. The food was good and the service was top notch. However, the atmosphere for the dinner was amazing. The House on the River is right on the Riverwalk on the New River. We ate outside on the patio and watched the sun set and the world go by on the river. The experience was as Florida and "Ft. Lauderdale" as it gets. I would love to come back and order of the menu. Really cool place!

Yelp
Located "on the river" in Ft Lauderdale, this house is expansive and has a lot of different dining options at any given time. Indoor and outdoor seating, bar area in what looks like an old greenhouse, swing seating upstairs overlooking the river, and Saturdays and Sundays now have part of their outdoor space devoted to a brunch collab with Veuve Clicquot. It is strongly suggested to make reservations for the Veuve brunch and swing seats (OpenTable). We arrived and originally checked in at the main stand but were shortly directed over to the Veuve brunch area with its own check in. The area was cute, bright and flowery, and definitely social media posting worthy. Our server, I can't remember his name, was helpful with suggestions and around when needed. We started with Aperol Spritz's which were light and refreshing and a perfect vibe and color for the decor. From there, we shared the Shrimp Green Goddess salad. This was fresh, crisp, and a decent size with 3 large shrimp (for the price, they probably could have included 1 or 2 more shrimp). After that we had the surf and turf eggs Benedict which said braised short rib and poached lobster. I thought they would be together on each half but it was actually one half short rib and one half lobster. I am a sucker for both of these items, but in this case, the short rib was hands down the better of the two. We were verbally given the dessert options and despite being full, were convinced to give the key lime pie a try. Unfortunately the key lime pie ended up being out. Carrot cake ended up suddenly being an option, so we opted for that. It was tasty and not overly sweet which I liked. From other reviews I've seen of the brunch, it appears that the Veuve menu changes periodically so be aware that some items may or may not be there when you go. This Veuve collaboration will be there till March or April they said.

Yelp
Came here today for the first time for the veuve clicquot brunch event for a friends birthday. I was so excited to try this place out as I have never been, and didn't know what to expect especially for this special brunch. Upon arrival, the regular restaurant was pretty packed, but the veuve clicquot brunch area was pretty empty at the moment. We had about half our party and were sat upon arrival. The earlier portion of the brunch was nice. The place wasn't too packed, service was good, and vibes were on point. Upon the arrivals of the rest of our party, and the remaining tables at the event filled up, service just got worse and worse to the point that it was hindering the experience. I've worked in the service industry so I understand how busy it can get when all these large parties show up at once, but I think our server checked on us a total of 3 times. They kept delivering food to the wrong tables so we were waiting forever for appetizers. Our cooked appetizers took less time to come out than the caviar, which takes literally zero prep time because it's just a bag of chips and a scoop of caviar. It came after our regular food came which we ordered after the appetizers. We had to order a second drink when our first one wasn't even done because of how sparse our server was coming to check on us. We had to keep bothering poor Alex who was training I believe to assist us because no one else was catering to us. We asked our server for more water and he never came back so Alex kindly assisted. Every time we needed something we basically had to ask Alex. He was basically our server and wasn't even our server. I'm not one to leave less than 20% tip, even for bad service because like I said, I've been there before, but it feels like robbery when it's automatically added because the service I feel like is always lacking since they know they're getting their money no matter what. Food and drinks were good and the dj played great music that wasn't too loud. It was perfect weather. Great spot for people/boat watching. I will probably be back just for the regular restaurant and hope to not get the same server again. I won't mention his name because I don't want to get him in trouble. Hopefully my experience next time will be better.

Yelp
My friends and I went for the Cliquot brunch experience. We were very surprised with the presentation and the food was very good. The price very reasonable. Everyone was friendly & attentive.

Yelp
The food and service are exceptional! Really enjoyed the Rigatoni, Burratta and strawberry, the smash burger and Yellowfish Tuna. Shawn was a great serve and super friendly, definitely recommend it for a date or friends brunch! Will be coming back

Yelp
I've been here several times for brunch and I love it. The views, service and ambiance are immaculate. I do recommend reservations if you want to secure a table. Our waiter Sandro was very attentive abd helpful with our selections from the menu. I've been back three times since. I definitely recommend the brunch board if you have a party of 4 or more otherwise get individual plates. The chicken sandwich was delicious I order it every-time I brunch here.

Yelp
Yes. A must try! The staff was great and a note that parking can be hard to find close especially if there's an event going on. There's a bakery in between the 2 buildings that offers some to go dessert options. There's bar is small but cozy and you can order there as well. There is a brunch option on the weekends that's one set price and you get to sample all the brunch items. The short rib sliders were great and fruit and waffles and quiche was not bad but was not the favorite. The pear pouches were delicious.

Yelp
Was finally able to check this restaurant out. It's one of the best locations on the riverwalk. I love the ambiance here. The staff were friendly and seating outside was abundant. The only con was the train. It was busy last night so we couldn't chat during those moments. The food was average. We got fish and shirt ribs. Service was okay as well. It's definitely worth at least one visit to sit outside and enjoy the river and people watch.

Yelp
I went to The House on the River on a Saturday afternoon for their high tea experience. What a lovely afternoon! We had a table on the second floor overlooking the river, and the tables are set with pretty and ornate tea sets. When you arrive they bring you the box of tea that contains about seven or eight different teas. You can choose from various tea types including black, green, and herbal teas. They are single serve packets, so different people at the table can try different types, and you're more than welcome to try more than one. You're also able to order cocktails in addition to the tea if you so choose. The tea is served with milk, lemon, and white and brown sugar cubes. I often enjoy honey with my tea as well, which was not served alongside the tea, but I'm not sure if honey is an element of the traditional English practice of afternoon tea. The tea is accompanied first by a small cup of tomato soup topped with crunchy croutons, and then the tower of tea sandwiches and baked delicacies is brought out! There's are different tea sandwiches - chicken coronation, cream cheese with cucumber, egg salad, and salmon with dill cream cheese. All we're excellent, but my favorite is the cream cheese and cucumber. For the baked goods level of the tower, I really enjoyed the blueberry scone. It's small and soft, not hard and crumbly like scones can often be. The jam was also delicious, very fruity and tart. Sadly I was pretty disappointed with the croissant. My friend I went with, who has done the tea experience here before, told me initially that the croissants were served fresh and warm, but the ones we got were pretty hard and did not seem fresh at all. That was truly the only negative of the whole experience! We ended with a couple little dessert bites and cocktails. The service was great and the servers were super friendly and attentive! They always made sure our tea pot was full with hot water. The whole experience (minus the cocktails, they're extra) costs $45. This is a great and unique experience for a beautiful Saturday afternoon on the river. I would definitely recommend this tea experience in particular, and would return to the restaurant for lunch or dinner sometime as well.

Yelp
Went for the veuve brunch experience which I think is a pop up event and will be ending soon. The veuve brunch is separated from the regular brunch and has a dj which was a great vibe and he played great music, but more of a party/fun vibe than the other side brunch. The atmosphere was great but I didn't think the food was amazing. We started with the burrata and strawberry appetizer as well as the tuna. Burrata was good, tuna was just ok. We shared the steak frites and I felt the steak didn't have much flavor or seasoning. For the price point, I felt the food was lacking but again great atmosphere.

Yelp
Ambiance - Very cute and quaint. It's like a small house and the patio is the front of it. It faces the little riverwalk. Service - Wow! Friendly servers. I love when they can explain not only the specials but the other items. Bonus for giving a good recommendation. One even took my picture. So kind. Food - We went for brunch. My date had the veggie omelette with mixed greens. I had eggs Benedict with grilled shrimp. Chefs kiss! This place was so nice we wanted to go back the very next day (we ran short on time, otherwise we would have)!

Yelp
I recently met some friends to celebrate a birthday at the house on the river. Overall, the restaurant was very charming and historic which added to the ambiance. My friend had booked a private room on the 2nd floor which was decorated nicely. The menu was pretty average in price and had quality options. I chose the money purses (pasta) and short rib with glazed carrots. The food was good, but nothing to really write home about. All in all, the place was a little better than average. I would definitely come back an event since it's a very cool historic house, but most likely skip dinner.

Yelp
Went for the Veuve pop up brunch on a Saturday. Great setup view and all the items for deco were great and thoughtfully chosen. Super French feel. Had a dj and all the champs rowdy when we arrived. Food came quick and service was great. We really liked Shawn. The Burrata and the fries so yummy could of had more of each. Ordered the burger and the pasta purses. Burger got sent back twice and still wasn't cooked correctly. We forgot that but all. The rest was great. The owner came over to chat with us and they took that off the bill. And brought us dessert. All in all so much fun. The tower of cocktails was delish. Can't wait to go back

Yelp
Dined here for brunch twice! The house is gorgeous, so many different rooms with different decor. I love how the staff explained the meals and the different board options. Food was good, the atmosphere really builds for a nice time with friends.

Yelp
This is literally a two floor house with different rooms and multiple bathrooms. All the rooms are dinning areas with vintage decor. Family oriented. A DJ with amazing music. Food delicious. Friendly and professional service. Loved it!! Inside and outside seating

Yelp
Disappointing dining experience with my family after being promptly seated at a table with a great view at 5pm Our server was Sam and he was trying his best but unfortunately fell short as he kept providing empty promises that our food would be out shortly. The calamari, salmon tartare, and truffle fries came out very fast as our appetizers within 30 mins. Calamari was cold and a bit soggy due to the sauce, I suggest putting it off to the side. The fries barely had any truffle since I removed the cheese which usually overpowers truffles. They were just regular fries. Unfortunately, we set a timer and our entree took 1 hr to be served and dishes came out separately which was absolutely horrible! As half thr table ate and the other half sat down waiting. The octopus was very cold and unflavored. My MIL enjoyed her pasta dish and said it was delicious but very greasy. My husband enjoed his pork chops but the mash potatoes were bland. My FIL had the absolute worst dish which was the burger. He said it was the worst burger he has ever eaten!! How do you serve a cold burger after 60 mins of waiting!? The waitress woman serving the food was a very hard working and was running around outside on a bad leg limping the entire evening for 2 hours. Cruel role for an employee obviously in physical distress. The best part was the view and the entertainment on the passing yachts We arrived at 5pm and left at 7:30pm .... 2.5 hrs for a meal which surpassed the alloted time for all customers dining which is 1.5 hrs max table time! Thank you, but NO NEXT!
google avatar

Jane B.

Yelp
The location is lovely and the food leaves you wanting more. Our table and the seafood linguine and octopus. The octopus appetizer was unappealing to the eye and rubbery. As for the pasta dish, not bad but also not good.

Yelp
Went here for brunch on Saturday with some friends. Overall the experience wasn't unique or out of the ordinary. The house is very large and impressive on the outside. The views are gorgeous. But it felt like it was all about aesthetic and capturing IG-story-worthy photos more than actually eating. A photographer came around to snap pictures of my group. The brunch menu is very limited and doesn't offer anything unique outside of most basic options, such as croissant sandwiches and eggs benedict; it also has some lunch options. Very limited on vegan and vegetarian options. I got the grilled Mahi sandwich and it was delicious, but I wouldn't really return for it. There's only one drink to order for bottomless, which are mimosas. The service was a bit slow and lacking, but that can be excused because there were so many customers attending. Overall, cute but nothing really unique or outstanding.

Yelp
Just an average place for brunch. Views were nice but outside seating does not have enough shade. This place gets a lot of foot traffic so they don't seat incomplete parties - even with reservation. Luckily they let us wait 20 minutes for most of our party to arrive and then we got two tables outside that they pushed together to accommodate for us. It wasn't the most comfortable since they need more umbrellas, but after sweating and getting sunburned for the first ten minutes, they moved some umbrellas around providing us shade. It later did affect other tables that were seated after us because they lost their umbrella to our table. And the way the table was set up, there was not a lot of room to move my chair with the pillar behind me. My friends got bottomless and I ordered one drink. It was good. I drank the lemonade I think with cucumber and vodka. The mimosa service was ok. The servers weren't very attentive in refilling glasses and we had to pour it ourselves and constantly ask for more refills. I also think we were getting kicked out after an hour although the menu says we have two hours for bottomless. I ordered a fish sandwhich which I found to be average. Pricy and not special although I saw no problem with the sandwhich. It was good and fries were salty. Calamari was also good just not special and overpriced for the portion. I'm not sure if it's worth coming back here but I was happy to try the place with all the hype.

Yelp
Veuve brunch! Ya I know it's a bit kitschy but it was still so fun! Great for a girls brunch or date. Felt like we were somewhere in Europe. Pop the bottles and enjoy a fun day in the sun with good food and cool experience!

Yelp
Great ambiance, good brunch. I came here during jazz on the river. The restaurant had seating outside near the band. My friend and I were able to listen to the live band and enjoy our brunch. We ordered the brunch board, which came with sliders, Shrimp benedict, chicken and cavier, berry pancakes, bacon, sausage, and assorted fruit for only $29 per person. The brunch board was excellent. It gave you a variety of options, and it was the perfect portion for two. The outdoor ambiance was perfect. It was a beautiful day outside. The live music was playing, and everyone was out walking about. The staff was nice and attentive. We met some great people sitting next to us. They made great company and good conversation. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and will definitely be back.

Yelp
Beautiful entrance and outside seating; however not a very warm welcome by the host. After arriving at the check in on the restaurant steps outside and after we confirmed we wanted to sit outside (as indicated in our Open Table reservation), I said we were a few minutes early but we'd wait; yet, quickly and without a welcome or hello we were immediately told we couldn't sit in the very front outdoor seating area because they are overbooked. This is despite the fact that we had our own reservation made weeks ago. Not sure the hierarchy of reservations. We got seated and we were still looking forward to making the most of the beautiful day. Luckily, our server was very nice and when we mentioned about the curt treatment, she agreed that they can do better. While the server was very nice, she seemed to really have had too many tables or maybe others were responsible for filling the water glasses. In any event, let's talk about the food. We ordered the waffles with berries and the traditional Eggs Benedict with no meat. They both came out very quickly and were the right temperature and tasted very good. The Eggs Benedict came with potatoes and I'd order it again. The waffles were European hard sweet waffles and were good because of the berries, whipped cream, and syrup. Otherwise, they tasted like a brand sold at our grocery store and did not taste like they were just made fresh in the kitchen. We did not complain as they were still good and we ate every bite. We also ordered two cappuccinos and they were good but the restaurant uses these tall narrow glasses and frankly for the price, it's just not enough coffee to enjoy throughout the meal. Finally, just to circle back...when we left there were still multiple tables in the front outdoor seating area that were not occupied--this included 4-tops and at least one 2-person table as well. Upon leaving, we did ask the host again about her being overbooked and she said again (consistently) that she had those reserved and needed them available for those reservations. Generally, understandable. (Remember, we had a reservation too, got there on time and we were done, and paid before she sat anybody at those tables--it was really about the way we were seated and not about the seats.) I believe that a host sets the tone and the feel for any visit at a restaurant especially one where people come for the good vibes and relaxing outdoor atmosphere. While the food was good, they need to do better at the front before I can recommend a visit.

Yelp
The brunch board provided enough variety where it almost made it hard to choose. Good thing you won't have to because everything was super tasty. The service seemed like it was made just fir us. Being in the room by ourselves, made the brunch experience that much better... this place is picturesque, inside and out !!!

Yelp
What a cute place in the neighborhood! I should have tried this place sooner. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces are beautiful. For dinner, I had the rainbow trout and I devoured it. The service was impeccable even on a busy night as a lot of patrons were going to the opera after dinner. Liz was our waitress and she was friendly, hospitable, and the best! I met here with friends but will have to bring my husband back. I also want to try the brunch cause the menu looks amazing.

Yelp
I went here for Valentine's Day and we had an amazing time. The hostess was very kind and offered us the swing room. The room was beautiful, and I would highly recommend booking it for private dates and special occasions. The room was private and offered an intimate experience. The menu isn't large but what we ordered was really good. We had the truffle fries as a starter, and the filet mignon and the pappardelle Bolognese and burrata as our mains. The Bolognese was really good and came with a large portion. The filet was undercooked for what we ordered but the meal was still great. The view from the swing room was amazing as you could see the beautiful river and lights. I would definitely recommend coming here for dinner occasions as it offers a romantic and intimate experience.

Yelp
Great view and vibes. Overpriced but that's to be expected. Food was ok, drinks were great. Great venue for events :)

Yelp
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Fort Lauderdale. Picturesque views, delicious entrees, cocktails and an attentive staff. I had the 'Dinner with Benefits', Roasted Carrots, Walnut Crusted Rainbow Trout and chocolate cake. They were unfortunately out of Bread Pudding which is fabulous. I highly recommend going with a big group and getting a private room. Or going for weekend brunch and sitting outside (when the weather cools off a bit)

Yelp
Ordered a brunch for 2 and an egg Benedict with blackened shrimp. The food was definitely above average in regards to the taste. The presentation was on point and most importantly cooked to our liking. I forgot the names of our drinks but we ordered a spicy cocktail and a mule...both equally unimpressive. Most importantly, our server was personable and professional. She even answered a few menu related questions we had. ***oh we did also grab some pastries on our way out. A few pistachio croissants and cinnamon rolls. Delish!

Yelp
We went to The House on the River for their Saturday High Tea and it was a lovely experience. While I can't speak to brunch or dinner, tea was efficient and tasty. We had a variety of teas to choose from and the set up was charming. We then started with a small tomato soup and then a variety of sandwiches and baked goods were brought out. We also enjoyed a refreshing cocktail! The ambiance was pleasant. The house is older, but has a lot of natural light and charm. The service was good and our waitress was attentive and helpful. This is definitely a fun afternoon activity!

Yelp
Beautiful rustic restaurant on the water. Great for groups and date nights. Close by las olas boulevard and bars and restaurant. Also walking distance from the Broward center for the performing arts.

Yelp
My mom and two teen daughters loved our experience at the house in the river. 10/10 ambiance and food was delicious! Service was good. The restaurant sits along a walking path and the river which made for a great view.

Yelp
We went on a Sunday at 12:30pm and sat outside. The outdoor space is beautiful, and you have a view of the river. This is my 3rd visit since it opened. They had some kinks to work out with a sewage smell inside and poor service. The sewage smell was gone during this last visit and service was better. The service could still be improved because food took about 45 minutes to receive, and I had to ask for water refills. My friends did the bottomless mimosas for $19 (2 hours). Our server left the sparkling wine bottle and we had to ask twice to get a bucket of ice for it. You can pay $8.95 and have fresh squeezed OJ instead of canned OJ. My friend and I shared the Brunch Board ($29/person). It came with 4 small skewers of fruit (grapes and pineapple with a blueberry yogurt dip). The board also included: Fried Chicken-tasted fresh and was crispy. Eggs Benedict-we opted for no shrimp. It was just okay. Pancakes-fluffy and a tasty berry topping. It was okay. Sausage, Bacon, Fried Potatoes Short Rib Sliders were my FAVORITE. There is limited street metered parking.

Yelp
We came here for thanksgiving and it was a great way to try out the restaurant. There are several different rooms along with outdoor seating along the water. We were able to walk through the house and see every different room which was nice for next time. We chose the porch swing room which had 2 porch swings along with regular seating. Comfortably can sit 4 people. It overlooks the river as well. For thanksgiving there was a pre set menu which was nice. We only needed to choose our main course. Everything from the service to the food was delicious. I'm excited to go back to try their regular menu and perhaps sit in a different room.

Yelp
If you want a unique beautiful spot to enjoy with your meal this is that place. There is no parking at the location so you will have to find a spot to park and pay. We were able to walk around the house to look at all the different rooms and they were very quaint. It definitely gave you a homey private feeling with beautiful views. I loved the that they didn't make it feel like an open concept like most restaurants. The food was good the roasted carrots were excellent! I could eat that every day! The service was good for a busy place, there was a little pack in guidance. The menu did not say that the eggs Benedict came with breakfast potatoes and the waiter didn't ask if potatoes were good or if I wished to have a substitute. There was also no salt and pepper on the tables and once the food was delivered I had to flag someone down for ketchup. Potatoes are not my favorite side and it was a little plain and lacked flavor. It was only when the hostess came by to clear off our table (which I thought was odd) did she tell me if I didn't like potatoes I could have asked for a side salad. Which is great to know after the fact. Like I said they were busy and at times seemed a little all over the place as if they were short staffed, but I would imagine that they are always busy on the weekend. Would definitely go back again and try High tea. Overall it was not a bad experience but a nice one just a few things that could be adjusted.

Yelp
Got the brunch board which included short rib sliders, pancakes, chicken and waffles, vegetable frittata, bacon egg & cheese croissant sandwich, fruit, pork sausage link and a sweet mini pastry puff. Food was good, not great. Service was ok but they were very busy as it was Jazz brunch on Sunday. Parking was difficult so plan ahead. Unique spaces fill the house and you can feel its history.

Yelp
I recently had a girls night dinner at the house on the river and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Located literally on the river on Fort Lauderdale, the ambience is absolutely gorgeous. The restaurant provides so many different vibes, depending on where you're sitting. When I first arrived, I sat at the bar as I waited for my friends and enjoyed a glass of Prosecco. The bartender was really friendly and made small talk with me while I was waiting. When my friends arrived we sat outside and it happens to be cool in South Florida this week so it was really delightful. Please note you will need at least 50% of your party to be seated. I ended up choosing from the prefix menu and had the carrots as an appetizer and I thought that was well executed. It was a carrot and ricotta and I thought the flavors were really good. As my main I had the money bags and that was OK (nothing to write home about) I think that the sauce that it was in could've been better done but I still enjoyed it and then I finished off with the Affogato, which is always great. I definitely wanna come back and try their brunch. Overall I enjoyed my experience. I will also note that parking could be a little challenging. There's a parking lot near the restaurant, but it has limited spots so if none are available, you will have to walk a little bit which isn't bad but at night the street is not as well lit as I would like.

Yelp
Excellent view of the New River and surrounding areas. Indoor and outdoor seating. I was here for a special event and we sat outside. I had a wonderful time and the staff was great. We got to meet and talk to the owner. Since the menu was catered for the event and prepared by a specific chef and friend, Chef Jorge, I can't write about the food that the restaurant normally serves. The ambiance is terrific. I highly recommend dining here. Yes, there parking areas and street parking and a parking garage close by.

Yelp
I am not sure why this business has such low ratings. It is a new favorite restaurant of mine. The ambiance was fantastic, the views were great, and the food was amazing. It's ideally located to grab a bite before or after strolling las olas, going to IMAX theatre, or going to see a show at the Broward center. Every room has a different personality. Make sure to reserve so that you grab the room with the swing seats.

Yelp
Came here couple days before Valentine's as a surprise from the boss! She set up reservations and room based on her own research. Got here little early to walk around check it out and have a drink at the bar. The bar and staff I would say both need work. Staff was super busy despite not being really busy in our opinion. No one greeted us took our order or even asked how we were doing until the manager Ali came through and greeted us. She decided to take our order even hunt down my drink of choice . After an uneventful bar experience we transferred our energy to the swing room. Was a very pleasant room full of light and a great view. Couple down sides I gotta put in.. 1. Light was a fluorescent bulb brighter than the sun . 2 . Great view of inter coastal with zero air flow. AC was either full blast or not on. 3. Decor was dated and in great need of upgrades. ... However with the help of Sam (who eats green eggs and ham ) and Ali we were able to fix lighting . They surrounded us with lots of candles and even a lighter to light as needed. Thank god they left the lighter cause every time AC came on out went the candles . On to the good stuff . Although menu was small and basic food was tasty hot and cooked perfectly. The Branzino was wood fire cooked to absolute perfection. The pork chop I ordered was cooked perfectly and full of flavor . Nice side of potatoes. We started with a spicy clam dish that was good but needed couple more slices of the bread for dipping. Salad was tasty and refreshing. . The restaurant is massive and has many rooms . Feel free to walk about and see them all . I had a good time here and may make it back in one day but if I don't at least Sam I Am , and Ali made it worth our wild .
