This place was definitely on my list to visit. We made a reservation, and although we might have needed it, it was fairly busy for a weekday. We were seated quickly and the staff seemed nice. It was quite loud in there and some people even came in, sat down, and left due to the noise level. The first thing we noticed was that the prices were higher on the in person menu than what was posted online, which I do not like, I want transparent pricing so I know what to expect. The upcharges were stated on the menu, but there seemed more than in a typical restaurant, like if you want cheese on your omelette. The prices were also a bit high, but for me, what I ordered came with a fairly large portion.
I started with a bellini. It was good, on the pricier side, but came with a small bottle of prosecco. Maybe not my favorite bellini, I would order something else next time, but I do like a brunch spot with cocktails. We also got their house coffee. That was great! It was lavazza, so nice and strong, and delicious. That was worth coming back for since most places offer cheap and weak blends. I got the chocolate chip pancakes. They were thick and fluffy, full of flavor. You get three of them and they were ginormous, it took three separate times to finish them, so a lot leftover. We also tried the famous Hudson's salad. When I was a child, I would get this every single time I visited Hudson's restaurant inside the department store. It was my favorite. This was good, but it did not taste exactly the way it was back in the day. I liked the shredded lettuce, but the meat, cheese, and gherkins were sliced finer back in the day. They also charge more for more dressing. The server said it came with two and to not order extra yet, and she was right. We did not need more dressing. In all, it was a good salad, and oddly enough, tasted better the next day. It did not wilt, it stayed fresh. I would probably get something else next time since other restaurants actually make it better these days, like Jennifer's maurice salad. It did come with some very nice pita, so I would not say to not try it, it was still very tasty and a huge portion.
We got some cheesy grits. Those were very nice and had some good cheese pull. Not as good as Waffle House, but still worth ordering. The omelette was fluffy, but did not come with cheese. It was alright, a bit bland and seemed to either be way more expensive than what was stated online, or they had some serious upcharges. You need to be aware the bill is digital, so it is very hard to tell what they are charging you for.
Would I come back? Yes, I did enjoy myself, but it was pricey, so probably not too often.
