The Huntsman

We had a brilliant Sunday lunch here, booking the private skittle room for a large group of friends. Kids had a great time and were kept occupied playing shuffle board and skittles and adults were able to relax in the adjacent bar. Staff were super friendly and helpful with our requests. Food was delicious, bar service speedy. Everyone was really impressed and enjoyed the afternoon immensely. Thank you Anna & Team!

Decided to extend a weekend away with a last minute decision to stay at The Huntsman. Boy did we get it right! From the moment we arrived and spoke with George at the bar, the perfect 'salesman' for the pub, we knew we'd chosen well. Our host, Boyd, saw to our booking and made us extremely welcome, delivering us to a beautifully refurbished room, with the most comfortable bed and pristine fluffy towels! Ethan looked after our dining experience & promised us a fabulous tomahawk steak from chef Kuba and that's exactly what we got - it was exceptional, with perfect sides and sauces. Shout out to Pietre & Dragosh who delivered perfect pre-dinner cocktails and a silky Amarone. We loved being shown a cosy spot by a real fire to finish off the evening.|Somehow we found room for a delicious breakfast, and appreciated being able to have it at a later hour, looked after by Katie. We only wish we could have stayed longer. It felt more like staying in an exclusive country house. Huge thanks to the entire team for making us feel so special - it is rare indeed to find attention to detail and service like this anywhere! What a wonderful crew - can't to return. D&B x

Visited for Sunday Lunch as a group of 7. We were looked after by Layla (i hope I've got her name right), she was just brilliant, nothing was too much trouble! Food was fantastic and we will definitely be returning!

Stayed with my daughter for one night. It’s just a short walk from the train station, so great location if you don’t travel by car. We were upgraded to a bigger room which was beautiful. Comfy bed, lots of space, all very clean. Everyone really friendly and helpful. Nice food in the pub as well. Thank you, we had a fab time!

This is our second stay at the Huntsman. We were warmly greeted by owners Anna and Boyd who recognised us from our visit earlier in the year. The room was clean and well appointed. The facilities are perfect if you wish to bring your dog. The food in the restaurant is outstanding with an inventive menu. Breakfast is a joy.The pub is perfectly located for exploring the New Forest. Highly recommended

We came to stay for an evening and it was so lovely! The staff were very friendly and kind, especially Peter who gave us a tour of the place as we had not been before. As we booked directly and there was a better room available, we were upgraded at no charge to us! We booked in for dinner the evening we arrived and the service and food was both amazing again! We were even allowed to bring dessert up to our room to eat at our own pace (we were very full but the crumble was too good to turn down!) We would recommend booking the restaurant or breakfast when booking the room as it is very popular there even on a weeknight, but we were lucky to get a table that evening. |We will definitely be returning and give our thanks to the team for being such wonderful hosts! :)

Really lovely, had no idea that the rooms would be out the back in like an old stable block, had its own garden courtyard, really beautiful and special. Its its unique selling point and think that should be shouted about more. The room was lovely, very clean, lots of nice touches. Cant wait to go back in the summer months, as will make more use of the courtyard garden.

Fabulous 2 night stay at The Huntsman. Newly refurbished room, which was very cosy. Tasty breakfast. Great location, perfect for Forrest walks and even a trip to the Isle of White, which we did! Friendly and helpful staff, they kindly helped us with the trains and ferry as we were a little unsure. We'll be back.
