The Iguana is everything and so much more in a fine dining restaurant. It is a tribute to a passionate couple! Up on the hillside through cobblestone roads, it's a fun way to see more of Puerto Vallarta. Absolutely beautiful, old charm, elegance, and the decor is presented flawlessly. Bonus', there are surprises everywhere you pause your eyes. Interesting artwork and pictures preserved painstakingly to tell the story of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. The food here was nothing short of amazing. The service was flawless, and the ambiance was on point! We have tried to get into Iguana the last 3 times , so 3 times charm and I hope together back again soon!

Google
Amazing atmosphere with breathtaking views of Vallarta. The food is just as good. The ceviche is some of the best I’ve had and the home made ice creams are Devine.

Debra Pannel

Google
I really can't begin to describe how amazing this meal was and the service. It was exceptional! I had the rack of lamb encrusted with green plantains, blueberry gujillo sauce, asparagus and jalepeno mashed potatoes absolutely one of the best meals ever! For dessert coconut flan just exceptional.

One highlight of our PV trip was the Iguana restaurant. So beautiful and the food delectable🙌🏽 the musicians were the highlight. Incredibly talented. The views were to die for, however, I’m keeping those pictures for myself. 🤭

Google
What an amazing experience, dining at what used to be Elizabeth Taylor's home in PV. Large indoor dining room, cozy outdoor dining area under the stars with amazing views. Beautiful architecture, the mariachi band was outstanding, food was simply amazing. I just can't say enough about how wonderful this restaurant is. Off the main roads, and there is a small hotel attached which has it's own history.

Google
A definite must go in PV. Amazing setting and thoughtful fine dining level of service. Food is delicious but not overly inventive or modern. More old world fine dining. It was the same menu as last year, a few seasonal rotations or specials would be nice.

Brent Wimpee

Google
Couldn’t get dinner reservations but a group of us had drinks and it was beautiful.

Doron Magen

Google
One of the best restaurants in PV. The restaurant is located in Elizabeth Taylor’s hilltop mansion which is gorgeous, and overlooks the city and ocean. The food is on another level, while it might not be super inventive it’s interesting and so nicely made. The starters were a highlight of the meal. Tying up this great experience were the immaculate service and the live 12 people mariachi band that belted song after song at Broadway level. This place isn’t cheap, but worth every cent.

Yelp
Incredibly romantic restaurant set in a beautiful home that belonged to Elizabeth Taylor. They have live music and the food is wonderful. I come back every year with my partner, it has been become a tradition for us. Staff is super friendly and helpful with the menu priced reasonably. Must go if you are in town!

Yelp
I was surprised at the quality of the food, given the generally high reviews of this restaurant. The ambiance was nice: there was a beautiful view of the city, a nice courtyard, well dressed wait staff and patrons, and an overall nice vibe The service was fine: nothing much to mention about it The food was not very good at all: We had the squash blossoms as an appetizer, which was battered stuffed squash blossoms over a chunk of deep fried cheese and sauce. I found the batter too heavy, the stuffing uninspiring, the cheese a strange choice to the plate, and the sauces mediocre. Next we had the salads, and I thought they were actually well done, but the fact that the salad that was the best thing about the entire meal is not a good thing. For main courses, we had the fish and the pork shank. The fish was overcooked and dry, and came with a pineapple sauce that really didn't go with it at all. The vegetables were bland, and had just been boiled or steamed, and the mashed potatoes lacked butter and cream, and were just really not good. The pork shank was nice, but if you have ever cooked pork shank, you know you just stick it in a pot and leave it for four hours, so there's not much to it. The sauce was not very flavourful. Finally, for dessert we had the mille feuille, which was not a real mille feuille, but some guava cream (which was grainy) in between phyllo dough. The total price for two of us, including two bottles of still water and no other drinks, and including tax and tip, was around 3000 pesos, or $150 USD. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
I've eaten here probably way too many times. It's hard not to come back for the ambiance, great service, delicious wine, food & cocktails. It is higher priced but the quality of food stays relatively consistent. As does the wine. Try the short rib and indulge in some wines from Mexico. Neither will disappoint. I see a lot of people complain about the dress code. They really aren't asking you to show up in a tux. They just want to keep the standards high like Elizabeth Taylor would appreciate ;)

Kushal D.

Yelp
To preface this: we didn't eat a full meal here. The atmosphere and the view are both to die for! We ordered drinks and apps, the drinks were amazing! The key lime martini might be the best drink I've ever had. The chipotle black bean soup and squash blossoms were delicious apps. And omg the warm bread was amazing! The service was fine but not as great as some of the other spots we went to in the area, and there were very few vegetarian options (none for entrees).

Mike C.

Yelp
Liz Taylor used to live here. That alone makes it worth a visit. Its a beautiful location with a great view. Make sure you walk the bridge that her and Richard Burton used to use to meet up for trysts. The food can be hit or miss depending on what you order. The Pumpkin Cream Soup was very delicious. My Diablo Shrimp main course was only ok and at $660 pesos overpriced. But then again, everything at this restaurant is overpriced. Its really about the ambience and the space itself. My friends love coming here but honestly i just think its overrated and overpriced. Service is pretty good.

RICHARD J.

Yelp
Table service was excellent and the food was so good I had the pork shank amazing. Ambiance was top shelf view was amazing and the place is just beautiful. I will return every trip.

Rachel M.

Yelp
This is an upscale place with a dress code so make sure you dress appropriately, you will be turned away. Our sever Fermin was kind and attentive without rushing our experience. My friend and I shared the squash blossoms and it was piping hot and tasted amazing. My friend ordered the black bean & poblano soup. She loved it, they also served freshly baked bread. I had the arugula salad with grapefruit, beet, blue cheese and pistachios. Soft and elegant flavor. My friend had the catch of day dish, which ended up being red snapper. It was seasoned and cooked perfectly, delicate yet juicy. I had the rack of lamb, ordered it medium, came more med rare, still was delicious. We both ordered desert hers was the gluten free chocolate cake and mine was the chocolate hazelnut tort. Both to die for. We will be back. Friend mentioned she would visit once a week if she lived down in Puerto vallarta. The ambiance was very fitting as it was previously the mansion of Elizabeth Taylor and rich burton

Yelp
Amazing food, service, ambiance and views. What an experience. Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.

Yelp
Our fancy dining experience for our Puerto Vallarta trip! This is an open-air restaurant located inside the Casa Kimberly (now a hotel) with views of PV and the famous bridge commemorating Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton's sordid affair during the filming of "The Night of the Iguana". Aside from getting charged approximately $26 USD in water (must've been some fancy VOSS water), the food was amazing! What we ordered: -Ceviche -Squash blossoms - the poblano chile sauce was amazing! -Braised octopus - yes, grilled to perfection! -Salmon entree -Goat cheese mousse - never tried before, but it worked! -Chocolate cake -Coconut flan Honestly, it was all delicious! Notable favorites: the ceviche, squash blossoms, braised octopus, and the goat cheese mousse. Our wallets were much lighter by the end of it, but our bellies were full! If you are planning a trip to Puerto Vallarta and looking for a fine dining experience, highly recommend making reservations here ahead of time. Lovely ambiance, amazing food, and definitely an unforgettable fine dining experience!

Yelp
If you want to see how the other half lives, or at least how Elizabeth Taylor lived, then you must make dinner reservations at The Iguana Restaurant & Tequila Bar at Casa Kimberly. Up a steep hill in Puerto Vallarta Centro, the glamorous, open air restaurant has stunning panoramic views from the Sierra Madre Mountains to Banderas Bay. A bronzed Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor greet you at the entrance, and huge crystal chandeliers hang from the ceiling. Elizabeth Taylor's stunning portrait pulls you to the top of the stairs. Those violet eyes! The interior courtyard displays posters of several of her celebrated movies. As we were among the first guests to arrive, the maître d' allowed us to choose our table. We selected the outside terrace (he even had them rearranged from 6-seats to 4-square). Service was five-stars excellence throughout our meal. Our dinner began with cocktails. One friend enjoyed his Manzana Green Apple Martini. Two of us loved The Iguana - Don Julio Blanco Tequila Martini. The Indigo Eyes California Pinot Noir Reserve was well balanced. The Ceviche appetizer was just as excellent as the first time I dined here. Scallops, octopus and shrimp marinated in a habanero vinaigrette looked as fantastic as it was fresh and tasty. The Braised Octopus was perfectly accompanied by sun-dried mixed peppers, serranos and agave honey. This was the second time I had the seasonal Pumpkin Cream Soup and it was as delicious as I remembered, with seared shrimp. This time I chose the Costillar, beef short ribs. Glazed with hibiscus and jalapeño over a sweet potato purée, the entrée was delicious and hearty. I could barely finish. My friend said his Fish Fillet with Pineapple Sauce was excellent. For dessert the Chocolate Cake was very good, but the Vanilla Penne Cote was divine. This is one of a few PV restaurants that is guaranteed to impress my tourist friends from the US. I sure am impressed, and will definitely be back!

Yelp
Middle of nowhere, and if it goes bad. You're stuck. It's sad that the hostess at the front of this place is not embarrassed at all about capitalizing on a just okay movie from 60 years ago. It's like she saw parodies of crappy maîtres d'hôtel on cable TV and missed the absurdity. No honey, you don't get to act like Steve Rubel at Studio 54 because Liz Taylor lived near there once. During the Kennedy administration. Learn how to be elegant and graceful. This place has the class of a Ripley's Believe It or Not. When two men in their 50's wearing Italian suits in Puerto Vallarta (which NOBODY does) approach you and you say you are full, invite them to take a look around and apologize for the inconvenience. This is basic stuff. Based on other reviews here, one can already tell that nobody there knows how to foster a reputation. Management should look into the boorishness of the front of house at this joint before word gets out that you're faking it.

Anthony P.

Yelp
I don't think I've had such a refreshing and tasty drink as their Mezcaltini. Still think about that drink. The food is inventive and tasty - think of modern take of traditional Mexican food. And it comes with one of the best views in Puerto Vallarta.

Kimberly T.

Yelp
Food: 5/5 - Short ribs: a must-have!!! It was tremendously tender. The meat, rich sauce and sweet potato purée paired beautifully together. If you don't like sweet things, I possibly wouldn't recommend it because the sauce is slightly on the sweet side. - Salmon: also a must-have!! I have no critiques about this dish because it was truly cooked to perfection. - Octopus: tender, soft, also really great but it wasn't my favorite dish. - Complimentary fresh bread: it actually came out warm which was nice! Ambiance & Service: 5/5. Fast, friendly. Such a romantic place with an incredible view of Zona Romantica for a dinner with friends or date night! I highly suggest booking a reservation in advance.

Anne M.

Yelp
Treated us incredibly well for our anniversary! Outstanding service, beautiful setting, great food. Yes cost is higher than other restaurants here but we had an app, salad, two entrees, a dessert and 4 cocktails for $200 US. That is well below what it would cost at a quality restaurant in the US. Enjoy yourself!

Ronald C.

Yelp
This was an amazing dining experience. The Uber up was met with narrow cobblestone streets up a hill. You should dress appropriately (no sandals or flip flops). We were greeted and confirmed our reservation. Up the stairs, we were greeted by a large Liz Taylor painting. We were seated at the outside terrace w a stunning view before and after sunset. Our two entrees we ordered w our bottle of wine were Wild salmon plate and Poblano Chile in puff pastry. Presentation and food = divine. We came on Friday evening as this is the night the Mariachis play. It was a stunning experience. I really love this place and will come back during my next Puerto Vallarta visit.

Grace S.

Yelp
We were there this evening for a romantic and relaxing dinner which ended up being ALL that and more! We had a quiet table over looking 'the bridge' and watched the sunset as we listened to the best 'mariachi band' we've ever heard (there have been many over the past 45 years) This group had strings, horns and guitars. They play here on Tuesdays and Fridays. Let's get to what we came here for, the food; which was exquisitely prepared! The table was beautifully set but our server was more like a robot and less personable than what is usually 'the norm' here in Puerto Vallarta. (which is why I gave it 4 stars) He was professional, yet not attentive whatsoever. I watched other servers and they seemed more friendly. Upon arriving, he asked us if we had a special occasion and we said yes it's our anniversary but he did absolutely nothing which is not typical for a finer dining establishment. For dinner I had the vegetarian option; Chile Relleno stuffed w. squash flowers and light cheese, encrusted with a delicious puffed pastry and topped with a light and tasty red sauce. This was truly a unique tasting dish and very easy on the palette. The portions were generous, and we felt it was good value for the money. My husband ordered the roasted pork shank and it was 'fall off the bone' tender served on top of a mound of mashed potatoes and topped with a flavorful gravy. We ended the meal with a Mexican coffee and sorbet. It was a 'magical' evening from start to finish and we will be back! The history of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton is a big draw to this casa. Google 'Casa Kimberly' in P.V. to read about the history of how it came to be their hideaway.

Christina S.

Yelp
Such high hopes. Absolutely beautiful, stunning interior, mariachi music, great food. Many of our party of 8 got food poisoning. Not Montezumas or mexico, food poisoning off of the same dish. I also got SCREAMED AT by one of the staff for going on the bridge to take a picture (where many other people were, and she was TAKING a picture for someone). She said no one was allowed to be there, even though there was no signage. Made us sick, unprofessional, ruined the experience.

James M.

Yelp
This is with out a doubt the most beautiful restaurant I have ever been. the views of Puerto Vallarta are incredible. The history behind this place, being Elizabeth Taylor home and Richard Burton house across the street with a bridge was great. The service was amazing. I never waited for anything and the food out of this world. This is our new favorite place.

Adriana R.

Yelp
We had an incredible dinner experience at The Iguana. Casa Kimberly is just breathtaking! So much history and meaning behind this restaurant. We had the pork shank, ceviche, and fish filet. The food was delicious, the service was incredible, the mariachi band is very good. Thank you to our waiter Fermin for taking great care of us

Horacio C.

Yelp
Let's start by saying this place is so beautiful the locations and views are extraordinary. The view from every angle wow. we did the sunset and it looked so beautiful. The food was so amazing. The coconut margarita I recommend it 100%. the service was so awesome and staff so friendly.

Brett D.

Yelp
If you are looking for a fancy, classic dining experience in PV you will find it here! The Iquana is an open-air restaurant located inside the Casa Kimberly, a boutique hotel and is known as the former homes of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton from "The Night of the Iguana". They have a great mariachi band that often plays for diners. The food is all great- I would recommend trying the squash blossoms! The soup is very good and often doubles as a sauce for their entrees. The service is what you would expect from an upscale restaurant. Very formal and attentive. Come for the views, stay for the food, and be sure to save room for dessert!

Guy K.

Yelp
In A Nutshell: -The Iguana Restaurant located inside Casa Kimberly hotel (where Elizabeth Taylor & Richard Burton) shared their love is a very nice, romantic restaurant. -It's open-air seating w/ beautiful views of Banderas Bay. -You are also located in the heart of PV. -To get here you're cab driver will navigate some tight streets, but the area is very quiet & relaxed. -You'll see a small bridge crossing the narrow street connecting the two former homes. -The service is top-notch. -The food choices are very good too, we opted for the octopus (you must eat octopus in PV, it's some of the best tasting in the world), salad, short rib entree & a hibiscus gelato. Overall, this is a very good restaurant you need to check out if you visit PV. Don't forget to make a reservation!

Eric G.

Yelp
This place is absolutely breathtaking with an incredible viewing of the city and just see a store at landmark made my experience that much more unforgettable. Food was delicious. I enjoyed the short rib which was paired with a sweet potato purée, and a Demi glaze along with several different martinis. Our server was phenomenal and super tenant. This place really outdid itself

Dorothy S.

Yelp
Eating at The Iguana was a fine dining experience. The venue is stunning! I just kept looking around as it was truly breathtaking- from the fountain in the courtyard, to the chandeliers, to the crown moulding. The service was great- the waiter was very attentive. He recommended the mango or cucumber-lime margarita. I got the latter and it did not disappoint! For the appetizer I got the Stuffed Squash Blossoms- they were filled with ricotta cheese, and served on pieces of fried and breaded panela cheese. Mmmmm! For the main course I got the crab tacos- also very good. I didn't think I had room for dessert, but I ordered the Chocolate Tort- it's made with caramelized hazelnuts and has blueberries on the side. I savored every.single.bite. If you're looking to treat yourself to a beautiful night out with what I call white-glove service, this is the place!

James T.

Yelp
So, be warned. The place does NOT have a bar, or at least not one that can be visited without a reservation, apparently. I'm arguably well-travelled, and this was a new and unpleasant experience, being turned away from a bar, and quite rudely at that, especially given the difficulty inherent in traveling to the property. Here's my suggestion - go straight to Cafe des Artistes, skipping Casa Kimberly entirely. Gorgeous, friendly, delicious and no 25-year-old refusing your money.

Randy B.

Yelp
The romance and history of Elizabeth Taylor's home is what drew my attention, the food and views having me wanting to me to return. I started with a Lemon Drop and and the delicious squash blossoms. I loved the poblano Chile sauce! My main course was the Chile relleno, it did not disappoint! It followed the squash blossom beautifully. This was a very memorable experience for my 30th birthday dinner

Roldan S.

Yelp
Let's start with the environment is awesome , the place is extremely nice decorated and had soft nice music. Service was insane (thanks Fermin) he was an amazing server . Food was great , best restaurant that I've visited here. Would so reminded this restaurant for any celebration or just for something different .

Wayne B.

Yelp
You just HAVE to go! It's top notch! Excellent service, everything cooked to perfection and the setting is spectacular. Terrace and open air dining at its finest. We were there for the sunset (of course). We had squash blossoms for appetizers, then fish as well as the roasted pork shank. For dessert, chocolate cake, super delicious ice cream and a tequila, hazelnut sauce over it all. Yummmmmmm!! They've got an excellent wine list, cocktails and....top shelf tequilas. Hey, we're in Mexico - you gotta have tequila! Wonderful, friendly and attentive service. We were made to feel as though we could stay as long as we wanted. And, it's not as expensive as one might imagine. Excellent prices for such a nice, fine dining experience!

Tammy E.

Yelp
Outstanding overall experience - from the time you enter you can't help but feel transported to the Mediterranean (despite being nowhere near there!) My critique of this restaurant is that the table they sat the four of us at was just too small and the plates were way too large. We had a reservation and they put us in a mediocre tiny table in the middle of the dining room. About ten minutes later a beachwear wearing trio came in and were seated at the large table by the window/open area. I was annoyed because the person who seated us should have been aware that four people cannot possibly be seated at the tiny square tables on the dining room floor. The other weird thing here was the BBQ sauce on the mahi mahi catch of the day. The rest of the food was decent and the service was otherwise good. For the prices I probably wouldn't make it a habit of coming here often but it's definitely an experience to try once when in town.

Tricia M.

Yelp
Beautiful place for a sit down meal! The Iguana staff were wonderful and provided great service and recommendations. We got one of the best seats in the house along the railing so we got to watch the sunset. Lovely cocktails and we both enjoyed the Iguana Salad. Would gladly come back here again.

Diana B.

Yelp
The home of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton is now beautifully transformed into an elegant restaurant with a sense of you to die for. As you enter your greeted by a 4' x 4' or more painting of Elizabeth Taylor's face, but I noticed that her eyes are a little more blue than violet. But the painting is spectacular as she was a beautiful woman. Everything is first class, from the initialed plates to the heaviest linen napkins I've had it in a restaurant. They were lovely Reed and I started with a Manhattan and if you look in the picture the little orange peel was artfully designed, and my Prosecco was wonderful. Most of the salads and appetizers looked a little heavy to add to a dinner so for once we didn't have a salad or an appetizer, but just ordered our own separate entrees. Most nights we share as it is way too much food for either of us. Reed ordered short ribs served over butter nut squash and I ordered the salmon,. Both were delicious, but my favorite part of the entire evening was the dessert we selected. It was a chocolate tart that was perfectly prepared with a meringue topping and it was beautifully decorated. The service was impeccable and the evening was divine! Be sure to go there if you're in Puerto Vallarta

Larry D.

Yelp
Extremely unique place- read the history of it if you have time. Excellent views. We had top-notch service. Enjoyed the squash blossoms and the arugula salad. Pork shank was tender and flavorful. Sea bass (fresh catch) was a nice portion and cooked to perfection.

Ricardo B.

Yelp
The food was great, the atmosphere and ambiance was great, the staff was friendly and attentive. Just thought it was a little pricey. I say that because the day before I went to another high end restaurant and their food was just as fantastic and delicious but 3/4 of the price. I know it's because of the experience or being in Elizabeth Taylor's home, so yeah I did enjoy it and will forever be able to say "I ate at Liz Taylor's and Richard Burton's house. I lived the experience and once was enough. There's a lot of other restaurants that are just as good if not better.

Nancy M.

Yelp
If I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would! Wow...it's one amazing place to dine. Elegant, breathtaking views, service is top notch, food was absolutely delicious. We were captivated and enjoyed our time here...a special restaurant. The live music was such a treat! We dined on salads, octopus, short ribs, fish and the pork shank! Flavors were incredible-a memorable meal and a special night for us. Thank you for making my daughters birthday celebration a lovely night.

Matt G.

Yelp
Very inflexible dress code, we were dressed very appropriately for a nice tropical restaurant (Collared shirts and dresses), however after a 30 minute taxi drive for our reservation we were turned away because I was wearing sandals (leather sandals, which were prescription for my foot condition) . Stuffy snobby attitude.

Dennis M.

Yelp
Dinner It's An amazing experience. Historical. Sweeping views. Fantastic service. Hits all the marks!

James H.

Yelp
So we got turned away from The Iguana (Casa Kimberly) because we had sandals on last night. (I had on a pair of Olukai leather sandals on) and we weren't the only ones they did this to when we got there. There was an older lady for her 75 birthday celebration, and they refused her and their entire party in as well because she had some sandals on and the staff claimed they were flip flops. In total, they refused 3 groups in when we tried to check in. Everyone was very nicely dressed. We where there back in December and September having near identical outfit on and had no issues eating there. Needless to say, this will be the last time we will ever go there. Their staff was condescending to everyone, sad to see them take a turn for the worse. Asked to speak with their concierge and manager. Their concierge refused to contact their manager and said these are the now the rules.

Jon M.

Yelp
So I go to this place about 18 times a year. I only ever wear leather open toed shoes. The food is good. The view is exceptional but there's a prick at the front door that just turned me away. One of the best customers literally ate there on Sunday and Tuesday in the same shoes and today I got turned away. I will never set foot in that city restaurant again.

Amanda B.

Yelp
Hit refresh on the reservations page or set up reminders to check but GO to the Iguana. This restaurant is everything you're looking for in simple fine dining in Puerto Vallarta. We had the opportunity to sit on one of the patios during the sunset and enjoyed espresso martinis with delicious food. Very gorgeous and delicious, highly recommend.

Brian H.

Yelp
Very fancy Fine Dining Beautiful setting Awesome service Very high end dining Located in Gringo Gulch Very romantic atmosphere

Ahmad F.

Yelp
Incredible is the only word that comes to mind. What a majestic interior, and great views of the Sierra Madre mountains on one side and the sea on the other. The food was tasty and beautifully presented so we consumed it with zest. Service was excellent.

Michelle H.

Yelp
My all time favorite restaurant in Puerto Vallarta! Been coming here for 3 years bringing new friends and each time it's fantastic! The ambiance. The service. The food. I love this place and will continue to dine here whenever I'm in town.

Chris D.

Yelp
Just wow. This place was so amazing. It's a little off the beaten path but once you get up here it's just so beautiful. The dining area has the best views. From the moment we were greeted to the moment we finished dessert, the service was exceptional. Everyone was friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. From the salad to the filet mignon to the dessert. Every dish was prepared perfectly. The drink and wine list was substantial and the drinks were tasty as well. Super romantic spot for a date night or ideal to celebrate a special occasion with loved ones. Will definitely be back to Iguana and Casa Kimberly. Best meal of our trip!

Phillip A.

Yelp
Wonderful experience! Been 2 times and going again! Wonderful food, Service , Music Makes you feel like heaven!

Mary D.

Yelp
Lovely, romantic, and charming are the words that come to mind when asked about The Iguana. As a movie buff, it was cool to dine in Liz Taylor's home:) the octopus was by far the most tender I've tasted.. it must have been massaged for at-least an hour! Drinks, service, BREAD, and the sunset view were highlights of our PV TRIP!

Carolyn B.

Yelp
OMG what an amazing place. The atmosphere, the multiple foodgasms and more. The soups were awesome and the iguana salad was delicious. Just come here. Just do it. I rarely rave about a place. I love it!!

Jimmy K.

Yelp
What a fantastic restaurant! The view is spectacular up in the hills. We had a table close to the window with a perfect view of the sunset. It is an open air restaurant so the breeze was nice and we felt safe. The menu has a variety of options to pick from. The staff were friendly and courteous. My wife ordered the sea bass and I ordered the diablo shrimp. Both had excellent flavor. They even gave us a complimentary dessert for our anniversary. I would recommend!

ChechiChula M.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant, interesting history, and great service. Loved the ambiance and all the lovely photo ops. The food however, at least my dish was flavorless-- the camarones a la diabla. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food. Overall worth the experience.

James S.

Yelp
Gorgeous, historic, and so delicious. It's a special occasion type of place - what with the palatial setting, and amazing views. And don't forget the excellent service and delicious food. It happened to be a rather quiet night, except for the massive rain that had been sweeping the area. Hurricane warnings and everything. But the staff at The Iguana was fully prepared to make a night of it, come rain or shine. The cocktails are heavenly, and there is of course, wine, too. You cannot go wrong - just determine what sounds good and go for it. The Menu is bilingual, and language is not a problem if you really only habla ingles. We had a few apps and smaller dishes and loved going this route. There was a sort of deconstructed ceviche with small hunks of shrimp and octopus nestled atop corn tortilla, mixed with jicama and more. So good. Also, a salad featuring a couple lettuces, green apple, goat cheese, some seasoned nuts and more. Again, delicious and not overpowering. Lastly we split the Diablo Shrimp. Definitely a standout dish. Served with rich, in a diablo sauce with a black bean and pineapple salad. Oooh, yum. Desserts are fantastic too. Can only speak to a flourless chocolate cake which may sound a little uneventful, but it is really delicious. Served with some nuts and berries, it looks beautiful, and is a perfect ending. Take a little time and walk around. It's a magical location with an amazing story behind it.
