The 19 Best Restaurants in Oklahoma City

"When the Coach House closed in 2016, its three decades setting culinary standards became the rich backstory for this modern American pub. Dover sole and duck confit swam away in favor of white cheddar chive biscuits, BLTs, and smoked beef ribs. With an expanded cocktail program and a kitchen full of state-of-the-art equipment, the Hutch offers some of the best pub fare in the city." - Dave Cathey

My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary and the food and service was really good but I got the mac and cheese and i think it could be better. the noodles tasted hard like it wasn’t cooked yet. But I got the salmon which was really good and my boyfriend got the special new york strip steak and he finished it all. We got the strawberry shortcake for dessert which was also really good.

My husband and I tried this place on a Saturday evening and very pleased with our experience. We started with the Quail for an appetizer and it was okay. The flavor was there, but it was a little tough trying to serve it and the bread was a little stale and some pieces were soggy. We wouldn't order it again. My husband got the pork chop special with a dijon cream and really liked it, but thought that the cabbage was a little off with it, but overall it was a good dish. I got the duck and it was very good and flavorful. We both got the Moscato to drink and it was very good. Our server was good and made sure that we had everything that we needed. The atmosphere is really nice and quiet if you want to have a chance to chat while dining. The prices are fair for what you get and everything come out fairly quickly. It was a good experience and we would recommend it and will most likely go back to try some of their other dishes.

Modern tavern cuisine in a rustic, low lighting dining space. Started with cup of soup of the day, mushroom lentil. Ordered cauliflower burnt ends appetizer, french fries, Mediterranean salad with chicken, and chocolate cake. My lunch was fresh and healthy, and the dessert was rich & perfectly not-too-sweet.

We ate dinner here tonight. It was really good with the exception of the Brussels. I still gave it a 5 stars because my burger and the meatballs were so good. The Brussels were a little oily. I would prefer roasted with a little less oil. Overall it was a good meal and a good atmosphere.

We showed up right at 2pm on Sunday not realizing the kitchen was closing. Not only were they gracious and accommodating the food was incredible. Best BLT I have ever had! 6 huge pieces of thick cut bacon. The biscuit bites were delicious as well! Can’t wait to pop in again for the Club this week!

First time here and we enjoyed it! We came for brunch on a Sunday and Used OpenTable the day before which was smart because they do get busy. It’s in a nice area and easy to get to. It is a small place and cozy. Music was playing quietly so it was comfortable to talk and not have to yell. Service was quick upon entering and gracious. Our server was efficient and quick also, but not so quick that he seemed to pressure us to “move it along”. He gave us some good ordering options and brought our drinks out first giving us more time to peruse the menu and make choices. We didn’t have to order our entire food order at one time which we prefer. We started with the breakfast biscuits with the honey butter. It was delivered with the butter and a small bowl of gravy. The “biscuits” were more like cheese & chive popovers and they were wonderful! We lived the taste with the honey butter ; a mix of sweet and savory. We tried the gravy, but it was bland; thin & no flavor. If you are looking for peppery cream-type gravy, this is not it. The breakfast burrito is huge! Brisket is tender and shredded. Presentation was beautiful. The eggs Benedict with bacon was good.My poached eggs soft to order, but the hollandaise was not savory. It needed could more acid, Dijon mustard, & cayenne pepper; tasted more like a thin lemon curd. It was not savory. The bacon was crisp and not greasy. The “smashed” breakfast potatoes were okay. Some were thick & cold inside and the skin wasn’t crisped; however, smaller pieces were hot and crispy. The overall flavors could have been enhanced with a little wave of pepper and salt as it brings flavor out of all ingredients. We will try lunch and dinner and hope to taste more flavor in the items we choose. Lovely place, very good service by all, and plenty of food options.

Great place to stop in and grab a full service meal. Everything was good from appetizers to dessert. I loved the fresh salad greens the most.

Google
My best friend planned a beautiful birthday brunch here and we absolutely loved it! The food was delicious. We had the option to dine on the patio, but ultimately decided to be seated inside. Either option is perfect, but it was a tad warm outside. The restaurant is spacious and the service was good. The bathroom was extremely clean, but rather small. There is only one sink and stall in the women's. A great place to dine in Oklahoma City for a special occasion.

Yelp
Hutch, located in Nicholas Hills Plaza, is an interesting venue with a view of the kitchen as you walk in. The bar is very nice and fairly long and well appointed. The dining room has a pitched ceiling with the east wall having octagon lines. There is also a fireplace and separated dining area. The restaurant has a casual fun vibe. We started with fried artichoke hearts, green olives, peperoncinis, and garlic aioli. This is a unique appetizer, different, to say the least. It was very tasty and enjoyable. I ordered the tomahawk pork chop. It came with wilted spinich, which was bland, roasted yukon potatoes, and cherry mostarda. The pork chop was overcooked and too dry. The potatoes were good, and the cherry mostarda was a nice finishing touch. Jan ordered the filet with grilled vegetables and chimichurri, yukon potatoes, and a red wine reduction. She enjoyed the filet and the accompaniments. We finished with creme burlee and coffee. The creme burleet was excellent and was served with bite-sized cookies and a brownie. The service was good. The noise was low. The prices are moderate. It was a good meal and a nice evening.

Yelp
Cravings for a burger, I called The Hutch on Avondale for pick up. The professional staff made the ordering process effortless. Our order included: 1 All-Natural Black Angus Burger- 8oz (med) 1 All-Natural Black Angus Burger 4oz - (med) minus cheese. The burgers include Tillamook cheddar, bacon, lettuce, tomato. With your choice of side salad or fries. We chose fries! The food arrived fresh, warm & delish! So good in fact, I forgot to snap a pic. :-(

Yelp
Usually you'll find me at The Hutch on Avondale when I'm in Nichols Hills shopping for groceries around Trader Joe's or Wholefoods. This a great spot when I'm hungry because after looking through the produce and imagining everything I would make when I get home, I want to cook all these dishes in one sitting. Sometimes I just need to fill my stomach real quick before I end up cooking everything I just bought Their cheesy biscuits are a must! Either one does the trick for me. This time I started with their Bacon Cheddar Biscuits w/ Tuna Tartare Finished with their Braised Short Rib

Yelp
Wonderful Mother's Day brunch. We were surprised they had an open table when we booked 1 week out. Excellent service too!

Yelp
Love the ambiance of this place, the food and the bartender (At least today) leaves something to be desired. Bartender seemed inattentive and maybe he was just busy, but I wasn't a fan. My steak was overcooked and my drinks were pretty terrible. (yes I stayed for 3 of them, as we were enjoying lunch) maybe sitting at a table would yield a better experience, but this will be the last time I go. Previously I had went; arrived around 1:00 and they told me brunch was finished; and handed me a menu and made a few suggestions. If you go during this "limited" period expect a very truncated menu.

Yelp
Nice venue, "the old Coach House". Hospitable staff. Excellent service. Delicious food.

Yelp
3 stars - would've been 4 had the server been more pleasant. He seemed very annoyed with the bridal party we had brunch with. Great group of ladies- idk why he was rude?? Other than that, amazing atmosphere and food was delicious. I want to come back for lunch and diner!!

Yelp
This restaurant deserves an A in every category. The food was perfection--so much flavor and great presentation. We sat outside on the patio because we had our kids and it was a great way to enjoy a very nice meal, but we didn't have to worry about our little ones being too loud or disruptive. We will definitely be back next time we are in OKC!

Yelp
The food is good and the service is standard. Definitely worth the visit if you're in the area. The restaurant is cute & quaint.

Yelp
Love hutch! Met a friend here the other week and everything from the service to the food was spectacular! Whatever the chocolate coffee martini was amazing. It wakes you up without not being able to sleep because so much caffeine. Plus did i mention it was delicious? We got the smoked salmon plate served with toasted baguettes. It was delicious the salmon had a great smokey taste! Also very filling. I opted for the chicken Caesar salad since the appetizer was so filling and i cleaned my plate. The chicken was cooked to perfection. I'm a very picky eater with chicken and this was delicious. Also this salad wasn't drenched with tons of dressing like so many places do. The menu here offers such a great variety of options everything from salads to bbq sandwiches or filets. All reasonably priced with great serving sizes. Also service was great very attentive and not once did we feel rushed as we were there almost 3 hours.
google avatar

Cynthia E.

Yelp
The food was good, but very expensive and the room is LOUD. The Caesar was served whole leaf, as it should be.

Emily D.

Yelp
This restaurant is amazing! The staff are extremely friendly, the food is always amazing, and it's such a fun atmosphere inside or sitting on their patio during a nice day.

Yelp
We loved everything about it. Ambience is great, food is delicious and staff is mostly kind.

Yelp
Yall. Listen up. This unassuming, strangely located little spot is exactly where you want to go for brunch. Their menu is small but that's ok! Bc the service is great and their patio is too. Located right in the middle of the Trader Joe's parking lot, the Hutch offers a great presentation of classic American breakfast food. Get a carafe of mimosas and feast on fresh fruit and waffles or an amazing eggs Bennie. Whatever you do, just make sure you make a reservation.

Yelp
Was in the area and was looking for a new place to try and daw this place come up with great ratings. Was pleased to find they have Wednesday specials and their special for the 1st Wednesday of the month is fried chicken. You get four giant pieces of chicken, green beans and mashed potatoes for $34. This is a cozy pub feel but it definitely seems like they have lots of regulars so if you go in don't let that throw you off, the food is good!

Yelp
Unfortunately I can no longer recommend this place. This was once on my "must try" list but things have changed greatly. Couldn't get an amaretto sour because the bartender was new and wasn't sure where the amaretto was. Ordered a New York sour instead and it was not good, way to much wine. Service was insanely slow. Arrived at 6:45 and took forever to get every course. At 8:45 we still had not received our main food. We asked about it a few times and kept getting poor excuses and nothing offered to help improve the situation. We watched literally watched every other table (except one) come in after us, eat and leave. If you mess up own it and make it right. I can understand things not going great but I can't understand why you'd let a table full of people have a terrible experience and not offer up anything to help make the situation better. Poor customer service, poor management. Something clearly got messed up but no ownership was taken. Food was still good, I just don't have 2.5 to 3 hrs to commit to eating here. Eat here at your own risk or if your not hungry yet when you come in, the timing might work out for you.

Yelp
Favorite brunch spot for friends with pretty phenomenal drink choices and consistently good food. Would love more diversity on dinner menu but brunch menu is great and the smoked salmon for events is to die for.

Yelp
Best burger in OKC, hands down. Service was top notch as was the ambiance. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants.

Yelp
I am visiting from out of town and stopped in for dinner this evening. My servers, Jon H and a couple of others, were all extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They checked on me often, but not excessively. I was back and forth between a couple of entree options so I had them surprise me- ended up with the salmon, mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts. The salmon was perfectly cooked and fantastic flavor. They honey is a great touch. Same goes for the sprouts. Mashed potatoes could have been a bit more moist and flavorful but the rest of the plate made up for it. I also had them surprise me with the dessert selection, Jon brought me the key lime pie which was served with fresh blueberries, a blueberry sauce and what seemed to be homemade whipped cream. It was delicious and they're 2/2 on great selections. The price was reasonable for the establishment. For an appetizer, cocktail, entree and dessert my total was about $65 pre tip. No complaints there. The whole vibe, layout and clientele of the restaurant is the only reason it lost a star from me. It reminded me of a country club. It clearly caters to a specific group of people which just isn't 24 year olds in town on business. Totally fine, but it would be the one thing preventing me from coming back. I felt out of place.

Yelp
Menu is just so so. Bar area and patio are nice. Food is just average. This location is one of the best yet last on the list because of menu.

Yelp
This place slaps. 10/10 would recommend. I have never had a disappointing meal. Service is always exceptional. Drinks are perfect. Food is incredible. It's a never miss.

Susan G.

Yelp
Nice lunch spot although when it's full, it's very noisy. Service was fair but from what I could see there were just a few servers for the whole dining room. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but the fish tacos were dry, dry, dry. Nothing like as described on the menu. A piece of grilled fish, a leaf of lettuce, and two tiny slices of tomato on a tortilla. No avocado sauce. Ended up eating just the fish and using my lunch buddy's remoulade for sauce. Pretty unsatisfying. Might go again and try something else.

Yelp
Food always divine. Servers attentive. Cheesy biscuits delicious. Best hamburger in town. Bottom line. The best.

Yelp
I always have a great experience at The Hutch! the BLT and the biscuits + butter for them are amazing. the salmon is out of this world and the key lime pie is just.. *chef's kiss* highly recommend

Yelp
Brunch is one of my favorite meals since I get to combine to of my favorite meals into one. I was in Oklahoma City did the holidays and catching up with friends and we decided to go to the Hutch for brunch. To start off with we got a round of mimosas, pancake fritters, and garlic knots for our party of 8 to share which was great - these two items I would recommend, everything shortly after I would not. I got the steak and frites and my boyfriend got the eggs Benedict, along with a few others at the table. For the eggs Benedict at our table, what was very odd was each egg was cooked differently - one was poached, two were overcooked, and the other was just over easy, but everyone was in agreement that it wasn't what we were expecting. I can't speak for the others but for the plate that I shared with my other half the bread was very hard to cut even with a knife and a little under seasoned. I will say the potatoes though on the plate were good, but that's just about the only thing. As for the steak and frites the steak was cooked well, except it just didn't have any flavor. I had to ask for more sauce and salt just to help me out, but overall I was pretty disappointed with the plate. My friend sitting across from me got the steak and eggs and I think he by far was the most disappointed by his plate because his platter literally looked like the kids plate for a 3 oz. steak. Definitely not worth $17 if you ask me. Although the service was great, I just wished the food was a little better.

Judy M.

Yelp
Fish tacos were tasteless, with under seasoned ahi tuna. Chicken chili needed seasoning as well.

Cynthia D.

Yelp
I was there today. The food and service were good until we were asked to leave because they needed our table. There were four of if. We ordered a cocktail. We all ordered individual meals. We were not there quite an hour. You would think you could have at least an hour for lunch and to celebrate a birthday
google avatar

Steve F.

Yelp
Was very disappointed. Got the avocado toast and dads burrito. The eggs on the toast were cold and toast was hard. The potatoes in the burrito were burnt. Only reason not a one star was for the bar, the bloody Marys were good.

Yelp
This has been on our "to do list" for a while, but you know... Covid. As we were out running some fall errands, we happened to be on Western when the majority stated that they were hungry, the majority being the 5 year old and the hubby. It was Sunday, around 11 am, so brunch or lunch would be perfect. I remembered that Hutch was on this stretch of road and a way we went. Remembering that this is in Nichols, I was a bit concerned that we were not properly dressed; we were in various combinations of t-shirts and jeans. I was relieved to see that the casual crowd was mixed in with those in more formal/church attire. We were quickly seated and given menus. True to the name, the dining area is cozy and warm, dotted with rabbit themed art throughout, like so many hidden Easter Eggs. The service was quick to bring out coffee and water. We took a minute and ordered the following: Kids Breakfast: Scrambled Eggs, Half Belgian Waffle, Side of Fruit & Bacon. My daughter enjoyed this and ate/tried every bit. Eggs Benedict: Mixed Greens, Hollandaise, English Muffin, & Breakfast Potatoes with choice of meat or mushrooms; I selected the Smoked Salmon. The presentation was pretty impressive; the size was odd. It was basically a half order, which made the plate a bit pricey at $18.00. Maybe the "English Muffin" was too literal, as it was one half of the muffin. It was still filling, but just odd. Omelet: Smoked Gouda Pimento Cheese, Bacon, Breakfast Potatoes, Arugula. It looked pretty and was enjoyed. Overall, we enjoyed the meal. I would likely order something else next time and would like to have drinks here soon. Great service. Nice atmosphere. Somewhat family friendly.

David P.

Yelp
Service was excellent and the food was good. The space is small but they use it well. Good place for a business lunch.

Elisabeth B.

Yelp
We had lunch here yesterday. Inside was full, so we took the patio. Moved to a different table within a few minutes, as we weren't dressed for sitting outside, and it was windy. Food wasn't good and the waiter seemed put out with every minor request. Not impressed.
google avatar

Richard C.

Yelp
So upset that I haven't eaten before last night. The food, service and atmosphere were excellent. The charcuterie board is amazing, with a great selection of cheeses, meats and fruits. The burger and fries was perfectly cooked, the watermelon poke bowl was super fresh and the salmon is good, but small. I will be back often. Well done Hutch!

Andy H.

Yelp
I've eaten there twice recently for lunch. I had fish tacos that were really good and a Caesar salad on another occasion. Wanting to go there for dinner soon. Looks like a good menu and plenty of alcohol choices.
google avatar

Yelp
Just love this cute little spot. Food is amazing and fairly priced. The small filet is tender and flavorful and the Alfredo pasta dish is yummy. Love the martinis and wine selection too. Apparently they have brunch too- next stop for us!
google avatar

Jill J.

Yelp
Outstanding service. Lovely atmosphere. Perfect for business lunches. Patio is fantastic. Menu has something for everyone. Always delicious with an amazing selection of hand crafted cocktails, wines and beers. My favorite place!

Amanda W.

Yelp
Don't bother ever trying to order delivery. They constantly cancel the orders. I've tried multiple times, including during non-peak hours.
google avatar

Ray H.

Yelp
This is definitely a go-to place for Sunday brunch. The food selection is excellent...and the service is top notch! It is busy, so make a reservation. They have a nice patio if the weather is decent. We'll be back again!
google avatar

Golia S.

Yelp
The restaurant is located in a nice neighborhood. The patio is great. But there are not a lot in the menu. The food they serve does not really match to the ambience and level of the restaurant ( for instance steak and fries). It would be nicer to have steak and mash potatoes. The service was okay. When our servant came, he did not ask all of us for the drink. The foods did not come at the same time. Overall there are many better restaurants in OKC that you should try first.
google avatar

Tiffany E.

Yelp
Great brunch spot! They offer breakfast & dinner too. Not a ton of variety but enough. Full bar, great wait staff!
google avatar

Genevieve F.

Yelp
Today my friend and I came here for lunch and it was a disappointment. We had both been here for brunch and been extremely pleased so we thought "what cab go wrong?" Apparently a lot. I ordered the tomato bisque and granted it was hood, but everyone has tomato-soup-something. It's become passé. I ordered the ahi tuna appetizer and it was boring. The concept was good, but there was no flavor. At all. My friend ordered the veggie-hash-Special and it was good but according to her it also was bland.
google avatar

Misti F.

Yelp
Brunch at Hutch was super yummy with pancake fritters in lemon curd & strawberries and a bacon Belgium waffle w/fried egg on top. But the most decadent off all were the chocolate donut holes. The pic only shows one left because they were clearly delicious and we forgot to take a pic. You MUST try them though! Service was very good as well!
google avatar

Becky W.

Yelp
I don't ever give one star reviews! EVER! The bar tender was an abysmalin customer service. As the waitress was standing at our table to take our drink order, I asked what beers were on tap. She was unsure of all options. She directed us to the chalk board; however, the black chalk board where the beers were written could not be seen from our table. I walked to the bar and politely asked the bar tender, what do you have on tap? He replied, "beer!" I smiled and said, I realize that but what do you have? He again replied, "BEER!" I responded with, that's ok. I won't order anything. Twice he responded with the same arrogant, inappropriate answer. We left! I've worked in service industry much of my career. Never is it acceptable to justify to a guest "I was just engaging you and humoring you" about menu options as a server is standing at the table to take orders. You can't act like a low-end Dick's Last Resort server if you want to be a high-end restaurant. It's a shame. We were first-time diners at The Hutch. UPDATE: We were contacted by the owner. He offered and promised a different dining experience in the future. As the brilliant Walt Disney once said, "You can design, create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality." We have a decision to make as to whether it's worth our time to go back. Perhaps, I'm a believer in second chances.

Yelp
Came for brunch and had the most delicious best cooked steak, breakfast potatoes and poached eggs I've ever had! Food is perfection. Ambiance is magnificent. Customer service was stellar. My family and I are permanent patrons now.

Yelp
Absolutely loved The Hutch at Nichols Hills Plaza. We came here on a saturday afternoon for brunch. We would always pass by it after half a year of shopping at Trader Joe's! So today was our day of trying it. It was clean inside, the waitress was very kind & attentive. A plus is the bathroom is very clean which is always a bonus. They have indoor and outdoor patio seating. For a shareable, I ordered the pancake fritters. This is a must!! The lemon curd sauce is amazing with the fresh fruit. It's so delicious, light and just a mouthgasm. Great way to get your palette going! For my entree I ordered the egg white frittata. This has smoked salmon, arugula, pesto & tomato very well balanced flavors. Definitely can not go wrong with this! Overall, great experience I will be sure to come back & try out their dinner menu. Well done Hutch!
google avatar

Brittany L.

Yelp
I ordered the $46 steak frites and asked for Medium. Then I proceeded to ask the chefs recommended temperature; which our sever replied Medium Rare. I agreed to have it brought out medium rare. The steak was rare at best. I sent the steak back to have it cooked to "medium rare" and received the photo below. It's always nice to see the eye rolls from the waitress and the chef, it's an open kitchen concept, it was a terrible experience.
google avatar

Jennifer D.

Yelp
I was not really impressed. I did get to meet the owner and he was lovely. We did have the cornbread and that was amazing. Other than that I had an overpriced burger that was very meh. The service was very mediocre as well. It was difficult to get refills and they didn't really come back to check the table.

Yelp
Very nice brunch, with good service. Look forward to returning! More, more, more, more, more or less, less, less, less, characters.
