"Otium chef and TV personality Timothy Hollingsworth is spreading his talents to West Hollywood next, taking over kitchen control of the beloved Hudson on Santa Monica Boulevard. The laid-back dinner and cocktail spot has been closed for several months as ownership revamps the restaurant’s dining room and kitchen. The Hudson is a staple restaurant for the more mellow side of West Hollywood, nestled well off the Boystown strip and La Cienega’s club scene. Over the years the moody dining room has mostly focused on drinks and casual bites from meatballs to tacos, but now Hollingsworth will bring his own approach. That means everything from simply orecchiette pasta with spring peas to honey-glazed lamb ribs and beyond. The menu and the price point will both be more accessible than at Otium. Coming along for the ride is chef de cuisine Michael Kahikina, who spent time at Barrel & Ashes previously, and longtime Otium bar director Chris Amirault. The latter will oversee an entirely new bar program for the Hudson when it reopens in a matter of weeks. As for timing, Hollingsworth and partner Ricky McIntosh say they’re still workshopping menu items now in anticipation of a reopening of the restaurant this month, in partnership with existing Hudson owners Dilip Bhavnani and Brandon Hawkins. Look for an opening before the end of the month. Hollingsworth continues to operate Otium, Freeplay, and CJ Boyd’s Fried Chicken." - Farley Elliott

One of the best happy hours in Los Angeles/West Hollywood. Really nice staff, the best Mac and cheese I have ever had and great drinks. Make your way here whenever you get a chance. Go on a first date here. Just get here!

The food was ok .. but we seriously waited like 45 mn to receive or food, plus I asked for french fries and I got potatoes instead. Sad experience therefore the food was consistant.

Amazing food, drinks, and atmosphere! Most food items are about $12 and a delicious mimosa is $4 or Bottomless is $16. Great for brunch with your friends!

My favorite bar in town. Great happy hour drink prices- best in West Hollywood. The bar manager and servers are very personable. Great atmosphere, will continue to return.

We’ve been to The Hudson many times. It appears as though they recently changed the food menu which stands to reason there is a new chef. The previous menu/chef offered amazing comfort food reminiscent of southern style cooking. I’m sad to say, this current food is simply bad. We ordered three dishes all of which were no different than average bar food but was prepared to look like it was gourmet cuisine. To top it off, everyone in our party got food poisoning. I will say that the service is impeccable and environment very inviting. Great place for Mimosa’s. Just don’t order food. So sad because it was once the mecca for brunch food.

Great spot for bottomless mimosas and when you’re done brunching you can continue drinking your bottomless at the bar!
