The Huntington is an absolute gem — peaceful, inspiring, and full of spring energy. The Chinese Garden especially moved me; walking through it felt like stepping into a piece of home. The architecture, the water, the blooming trees — everything whispered nostalgia. It’s one of those rare places that makes you slow down and just breathe.

Great place to visit. Plan to stay for several hours to see it all and take advantage of the free rides within the gardens as there would be lots of walking

One visit isn't enough. The cactus garden is magnificent. A walk through the gardens is like taking a vacation.

The Huntington offers general admission with various discounts and free entry for young children. Their membership programs, priced at different levels, grant members unlimited annual access, special event privileges, and discounts, making it a great way to support the institution while enjoying exclusive benefits. For current pricing and details, visit The Huntington's official website.

A wonderful garden! My advice: stay away from the crowds in the chinese and Japanese gardens which are of no particular interest to a botanist, and head south to the incredible succulent garden.

Yelp
On a hot summer day, I visited The Huntington for the first time with family. It got hot around noon, so I decided to spend time in the art galleries and cafe. There's so many flowers, plants, and art to see and learn about. I'd definitely want to visit again during a cooler day to get some more photos of the flowers here. I didn't even get to visit the Chinese Garden, so I'd want to see that when I come back. I took most of my photos at the Rose Garden. The climbing roses were so interesting, and there was some shade that allowed for better lighting during the bright late morning. I think it would be nice visiting closer to sunset since I prefer the lighting for my camera during that time. I eventually made my way to the Herb Garden and met two nice docents. One lady said I could rub on the Thai basil leaves and smell them. The scent reminded me of the basil from pho restaurants. Then, another docent named Jane taught me about deadheading. Her work cutting stems and flowers caught my interest. She mentioned how she used to be teacher, and I appreciated the passion she put into sharing her knowledge with me. The Mabel Orientation Gallery was very interesting because they had a model of the Pacific Electric Railway Company's "Red Car." Pacific Electric connected greater Los Angeles with a streetcar transit system running on steel tracks. As someone who uses public transit a lot, it was fascinating to see how this railway became the precursor for today's rail lines in Southern California. I appreciated learning how many of Metro's rights-of-way use the routes of the original Pacific Electric lines. Henry Huntington's ownership of the Pacific Electric Railway definitely gave me a clue as to how he amassed the wealth needed to build his estate in San Marino. The European art gallery was once the mansion of Henry and Arabella Huntington. Seeing the mansion's amazing size, lavish interior, and staircase window looking out to the gardens made me think of how only a few elites gained so much prosperity during the Gilded Age.

Yelp
Surprisingly extensive, incredibly diverse, and welcoming to everyone, The Huntington is a must visit and might just become one of your favorite spots in Los Angeles. Don't be fooled, the place is huge! It's like a large European estate but perhaps even larger! You have a library, museum, and of course the gardens! You can spend all day here and still not nearly see it all. Parking can be problematic and you may have to walk quite a bit to the entrance on a busy day. From the Japanese, to the Chinese, to the desert gardens, each feels like a unique experience. With each theme, you feel like you are transported to an entirely new location. You can tell incredible care and dedication goes into every detail. Whether you are visiting solo, having a romantic date, or coming with a large family with kids, you'll have a wonderful time here! There are souvenir stores, picnic grounds, tea and coffee shops, and much much more for you and your loved ones! The Huntington is a must visit for everyone who has the time and is nearby!

Yelp
So getting here is a little bit misleading, especially if you're on foot. Depending on what platform you're using for a map it will often try to take you down people's private driveways so I recommend taking an Uber to get here. Once I got here, I saw that you had to have tickets so I scanned the QR code and it looked like it was free admission for the day and I was OK with everything but I was not. So that I had to go to the ticket encounter and get another ticket. It was very confusing. When's inside, though I finally figured out that it was a series of several different gardens. Looking at maps it just looked like they were a bunch of different open parks by each other. I didn't realize it was part of this place. I definitely recommend bringing a hat because it's very open and very sunny and very hot and I got very sunburnt. That being said, it was still a cool experience to go and walk through all of the different gardens and seeing the different plants and the flowers and the different themes with each section. I think the price to get in is a bit high though, but still cool to see.

Yelp
This is a very beautiful place!!! You would be wise to purchase your tickets online and avoid the hassle. You're still wait in a line but once your up there you get your sticker and move into the park. As you walk in, you have a coffee shop and gift shop. Coffee shop has free water (you will need it). Bring a camera, maybe a notebook, take a friend, and maybe some good headphones with music. You kina have to be a spoonge here and just take in the sights and experiance this thing. I really enjoyed it and would love to go back.

Yelp
A beautiful garden estate with lots to enjoy for everyone! I've visited The Huntington several times, and each day is different with new areas to explore. Through the CalFresh Museum For All Program, the Huntington is only $3. Parking is also free! Just beware that the rose season and the weekends are very busy. The Huntington's summer music program is excellent. They feature a weekly rotation of musicians in the different themed garden areas. The Rose Garden features classical music from the Pasadena Conservatory of Music, while the Chinese Garden features traditional folk music. Pro-tip #1: Enjoy boba tea in the Chinese Garden and Afternoon High Tea in the English Rose Garden! Pro-tip #2: Picnicking is not allowed throughout the grounds, but the Huntington Store has a designated picnic area with tables and umbrellas.

Yelp
We had an amazing day walking through the various gardens at The Huntington. Although a repeat visit for me, I had an opportunity on this visit to see the gorgeous rose garden which was in full bloom. The Rose Garden Tea Room is now open and has views of the herb and rose gardens. The Huntington gardens are well maintained, unique, calming, and absolutely worth visiting.
google avatar

Linda L.

Yelp
The Huntington is absolutely beautiful!! I came recently and the roses were in full bloom! The staff here do such an amazing job in all the gardens, taking care of all the plants. They look like they're abundant and healthy! We stayed almost the whole day here and we only got to explore a fraction of this place. I definitely want to come back soon and revisit the same gardens and explore more of the other gardens. There's also museums with curated arts and collections that are also just as amazing. I love how they continue to update the areas with new pieces to keep you coming back. It's $30 for a day pass. I'm definitely considering getting an annual membership for $175 for 2 ppl! It's pretty worth!
google avatar

Cassidy I.

Yelp
Pricing for the gardens and museum is high! I would go a lot more often if it was more reasonable. To be fair, it is beautifully maintained and staffed. There are not many restrooms or drinking fountains/water refill stations. It can also get very crowded. I visited on a chilly, rainy day and the parking lot was very busy! The crowds were not too bad, but there were still people everywhere in bad weather.

Yelp
Gorgeous gardens, art, cafe, gift shop, library, ponds....a must when in Pasadena,CA. One visit is not enough. Free parking. Membership available.

Yelp
So big and beautiful gardens !! I especially loved the Japanese and Chinese gardens. Lots to see !! But the parking was super tough. I couldn't find parking in the lot and had to park at entrance on the street on Oxford. The roses are starting to bloom !!
google avatar

Tony Y.

Yelp
This place is soooo huge, it's hard to visit everything. Definitely worth the price and worth going back to. If you love nature and walks, this place has you covered. The gift shop at the end is also pretty cool and filled with knickknacks.
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful and serene place and so worth a visit. I would highly recommend spending a full day here... first you wander, then grab lunch here, wander some more, enjoy a cup of coffee, then finish off with some more wandering, then take the tram back to near the front entrance. In particular, we really enjoyed their Chinese Garden, Japanese Garden, and the Botanical Garden. Highly recommended!!

Yelp
This is a beautiful place! I heard about this place and had wanted to come for years - but the stars never aligned until now. My aunt and uncle were in town and my mom wanted to take them sight-seeing - perfect opportunity for me to explore somewhere new as well! We came here during winter on a weekday afternoon, so it was still a little chilly, but not cold since the sun was out and walking around the huge gardens warmed us up. I loved all the walkways and paths found throughout the gardens - such a relaxing atmosphere made me want to just wander aimlessly through and take my time enjoying the peace. My mom, aunt and uncle were very fascinated by a huge plant that was in front of one of the libraries. They spent a great amount of time circling around the plant, discussing how the plant grows and taking pictures to show friends/family. I got some time to bask in the sunlight as I waited for them. We were able to see some of the exhibits that were on display around the gardens, but some buildings were closed and we couldn't walk through. We made it halfway around (again, this place is huge!!) before my mom, aunt and uncle got tired of walking. After resting for a bit in the Chinese Gardens and taking pictures, we decided it was time to head back home. We caught one of the tram rides back to the front and it gave us a quick view of the other gardens we didn't make it to. I will definitely have to make my way back one day to finish walking around the gardens. I also want to see the inside of the closed buildings and maybe spend time in one of the cafes. One a weekday afternoon - there were people milling about, but it wasn't too crowded. I am sure that weekends, especially during the nice summer months, will be much more crowded.

Yelp
Stopped by on Saturday, 03/29/25. This is my second time here, and the first time I visited this place was back in my elementary/middle school days - so it's been a while. Visiting this place is very nostalgic for me too! General admission for an Adult is $29. You would have to purchase the tickets online and make a reservation in advance by choosing a time slot. I would highly recommend trying to get the earliest time slot as possible as this place is only open from 10am-5pm, and there are lots and LOTS of areas to explore and take pictures! Otherwise, you will definitely feel rushed if your time slot is later in the day. A nice place to get your steps in and spend quality time.

Yelp
This is a must do! We came on Sunday morning, and spent the whole day here looking at their gardens and their American Art museum. This is a very all in one experience! You could easily spend a full day in the gardens, or the museums. No matter what you decide though-bring good walking shoes and a full phone battery! Tickets were $30, and the parking was plentiful. We got to roam freely and chose to appreciate their gardens after visiting the American Art museum. My two favorites of the gardens were their Desert Garden and their Chinese Garden, but ALL the gardens are worth seeing. They keep their gardens well trimmed and manicured. While it was a little too cold for the rose gardens, they still looked great. Be sure to set aside some time for their epic gift shop as well-it is HUGE and you can find plenty of gifts for people here.

Yelp
It has been years since I have been here and what a joy it was. My friend has a membership so our entrance was part of the membership perks. They do check your bags upon entering. The entrance staff was efficient. When asking for directions and information, some employees were more eager to help than others. Our visit was a few weeks after the Alta Dena fire, therefore some of the art exhibits were not open as they were still concerned about smoke and particles in the air. The exhibits we did see were lovely. The gardens were wonderful to walk through and the library exhibits were smaller than I remember, but still informative and creative. We had lunch at the cafe and shopped in the gift shop as well. The gift shop is wonderful! So many different venue type rooms for shopping including a great children's section, cooking section, different theme sections like, gardening, tea parties, etc. The staff in the shop were all friendly and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my shopping experience. Also note that if you or someone in your group has a membership you receive 10% off of any gift store purchases. There are plenty of clean restrooms and the large parking lot is free.

Yelp
What a beautiful visit we had! I wasn't certain we'd be able to get in - at the parking lot entrance we were turned away for not having a reservation. We turned around, made same day reservations (for about an hour later) talked about trying to find a coffee shop in town but figured we'd just eat at a cafe in the Library or Gardens - there are many of them scattered throughout the expansive grounds. The last time visited, the Library spaces (rare books and art museums) were closed. So that's where we started, viewing their Gutenberg Bible, Shakespeare First Foluo, and an early printing of The Canterbury Tales. And In the European Art Museum, there's Gainsborough's The Blue Boy (with other gems here and in the American Art museum). This place is heaven for a retired English teacher and an art museum staffer. (Don't get me wrong, our adult kids love it here too and visit often, mostly for the gardens.) As we walked through those stunningly beautiful interconnected gardens, some of the LA traffic stress just melted away. Even on a busy day with many - many - tourists here with us we found peaceful spots to enjoy by ourselves. My favorite spaces were probably the Japanese and Chinese gardens, though they are among the busiest spaces here. I loved the many water features and the overlook near the boba shop. The medicinal herbs and plants were fascinating. What a wonderful place to spend a few hours (if you avoid the craziness of the gift shop).

Yelp
TL;DR - SO so beautiful, you must visit i grew up coming here to visit the museums, but only recently i came to see the gardens: one of the most beautiful japanese gardens i've visited, it feels so peaceful (directions are a bit confusing though) - it's humongous, and definitely fun for a date or family outing!
google avatar

ChiaChun T.

Yelp
This place is honestly one of my favorite spots in LA. I could walk through the gardens for hours--especially the Japanese garden and the cactus area. It's peaceful, beautifully maintained, and feels like a break from the city. The art galleries and rare book collection are also worth seeing, but for me, just being outside in that setting is the best part. Every time I go, I leave feeling calm and inspired.
google avatar

Sanaz S.

Yelp
I've loved this place for years, and have been a member for the past 3ish years. The grounds are huge, and provide a great way to get your steps in while enjoying the sights. The gardens are well kept and inviting. The eateries are delish. And, the gift shop is full of finely curated gifts. You can spend a few hours here, or make a full day of it. Absolutely love that it's a mix of a historical library, museum, & botanical garden. The parking lot is ample, but can be full on special occasions. Truly an LA icon and a must visit over and over again!
google avatar

Linh N.

Yelp
This is seriously such a beautiful place for those who love botanical gardens and art galleries. The place is very well maintained, and as a plants' lover, this was such a great place to go for a day trip! At this time of the year, camellia blooms were everywhere. We had to skip the rose garden because all the roses are being pruned right now. We went to all the gardens listed on the map, but the main standout were definitely the Japanese and Chinese gardens. They were incredibly beautiful and picturesque. I felt like I was on a movie set walking and traversing through the bridges and buildings that encircled the lakes. Gorgeous!
google avatar

Julia S.

Yelp
Wow wow wow. I can't believe I'm from LA and this was my first time here. But I'm now obsessed. It's absolutely stunning! I took the Estate Tour with the fabulous docent Phillip (he's amazing and a wealth of knowledge)! I highly recommend the Estate Tour because it starts an hour before The Huntington opens so it's virtually empty plus you can beat the heat! I found myself getting emotional during the tour because of how beautiful this place is and the sheer creativity of humans. I can't wait to come back! Every employee and volunteer I met and talked to was absolutely lovely. I guess it's hard not to be lovely in a place as amazing as this!
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
Hands down one of my favorite spots in all of LA! All are welcome at The Huntington - families, dates, solo strolls, etc. There's something for everyone. I love going here on the weekend and strolling through the gardens and seeing what rotating exhibit they have on. I feel like I discover a new part of the Gardens each time I go. You must purchase tickets in advance! The Huntington gets BUSY. The parking lot can also be chaotic at times but there's plenty of street parking outside of the gates.
google avatar

Gregg S.

Yelp
The BF and I were intent on holding to the last vestiges of Spring before the impending Summer The huntington is the perfect place for nature, art, wildlife and culture to intersect. From art galleries to relaxing gardens, you are transported thru time and different parts of the world
google avatar

Holly K.

Yelp
I took myself here for my birthday and probably spent over 5 hours enjoying the gardens! I easily could've spent the entire day from opening to closing hours. I loved the various sections and garden/environment types. I went in September and found it to be a great time for everything that was in bloom. I appreciated that they had educational aspects and interactive aspects (like the smelling garden to engage your senses!). Be prepared to walk a lot! They had shuttle golf carts, but I always saw people waiting for them to arrive. Also, I recommend going when they open because parking filled up fast! There are nice grassy areas that you could lay out and read a book or do some art! Staff were nice and helpful and let me drop my bags off in my car & re-enter (since I didn't want to carry them anymore).
google avatar

Brianne L.

Yelp
This was such a cool place to experience, right here in our Southern California backyard. My husband and I came here as we have lived here all our lives and had never been. There are so many interesting things to see and beautiful art to experience. Art can be found as sculpture, paintings, woodworking, and even bonsai. The grounds are very well kept and beautiful. My only disappointment was that the library, outside of the small exhibits, is only accessible for research projects with prior authorization. I do understand, but as a library nerd, it made me sad. Overall, the experience was great and I can't wait to go back to see even more (as there is so much to see, one day is not enough!)
google avatar

Nancie M.

Yelp
Spectacular ... just go. Right now due to fires free admission until Jan 31st 2025 I was so overwhelmed so much to see u need 1/2 day to get thru . Parking is easy paths are walkable
google avatar

Allison W.

Yelp
The most gorgeous botanical gardens I have seen! Coming in late March, everything was blooming and the sun was shining. You could spend hours here easily; I particularly loved the Japanese and Chinese Gardens with the bodies of water playing into the landscape and allowing for different picturesque sections. Loved seeing the fish, turtles, and ducks here. I loved the different museum exhibits as well! Every employee was so kind, and the good mood spread to everyone there. Parking can be a bit of a hassle, but it's definitely worth it. A perfect place for a family day, a date, or even just a solo walk. Can't wait to be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Love love love ! Every time I've came here It's always such a pleasant experience! It's super relaxing a there is so much to take in! Plenty of buildings to go in an explore , and all the plants and flowers are beautiful If you're going during the day I recommend taking an umbrella to protect yourself from the sun! Best time to go is in Spring ! These photos were taken in September !

Yelp
visited this beautiful place. there are many locations that you can see. there is a magnificent garden with roses, a Chinese garden, a Japanese garden. there is a lake, there is a beautiful fountain. this is the best place for a walk on the territory there are several cafes and shops. we also went to the museum "Amirekki history" it seems this is the right name. and most importantly, a large parking lot. buy a ticket in advance. i highly recommend this place.

Yelp
This is an enchanting place to just come, ground and re energize. Whether you like serene Japanese Bonsai galore sunken garden, Chinese lake camellias surrounded, Shakespeare Rose garden to out of this world succulents garden, it's here. Plus there are three museums on the ground, a library of course but for display, an arboretum, kids playground garden, a tea house cafe you must book, and great healthy food selections cafe. Don't forget the coffee house and gift shop. It's pretty much a one shop stop if you just want to have a lazy lounging day. Great for dates, great for appreciating botanicals, awesome vibe for people watch. It's worth it to get a membership if you want to come more than once a year. They also have festivals all year round you can come to enjoy specially during spring and summer.

Yelp
First time here! I enjoyed walking around and looking at flowers because they are very pretty and colorful. It was fun and good place to go to.

Yelp
The Huntington is my favorite museum. Located in beautiful San Marino, the 200+ acre campus is breathtaking. I've been coming here as a kid, and now take my own family. My family and I recently spent a few hours here, strolling through the pathways, appreciating the art and beauty and having much needed family bonding time. Great place for families, couples, large crowds, etc. If you are visiting LA or a local who hasn't visited, highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
We came on a Sunday and were luckily to able to walk in and be seated right away without RSVP. You get to pick your preferred tea menu depending on the price. It was my first time having tea like this and it was a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and attentive. We chose to sit outside and it was a beautiful day to self-tour the gardens and have a delightful filling meal afterwards.

Yelp
Looking for the perfect date spot? The Huntington is the perfect place to come. Whether with your partner, friends, or even a solo date, you will have a lovely time. Tickets range from Free (for children) to $29 (for adults who are not veterans, seniors, or students). For those looking to save a few dollars, the first Thursday of every month is Free Day. Admission is free of charge with advance reservation. Free Day tickets are available the last Thursday of every month at 9 a.m. until sold out, for admission the following week. I have personally gotten tickets this way and loved my time here. The views and gardens are beautiful. The cafe here had plenty of options, however we opted to bring our own snacks for this trip. They also have a huge gift shop with lots of souvenirs and speciality items. Overall--I highly recommend the Huntington and look forward to my next trip.

Yelp
After the rains in February, Spring has Sprung here at the glorious Huntington Gardens. My friend and I arrived for member early entry today at 8 a.m. it was overcast and chilly and all the spring pastel colors popped all around us. I must've stopped every 50 feet to take pictures of the beautiful blooms. Flying birds were singing and geese were wandering freely in the Chinese gardens in particular. What a lovely way to start the day!
google avatar

Sue I.

Yelp
The mid-autumn moon festival is a fun family event at The Huntington. There's live music, wishes with water lanterns, light bites for sale, a small merchant corner and a show. Tickets are sold about a month before the event and are sold out quickly. Presale tickets were $30, not sure how much general tickets were. I really enjoyed watching the water lanterns float along the pond. The bands at the Huntington are always really great. Their music selection and engagement with the crowd added to a fun night. Overall it's a fun event especially to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Moon festival:

Yelp
Free parking but there is a fee to visit the garden and libraries. As you enter the visitors center there is a line for members and nonmembers. Last time I was here was over 20 years ago and it has definitely changed. I enjoyed my visit, there was so much natural beauty and the Chinese garden was my absolute favorite. I actually felt like I was in another country, very peaceful. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes because the property is massive, lots of walking so stay hydrated. There is also a shuttle that you can ride if you're not able to walk to each garden. I recommend getting a map so you'll know where the stops are and where each garden is located. If you enjoy nature or gardens this is definitely a place you must visit.
google avatar

Yelp
This review is only to address the new rebrand this wonderful place has recently made. The new logo bothers me. It sort of resembles the Eye of Sauron from "Lord of the Rings". (Is that a coincidence!) Why get rid of the beautiful old logo that adds to the experience of the garden and replace it with this simply annoying logo? If this sudden rebrand is to simply try to get younger audiences to visit, then please realize that this new rebrand might also cause older audiences to stop coming. Lately the gardens are filled with LOUD young adults. It's been hard to focus/relax. I guess that is yet another side effect of this new rebrand.

Yelp
The Huntington never disappoints. No matter how many times you visit there's always something new you missed before. The Shōya House is stunning and was brought over and rebuilt! Dont plan of hoping to see everything in one day. It won't happen. I love the Huntington. Had some Dan Dan noodles for lunch at Jade Court Cafe and they were tasty and spicy! Buy your tickets ahead of time and make a timed Reservation for the date you wish to visit. Plenty of free parking.

Yelp
This is a must visit place. The museum and the botanical garden are amazing including the sculptures. It's still spring so all the beautiful flowers put a smile on my face. I especially loved the Japanese garden with its bonsai trees and cute little arched bridges and pagodas. Be prepared to walk and wear sunscreen and a hat and good walking shoes. This place is huge. Over 200 acres!!! I forgot to take more pictures of the rose garden.... Will have to come back.
google avatar

Alejandro L.

Yelp
This is both a magical but educational and informative museum with multiple well manicured and curated gardens of all types. Some even transport you to another place and time. It is an ideal place to show loved ones a little piece of Pasadena and Los Angeles -- and to demonstrate that this city has culture hidden in some corners of the city. Be sure to bring your comfy walking shoes, a snack, and water because you can be here a long time if you choose and view everything from an extensive world-renowned library, to works of fine art, and an outdoor space where one can relax and meditate as well. Def a place that if you haven't been -- go and if you have friends and family out of town -- take them. Little secret -- admission is free every Thursday of each month. ;-)

Yelp
Gorgeous grounds. If you are visiting or live in the area this is the most beautiful and spacious garden to visit. You could spend the full day there. We purchased the annual membership and loved going there for short periods of time, if you at least go a few times a year, the membership is really worth the cost for the convenience. They have a rose garden, Japanese garden, tropical and desert. We got a lot of landscaping ideas here, just beautiful. They have plant sales periodically also. Nice coffee shop, a little cafe with multiple vendors for food and a wonderful gift shop. During the holidays they sell ornaments also. Parking is free in their attached lot.

Yelp
A amazing place to go to with friends and family. Devout yourself to walk around these several gardens with amazing extraordinary plants, medicinal and bonsai. We went through the Chinese Garden and spent hours walking through several buildings exhibiting several plants. Buildings were designed the old Chinese style. Several lakes and bridges to go through... next was the Japanese Garden with several buildings and also an original Japanese House that had the original lumber and was reconstructed accurately. Several other gardens are still available to be discovered but we ran out of time. We came in at 1:00 pm and didn't even realize that it was already 5:00 pm. We need to come back here another day to continue out journey through all the gardens this place off

Yelp
It's always nice coming to the Huntington but my review is for the rose garden high tea experience. Service was great. I loved that they didn't put anyone outside in the sunny spots and everyone was seated under the shade. We ordered the Huntington set for $75 that came with a glass of bubbles and mini lobster roll. The bubbles can be non-alchoholic cider too. My fave out of the set was the lobster roll and the BLT. Scones were buttery and flakey in a nice way. Everything else on the savory end met expectations although the cucumber tartine thing was a bit of a headscratcher as it wasn't a unique item out of everything else in the set. Desserts are ok but I don't have much of a sweet tooth and felt the chocolate items were a little too sweet to finish. Overall still a lovely experience and a top spot to have an afternoon tea experience in this area.

Yelp
After living in SoCal for 20 years, I finally made my first visit to The Huntington Library, and it was absolutely worth it! Just like everyone says, the place is massive--there's no way to see everything in one day, and trust me, your feet will protest. Since we had an afternoon reservation for Rose Garden Tea Room, we booked morning admission tickets to make the most of our visit. Right at the entrance, we noticed they offer a free guided tour (about 60 minutes), which gives a great overview of the different sections. Our tour guide shared many interesting historical facts, and I highly recommend it for first-time visitors! My personal favorites were the Japanese & Chinese Gardens--absolutely stunning! The landscaping, architecture, and serene atmosphere make it feel like stepping into another world. I'll definitely be back to explore more! Pro Tip: Wear comfortable shoes and plan ahead because there's SO much to see!

Yelp
We came in at around 10:30 am and stayed till around 4:30 and only covered about 1/3 of the grounds! We will have to come back. There was a volunteer tour guide that took us through the major parts of the Huntington, giving us nice facts and pointing out interesting plants. The tour itself took about an hour and a half and was so worth it. We loved the Australian, subtropical, and desert gardens the most. As for the food, the Jade Court Cafe was passable. Decent price. Not what I would call authentic Asian food but pretty good American Asian food. The Dan Dan noodles were slightly overcooked but had a great thick peanut-y sauce. The Taiwanese sausage fried rice was not seasoned enough, probably good for a wide audience. There were various sauce packets you could take to season to taste. The only complaint about the Huntington is that the borrowed wheelchair was very uncomfortable for the person in our group who needed the accommodation. The seat was a sagging piece of leather across two metal bars - not supportive and actually triggered a chronic pain flare for the user. The rubber part of the wheel even came off. We also noticed that, while there were accessible paths, the food area was less ADA friendly. Some of this ends up as a result of inconsiderate guests, but by the end of the day what was supposed to be an accessible mobility aid became a stressor. But this experience does not detract from the sheer beauty of the area. We decided to cover the gardens during our visit, and we are looking forward to going through the galleries in more depth next time.

Yelp
This place is a gem. As an avid lover of gardens and history, we absolutely adored The Huntington. The Facilities & Atmosphere: due to the recent winds and fires, many were closed however the ones that were opened were great. You are able to get a membership though to visit almost as often as you'd like (with blackout dates) so if you plan on going here at least more than 3 times a year, the membership (which is essentially a donation) is worth it, especially if you are nearby and would like to see the different exhibits The Staff/Volunteers: Honestly, most of the people there were either nonchalant or very friendly and knowledgeable. We are excited to make new friends with those who enjoy The Huntington as much as us. They provided a great deal of knowledge and information to share when showing the exhibits and area. Food: The cafe was pretty good, similar to one that one might see at a college campus. We went there for a quick bite and it was a decent meal. With a membership you get a % of which is nice. Overall, we are excited to come here again!
