Had such an amazing experience with the two young ladies working! The food was phenomenal and I had to come back for one more! For something made so fresh it was pretty darn quick within 10 minutes of ordering! If I’m in Newmarket again, I’ll be sure to stop by for another Gyro! Highly recommend!

Didn't plan on eating lunch as it was my birthday and we were going out for dinner later, BUT, we decided on something anyway, my wife suggested the hungry donkey. WOW, the chicken was perhaps the nicest I've eaten since arriving in Canada five years ago, flavoursome, tender, juicy amazing!! And the rice and small potatoes were all excellent Highly recommend

The Hungry Donkey was one of the best if not the best greek spot i’ve ever tried!! Highly recommend, they use quality ingredients which makes it incomparable to majority other greek spots.

Probably THE BEST Chicken Souvlaki I’ve ever had. The tenderness, juiciness, seasoned so tasty and cooked to perfection. The generous amount of QUALITY chicken breast blew me away first! The warmed fresh wrap and Tzatziki sauce made me roll my eyes to the back of my head. It was so darn delicious! I usually order pork souvlaki at Greek restaurants because I’m always afraid of being disappointed by dry chicken breast. These kabobs are prepared and cooked with love and perfection. The sauce is balanced and you can taste every herb. I love that they lay their crispy delicious fries right on top. I love to pick them out and eat them separately but I get it! It’s brilliant. Every single bite had a huge piece of juicy chicken. I’ve also enjoyed their pork souvlaki and spanakopita. Service is always lovely, helpful and efficient. I highly suggest you have the Epsa Iced Tea Peach drink. It goes great with this cuisine.

Had Loaded Greek Fries with pita and tzatziki on the side. Oh my goodness. The fries were done perfectly, the chicken was so flavorful, and the secret sauce was rich but not overwhelming. Then the pita and tzatziki… it was like having an amazing spinach dip. Top notch.

Authentic Greek Cuisine in Upper Mall Food Court! What an unexpected delight to discover such high-quality food in a food court inside a mall. This place offers truly authentic Greek cuisine! The chicken souvlaki (souvlaki kotopoulo) was perfectly grilled and bursting with flavor. The potatoes in lemon sauce were tender and full of that delicious citrus tang, just like they should be. The tzatziki sauce was creamy and had the perfect balance of garlic and cucumber. We were genuinely impressed and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. It's a hidden gem in the mall, and we’ll definitely be coming back for more

If you’re looking for authentic and delicious Greek food, the Hungry Donkey is the place to go. I’ve always been greeted with warm and welcoming service from Tom, the incredible owner and his team. The food here is mouthwatering. Some of my personal favourites include: the lemon potatoes, perfectly seasoned and bursting with flavour , the traditional gyro and the chicken souvlaki. If you want a little bit of everything, the gyros bowl is a must-try! It comes with rice, lemon potatoes, two skewers, tzatziki and pita bread (for two). Everything is fresh, flavourful and cooked to perfection. If you want to get the lemon potatoes, go before 6-7pm — they are eventually sold out because they are so delicious! The attention to detail in both the food and the customer service truly sets The Hungry Donkey apart from other places. Whether you’re dining in or taking out, you’ll always leave satisfied and already planning your next visit. Thank you, Tom and the entire team, for creating such a great experience for us. Me and my family will continue to return.

The Chicken Souvlaki pita was awesome. Its definitely one of the top food choices at Upper Canada. I really enjoyed it and would absolutely come back just for that. The only downside was the service, which could be a bit more friendly and welcoming. Overall, great food and worth trying!

The rice bowl was a box. The rice was lovely: fluffy, with a good lemon flavour. The potatoes had a very nice lemon flavour too. Tzatziki was rich & creamy. Ground beef was pretty good: soft & flavourful, but could be moister (pork gyros was better). The salad dressing was zesty. The pita was as great as before

Went to upper Canada for a quick lunch. This place caught my eye and was in the mood for a gyro. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Giving me suggestions if favourites. After taking my order they even bring it to my table. Great service for fast food. I got a wrap, and for the size the $12.99 was a great price. I got the pork one. It was so juicy and the meat so flavourful. The onions and the fries inside delicious. I also ordered a side of fries to snack on which are seasoned and pretty tasty. To wash it down I ordered a sour cherry drink. Some people may like it, but it was a little too sweet for me (reading the label 34g of sugar). Overall a great place. Clean, clear menu, friendly staff and of course delicious food. Would go back again to try the chicken wrap and maybe some of the other dishes.

Food is excellent. Recommended. It's Greek street food - the sauce is very good tasting, and I really liked the pita. There's a good variety as well.

Very good experience here. Chicken gyro. They put fries in the wrap, too! Delicious. I asked for a dipping sauce for my fries. A gentleman gave me some kind of mayo/mustard Greek sauce. So good. Very unique. Decent service, too

The food is amazing & service is great. It's a clean & well laid out place with cute Greek stuff that you can buy.
