Lately, Due to the Covid19 Pandemic,I've been so miserable not being able to travel and this has been the longest not traveling, so I've been doing more staycations, just to clear my mind and also to spend time with my family. When I saw Imperial Hawaii Resort popped up during my search on Interval International ( a time share exchange) during the Thanksgiving weekend which was perfect, it was a short work week and also my son's B-day. After checking out the photo & reviews, I booked my staycation. I'll give up my week at Ko'olina, never know til you give it a try. I always exchange my week for Ko'olina but this time we will check out Imperial.
When doing a time share exchange,Do not compare Imperial Hawaii Resort to Marriott Ko'olina, staying at Imperial is very different but main thing my family I had a great time and we had great relaxing much needed staycation.
Important Notes, It is VALET Parking only here, parking is $20. per day or $100. for the week. We stayed for a full week so I opt for weekly parking rate of $100. Although I don't get charge for parking at Ko'olina, I hate having to pay for parking here. I had to double check on room taxes and if I had to pay any additional fees for staying here. If you do an exchange via Interval, it is room tax, parking, and tips for valet service.
Regarding Valet parking, I usually don't do Valet but when I forgot to grab my bag in the trunk, I walked with the staff to the car, I can see why this hotel is valet only. The parking spaces are super tiny and limited. Valet staff are on top of it, they are quick, friendly and work hard. They do get busy. The next morning I thought it would be awhile for valet to get my car so I walked over to Starbucks to get my coffee, my car was already ready so the staff had to repark the car again. *note, they are quick so don't try to squeeze in anything like I did. Lol. Please don't block the entrance when dropping off your car, as this is what I did. Can you tell I am a newbie when it comes to valet.
I was happy to be on the 26th floor with partial ocean view, We got the Banyan room which is one bedroom, one bath, doesn't come with a kitchen but just the basic fridge, microwave, coffee maker. The room is on tiny side but this is Waikiki. It was just right for my family of 4. This is my first time having a room with a Murphy bed, pretty cool for my 19 year old son. We all slept comfortably! No housekeeping services during our stay but the front desk staff mentioned to call the front desk, We needed extra trash bags, tissue.
The pool is on the roof top, we were too busy during our stay we didn't get to utilize the pool, jacuzzi ,sauna, or work out room. We enjoyed hanging out on the 27th floor's owners lounge. The ocean view is Amazing! There is a pool table which my family enjoyed. We also enjoyed using the tables to enjoy our meals.
When taking the elevator, take the end one, you can get a nice view of Waikiki going to the your room.
What I love about Imperial, LOCATION. Its very close to the beach but we never made it, we walked all over to our destination and it was so convenient. I love Denny's, ABC store, and Starbucks was so close by. Those are the 3 stops I frequented most during my stay.
Overall, I have to admit that my kids and my husband enjoyed our stay. We had a nice stay, relaxing and enjoying the tourist life. I do TRULY love staycations, until we can travel again. The question is would we come back again, YES.! My husband said he doesn't mind staying at Imperial again. Ok, let me check my Interval account to see if Imperial is available. Lets do it!
