Cake lovers will be in heaven when they visit Hummingbird. Every cake is delicious. Try the mile high salted caramel (share with a friend, the slices are huge) signature red velvet in either sliced gateaux form or cupcake. The rainbow Cake is visually stunning if you want something for an occasion. You can order a cake in advance for a special occasion via their website or phoning the central line. Cheesecake or brownie, can't decide, they have made a cheesecake brownie! Hot drinks available too!

This places cakes are to die for. Have to get my mum one every opportunity I can find. The service is second to none. The cake selections on display are always works of art. Buy cakes cupcakes or even a slice, and the slice is quiet fat. Definitely go for the carrot cake and rainbow. See you soon guys.

Never had a bad experience here. Vegan cupcakes particularly delicious and often cheaper than regular cupcakes. Pumpkin whoopie is amazing during autumn months. Would recommend. Ok pricing. Pictured is chocolate vegan and vegan red velvet.

The best vegan birthday cake you could ask for. Soft, tasty and it was a hit with all our friends. The staff at the Islington branch was friendly and the cake ready to be collected. Love Wins

I had a lovely carrot cupcake and chai latte. The cupcake was moist with the perfect amount of spice and a frosting that complemented it perfectly. Nice chai latte, but they're quite hard to mess up. Staff were polite and friendly, but at times were a little bit loud for someone who gets sensory overload easily, and to be honest, anyone. They were obviously excited about something because a couple of times, they were shouting in the kitchen out onto the shop floor, as well as whilst on the shop floor itself. I definitely don't mind people having fun on the job, but maybe just take it down a few decibels?! It's also a shame that there are just 4 stools in a small area to perch on. A place with such lovely cakes warrants more space to come and sit down with friends whilst you treat yourselves. Also, anyone in a wheelchair or with mobility needs isn't exactly catered for here, if they want to stop inside and eat. It would be quite a squeeze for them to not feel "in the way".

Google
Worth every penny -- these gorgeous, professional, creative and DELICIOUS cupcakes are the best I've tasted in London. Ideal for a tasty snack, with a cup of tea or buy 4 of them for a cheap and cheerful dinner party gift! I tried their bacon/maple/caramel cupcake and was floored at how delicious it was. Not much sit-in space at this location, so plan for a take-away.

I popped into my local Hummingbird bakery store for the first time in a while and it's like I never took a cake sabbatical. There's always amazing variety of delicious fresh cakes.. and though the taste of the cakes are unbeatable the real stars of this store are the staff!! They are perfect; super friendly, helpful and make the best suggestions. The ladies I was served by today are the reason I pop into this store so often. Thank you so much ladies, I truly value your amazing service. PS: If you've never tried the Kentucky Bundt cake you are seriously missing out.

I bought a slice of red velvet cake and salted caramel chocolate cake a few days ago. It came to roughly £10(!) so I had high expectations. The red velvet cake frosting was incredibly sweet, to the point of being sickly. The cake itself was dry and lackluster. The salted caramel cake was so salty I could barely eat it, it was disgusting. The chocolate frosting on this cake was really nice, but considering the price I paid, not good enough. Very disappointed Don't bother with this place, its overhyped and overpriced.

Yelp
When the birthday boy mentioned in passing that he wasn't much for desserts but did love a good Key lime pie, I noted it down as any good friend, neighbour or colleague would. Then I began a search of London. Could I procure Key limes and make the pie myself? That idea quickly fell flat and that's where Hummingbird Bakery appeared. Via their website I was able to order and pay for the pie and pick it up at this, their new Angel location. The process was easy and the people working there were as sweet as their baked goods. Only problem was the pie. Nice as it was, every person who'd had proper Key lime pie in the past had the same reaction after tucking in: it lacked the punchy zest -- the mouth puckering tanginess -- they always associate with this dessert.

Yelp
A very small unit, about 100m from Angel Stn. There are 5 barstools to sit and eat inside. They had the usual fantastic selection of cupcakes, pies, brownies etc My favourite being the black bottom. I have heard their richmond branch does an afternoon tea, so i think i will have to give this place a go

Yelp
They only have 1 gluten free cake which I found to be quite poor. However it's not too expensive for what you get.

Yelp
Smaller than the other branches in Notting Hill or Soho, this Hummingbird Bakery offers the same or even more (as is less busy!) than the others. It is more a take away place as it only has 3 or 4 stools facing the wall, but when the weather is nice, you can sit outside and enjoy the coffee and the cupcakes! All the cupcakes are amazing! My favourites are the Red Velvet and the Black Bottom Cupcakes: DELICIOUS!! Apart from cupcakes, that is the speciality, they also offer cakes, brownies and other sweets as well as coffee and a small shop where they sell some merchandising and their recipe books! Four stars out of five because there is no space to enjoy your sweets inside!

Yelp
I AM SOOO HAPPY THERE IS A NEW LOCATION NEAR MY NEIGHBORHOOD! Every now and then, when my sweet tooth aches, I don't want a scone! Or a croissant! Or baklava! I just need good ol' American CAKE. If you get there at a good time there is plenty of selection and sometimes are still warm from the oven. My personal faves are carrot cake and red velvet. They also have seasonal cupcakes. Right now, they have an Eton Mess cupcake, and it is wonderful! Imagine a soft vanilla cake with not-too-sweet frosting then topped with strawberries and meringue sprinkled on top! The location is only 5 minutes from Angel tube station and right by tons of businesses. So it makes it easy to grab dessert after lunch or if you need an afternoon pick-me-up before you drop from all the shopping. So welcome to the neighborhood Hummingbird! I will be visiting often!

Yelp
Cute little American bakery. It's very tiny inside seating wise, with enough space for around 4 people, so not as big as other hummingbird stores, making it more of a takeaway place. Don't let that put you off though, the cakes are to die for. My personal favourite would be the lemon raspberry ripple cake, closely followed by the the rainbow cake. Portion sizes are very generous and more than enough to keep you satisfied. There's a wide range of cupcakes, cakes, brownies and whoopie pies. The monthly specials change and are always worth a look. Price wise it's a little on the expensive side, especially if you sit in, with a slice of cake roughly £4.50 to takeaway and over £5 to eat in, so not a place to visit everyday, but well worth the odd visit.

Yelp
Pretty small but very cute bakery. I had the red velvet cupcake which was good, the chocolate and peanut butter whoopee which was good, and the black bottom cupcake which was delicious! I'll be back to try some other goodies, and get another black bottom cupcake.

Yelp
Just so yum! I highly recommend the only thing I ever eat there - WHOOPIE PIES!!! All the flavours are yummy and far easier than making your own (which I did before I discovered that they sell them here). If you only try the cupcakes, please give the whoopie's a try. And lucky, they're big enough to share.

Yelp
Saw this place advertised in Angel Station so I sought them out. I got a vanilla cupcake with vanilla icing and a chocolate Valentine cupcake with chocolate icing. The vanilla cupcake was stale! The chocolate was more moist but for a chocolate cupcake the flavor was lacking. Both cupcakes are not filled to the top of the paper wrapper, about 1/4" down, and then there's a ton of frosting on top, too much for me. Employees were very friendly, but I'm disappointed!

Yelp
I got the carrot cake and red velvet cupcake. The red velvet cupcake was extremely disappointing to me. It was very dry and the frosting did not make it better. I feel the best frosting for red velvet cake is the cream cheese frosting which it wasn't so that was the most disappointing part to me, but if you don't care for it and plan to get a beverage as well then the dryness may not bother you either. However, to pay more than £3 for a cupcake that is dry and not topped with delicious frosting is just a waste of money. As for the carrot cake. It was delicious and perfectly moist, it's nothing special, just your basic carrot cake, which is what I was craving for so I would definitely get this again. I feel like it's a bit pricey for nothing special but if you have to serve a craving then do what you gotta do. I personally don't have a huge sweet tooth so I was able to share this with my boyfriend and be perfectly satisfied but that isn't me saying the slices are huge either. Overall this place is just so so. If you're having a party and want to impress I wouldn't order from here, this is a more of a daily satisfaction sort of thing.

Yelp
Boutique American style cupcake place hits the streets of London. They also serve up some other options such as brownies, woopie pies, and cakes. Everything is beautifully made. They even have some gluten free options which I always think is a plus. It is actually hard to eat them because they are so beautiful. They always have a special flavor of the day/week (couldn't remember what they said). It is definitely expensive, but if you like cupcakes they do them well, and have a good selection to choose from. I liked that they were moist and not dry, and the frosting while sweet wasn't overpowering of the flavor in the cake. I thought that everything blended well nicely together. The service was also helpful and friendly. I had a fantastic apple strudel that actually had pieces of baked apple in the center of the cupcake. It was very tasty.

Yelp
My favorite cupcakes/cakes in the world. Red velvet and carrot cake are the best.

Yelp
Had the snickers cupcake - Really yum. Downside the price. No space to sit and eat as only a few seats.

Yelp
It was my birthday this week and normally my baking family opts for homemade cake. Unfortunately, it was a very busy week at work for all of us, so we had to resort to buying a cake. Where to buy it from? The choice was easy. I am a huge fan of the Hummingbird delicacies! Pretty much all of their flavours are amazing. Especially when it comes to their most popular red velvet cake, which happens to be my favourite type of cake. Their cream cheese frosting is to die for! I got a red velvet cake for my birthday and it was delicious. The decoration and the icing job looks so classy and the cake itself was so tasty. The cream cheese frosting does a great job of cutting through the sweetness of the cake. I think the cake itself was a bit dense compared to the homemade version my sister makes, but overall the combination tasted great. plus the cake kept very well even after a few days. Very impressed!!
