What a great spot for all things gaming. Thank you “The Hungry Dragon” for hosting a Pokémon League Cup. It was a fierce competition. I cannot get enough of the cafe Lounge inside the store. The food looked amazing.

Fun place if you like to play nerdy games and collect cards. This spot is the spot to go! They also have giant chess game that our little ones were able to play while they were waiting... So funny to see them playing on pieces that are bigger than their hands ..

I love this place!!! The shop is very spacious, decorated with wall art, shelves full of games and toys. They also have a big area full of tables and chairs for hanging out or to play games. They have lots of events like DnD, Lorcana, free game nights, paint your dragon, make your own dice etc which are really fun. Now they even have a cafe with really good strong coffee, teas and good eats. I started coming to the Hungry Dragon in March to learn how to play Dungeons and Dragons. I really enjoyed learning how to play DnD and have had nothing but great times here. I literally cant wait for our session every other week. After just my second visit, the owners already knew my name which was very impressive. Johnny and Kevin are always so friendly and have created a fun and safe environment for everyone. I’ve met some really cool people here too. I am so glad I came here and don’t plan to ever stop. If you are considering giving this place a shot, don’t hesitate! You won’t regret it.

Incredible spot! If you're going for pokemon, sealed product can be a little pricey, but it's still way better than Tier 1. Food is addicting - I come here just to eat sometimes, the loaded tots are great. The atmosphere makes me want to come back again and again. Singles are sold at market price which is nice. They also host work from local artists there too! And to top it all off they have a little rewards system you can use to get free stuff! Love it here.

The in-person playing experience is really fun. However, my gripe is with the buying experience for Warhammer products. A couple months ago, I attempted to preorder a combat patrol through the store. They said since it was a couple weeks before the release, that they might not be able to get it. They never gave me a call back well through to the release and that left me without the combat patrol. I thought okay maybe I didn't give them enough time. This time, I called them the day after the preorder preview announcement. I was told they would talk with the local Warhammer rep the next day and give me a call back. I didn't hear back again and called today right before preorders go live. They told me that they haven't heard anything back. This leaves me high and dry 8 hours before they go live to find another place to preorder it from. Also, the lady I spoke to wouldn't transfer me to the employee who handles Warhammer preorders because I forgot his name. I was told the day before that he would be in at the time I called and I could hear her in the background talking to him. I was willing to spend hundreds of dollars at this store to support local but instead it doesn't seem like they want my business. I wouldn't recommend preordering Warhammer releases here as you will likely be left with nothing.

Love the atmosphere and their weekly pokemon tournaments! Best game store around! Friendly owners, good food, and even better games! Their little points system is also great to get free food. They sometimes even discourage scalpers and give good prices on sealed by taking off the wrap.

Google
The shop had their soft opening and I absolutely love it! Plenty of games and accessories, and a huge wall of sample games you can play right there. Snacks and drinks to keep you comfy while you hang. Can’t wait for the cafe to open! You could easily spend hours. This is the perfect nerdy 3rd place.

Google
I can’t recommend this hobby shop enough for all your niche geek needs. They’ll fit the bill whether you’re into warhammer, DnD, TCGs, books, 3d printing, resin casting, board games, or are looking for some tasty food and nice chatter. The people who own and work there are great at helping newbies, kiddos, and experts alike.

Yelp
My partner and I stopped by The Hungry Dragon in Temecula on a Wednesday around 2 PM, planning to just grab a quick coffee -- but we ended up staying until closing because we loved it so much! The vibe here is awesome -- super welcoming, creative, and community-oriented. They have a café area, a retail section with goods from local artists, and even private tables and rooms people can rent out. When we were there, a few groups were playing board games (which are free to play, by the way, and they have a really extensive selection), and we even noticed a kids' class happening in the back. It felt like such a lively and inclusive space where everyone could just hang out and be themselves. We tried their espresso -- it's really good. Highly recommend "The One Up" and the "Lady Lavender" -- both strong, not too sweet, and super smooth. The menu had plenty of great food options too, and everything we tried was solid. We ended up chatting with some folks from a local writing group and just felt totally at home. Overall, it's such a gem for Temecula -- a perfect mix of café, creative hub, and community space. We're definitely planning to become regulars and keep supporting local third-space spots like this!

Yelp
Quick stop for lunch while visiting Murrieta today with my husband and we found this spot which is everything we love: cafes and games! Attached to a game shop, The Hungry Dragon is every game lover's dream! We ordered the pork belly fries and Philly sliders, along with the poison apple to whet our palettes. The Philly sliders were delicious, threw me off they didnt have actual peppers and did have a little bit of a kick, but they were delicious and filling. The pork belly fries were my personal favorite. The pork belly was tender and the sauces blended well with the potatoes, cheese and pork belly. The poison apple was not overly sweet, it was well balanced and the apple flavor really was the star, The game shop had adequate spacing for tables and merchandise. They had a lot of items available for all kinds of gaming: tabletop, TCG and board games. Definitely a spot you will want to check out if looking for the perfect game for yourself or a gift! Staff is very friendly and super helpful! If only I didn't live so far away, I'd probably become a regular here!

Yelp
The Hungry Dragon is amazing! Visited here multiple times this past month and every time has been a blast. The shop has a good amount of space and tables to play games and a great selection of board games to buy or try out from their library. Besides the good vibes, one of the best parts about The Hungry Dragon is that it lives up to its name in a sense; in other words, it has a cute cafe that serves drinks and food. Some personal cafe favorites of mine include the Pork Belly Fries (good portion by the way) and the Butter Beer drink! In any case, if you're looking for a place with a perfect balance of fun, friends, and food, check out The Hungry Dragon!

Yelp
Great place to hang out and play games! Recommend the Bacon Mac & Cheese and the Smothered Pretzel.

Yelp
Downgraded a star instead of 5 stars since the used board games were quoted to us at regular prices. Also, another game that we purchased was the only one in stock and was unwrapped with the sides taped. Since I wanted to purchase the game, the co-owner or manager said that if anything is missing to let them know. The cafe is up and running now with an interesting menu including pork belly pizza. Didn't try the food yet. Nice owners. Store is super clean as they are just a few months in biz. More like 3.75 stars but, we'll round up to 4.

Yelp
First time here to check out this new shop. Very clean and spacious and in a great area. Owner is very nice too. The lemonade was pretty good. This looks like a fun place to come hangout with friends and play games. Definitely recommend stopping by here to check it out. I'll be back soon.

Yelp
Soooo nice. My favorite card game store in the area BY FAR. I'm a beginner to card games and I always feel very welcomed and the staff are very friendly and help me with all my questions. Events are very beginner friendly and the drinks are very good too. I love the hungry dragon !!!

Yelp
The Hungry Dragon is a gem in the Murrieta/Temecula area. Their wide variety of board games--both available to play (free to play with any purchase or $5 without for up to 3 hours), and to purchase--coupled with a nice stock of card and table top RPG games like Magic the Gathering, Lorcana, Dungeons & Dragons, Warmhammer, etc... makes it impossible to get bored *pun intended* during your visit. There's ample opportunities to learn new games, meet new people, and taste delicious eats. I've played through The Hungry Dragon's "learn to play D&D" quest line, a handful of one shots, several new board games I hadn't tried before, and most recently I participated in Free RPG day! I have yet to be disappointed by the hospitality of the owners Johnny & Kevin--if their mission is to make this third space feel like a pressure free & fun way to have fun and make new friends, they are rolling Nat 20s left and right (but not too many in a row bc apparently that's like rolling doubles three times in Monopoly)! Keep it up!!!

Yelp
Great atmosphere! Friendly staff. They've quickly turned into one of my favorite spots in the area. They support local artists. They have fun events, family-friendly place, with great tater tots!

Yelp
A place to hang out, play D&D or rent games to play with friends and family. They will have a cafe open soon. Check them out.

Yelp
This place is so much fun! Went for the first time with my boys, and can't wait to go again. We had some great drinks, and the zucchini fries were excellent. The prices were very reasonable, and all of the staff was very kind and accommodating.

Yelp
Great coffee and gaming atmosphere! Creative tables and a good space for D&D campaigns and CCG tournaments.

Yelp
Awesome place, has a little cafe and the guy working there is super nice and knowledgeable, he even gave our daughter a little gift when she was running amuck in the store, can't wait to go back!

Yelp
The staff was super helpful and very in depth about their stock when I was there. I will definitely come by again and want to try their cafe!

Yelp
This place is a dream come true for my husband, who loves Warhammer and DnD. We stopped by on a random afternoon to check it out after seeing someone mention it on FB's Temecula Talk. There's designated space for people to play DnD, Warhammer, etc. There's also a private room for rent if you want to have a small group game away from everyone else. The owner, Jonny, is also working on opening a cafe that serves food for guests to enjoy while playing. Jonny is also an enthusiast and part of the community so he's really taken into consideration what guests need and look for. It's amazing! Highly recommend everyone check this game store out!

Yelp
The store is amazing, clean, well-stocked and nicely sized. The owner, Johnny was super friendly and helpful! Witches Brew Lemonade was sweet and refreshing. I will be back as soon as I get time to game because the back room is a dream for tabletop RPGs!

Daniel H.

Yelp
Definitely more of a place to play board games / D&D than to buy board games. While they have a few games, the selection is small and occasionally weird (how did they end up with two copies of the Lords of Waterdeep expansion, but no copies of Lords of Waterdeep base game?) That said, the ambiance is nice. Lovely place to chill with friends and play some games. Finally, the food is surprisingly great. I had the turkey pesto panini and it was better than many I've had in places that only do food.

Yelp
I love this place. The owners are two of the nicest people you could ever meet. All the food and drinks they have at their cafe are absolutely delicious. The environment for gaming is fun, welcoming, and inclusive to everyone.

Don M.

Yelp
One of the nicest venues I've seen for gaming. Their stock of MTG decks and accessories was great. Their board-game selection is modest, as others have mentioned, but they had a game I'd been looking for and failing to find at several other stores, so I was very happy! Wound up spending more than planned. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. I'll definitely be back despite the long drive from where I live.

Yelp
Best place in town to play games and hang out with friends! Definitely a spot I will come back to and tell all my friends

Yelp
I went yesterday to check out the TCG section. I had such a fun time! I met the co-owner yesterday and he was such an awesome guy! I can tell this place truly cares about the community and it's so heartwarming to see this! Great prices and a great place that brings so much joy in the TCG community! It was my first time there yesterday and I will be going back! Please dont ever change your love for the TCG community Hungry Dragon! The world needs local card shops that truly cares about the TCG community rather than greed!

Kevin G.

Yelp
the Hungry Dragon is a great place to purchase all your card need from Magic to Lorcana and all kinds of board games come and check it out you won't be sorry you did
