Google
Cute atmosphere for dog owners, they have a dog menu and it’s a peaceful atmosphere. I got the vegan nachos, they were good but I wish there was more queso. The truffle fries were delicious, the portion was kinda small.

Google
The menu is the right size; a perfect amount of options without being overwhelming. They also have a dog menu, as they allow dogs on the enclosed patio. The food was good. The service was great and very responsive. It's a great spot. I would like to visit again someday.

Google
The Howe Daily Kitchen & Bar is a fantastic spot for dining, and its dog-friendly atmosphere makes it stand out even more. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious options, from hearty comfort food to healthy choices, and their craft cocktails are top-notch. What sets The Howe apart is how they welcome furry friends, offering a dedicated dog-friendly patio and even a special menu for dogs! The staff, as I remembered was Karen goes above and beyond to ensure both of us and our dog feel at home. It’s the perfect place to enjoy great food, drinks, and quality time with your dog. Highly recommended!

Google
We came on a weekday for lunch and it wasn't crowded at all. The outdoor semi-covered patio in the back was super nice and the food was wonderful. Gluten friendly items are clearly marked on the menu, and there is cross contamination. Buffalo cauliflower and vegan ranch was to die for! I also had the curry with cauliflower rice and chicken and it was super tasty.

Google
Went with my family and my dog and had a wonderful time! The food was excellent, and I would like to shout out the staff for being so friendly and accommodating. More importantly, my pup had a wonderful time and I'd love to bring her back to try the other things on the dog menu.

Adrienne Springstead

Google
This was a cool find. We were on a family road trip with our dog, and this place had a Paw-tio to sit outside with your dog. They brought them a water bowl, a mat, and a peanut butter biscuit. They also had a dog menu to order dinner for your dog! Waitress was not very attentive to our drink refills, especially when we were there on such a hot day. But everything else was great!

Joanne Nigbor

Google
This place is SO great! And, dogs....I mean come OOOOOON! So many options for everyone, and delicious! I had the Mojo and replaced the meat with the coconut tofu. YUM!!!

Google
We ordered for pick up and ate at home from this place. My sister in law wanted to customize their brisket mac and cheese and take out the brisket. My nephew wanted their chicken wings. I got the Phuket bowl with tofu and my brother got the ahi poke bowl. My Phuket bowl was really flavorful, the chicken wings were also good and I ate the cauliflower from my brother’s plate. I think my brother said it was busy while he was trying to order in person and the bartender helped him. We couldn’t customize the mac and cheese online.

Yelp
Great experience and a perfect friendly, neighborhood spot. Can't go wrong with the chicken and mashed potatoes. The signature cocktails are great too!

Yelp
Us humans love this place for their wonderful food drinks and wonderful staff..my little 14yr old fur baby loves it for the cookies and mutloaf. She has stomach problems and sometimes will go on a hunger strike for days and the only thing that gets her eating again is the mutloaf. Thank you for being a wonderful neighborhood establishment.

Yelp
A delightful neighborhood foodie spot! I am a fan of The Howe as the food is delicious and the service is outstanding. From their fabulous weekend brunch menu (standouts are Breakfast Empanadas and Burrito as well has their Chicken & Waffles) to the solid lunch menu, I have only positive feedback. FINAL Thoughts: A standout in terms of service, quality, and consistency. The atmosphere is always pleasant and welcoming. Parents bring your fur babies to their outdoor dining area (try the doggie menu too)! Choose Wisely Fellow Foodies! #LiveEatBeHappy

Yelp
Serving Eggs Benedict without the option of regular hollandaise sauce is a pretty big miss. The breakfast menu is trying too hard and missing the staples. Slow service didn't help matters
google avatar

Yelp
Best cocktail ever- Horchata borracha. It's one of their summer signature drinks. Hope it makes it to the regular list. The sparkling sugar rum perfectly accompanied the creamy but light horchata elixir. So refreshingly tasteful! The was accompanied by a very filling vegan "cheesesteak" made with Korean bbq from herbivorous butcher. I'm not vegan, but don't eat beef so I've never had a Philly cheesesteak! So glad I had a chance to. Love that they're dog friendly too!

Mary S.

Yelp
K I ordered chic wings with a side if chicken gravy and Cole slaw. Just right very tasty.

Yelp
We were visiting family in Minneapolis and was suggested the restaurant as it has a dog-friendly patio and a menu with a variety of food items and cocktails. The patio was very nice, with full wait staff and a tent so you don't get too hot in the summer. The menu varies from wings to burgers to their take on fried rice. This bar has flavors for every taste! I ordered the fried rice and added chicken. The dish came with so much egg, I really didn't need the extra protein. The chicken was probably my least favorite part of the dish, but the sauce was delicious. The dog menu is fairly extensive as well. This place is a great spot to hang out on a patio at!

Yelp
Im not a huge fan of chains, but for the Howe (and its sister restaurant, Stanley's) I'll make an exception. First, the bar is where it's at. Belly up for brunch and chat with Sam, your friendly neighborhood bartender. They've recently updated the brunch menu and have nailed everything! Im loving the Aerpa Benedict with sausage. Also, the changes to the sammies where you can build your own is perfect. Side note: you make think you want two, but you don't. You'll be splitting in two if you do. Finally, there new cheeses hash browns blow the old ones out of the water. Oh also, enjoy that all with a Grey Goose Greyhound or the Dragon Mary and that's how you start out a Saturday or Sunday morning.

Yelp
Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. Topped wit veggies and cheese - definitely a must try. Friendly staff and service is excellent.
google avatar

Susan K.

Yelp
First time trying their brunch. The slushies were $5 & refreshing on a hot, humid day. We got a table right outside the kitchen (punishment for not having a reservation?). The creamy hash browns were delicious but others in my dining party said theirs were Al dente (aka not fully cooked). My arepa Benedict was good but the arepa was pretty mushy, I prefer them to be more browned on the outside. Eggs were runny which is a definite plus.

Yelp
So I've been back and dined in, inside and outside; a total of 3x since my food pickup and delivery experiences. Food is always something write about here, especially when their chicken is involved. Service was okay, no complaints. I enjoyed dining outside with my dog this summer. I brought her with me 2x. They give your dogs a bowl of water. The second time i brought her they gave her dog treat or biscuit of some sort. IDK if that was a new thing, but it was nice. Dining inside was nice. We had a cool server. The host stole the show though. We really liked him. So yeah, I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Pretty steady place. Service is always good. I like the beer selections. Their fish and chips are quite good. The chicken special is great. I usually opt for their burger take on the Big Mac. Lots of TVs so good for watching sports. The interior can be a bit loud but it's tidy and appealing visually. The patio is dog friendly too.

Yelp
We stopped here for brunch before attending a ladies event. Some of the others had been here before and we needed a place that would take reservations. The food was pretty good! I liked that the biscuits and gravy included breakfast potatoes and veggies and my mom's pancake was so big she couldn't finish it. We also enjoyed the shareable carafe mimosas However, I just can't get with the feel of this place. Our table and seats just felt... dirty, even though we watched them wipe everything down. I think they're probably due for some remodeling, but again, if you aren't an ambience person, you'll like it just fine.

Yelp
Did HH+ recently at The Howe. HH ends too early but otherwise the service, food and beverage selections were great. Love love love the large, tented back patio! Very comfortable place to hang with friends in a dry outdoor environment, and plenty of well ventilated area for those who are nervous about COVID.

Yelp
One of the Craft & Crew Hospitality restaurants and bars. Located in the Howe neighborhood of South Minneapolis. Easy parking on street or lot in back. They were not too busy, we were seated immediately. Their patio is pup friendly - there were a few very well behaved dogs. Ordered lavender lemonade and full chicken dinner. The served was friendly. Our food came out quickly. The lemonade was refreshing. The chicken was quite tasty, moist and crispy on the outside. The coleslaw was not great and could use some tweaking. Bland, flavorless. The mashed potatoes were over engineered, unnecessarily. I'd go back. I'd recommend as well.

Yelp
Great place for brunch. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Nice patio. Good service.

Yelp
What a fun spot for lunch! I came here with some Co-workers to grab a bite. They have an upbeat atmosphere and fast service. I had the soup and half sandwich lunch special ($13) --the perfect portion size.
google avatar

Ken W.

Yelp
Literally a terrible menu. You don't serve lunch until 2:00PM?? FYI, that's well after "lunch". This place was solid once upon a time. I will never return.

Bella P.

Yelp
Decent menu selection. Ok food, kind of bland. Service was decent, nice staff. Good environment and ambiance.

Yelp
Came with a large group, and while the server was very friendly, the person who delivered the food had no idea what dish was going to who. We tried to help by saying what we ordered, but some dishes looked alike and the wrong ones were served to people with food allergies. The food itself was so-so. I ordered the prime rib has which had good flavors. Also got a cheddar biscuit on the side. Was instead served a kale biscuit, and had to ask for the cheese one. Both biscuits were dense and bready, with no flakiness or layers. And both also had a very strong freezer burned taste. The sausage gravy that came with it was good, but even that couldn't cover up the freezer burn taste. I also got a blueberry shrub mocktail that was OK but overly sweet and had too much vinegar flavor, even for a shrub. Nice dog friendly patio and servers, but also uneven food and confusion of food orders.
google avatar

Yelp
Had a huge lunch order catered for a work event today. Not only were they on time, the order was accurate and everything was DELICIOUS! I kept getting compliments about it throughout the day. Thank you for making our lunch stress free!!!

Yelp
Our go to place when we are too lazy to cook supper. Food to go was hot and tasty. Great to have so close to us.

Yelp
The Howe is a great family spot for a weeknight meal. I also love that they have a menu just for the doggos. My go to order of late is simple, the Broasted Chicken. Great for the whole family when you don't know what to cook for the evening. It also looks like they have a nice patio for when the weather is warm.

Celia M.

Yelp
It's okay, think there was dog hair in my food, I seen them serving the dog bowls on the same counter as the plates

Yelp
we went here on a cold winter night. we were able to be seated immediately out on the heated/covered patio. it was 13 degrees outside and I was fine in a sweatshirt. my son was a bit chilly though. if you get cold easily, I would not recommend the patio on a cold night the food - it was good. the boy got the tenders and tots appetizer (which is more than enough for a meal for an adult even). he really enjoyed it. I felt the breading was a little bland. the tots were just your garden variety tots. I got the double Royale with cheese. it was cooked well and juicy. again, a little more seasoning on the meat would have been good. I also upgraded to the fries for $1. they were nice and crispy. the star of the meal though, for me, were the kimchi pancakes. a little bit of heat with a fried egg on top. I really could have just eaten a couple orders of those and been completely satisfied. they were served on a bed of arugula, which I also love. drink - I got a classic old fashioned. a little sweet for my taste, but still good. we were pretty stuffed, otherwise we would have gotten dessert. overall, I'd go there again just for the kimchi pancakes.

Yelp
We took our old pup here for her birthday not realizing that The Howe basically has the same exact menu as Stanley's which is right near us, lesson learned! I loved The Howe's patio better than Stanley's though. The vegan nachos were wonderful! A great portion size and super tasty. The vegan and GF phoebe was OK, I would not order it again. My husband really liked the vegan philly - each meal was a lot of food! Our old dog always enjoys the turkey loaf - it's the safest food I like to order her since the other options seem very rich for her little dog tum. Our drinks were OK, the lavender lemonade was not poured/mixed well so wasn't the easiest to drink. Waitstaff is super nice!

Yelp
Good American food restaurant churning out great appetizers like Brussel sprouts, cheese curds, and cauliflower tots. One of the few places I've ordered just from the appetizer menu.

Stacy H.

Yelp
I discovered The Howe (and then all the Craft and Crew spots) shortly after moving to Minneapolis. It became an IMMEDIATE favorite of mine, and my dog Bruce! The food is fantastic, for both humans and dogs alike (or so I gather from the way Bruce wolfs down every dish), there is enough variety for everyone to find something they like, but not so vast that they can't perfect the dishes they do serve. Great atmosphere, especially the yoga mats for dogs! I'm especially a big fan of the brunch menu! And if the fact that you can bring your dog, and order them a meal of their own menu, while you eat your own fantastic dish isn't enough to sell you, then the staff sure will! Nothing but A++ service every time we dine, often the staff will even remember my dog, and he is delighted by the attention and snacks he receives. So thankful to have this amazing restaurant so close by!

Yelp
This place was one of few open until 11;00 on a Saturday. Cheese curds were awesome and plentiful, and the spicy sweet sauce was interesting. . Fries had a "double fried" texture, not sure if they do double fry or use corn starch or both, but they had a nice crisp and chewy construction. Burger was not bad. Two 1/4 pound Patties with cheese and fries for $14.5. The house pickles were a huge hit. Burger was Not overly salted and not overly juicy/greasy, But not dry. Not a salt bomb. With good texture to it. Certainly fair value for the money. Service was bad. It wasn't that busy, but had to ask for water twice. We waited ten minutes for beers and Then I got given the wrong beer. Ordered George Hunter nitro stout and got a non stout non nitro light colored beer delivered. Server told me "yeah this is just a lighter stout" and I then showed him a pic from the internet of a nearly pitch black George Hunter stout and explained that nitro foam is not the same as CO2 foam. He said he'd ask the bartender and then brought it back. Kind of surprised he didn't comp it. Service issues happen and the food ranged from decent to excellent.

Yelp
I always love that there's so many options to choose from here. The staff is nice and quick service. Cute place and lots of space with plenty of TVs. Loved that they had so many mocktail options too!

Katie W.

Yelp
So fun to have our dog on the patio- and she was treated like royalty. Loved the kimchi steak bowl as always and appreciated sitting outside the food and ambience were very good.

Yelp
The Howe is one of my favorite restaurants in all of the Twin Cities, and every time I take a friend here, they agree. At my most recent visit, I sat on the back patio which was a delightful way to experience the summer air. Although I didn't bring my pooch, it is a dog-friendly patio, and they even will bring them a water dish and a treat. The service is always quick and pleasant, and the food is always nice and hot. Their cheese curds come with some sort of sweet/spicy pepper jelly that is absolutely delicious, and one of my favorite things about the place. Will be back again soon!
google avatar

Julie R.

Yelp
We stopped here after a walk around Nokomis and had our dog with us so we needed a dog friendly patio. The Howe was a nice little neighborhood spot with a decent menu. We ordered cheese curds to start and they came out quick and hot. The curds here are solid! We both ordered salads which were delicious and we even ordered the dog a treat from the dog menu. They also gave our dog a mat and water dish which was awesome. The service was a bit pushy. They were asking us if we were ready for our tabs when I was trying to rock a fussy baby to sleep and had barely gotten a chance to eat my salad yet. I'm not sure what the rush was since it was 2pm on a Friday and not very busy? Overall we enjoyed ourselves, but I favor their sister restaurant Stanley's.
google avatar

Nathaniel S.

Yelp
My wife and I had another great time here. The food was amazing! The half bird and brisket Mac n cheese was huge! Service was amazing! Fun date night spot on a Friday night.
google avatar

Teenah G.

Yelp
My mom flew in from California just in time for brunch. I had seen The HOWE when googling Dog Friendly Places and it looked like a fun place. So, we stopped in for brunch. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Love that. We got Mimosa's that were beautifully priced and worth every penny! The one star is for the food. Clearly, most of it is not freshly made. My boyfriend got a vegan burger and said it was one of the blandest burgers he had ever had and did not finish it. This is someone who inhales food in 3 bites. My friend got a basic breakfast, eggs, bacon, and bread. The bread was hard, and she said it tasted like it had been frozen and then toasted. She also said for something so basic, it was also bland. Now, I got the Sopes Benedict. I am Latina. I know Sopes. I've made them. I received my Sopes, and i couldn't cut through them with a steak knife. I could not bite through them. They were clearly frozen, and then over toasted. I stopped trying to eat them and returned them to kitchen and refused anything else. The waitress apologized to me, which was nice, and gave me a credit off my bill but then had the audacity to tell me, "This is how Sopes are usually made." For anyone who gets the Sopes and has a tough time cutting through them, THEY ARE OVER COOKED AND NOT EDIBLE. Masa/SOPES has a soft chewy consistency, with a slight crisp on the bottom. Please do not continue to push this idea that you have to strain hand muscles to get through Sopes and tell people this is your norm. It's bad business and insulting to a cultural food.
google avatar

Jim R.

Yelp
Another in the group of dog friendly pubs serving burgers, broasted chicken and other pub food. Like the sister restaurants it's a big space and has plenty of room to spread out. A buddy and I popped in for lunch and as with their other spots, enjoyed the hearty food (although the huge portions proved to be too much for me). The Nachos with Brisket were brimming with oozing cheese and shredded beef brisket (good) while the turkey club was just ok. Really I should have gone with a burger or the delicious chicken sandwich which are my "go-tos" at their other places. It wasn't too busy at lunch so my online reservation was probably unnecessary on a weekday. Reliably good.
google avatar

Breanna B.

Yelp
This place is so good!! The service is very nice and welcoming, the bar has multiple television screens so you can never miss a game. The patio is even better if you love to eat outside. The food... 10/10 from the fries to the burgers to the drinks very good. It's definitely a date night or guys night at this place any day
google avatar

Kolade B.

Yelp
Parking was easy. They have one more than a dozen parking spots. Not including street parking. I liked that I was able to see the patio from the parking lot. The patio experience was good for people watching. The waitress was tentative and aware. We were not ready to order 5 minutes after we sat down and needed time to peruse the menu. I ordered broasted chicken with a side of mash potatoes and gray. I would order it again. I would recommend you visit the menu online before coming if you are a newbie.
google avatar

Kathy M.

Yelp
We absolutely love coming here for the dog-friendly service and menu, which deserves all 4 stars. The staff is so friendly, and out dog always feels welcomed and happy here. They always bring out a mat for him to lay on and he gets a bowl of water. Their dog menu includes treat, and full meals with sweet and savory options! He always gets the turkey loaf, and absolutely loves it! If it weren't for the excellent doggy treatment and food options, I would rate the human menu with 3 stars. We havent really found anything we love on the human menu. The buffalo cauliflower is probably our favorite, but everything else has only been ok. We keep coming back though because its worth it if we can bring our dog Louie. Not sure we'll be there in the colder season though.
google avatar

Hallie O.

Yelp
The food was really good. There is something on the menu for everyone... drinks were also great! I love the dog friendly patio. However, it did smell a little bit like wet dog and urine which was a little off putting considering we were eating. The waitress also forgot about us on the patio several times. But otherwise, it was a good experience and I am willing to go back.

Julie N.

Yelp
Tasty food and delicious drinks. Our bartender Liam took very good care of us and made some really great recommendations. We enjoyed a Madam Grey, an old fashioned and a mexican mule (made with tequila). All of them were wonderful!! The street corn dip was really tasty. Will be back soon.
google avatar

Yelp
I have been back twice since The Howe's menu became very similar to The Block in SLP. The first time I had the brisket grilled cheese sandwich. I found it tasty and filling, stuffed with good beef and oozing cheese. A brother-in-law ordered the avocado club sandwich and pronounced it satisfying. I had iced coffee to drink while my brother-in-law stuck with water. On the second visit I selected the Tennessee Hot chicken sandwich. To me it was flavorful but not at all spicy. A burger was enjoyed by a brother-in-law. I had a tall iced tea to wash it down. Both times we split a huge basket of tater tots with a variety of dipping sauces. IMHO the staff was gracious and prompt. Portions are generous. Parking usually not a problem. Noise levels moderate when we were there. Arguably on the pricey side but I will gladly pay the freight to keep establishments like this afloat. I will not question the opinions expressed in occasional negative reviews but the food at The Howe was very good and my experience was pleasant and positive.

Yelp
Good but..,I love this place. Been there 3 times in 3 weeks. It was still good except... We arrived as a group of 5 adults with a dog. So we requested the patio. Came early so only partially full. Seated us at a table for four. Other large tables sat empty. We ordered drinks...have always gotten good suggestions. Not so much this time, "check the App" Ordered 2 appetizers because we wanted the Whole Damn Bird for the five. Then I, the seasoned customer suggested we order the chicken too since we have waited through a couple of drinks before and the menu warns to plan 20 minutes. Drinks and apps arrive and less than 5 minutes the chicken. So we have 2 partially eaten apps, 5 small plates, 5 dinner plates, 5 water glasses, 5 drink glasses and a platter of bird. Needless to say it wasn't the pleasant evening out we had expected. And the excellent, wonderfully crispy chicken?, slightly soggy. Evidently was something leftover to serve anyway. No way can you broast chicken in 5 minutes. I didn't say anything because out guests would have been uncomfortable and embarrassed. Oh well, I will be back. But I will clarify my order timeline. The water dish for our dog was very nice. If only we had had such good treatment.

Yelp
Came to enjoy some patio weather on a Friday evening! Started the weekend off with cocktails. I chose the sangria with red wine. It was delicious! Loved the addition of the pineapple rum! The menu isn't extensive but eclectic. They also offer a good variety of vegan options and mark gluten free. For my entree, I went with the broasted fried rice and really enjoyed it! It was a healthier option and who doesn't love yum yum sauce. My husband got the buffalo Mac and cheese. He enjoyed it - wasn't blown away but it was solid. Service was great especially with having to bounce between inside and outdoor spaces. Parking lot available!

Anthony G.

Yelp
Wide spectrum style of menu, which for me has always meant it's all good or don't eat here. And I have been here twice now and I love the food, the drink are really well made, and there is a patio that is dog friendly so how can you not be happy
google avatar

Jay B.

Yelp
Decided to try this place again. Not much has changed, pretty mediocre breakfast food. Sausage links were barely warm. Plates were cold. Hair in the napkin holding my silverware, gross. We both asked for extra crispy hashbrowns, they came out looking like everyone else's , and they were mushy. Music made it difficult to even talk. I don't know what people see in this place as it seems to be fairly busy most days. Just not what I call a good place to eat.
google avatar

Jackie G.

Yelp
To have ordered take out from The Howe but this was my first time dining in! We had a larger group that came to watch some football - the whole place is TVs which is great if you're looking for a spot where you can catch a game but also have great food and not a dive or sports bar. I ordered the brisket grilled cheese with fries and seasoned sour cream. The grilled cheese was good (something I have ordered before), did have a bit too much sauce on it, but still delicious. Fries were awesome! The seasoned sour cream was a bit odd - honestly tasted a bit like tarter sauce, not something I would try again. My boyfriend ordered the broasted chicken with Mac and cheese and cornbread - if you haven't tried it before, the chicken is a 10/10 and a must! Mac and cheese was good and the cornbread was fantastic! The service was great - server stopped by quite a few times to check in, get us drinks, and provide recommendations while we were waiting for the rest of our group. They also have a decent sized parking lot which I feel is always a plus when dining anyways in Minneapolis.

Yelp
The Howe is a good brunch spot in a fun area. I got the hot chix Benedict ( spicy fried chicken breast) and it was good, although the hash browns were a little bland. We ordered a side of bacon and it came on the same plate as one of our orders. There's a solid brunch menu with vegan and gluten free options and a variety of mimosas and bloody mary's. It does get pretty busy Saturday mornings and it can get a little crammed so if you have a bigger group it would be a good idea to have a reservation.

Yelp
The neighborhood bar and restaurant has a bunch of labeled and substantial vegan options, along with a nice beer and cider selection. It's definitely a winner and worth a visit. We started with the vegan nachos ($14) which tasted great on a whole, especially the chorizo. I didn't love the queso, though, which was too liquid and had an off-putting taste. The vegan buffalo cauliflower ($8) was fine, but I'd skip it the next time. the batter wasn't crispy enough and had a strong flavor of coconut (they use coconut flour batter). If they improved the texture and toned down the coconut, this would have been nice. The All American Beyond Burger ($16) is just average. The bun was dry, the burger patty not gussied up in any way (J. Selby in St. Paul puts molten vegan cheese into their Beyond patty, mimicking a juicy lucy) and just tasted like a a notch above a fast food burger. I wish they'd switch to the Impossible burger and add extra seasoning. The homemade vegan chocolate cake ($7) was wonderful, though, and deeply chocolate-y with a brownie texture. Lastly, I loved my Milk & Honey "Rite of Spring" cider ($7) which was dry, tart and smooth. Pro-tips: -Come before 2 p.m. on the weekends if you want brunch (they don't say this anywhere on their website from what I can tell). -They have two outdoor patios; one is on the sidewalk and totally open-air; the other is a tented affair in the parking lot. For COVID reasons, the open-air one seems better. -Expect a wait of 20-45 minutes at peak time on the weekends for brunch.
