Excellent food and drinks, i ate here twice on a business trip. The Irish chicken curry was delicious, wings were crispy, food came out so hot I had to wait a while to dig in. My servers were both attentive and very friendly & professional. I had the Soup of the day, which was very tasty but WAY too hot I needed to wait 10mins to begin eating it. The Irish chicken curry was extremely tasty and the highlight was the Sticky toffee pudding. 3 x courses and 3 x glasses of wine + tip was in excess of $100 so it’s not a standard Irish bar price point but its also not a standard Irish bar feel or fare either. I gave 4 * for service as 1 of my servers could’ve been a little more knowledgeable about the menu, she hadn’t tasted most of it, she was extremely helpful and charming to chat too and I appreciate honesty. However the other server was very informed and recommended the sticky toffee pudding which was the highlight for me. The atmosphere was a little quiet and slightly confused with a live Jazz band and football being on big screens, also the room seemed very bright. I would personally have preferred a more traditional Irish style of music and more atmospheric vibe/ lighting, this is being picky but for the price point I think that’s fair. I overall thoroughly enjoyed and will definitely be back.

This was another stop on a business trip. I stopped in around 7:30, so it was a little late for the area, and the place was fairly empty. I sat at the bar since I was by myself and was promptly greeted by the bartender. I had a salad and a house burger with bacon and cheddar. The salad was fresh and a good size, and the burger was cooked to order and hot and tasty. The bartender appeared to be covering additional tables on the floor so when it was time to wrap up I did have to wait a bit as she disappeared for a while to attend to a couple of new customers at tables. Not bad, but worth noting. Also, as a recovering F&B person of 15+ years myself, one other pet peeve worth noting is when I was leaving, they're was a table with 2-3 employees, including the hostess, sitting by the front door doing setups and just talking. It's work that has to be done, but should be done somewhere in the back of the restaurant, but not by the font door in front of guests, especially when we are having to wait a little longer for service because staff has been cut down to minimums for the night. Just not a good look. Otherwise, it was a nice place, friendly staff, and good food.

I went here for supper. The server greeted me politely when I arrived. I ordered a pineapple cider. It wasn't to my taste, but some folks who like super sweet cider might enjoy it. I ordered fish and chips for supper. It came with one large piece of fish and two smaller ones. The fish was nicely cooked with a crunchy batter. It was served with a generous portion of fries and a side of tartar sauce and ketchup. The server brought a bottle of malt vinegar without me asking, which I thought was a nice touch. Over the course of my meal I was served by three different people, but overall the service was good. The manager came by and checked in on everything at a few different tables, which impressed me. One point worth noting is the noise. The restaurant was about half full, but the volume of the noise made the experience less enjoyable. The decor includes what appeared to be time tiles on the ceiling, which are cool to look at but may have contributed to the noise. If you don't mind it loud, this is a decent place. I expect that anyone who is Hard of Hearing would have a hard time having a conversation here. There were some interesting looking cocktails and food items on the menu and I might go back again to try them.

We rented The Hunter's Hound for an employee event. The Hunter's Hound staff, especially Chloe, were great to work with when we planned our event - helping up pick out our menu and keeping us within budget. Chloe had great suggestions - for example, she suggested bowls of fries for each table - which were enjoyed by all. The day of the event, Chloe and the team were there early getting things set up and working with us to make sure things were just as we had envisioned. We used the A/V and TV screens for our event, and that part went perfectly too. The food was amazing and came out hot, the service was impeccable (there were plenty of staff on hand so no one waited for drink orders or other needs) and the space was comfortable for our trivia game. Throughout the event, everything went smoothly and a great time was had by all. I heard people asking if we could do this type of event every year and I got a lot of positive feedback from those who attended. Thank you Chloe and the entire Hunter's Hound staff for a great event!

Went to celebrate Valentine’s Day dinner with my husband. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was cozy and romantic. The food was absolutely amazing. We had the fried Brussel Sprouts as an appetizer and they were fanatic. There are an abundance of drink selection from alcoholic to non-alcoholic. As someone who’s sober I loved the mock-tails they had to offer, they were all super delicious. I 100% recommend the Irish Chicken Curry as a main course. I can’t wait to go back and try their other dishes.

LOVE this place. I’ve been here so many times and I still get the chicken liver pate every time. It’s DELICIOUS. The only thing I haven’t liked here so far is the fish and chips but that’s just a ME thing because my boyfriend thought they were good. The place is very aesthetically pleasing and I just love the vibe here. They are very on top of things here and even when it’s busy, you’re never waiting too long for anything. Definitely recommend giving this place a try if you haven’t already!

Started my sister's birthday celebration in this restaurant-- my first time. Excellent, excellent, excellent starting with Kirk, the manager, greeting us, to Victor and Jose taking care of us. The staff was so accomodating, and food delicious. (Fish & Chips, Chicken Curry, Rum Old Fashioned) I may have to return before leaving the DMV next week!

Great new place in Friendship Heights. We hit for brunch and were extremely pleased by the quality of the food and drinks. Eggs Benedict were amazing and my Irish Breakfast was tasty as heck. Coffee Martini was amazing. Can't wait to get back for dinner and drinks. Beautiful restaurant. Service was good and I think will get better as they settle out of new place opening challenges.

Just a quick note to say 'thank you' for such a lovely experience I had recently at Hunters Hound. I sat at the bar and had some wine and delicious food from your bar menu. The bartender was so sweet and attentive. The manager, who's name I cannot spell to save my life, was terrific and stood next to me and asked if I was well taken care of. The restaurant is so pretty and comfortable. I can't wait to go back! GAE

We came here to celebrate the birthday of our Irish friend. We had a great time as we were a large group of friends. The service was good, although they did miss one order, but corrected the situation. The food was good, and they did accommodate my gluten-free needs. I would recommend this for large groups, as they handled the checks very well. They also have many monitors to watch a sports game, and their bar area seems especially happening. Still, I would not go out of my way for the food - as I said, it was good, just not anything special. The reason to come here is more about the ambiance and group gathering.

I've been to Hunter's Hound three times. The first time was for their happy hour - not a very impressive menu/discount for happy hour. However, their food is very tasty. So far I've had the fish and chips, the Guinness stew, and the meatloaf. The atmosphere is kind of upscale pub. Each time we've gone, we've had great service and didn't have to wait terribly long for food or drinks to get to us.

I arrived in town on Sunday around 5pm for work this week. I tried to eat at the Hunter's Hound the last time I was in town, but arrived too late and while the bar was open, the kitchen was closed. I was warmly welcomed as I walked in from the rain and I was by myself and asked to sit at the bar for a bit to eat. I was immediately walked over and had the chair pulled back to sit down. :-) The bar tender was also super friendly and welcoming. I decided on a margarita with mescal (I learned I prefer tequila - preference) and an order of chicken wings. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming as well as decorated for the holiday season which made me smile. The game was on and I was able to sit back, relax and have a casual bit to eat. The wings were good and a much larger portion (sized wings) than I expected. I took what I didn't eat to go. I would absolutely come back next time I am in town for work and looking for a place to relax and feel comfortable eating on my own. Thanks for making me feel welcomed.

I wish the service was better bc I like the look of the place. Waitress was slow moving, busboys and food runners trying their best. Fried chicken sandwich was solid; burgers mid w frozen patty (waitress forgot the cheese) and tap draft beers were a bit flat. Ordered Cesar salad as app unfortunately it came w meal, under dressed and uninspired. Music was too loud inside. At least it was expensive, oh wait that's not good.

The food omg so good!! I could smell it as I was walking down the street which prompted me to go sit inside. That fried chicken sandwich with the mayo was so delicious and the fries were extra crispy just how I like them. They have a patio and it's some what of a warm day so the sun and my drink definitely matched the vibes I was looking got today. The service was great, friendly staff and fast with the orders! Only thing I wasn't a fan of was the dogs on the patio but no biggy the place was absolutely great.

The food here was great. The fish and chips were crispy and delicious. The salmon was good, though I wish it had more of a sear. The sticky toffee pudding was yummy and had a unique flavor. It was nice to be able to sit outside and watch the streets while eating. I also liked the vibe of the restaurant, it's like a pub/bar but has an open and modern look.

The Hunters Hound is a great place and only one of a few British Pubs in the area. My wife and I went here a month ago after my wife's haircut appointment and she got there first and ordered a Kona Pipeline Porter and Deviled Eggs. We then shared the Land & Sea Pate platter and the Yellowfin Tuna Tatare which were wonderful. Our entrees were the Fish & Chips and Beef & Guinness Pie that we also loved and had some leftover pie to take home. We also had a Grolsch and Aslin Power Moves Hazy IPA as well as the Cheeky Charlie and The Snoop cocktails. Our server was also wonderful as well. The ambience is nice as this is a somewhat upscale place which is not surprising given the neighborhood and reservations are recommended as this is a popular spot. We came back again with two of our friends for New Years Eve when the 19th Street Band played for a $20 per person charge. When we came we were greeted with the same waiter who remembered us from before. We had dinner before so we just got an Apple Crumble and Ice Cream Trio, Aslin Volcano Sauce and Cheeky Charlie drinks, and and a Sparkling Rose Special wine that was similar to champagne that was on special to ring in the new year. We look forward to returning.

Came here with no expectations and the food turned out amazing. The beef chunks were tender and flavorful. Such a hearty meal. The added cocktail finished the perfect relaxation needed.

A possible victim of its own success. MOBS of patrons came to this place on a placid Thursday evening. Staff was clearly aghast as soon as one walked in at more guests arriving. The bar was impossible to approach on account of the huge patronage. I was seated next to a rowdy crowd of 60-somethings. When my server came I found out that a couple kitchen items (pepper?) and a couple draft beers had already tapped at 7PM. The food is great, the drinks wet, the ambience is fine, if you like large crowds. Enjoy

The food, service, and atmosphere far exceeded my expectations considering the location in a mall. I enjoyed the shepherds pie and a couple pints, plus last food service of 10pm makes it one of the only options in the area for a later night bite and drink.

This was the worst service I have ever experienced. We left and canceled the food. Avoid.

Out to dinner with a bestie to check out this new spot! Orrr fairly new spot! This Irish bar has a nice vibe when you walk in the door with blue walls, wooden accents and Edison light bulb fixtures... ( I love those!) Ordered some great gin drinks with bubbly! Burgers were thick and juicy :) One bean burger and one was a REAL burger. I had to do it.... I got mashed potatoes which I really enjoyed. There are no leftovers haha Our server had a great sense of humor!

I came here twice last month. This place was in walking distance of where I was staying. The first visit, the three of us came early to catch happy hour. It was advertised on an easel outside. We were seated at a table, so we first thing we did was confirm that we could do HH there. The bar area had customers but the seated area was dead aside from us. They said yes but didn't give us any additional menus so we looked up the HH deals from their website. We waited at least 15 minutes and no one came to the table. Finally, my friend got up to look for someone before we got any service. We all ordered cocktails and apps based off the HH menu. I tried the Jessica Rabbit, deviled eggs, hummus, burrata, and fish and chips. My cocktail was tasty except my cherry garnish on a pick had fallen into my drink with the handle side down. Egg was ok. Was very lackluster. I'm not saying it wasn't tasty but it was purely because I like fried onions. They were such an overpowering topping, you don't taste anything else. If you remove them, you just have a plain old deviled egg slightly on the dry side. Hummus was also ok and plain. I enjoyed all the pickles on the side more than the hummus itself. The burrata was my favorite app. Was still cold but better than hot I suppose. The biggest problem was the imbalance of bread. I think the hummus and burrata each came with 4 pieces of bread. Unless you are a complete monster, there is no way that is nearly enough material. I guess you can argue still eating cheese without bread, but eating hummus by spoon is another story. My entree was super hot and fresh when it came out. Loved it. 3 pieces of fish and lots of chips. Great. If anything, on the bland side. Perhaps that is characteristic of the cuisine. A bottle of malt vinegar was provided which helped. I had a bite of my friends' stew and pasta dishes. Stew seemed good. Pasta wasn't my thing. The fun part was the check. *sarcasm* We were greatly annoyed to learn none of our drinks were HH $8 priced so basically double the cost. The server just said only certain cocktails are $8. Does that also mean only certain beers were discounted? No, because everything else had a description/explanation. If it was select cocktails, why wouldn't you just say that verbally or on the menu. Extremely disappointed with this kind of advertisement/menu/service. Vowed never to return. But I did. I came back just for a late drink with coworkers this time. We just sat at the bar table and I had a cider. The server/bartender was super nice and attentive. 5 stars for him. This part I would do again. Not the other.

Great upscale Irish cuisine in Bethesda. We walked in on a chilly Saturday night and we're seated in the bar area quickly. Ordered Chicken Pate, Soda Bread, Guinness Beef, & Pappardelle. Everything was fresh, delicious, and satisfying. A great experience overall!

Lovely Irish pub-esque place for brunch. I say pub-esque because it is just too clean to be a real Irish pub and the food is not too greasy. This is a place where you can bring your vegetarian friends, they offer several goo veggie options. I, for one, loved their Fish 'n Chips, a good old Irish delicacy. Their steak and eggs are nice, portion is not too big yet very filling. They also have a good selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beers. Overall, I hope they stick around. This is a good place to have a HH too.

This is the place that Friendship Heights needed. Although the prices are a little high, I enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service here. Ever since Chadwicks closed, there really hasn't been a neighborhood bar except for Clyde's in the area. For parking, they only gave us a $3 discount ticket so we had to pay $6 to leave after two hours there. Draft beers are $9 each which is priced higher than Clyde's but their cocktails are priced at $14 so that is a better deal imo. The Cheeky Charlie was good as well as the Rum Old Fashioned. We really enjoyed our appetizers especially the Smoked Whitefish Pâté and the Rotisserie Wings. I would take a pass on the Kobe "Pigs in the Blanket" as the pastry was still raw. For entrees, I recommend the Beef & Guinness as my nephew indicated it was really good. Fish and chips were good although just a little greasy for my taste. They are having lots of food specials for St. Patrick's Day so I will have to check it out.

I usually expect, as many of us do, that the establishment would excel at all the items listed on a menu when it's this short. I was craving a salad - a SALAD, which doesn't require cooking or much of a craft, was an absolute s*show. The iceberg lettuce was FROZEN AND WILTED. There was ONE egg, and a bit of avocado, sprinkled with very dry and tasteless grilled chicken. Smallest Cobb salad I've ever seen and at $22, my whole body sighed. I'm not hard to please but a frozen salad?! It's worse than airport food. It was so lackluster, I felt compelled to write this review to warn others making the same mistake I did. And ooooooh, mistakes were made. The fish & chips were fine. There was a retirement party on the left and the spot was smaller than expected but the high tops are first come first serve and we were able to nab a 4 seater easily. My first drink (Tito's & club soda) came out wrong- tasted weird and they changed it out for me, which I appreciated. I wouldn't ding them on that. Honestly, I don't think I've written a scathing review before and I feel uncomfortable as I write this but the disappointment was unreal. I have other parts where I was like "this is below average" but I won't mention those for now bc it might've been a one-off and that wouldn't be fair. The decor was nice and had enough screens to make a March Madness fiend happy. Don't forget to get your parking ticket validated on your way out- they cover 2 hours only though. I really wanted to like this place but I don't think I'll be coming back and cannot recommend this place.

There were 3 of us, and we each ordered the burger. They were well prepared and cooked exactly as we ordered. The fries were good, and they substituted any side for the fries at no charge. The sautéed spinach side was very tasty but a bit too greasy. The ambiance is nice and the service was friendly.

Great location. Restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. Not stroller friendly, had to walk all around the restaurant to a corner where there was a ramp and to eat outdoors there is barely no room for a stroller since they have big umbrellas in between tables that cant be moved. Felt uncomfortable staying there cause of the stroller situation and not being comfortable where we were sat cause it was very uncomfortable, however didn't want to walk to another restaurant. Food wise, the food was delicious, the salmon amazing.

Lunch visit with a friend. Soup and salad as always. We got th class Potato Soup and it was delicious. We like to split the salad as it is big enough for two. We got a side order of their summer corn. Very quick service. The manager brought the food to our table and always greets us and makes sure we are okay We ate indoors but most people were eating outside as it was a lovely day I like this place. It runs about $15-20 each for lunch even when we share the salad.

Service was almost nonexistent and slow. It wasn't even that busy. Almost 30 min wait for a club sandwich and Irish breakfast. The sandwich had obviously been sitting and was cold and soggy. The chicken was so dry and tough I could hardly bite it! I didn't get fries that I ordered. I told our "server" and she took it back to the kitchen. I thought they were going to replace my sandwich with a fresh one, but she brought the plate back out about a minute later with some fries on it. They threw the sandwich in the microwave to warm it up - this made it worse! They also put the side dressing on it without asking me - I didn't want it on there. I told the server it was inedible and I would eat the fries but to take the sandwich off our bill. The other plate of food was also not warm and missing items. This place looks nice and is a nice area, but not worth the DC prices you're paying. I hope they get their act together. I would like bring my friends and family there but probably won't because of this experience

This was my first experience with The Hunter's Hound. We were meeting a couple of friends who had recommended the restaurant and had had a good experience in the past. I have to say my first impression was pretty disappointing. The entire bar was reserved for two parties, and the bartenders would now allow us to order a drink while we waited for our friends. We were then seated in a back part of the restaurant with a server who hardly visited the table. The food was good overall. They have a decent happy hour. It took forever to get the check and to have our plates cleaned. Overall, the service was disappointing, considering our bill was nearly $300 for four people.

I've visited twice so far. Unfortunately, the first time the service was pretty bad as the transition between shifts wasn't well-coordinated. This was much improved the second time we went. The food was decent (had hummus, fish and chips, and the Irish chicken curry), but nothing necessarily noteworthy. The drinks were great! I hope they keep the "doctor's orders" on their menu for a very long time.

Pros: - beautiful interior and lovely ambiance, pub vibes but without the craziness or crowds (though we went at an off-time) - excellent and quickly-made food - parking validation for the nearby garage Cons: - slow service - there was only one waitress while we were there, but despite having only a handful of tables to deal with, it took quite a while to get orders in, or to get our takeout boxes and our check when finished Overall, will definitely try it again!

If I knew I was going to have such a good time, I would've taken photos for a full review! This place made my Saturday! I was pleasantly surprised that during the busy time, they gave our two person party, a table big enough for four. Likewise, the restaurant was so clean, which isn't always the case at pubs. The service was phenomenal! When I saw my waitress looked like a teen girl, I was assuming I wasn't going to get great service. Instead, she checked us frequently and made great suggestions. I had a Magners and fish and chips. The standards never fail. For dessert, I had the sticky toffee pudding. It was the hit of the night! Usually you're getting a small amount of the cake, with a big scoop of ice cream and toffee on top. Here, the cake is king. They give you a massive and decadent portion. It'd be a great choice for a family to share because the two of couldn't finish it all. The toffee is on the bottom. This made it so we could easily control our sugar intake and please everyone. The perfect treat to stay warm on a cold days night!

A nice, foo-foo'ed and fusioned up version of an Irish pub. The main courses are generally well proportioned and tasty, if a bit expensive. The Sunday roast dinner was delicious, though the Yorkshire pudding could have come out hotter and fluffier. It was already a bit cold and deflated by the time dinner was served. But then, this is suburban America - you're never going to get sublimely superb ethnic (yes, you are ethnic in these parts, England) food here. The one ghastly disappointment was the soda bread. Two paltry pieces for $4.50, one of them so small, dried and forlorn, I almost wanted to coddle it in a blanket nurse it back to health rather than eat it.

Love it here! Been going for years and it gets better every time. Definitely worth the trip (and your money!)

Burger was good . Raspberry lemonade was not that great too bubbly Service great. Parking was no problem. Our group had wings and the curry fries. They loved the fish and chips which was a good serving size.

I stopped by here earlier today during their happy hour for an early dinner and I did enjoy it. Ordered the bean+mushroom veggie burger, which was actually really tasty (though the patty was served VERY hot--be careful not to burn your mouth, as I did) and came with a large side of salad. Their happy hour (which runs from 3-5 pm) doesn't include that many options. I had a glass of red wine (there was only one red option included in the happy hour) and it was just OK--the portion was closer to half a glass, rather than a full glass, and the quality of the wine was not that great. But at $7/glass, it was a good deal. They have plenty of seating both inside and on their outdoor patio, under umbrellas. The decor inside is very inviting--classy, but not very formal. It's a great happy hour or dinner date place. The service was great. I would come back here, though I'll be in no rush. The food and drink offerings seem a bit generic, for lack of a better word, and the place is not very vegan-friendly. Overall, though, I do not regret coming here and do recommend this place.

Friendship Heights area is a dearth for bars. Still so bummed with Chadwick's closed. Hunters Hound gives this area a fresh and inviting place to eat and drink. Most of the places around here cater to the elder generation, and glad to see a mix of young families, singles, and older folks here. The service was quick and efficient and the appetizers we ate wings and whitefish pâté was spot on. The pigs on the blanket was okay. Could get same item at Trader Joe's. My burger was fine and good fries too. My nephews Guinness stew looked great and will order that next time I'm here. Overall, so glad this place opened up!

Fatally mismanaged restaurant for fine-dining prices. Having lived across the street from this restaurant for a while, I gave it several tries before giving up. While the restaurant charges top-dollar typical of the upscale dining in the neighborhood, it completely fails to deliver (even the food to your table, on occasion). On one occasion, I was given the veggie burger rather than the classic burger I had ordered--which would have been a minor issue, except that the veggie burger has the taste and consistency of ash. Upon making the staff aware of the issue, I was told "wow, that shouldn't have happened" as I was handed the check to pay, never to see my waiter again. On the final occasion, I was alternately directed to bar seating and asked to choose my own seat. Evidently I chose wrong, as I acceded to the bar seating request before the waiter removed the food menu, as apparently I was only to order from the bar menu--a FAR smaller food menu--before once again my waiter disappeared. Hard to rate the food, as the only time I made it that far in the experience it was an ashy travesty (the place is regularly packed, so I assume that somewhere down the line the experience can be fine). The ambience is very nice, with a mix of classic fine-dining with a hand of modern aesthetic. However, hard to enjoy it while fighting for my life to experience the basic expectations of a restaurant--food served to me and eaten.

This Irish-American restaurant opened recently and it's a great addition to the area. The prices are a little high, but it's a really nice place to celebrate special occasions and family reunions. In terms of food, I enjoyed the appetizers and dessert the most. We ordered the rotisserie wings and whitefish pate, both of which I would order again. The whitefish pate came with grilled bread and assortment of other vegetables, while the wings were juicy, crispy and had the right amount of sauce. I ordered the beef & Guinness as an entree and the sticky toffee pudding for desert. The sticky toffee pudding was great, it's similar to a bread pudding that isn't too sweet and it came with a nice scoop of ice cream. The cocktails are worth trying, specifically the cheeky charlie. It was very well-balanced, and the ingredients complemented each other instead of overpowering each other, exactly the way a cocktail should be. It's not a place that an average young professional could afford to go to regularly, but this is a very nice spot for special occasions!

Horribel experience. Worst staff and customer service. Requested to sit outside and host (shorter girl with curly hair) gave me a nasty look as it was inconvenient for her to walk outside. Charis already dried after rain. I asked for some water which I never received. After waiting for 10 minutes went inside to use the restroom and when I came back my seat was taken. When asked the guests they pointed to the same host and told me that she seated them (even though she gave me the same table and gave menus as well) Went to ask her why she did that and she gave me another nasty look and said "I am busy and cant help you." I asked for the manager and she said that she is not available. When asked another server he pointed to the manager a lady who was on the phone. I had a client there and didnt want to make a seen. Half way through dinner, server grabbed our plates and said "do you want desert?"They didnt even ask if we are done. Extremely rude staff specially their host. Never had that experience anywhere else. Do not eat in that restaurant.

The food was great. Authentic fish and chips, full Irish pints and homemade tartar sauce. Service cheerful and attentive. Live music adds to the "night out" feel. Try this place out!

Love the Niçoise salad and Burrata. Very friendly staff! Also a very cozy environment on a rainy day!

Delicious food (even classics like fish & chips are top notch). Also, an open & friendly ambiance with nice decor. The hostess (Vanessa) went out of her way to make sure we and our kids had enough space for our stroller and were happily settled in and accommodated.

The treatment that I received this morning at this restaurant was absolutely ABHORRENT!!! I patronized this establishment specifically for the Irish breakfast. I initially came here about 5 months ago and enjoyed the food. I saw they had an amazing jazz band this morning that was about to play and asked the band members if they could please play the song "Beyond the Sea" and I'd be happy to tip them $20. They were all kind, accommodating and obliged. In the meantime, I went to the atm, ordered my food to go and met three people who seemed to be looking for a place to eat as we crossed the street. I recommended The Hunter's Hound. I explained that they had a tasty Irish breakfast and the food was good. Immediately, they said, "Yes, we're going!" They walked behind me into the establishment and were immediately seated. I checked my to-go food before I left and discovered they forgot the Irish bacon. I spoke with the hostess and she asked me to open the lid on my to-go order to show her that the bacon wasn't included. She then told another employee that my bacon was missing. That employee attempted to TOUCH MY FOOD WITH HER BARE HANDS and I explained to her that that was NOT okay or sanitary. She saw that the bacon was not in the platter and said she'd alert the kitchen. I was told to wait an additional 15 minutes (after I had already waited 20 minutes). I asked if I could have a glass of house wine gratis for the inconvenience during my wait. The hostess said she'd have to talk with the manager. I said no problem. The manager, named Niamh, came out of the kitchen walking extremely fast, got very close to my face and said to me, "What do you want??!!" Taken aback, I asked if she was the manager and she said yes. I said that I had simply asked if I could have a glass of wine gratis for the inconvenience regarding the food that was missing in my to-go order. She nastily replied that I "was being aggressive" and asked again what I wanted. I looked at her with shock and said, "I'm not being aggressive at all. You are the one being aggressive. All that I want is the bacon that was missing from my to-go order." I added, "I've been extremely kind and respectful to everyone in your establishment, I gave the jazz band a $20 tip, I encouraged THREE people who I didn't even know to patronize the establishment and I had someplace I needed to be so I was simply asking if I could have a glass of house wine gratis while I waited 15 ADDITIONAL minutes for the bacon that was missing from my order. She literally got in my face again and accused ME of being aggressive!!! I told her nicely again that the "aggression" wasn't coming from me at all - it was coming from her! She then stated that they don't provide free beverages. I then said to her, "You could have simply led with that; I have no issue at all if you don't do that." She then told me that she would comp my meal. I told her that I appreciated that, but I would much rather have paid for the meal than deal with the disrespect that she showed me. I also explained that I showed kindness to everyone in the restaurant, and you never know what someone is going through when they patronize your business - so just be KIND. I then asked her name and she told me Niamh. I told her my name as well. She then aggressively GRABBED my hand WITHOUT my permission and condescendingly acted as if she was shaking it!! I explained to her that I NEVER gave her my permission to touch me in any way, nor had I touched her, and I asked her, "So who is really being aggressive??" She gave me an evil look and reminded me that she compensated me for the food. I explained to her again (WITH TEARS IN MY EYES) that I have money and would have preferred to have been treated with respect than compensated for the meal! I then shared that I had recently lost a close loved one and that was why I was even there. It was very clear that she could care less!! She gave me a very cold stare and then stomped away. I looked at the hostess, who had overheard the entire exchange, and I said, "Why is she so mean?? She is the manager." The hostess, who seemed initially nice when I first entered the restaurant, looked away and didn't say anything at all. It felt as if she agreed with what I said, but was afraid to say anything. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day, but I can't believe that Niamh is the MANAGER of this establishment!!! I am a woman of color, and the disgusting treatment that I endured from this manager and her calling ME "aggressive" while acting aggressively toward ME was ABSOLUTELY REPULSIVE!!! I really wish that I had recorded this horrible incident! When I got to my car, I got video of Niamh going outside on the patio right in front of my vehicle and laughing and giggling with a couple as if she had not just treated me horribly!!! I don't know if this person is racist, angry or just evil, but I will NEVER patronize this place again!!!

Disappointed. Appeared nice and would be welcome addition to friendship heights but inattentive service and an almost $20 cheeseburger that was a solid tasteless lump of meat mean we won't be back.

They are closed today, Martin Luther King Monday. All of their outside lights are on in the happy hour sign Is standing by the entrance. Turn off your lights and take your happy hour sign inside if you're closed.

I don't know how to make you believe that we didn't intentionally go to The Hubter''s Hound on St. Patrick's Day, but going on St. Patrick's Day was probably the best decision of 2023 thus far. Not only is the hunters hound, the place where adults go for St. Patrick's Day, they apparently also go for a really good nosh and yummy drinks. The wings, amazing. The empanadas, amazing. The fries, AMAZING! It was all around delicious. Drink wise, Mezcal and cranberry compote, are a win. Also. It was really packed, but our server, who was also the bartender was pretty attentive if not a bit rushed, but that's OK, it was a crazy night. And the music, fantastic, but you could hardly hear it because it was jampacked. Can I add that the record is gorgeous, and you would never remember there was a Cartier in that same space? Parking is also super easy way behind building although we came out at about 12:30 AM and one of the gates didn't work, but other than that fine. A great time was had by all!

Our (4 people) first visit to this restaurant. In the reservation we were asked if this was a special occasion. We replied yes, it was a birthday. Upon entering, i asked someone where to hang my jacket. He left without responding and never returned. Our waitperson never acknowledged the birthday (no big deal, but why ask in the reservation?). It was very obvious that she had little or no training. She paid little attention to us and terrible table-side manners. We were in no hurry to order and she continued to ask if we were ready. Finally, I asked her to give us 2 minutes. She stood 5' from us looking at our table until we decided. Who does that? She also didn't clear our empty cocktail glasses during the meal. As we were leaving, the cabal of employees were at the front. The greeter yelled Happy Birthday! Wow...For the service, I'd apply 1 star. The food was good and worth a visit. The mussels were of a massive size and the only complaint about them was there was no bread served with them and the serving container was so deep you couldn't reach the braising liquid until about 80% of the mussels were eaten. The fish & chips were very good. A decent portion and the fish nicely battered and crisp on the outside and tender and moist inside. I'd give the food 4 stars. Overall, the service was bad enough to warrant 2.5 stars.

I wish I had read the Yelp reviews about their chicken being dry before I ordered the Chicken Club Sandwich for lunch. The grilled chicken breast was very dry. The mixed green side salad had what seemed like plain water for the dressing. No flavor and wet, which made it hard to fork and enjoy. I needed a tooth pick to get the chicken shrapnel out of my teeth. Can't comment on anything else since that was all I had. At least the water glass was consistently refilled.

Terrific and welcome addition to the neighborhood in all respects--AND they validate ! Very friendly staff team, excellent hospitality. Our server Ms Gaby was so nice and helpful ! A true gem. Comfortable, well-designed facility, spacious yet cozy, AND excellent air conditioning. We had the fish and chips--the best we've ever had outside of Ireland itself. Plate of chicken liver appetizer--really well done. Rounded off with expertly made drinks; couldn't ask for anything better. Well done ! Welcome to our neighborhood. So glad you are here !

We ate lunch there today. It was our second or third visit. There is a lot of nice seating on the patio, as well as inside. We ordered Fish and chips (excellent) and a Cobb Salad- the best I've ever eaten . The location is at Friendship Heights- and there is parking in a garage directly behind the restaurant.

Do you know what it's like to get served at a standard obviously below the others tables in your section and end your night with getting yelled at (literally yelled at) by your waitress for politely asking for the Caesar dressing you asked for 5 minutes ago? It's completely humiliating. Pros- Easy parking. On a busy Saturday night with no reservation we were seated in less than 5 minutes. Lively atmosphere and beautifully decorated. The Food- Food came out with understandable delays considering the restaurant was new and busy, but waits were not terrible. Food was warm and was nicely plated. Husband ordered the half chicken and I ordered the chicken Caesar. Both solid dishes with nice presentation. Chicken was a little dry on both plates but the restaurant was busy so that's understandable. Cons- Had to eat our appetizer with no utensils or napkins after asking a couple of people including our waitress for utensils. The table that was seated right next to us arrived after and received both well before well before us. Not a big deal, but kind of annoying to go to a restaurant and have to eat with my hands. Utensils came before the entree but still no napkins. Asked again and received a stack of small cocktail napkins. The tables next to us had proper linens, but I didn't want to be the person who asks for napkins a third time on a busy night, so ok. After our dinner arrived our waitress didn't stop by to check on us so we flagged her down. We asked for more dressing for my salad and she rolled her eyes. Five or so minutes later my husband politely flagged her again and asked about it and she looked at me and yelled and rudely said that she has no control over when the kitchen gets it to her. I was so stunned and embarrassed at being spoken to that way- especially as I was the only black woman in that section. I felt quite singled out and humiliated in front of the other patrons so I left immediately and waited outside as my husband paid the check. The restaurant seems fine but I don't see us going back any time soon on account of that experience.

Amazing food - particularly the mussels! Service is solid and the ambiance wonderful. Easy parking in garage behind the restaurant.

This place was amazing. My friend and I came here to get a drink and chat. The staff were great and funny. It was pretty lively with a few groups of people throughout. More busy for dinner then people left, and some groups came in for evening drinks but it did not fill up again. It was a nice place to sit to drink and chat with each other and we'll be coming back.
