What an excellent restaurant! I really enjoyed the friendly and kind service they were super accommodating. I was so pleased to find a restaurant that offers grass-fed and grass-finished meat with so many healthy options. I really enjoyed the gluten-free option with the grass-fed burger! I'd highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in search of a very nice atmosphere with high-quality michigan-based food. I had a great experience and I would definitely recommend this eatery to others and I'm sure I will be back very soon!

My wife has visited several times. She said the All you can eat Fish Fry on Friday is phenomenal. We decided to stay local and try the Mother's Day Brunch. Ideal Bite Community did not disappoint. They had a variety great dishes. Good value for the menu. Truly a wonderful Mother's Day experience. Enjoyed by all. Looking forward to the All you can eat Fish Fry!

I went to Kroger to grab some lunch but the place looked gross. Decided to give this place a shot instead. It was good. 100% worth a shot. I had the turkey melt. The turkey was of Good quality, great bread. They didn’t add too much bacon, it was well balanced. And I really enjoyed the avocado. Sandwich was $9, can of Diet Coke was $2

I've never been disappointed by Amy Jean and the rest of the team! Such high quality, fresh ingredients and amazing customer service. They are doing curbside pickup and have additional "take and bakes" during shelter-in-place. Unique menu items and creations, don't miss the sweet potato wedges, apple balsamic quinoa salad, rosemary feta fries, decadent cocoa nibs brownies!

Love this place! Catering was super easy and affordable, and Amy Jean was very responsive and helpful. Food was delicious as always (ham sandwiches, chicken salad on croissants, apple quinoa salad), and pickup was very easy.

We used Ideal Bite to cater our wedding and could not be more pleased with the quality and service provided by Amy Jean and her team. Amy Jean went above and beyond in helping us curate the perfect menu, ensuring we were knowledgeable about the sourcing of the ingredients, and helping us navigate all the details in between. We continue to receive rave reviews on everything from the salmon to the vegetable sides to the slightly addictive desserts. My friend and I were wanting to try this place out for a while, and finally got a chance to get takeout from them. I ordered the fried chicken combo platter with a side of mac & cheese, cole slaw, and a dinner roll. The chicken thighs were juicy and tender on inside, while the batter was very good. It tasted like it was beer battered, and it was not too greasy. Unfortunately, the meat itself didn't have much flavor. The mac & cheese was solid - pasta was a dente, bread crumbs on the top gave a nice texture contrast, and the cheese sauce tasted good. The cole slaw was good, too - it was a pretty light addition to the meal, and the dried cranberries provided a touch of sweetness/tartness to it. The roll was a standard cold dinner roll, nothing to write home about. My friend ordered a Reuben sandwich, which was pretty greasy and messy. He said the corned beef was just okay - nothing extraordinary. I'd be open to coming back and trying other items sometime, but if I'm being completely honest, it wouldn't be my first choice.

At the Ideal Bite tent today at the Farmington Farmers Market. Had Smoked Brisket Chili and Apple Pecan Quinoa salad! The chili was amazingly good with a generous brisket portion. The diversity of texture and taste in the salad with cranberries and feta made for the perfect perfect pairing to the chili on a warm summer's day at the Market.

We ordered lobster rolls for their seafood weekend special and they were delicious. Full of huge chunks of lobster meat and the roll was perfect. We also ordered the fried scallops and they were very tasty. Since everything was carryout, the scallops didn't travel as well as the rolls, but I would not say that it was the fault of the establishment, just something that's best eaten immediately. The one fault is their online ordering system for carryout orders was difficult to use and I wasn't sure if an order was placed or not so I called to confirm instead. I hope they work out the kinks for easier ordering.

Great food in the suburban Detroit metro area. I yelped it up by searching for vegetarian because on biz trip w Indian boss. It's been around a little over a year. Very friendly and attentive staff. Nice selection with local sourcing when possible. The place is new and fresh looking- clean and bright but with a still woodsy-country vibe. Bottoms line; liked it a lot! My boss liked his Black Bean veggie burger. I really like my fish and chips. The chips part could have been slightly better for me because I don't like string cut fries. They have a thicker hand cut fry that you can order a la cart. I'd do that next time. Everything tasted great, came out fast, and was served with a smile. The owner was there and clearly has a passion for the food. So, now I've got a good place to go to near my hotel!

I really want to like this place but it is kind of quirky. $15 for a normal size burger and fries?? I can see paying that in a higher rent area, but not in the Kroger parking lot. Food quality was good, but nothing here really stood out as being a signature item that is better than anywhere else in the area. I give it 4 stars for food quality and 2 stars for value. I hope they do a better job getting the pulse of the local demographic and also develop some standout signature items. I think they would do much better if they take this advice.

Wow! We tried these folks today and had the fish and chips.EXCELLENT! They delivered (with mask and gloves during this quarantine), wore gloves and a mask and placed on our porch. They also have pick-up but we opted for delivery (it was a little more because we are just out of their delivery area, but we were glad to pay the extra not to have to leave the house). I'm sorry I didn't try them sooner and I'm sorry that I didn't get the dessert! They have a nice and varied menu. Give them a try. We'll be ordering again for sure.

I would give this place a 0 if I could. One star is way too generous. We went there with friends and the treatment was awful. The service abismal. First we placed the order over the phone as they tell you to do while sitting at the outdoor table. Several rings and voicemail 3x though we could see at least 4 employees on the inside. We were the only ones sitting outside. Finally they answered the phone and we placed our order. We asked for tea she said they didn't have any. We asked for coffee none of that either Bottled water nope. All they had was pop which I don't drink for health reasons. One of our friends called later to add something to the order and a different person answered. Lo and behold they had tea. We sat for 2 hours waiting only to have the owner come out and say one of the orders was given to someone else and they would make a new one. Duh? Really? No compensation given nothing nada. This place needs to close so a real restaurant that knows how to run an establishment and treat clients can open.

Love this place! Such a unique menu full of high quality food and flavor. Plenty of options for everyone, including vegetarians (like me). And the staff is super nice, too. Pat is very friendly! I prefer to give my business to small family businesses vs chains, and this one works hard to earn your business!

We had our Easter meal from Ideal Bite and it was amazing! They accommodated our request to make one item vegan, and it was so good everyone ate it! The appetizer of artichoke dip was sinful and spicy! It paired so well with the fresh Michigan salad and cod. What a wonderful way to celebrate being together with family! Not cooking and enjoying this delicious food made for a fantastic day! Thank you!

Fantastic! This place has become our personal FAVORITE food spot in the entire metro area during this COVID pandemic. Our favorite meal is: the Pork Belly Sliders (phenomenal - seriously one of the best dishes you can get anywhere), the Red Eye Burger (super tasty and delicious) and the Fish & Chips (they are outstanding) with a side of Rosemary Feta Fries & a slice of Key Lime Pie (WOW)! If you haven't been to this outstanding establishment we would highly encourage you to do so! You're sure to find out why it's our favorite place :-) call 15-20 minutes ahead to place your phone order and call again when you arrive in the parking lot. They will leave your meal outside for pick up on their outside table. Enjoy!

I've been wanting to try this place for a bit and finally did today. It was really good. I had the Sausage BLT Baguette. It was tasty. My only criticism is in regards to how the sausage was sliced. It was sliced lengthwise, which made it hard to eat. If it were cut width wise, the tiny pieces would make eating it easier. Now let's talk about the rosemary feta fries, shall we? Yes we freaking shall. Holy moly bejesus lawdy are these yummy. Just shut your face, order them, and eat them. I couldn't resist getting something I saw in the dessert case. It was called a carmellita (I think). I have no idea what all was in it. Chocolate, caramel, oats and who knows. Man was it dirty good. I'll definitely hit this place again.

What a hidden joint! Their is so many delicious food items(even for somewhat pick t eaters) and they are all so fresh and yummy. I have tried so much and have yet to be disappointed What I've tried: Fries-delicious Chicken tenders-can't go wrong Burger with cheese and bacon-juicy Parmesan chicken sliders- good I only eat the chicken Hotdog- good fresh... the bun is a baguette so too bready I usually eat only half Ceaser and chicken ceaser salad-fresh classic Sandwich with turkey,bacon,cheese( i forget its name...) Grilled cheese- yummy Sweet potato wedge- ok a little soggy Sugar cookie- great frosting As you can tell, I am a regular My mom always gets me this after late night sports practice or school for dinner! Thanks so much for the yummy meals

Do yourself a favor and get their turkey sandwich with avocado, bacon, and tomatoes. It is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had, and it is HUGE. I ate half for lunch and the other half for dinner. I look forward to trying more food from this place!

Came into town/Michigan on a last second Thanksgiving trip -- had nothing to eat as were taking care of a family member in the hospital. Woke up Thanksgiving day with nothing to eat due to everything being closed/covid, etc. Called Amy (owner) from a website post that said orders needed to be in the day before Thanksgiving.....she didn't pick up....but called me back and said she would to the restaurant to see what she had left. Long story short her and her husband whipped up a feast for us on Thanksgiving Day. Her placed was closed and she did that for us. The food...was excellent.......the service....obviously above and beyond. Thank you so much -- for your hospitality and the wonderful, excellent food. Will be back!!!

Love this place so much but they're always closed for catering these days. We've tried them 3 times this month and every time we call, we get the same message.

I can't stop thinking about the take and bake mushroom ragu with cheesy polenta. Perfect flavor combinations. I could easily eat it everyday! The take and bake pulled pork hash was also amazing. I would recommend trying both asap. You can thank me later.

I work at Beaumont (Botsford) and we order through DoorDash a lot more than we should.. that being said.. this place is the best. I love their Brie and apple sandwich.. soups are great and the fruit side is fantastic..(see pic) My coworkers have always been happy with their orders too. It's a doordash thing but I wish desserts were offered.

This place is perfect! My boyfriend and I stopped in there a couple weeks ago for lunch. It was not busy at all, which made me a bit nervous, but was still willing to give it a try and I am so happy we did! The best way to describe this place is an upscale deli. They have a menu with all of the different sandwiches and salads and other offerings they have. You go to the counter, order and they bring the food to your table. The service was very fast and friendly. The guy behind the counter was telling us how there is also a catering business that is ran out of there and they offer "meals to go" in the refrigerator. This is such a great idea. It perfect to pick up another lunch for the week or a dinner for home. The food was very tasty. I had a panini with three different cheeses, avocado, and tomatoes. It was so good! They even offer brunch Sunday 9-3. Everything on the menu is fresh made in house. I will absolutely be coming back here soon!

I just used The Ideal Bite to cater our work summer picnic yesterday, and couldn't wait to get on here to tell everyone how awesome they are! We did the Backyard BBQ option with burgers and chicken and four different salads. Everything was great - but the caprese and fruit salad got the most rave reviews. All of my coworkers kept pulling me aside to ask me where I ordered the food from and to tell me how fantastic it was. In fact, they were still talking about it today. Matt was very flexible with me when I had to update the quantity a few times. He and his associate were very helpful and did a great job. The presentation was nice, the price was right and the food was wonderful. I will absolutely use them again in the future!!

Had carryout from here last night for the first time. Everything we ordered was absolutely AMAZING!! It was some of the best food I have had for a long time! We will be coming back very often for carry outs on nights we don't have time to cook dinner.

I like this place. The staff has always been a pleasure, and the food is good. Though I must say, portions are small. Perhaps I'm just greedy and cheap. This 1/3# burger isn't much bigger than a quarter. They should call this a slider. For $8 I would have opt for my usual bean burger for $2 more; it's bigger than this lil thing

When we needed a caterer for a drive-by baby shower for my sister this past weekend, there was no question who we'd call. Every. Single. Person. Raved. about their meal. The awesome owners (locals who live in the community) friendly staff, easy curbside service and truly divine food make this place a go-to for occasions, lunch on the fly or a yummy weeknight dinner. I never know what to order because there's nothing on the menu that isn't the best thing on the menu. Not your average restaurant- you won't find better flavor anywhere.

Our family enjoyed a beautiful brunch catered by the ideal bite. Everything was a big hit at the meal. Spinach feta quiche was absolutely delicious, the shrimp cocktail was huge & perfectly prepared, loved Matt's house smoked corned beef hash & the artichoke dip made for a great appetizer before dinner. I am so thankful that we have a local family owned restaurant close by to get delicious scratch made meals when I've had a busy week & need a break from cooking.

My first visit to The Ideal Bite Community Kitchen and I was very impressed. The chicken soup was thick and satisfying with rice noodles instead of the regular thin ones usually found in chicken noodle soup, and big chunks of tasty chicken. I had the Roasted Corn and Avocado Garden Salad which was tasty and very fresh. My friend and I shared a side of the Hand-cut French Fries and there were enough for two more people! They brewed a fresh pot of decaf especially for me and the staff were all warm and welcoming. Highly recommend it - very important to support our local businesses and especially to support places that are using utensils made from corn that won't sit in the landfill for ever. Keep up the good work!

AThe initial atmosphere was good and the staff was accommodating. Unfortunately they were extremely short staffed. Because of this most of our table off 7 had food that was late and cold. Lemon ricotta pancakes were burnt. They ran out of shrimp and grits. And although the waitstaff was apologetic, they never truly said I'm sorry and did not offer to refund or comp anything. I did substitute the absent grits with assorted pastries because I was not hungry by the time the new grits would be ready. Maybe it's growing pains. On a plus side the watermelon/blueberry smoothie was delicious.

First the food. We ordered the whitefish sandwich, rosemary & feta fries, creamy chicken & noodle soup and small Cesar salad. Although I prefer my fish not fried, it was very very good. Unlike other fried foods this is beer battered. The soup was delicious, more like a stew rather than traditional broth based chicken noodle. The Cesar dressing was best I've had. The fries were fantastic. Although we hesitated to get dessert I'm glad we got a brownie. It was a real chocolate brownie, NOT a brown square of cardboard. A steady stream of customers filed in while we were here. The service is exceptional, they actually care about you and if you enjoy the meal. It seems more suited to Birmingham or royal oak than Middlebelt & 11 mile. But the prices are more affordable. Excellent value for the quality. I recommend this very much.

Conveniently located near me at the corner of 11 Mile Rd. & Middlebelt, I eat here a lot! The food is always fresh and delicious, and the service is fast and friendly. The Pulled Pork is to die for! All of their soups are so good, but I especially love the Guinness Black Bean Chili. The Roasted Vegetables with Cous Cous is yummy. My favorite dessert is the Rice Pudding. I especially like the convenience of the Take & Bake selections available in the refrigerated cases for those days when I don't feel like cooking. They have Vegan and Gluten-Free options. Something for everyone!

We really enjoyed our meals here. The food is fresh, inspired and amazing. The restaurant has a great atmosphere to it. The owners and employees really care about their food and their customers. We will be back!

I had chicken and waffles and it was amazing. The women working there who I assume is the owner went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with our meal. We originally were just meeting a friend for lunch but we will try and make it back here from royal oak again for more!

I was there recently. They have several kinds of soups (a Gumbo, a corn chowder, and sometimes a tomato basil) and several kinds of sandwiches. I came for lunch. They can get Busy, so sometimes calling ahead for takeout might be a Better option. They have various side dishes and salads, as mentioned by others, and mixed fruit or pastries for Dessert. To my knowledge, they don't have a separate Dinner menu. I will try out their Sunday Brunch when they start it. It's Great that a restaurant is finally operating in that space again. It was a Diner, an Italian place, and a Big Boy in years past. You can't even get Peasant Food from the Quizmo's anymore because they went under.

Have ordered carry out a few times now. Burgers are great and so are the fries. Love the garlic spread. Salads are pretty good too if like salads. Staff is always friendly and orders are always ready on time.

I just had lunch with coworkers and it was SO delicious. I feel like I'm going to burst now. I had the BBQ pulled pork panini and a side of the mac n cheese. The mac n cheese was by far the best I've ever had. I could not eat it all, but they have these great biodegradable containers for carry out / leftovers. If I ever need catering, I'll be sure to give them a call. I'll also be suggesting this place to my boss for lunch meetings, because she usually goes Panera and I cannot stand Panera. Her reason for Panera is healthier foods; well, this place has healthy and vegetarian options too.

My husband and I used The Ideal Bite to cater our outdoor wedding for 200 people in May '11. We weren't sure what we wanted to do, so we asked Amy Jean to put together some ideas based on the venue and the kinds of people we had coming (we had quite a few people coming in from various places around the country as well as a fairly large Polish contingent in the family. And we didn't want the usual Chicken & Steak combo). When we met, she came with 3 pages of thought starters/ideas! We went with a Stations of Detroit theme that included a "Mexican Town" station, "Corktown" BBQ station and "Hamtramck" Polish station. Then at 10:30p we brought in Coney Dogs and chili fries. It was a HUGE hit, everything tasted amazing (I actually took time to pig out at my own wedding), and people still tell me it was the best food they've had at a wedding! From a dessert standpoint, I splurged and went with the fresh fruit skewers drizzled with chocolate. RIDICULOUS. I was going to cut that off our menu to save money, but after tasting them, caved. I'm glad I did because they flew off the dessert tables, the guests loved them. For table ware, I wanted to use something that looked nice, didn't feel flimsy but was responsible -- ie, not plastic. So they suggested bamboo plates & utensils. It looked very cool and added another point of differentiation to our reception. They also found biodegradable cups for the beer and wine, but I can't remember what they were. OH, and lastly -- it rained on us. And I mean RAINED. We had a tent over the dining area thankfully and the caterers were covered, but they all had to go out in the rain to get between the two areas. That being the case however, not once did anyone of the staff complain about getting wet and they took special care to make sure that when food was put on the tables it didn't look like it just came through a storm. Everything was handled flawlessly, I sincerely didn't have one moment of stress. Her staff was professional, worked their butts off to keep everything looking fresh and beautiful and at the end of the night they cleaned up and you'd never known they were there. I know that's what you'd expect...however, that doesn't mean it's what you'd get. I would 100% recommend this team.

We were invited to attend the practice opening of the restaurant. I had the pork belly sliders and my husband had the parmesan chicken sliders, both were amazing! For sides I got the apple pomegranate quinoa salad and he got the rosemary feta fries, these were amazing as well!! Highly recommend trying it! We will be back for sure!!

Great food! Family friendly environment. My original post about our dinner experience is on the ideal bite catering yelp review. But it was fantastic! We had the red eye burger and the beer battered chicken tenders, they were amazing! Awesome idea to have books for the kiddos too!

I got a Cary-out here. When I called the girl didn't know how long it was going to take. I got there before it was done. I knew it wouldn't be. I thought, hey at least it will be nice and warm. Everything was cold. (I love .4 miles away and I drove). I didn't think that the Parmesan Garlic Chicken sliders was worth the price. TI thought it was worth $5.50. However, they were good. The fries were cold and they were stuck together. I like the Ideal of this place but I can live with not coming back. Once is enough for me.

I was passing by the Ideal Bite Community Kitchen and decided to stop. I've order delivery for years, but never been in person. Upon entering, I could see this was a different sort of restaurant. There was a collection being taken for local school children for winter coats. The name made me curious. When I asked what was meant by the "community kitchen"? It was explained the place was intended as a meeting place for the community, not just a restaurant. There was a ladies group meeting as I visited. The place was truly charming. Tables, chairs and benches made it suitable for family dining. Being on site helped me to see extra items not offered on the delivery menu. My usual orders included various salads and paninis. I discovered an amazing lemon bar. The one on the delivery menu is completely different, okay, but not as good. There was a squash stuffed with wild rice; huge, delicious, and perfect for an autumnal side dish. it would be beautiful as a Thanksgiving side dish. It's a must do sort of place.

Catered my birthday. Amazing food at a reasonable price. If you need catering, Ideal Bite is your best bet.

I was looking for new places to eat in my area and came across this lil place. Overall i really liked it. And small little cafe in a strip mall, The menu is nice, somewhat creative and all the ingredients seem high quality, i had the burger which was good also tried the beer battered chicken strips, good service nice people, lot of sterile type places to eat in that area, so i appreciate a good attempt at making something that can stand out

I had the white fish sandwich for lunch. It was awesome. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. The menu looks amazing, I wanted everything. I will definitely be back. I probably will go for carry out next time. The lady at the register was accommodating but not very friendly. Her words said please come back but her tone and actions put me off a bit. She was a bit condescending. Almost like why are you here, we don't like your kind here tone. The food was good though so I will still make the drive from West Bloomfield to give it another chance at better customer service. That could just be her disposition, old, and dry. I also will recommend it to my vegetarian friends in the area, as the options are great and prices reasonable. All you can eat fish on Friday's for a little under $20 with fries and gourmet slaw.

We used Ideal Bite catering for my dear mothers funeral luncheon today. Amy Jane took our call on Sunday night for a Tuesday 12:00 luncheon. She worked with us to create a great menu that everyone raved about. The scalloped potatoes were such a treat on a cold wintery day. She took on faith that we would pay her and only called the evening after the luncheon to settle up the bill. The Brussels sprout quinoa salad was fantastic! Thank you Amy Jane and I would highly recommend her for catering. She coordinated with the church and took the worry from us so we could concentrate on more important things...oh...I forgot the pecan bars were our favorites.

Food had good flavor. Went for taco buffet and was very disappointed. The food was left out and the serving trays weren't attended to. Everything was cold. Manager came by I was honest with her about not very satisfied. She did try to get it corrected but for my first impression it was over. Thought about getting seconds but they forgot to light the burning gels used to heat the serving trays again. Won't be back. Manager did try to correct situation by giving me a free return meal but I gave it away.

We used Ideal Bite for a graduation party this year. I frequent graduation parties, coming from a large family and have many kids myself. I wanted something different. Something that people would be pumped to eat! We chose a 'Mardi Gras' theme as my son was to attend LSU. She helped me evolve the menu and sent me home with macaroni and cheese (which I hid from my kids and ate all myself)! The party was a major success and EVERYONE asked me where I got the food. Thanks AmyJean and Matt!

My husband and I eat here a few nights a week because we have a repeating evening volunteer commitment nearby. They have a great assortment of healthy options and also some that are a bit more indulgent. I love their homemade soups, especially the "Hungarian mushroom". Their fresh salads are also tasty and feature high quality ingredients. I love the House Feta Salad and I ask them to add chicken to it. They have several sandwiches and burgers on the menu as well. You order at the counter and then they bring your food to you at your table in a few minutes. There is a wonderful friendly community vibe here and the staff is very friendly.

We contacted Amy to cater for a small intimate wedding reception to be held at our house. We did not want the intrusion of service of staff but were keen on the convenience of a restaurant quality cocktail party. After a couple of emails and phone conversations with the very amicable Amy we settled on one of their cocktail menus with a few adjustments to suit the buffet style spread we were after. The food was wonderful, plentiful and presented fantastically. We had quite a few fussy eaters to cater for but as seasoned diners we wanted food with some flair. What arrived was well prepared, high quality ingredients presented on big platters that had something to wow everyone. The guys at Ideal Bite really hit the right balance to impress both myself and my guests. I would happily recommend this catering company to friends and family.

I just left a doctor's appointment and I wanted something to eat that's healthy. I was second in line and I then placed my order for a small feta cheese salad to go. Two customers behind me received their orders before me. I waited patiently and they even ordered hot food. The service was slow and I felt they made me wait longer on purpose because I am Black.When they called my name I said "I thought you forgot about me!" Never the less I will not be back due to the service, unapologetically.....You deserve no stars!

I don't know, maybe it's just me. Stopped in for a late lunch. Everybody seemed to work hard and were very friendly, etc. But the food and environment just weren't that great for the price. I'm kind of hard to please, so maybe your experience will be better. They had some carryout prepared sandwiches and some exotic offerings, so it's clear they're trying to satisfy. If you're in the area of 11 and Middlebelt, give it a try.

Before I eat the meal, I feel like it's overpriced for what is offered. In short, the value is low, although I am sure that they sell out because the food is that good.
