Food was absolutely amazing!!!! The shrimp dumpling dim sum was to beg for 🥢 gosh it was really amazing and authentic! Upon entering the place was packed and the host said we may not be able to be seated at 8pm (closing at 10pm), she checked with the owner and he said we would be able to be seated. The server was all smiles and brought our food over with pride and it was rightfully a proud moment! The food didn’t miss!! The owner even came over to greet us and make sure we were enjoying our meal. The portions are large and the dim sum is a bit pricey but not small plates so it’s worth it! My husband is extremely picky and even he said he can’t wait to come back!!! That fried rice tho!!🙌🏼

We came all the from nova and we came to North Carolina for a girls trip and came across this restaurant and it was AMAZING!! Everything was freshly made very generous portions and just all on point. The flavors were just really good! Our server Liz was also the sweetest and had great recommendations! OH! and the pork soup dumplings are a must :) definitely you will not be disappointed!!

We had a wonderful experience at imperial for dim sum. We didn’t realize it was a new location so some of our favorites were sold out but the staff gave us some alternative options that were as delicious. Came about an hour after right opening and we were the only people till around noon. It was low key and even with more people the vibe is calm. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming making the experience enjoyable for all. The kids loved the food and enjoyed having plates special for them the food was full of flavor. The over all location is clean and ascetically pleasing to the eye. We’ll be back again soon.

Went there with friends for weekend lunch. Descent menu offerings. The restaurant is on the second floor. Great service. Dim sum tasted good but pricey. The pace of food serving to the table was comforting. Chongqing Spicy chicken was satisfying, as the taste of the peppercorn was pretty obvious (comparing to some places where it’s only hot pepper). Glad they offered the bone-in option; wing meat tasted better than breast. Fish was Pickled Cabbage in Golden Soup was another good choice - we went with the sea bass option - I wish there were more tofu in it. I can see that the restaurant is still working on its interior design and getting ready for the bar. Hope it would be able to serve more guests and more offerings in the near future. They also have the capacity to host large groups. Parking was somehow difficult. The parking lot in the front was free but super busy especially during meal time.

All the food was delicious! We tried the pork soup dumplings and shrimp dumplings both great. The spicy wontons were very good but quite spicy so watch out. Chicken Lo Mein and Singapore Noodles were awesome! The Dan Dan noodles had an interesting flavor but were super spicy couldn’t eat more than a few bites. If you’re a spice person you will love it.

Google
I ordered a variety of dumplings from their dim sum menu as well as the black bean sauce spare ribs. Best Dim Sum I’ve had in Charlotte. I also got their lobster noodle special. The flavor was there but it was a lot of work for little meat. Lol. As good as the food was, what put them over the top was the exceptional service. All the staff was polite and very friendly. They went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience. I will definitely be going back to try more items on the menu.

Google
This place just opened, and everything we tried was delicious! We had crab and pork soup dumplings which were a burst of flavor. We also tried the spicy wontons which I highly recommend if you like a little spice and a lot of flavor. The most unique thing we tried was their Sticky Rice with Chicken that also has sausage, shiitake mushroom, duck egg yolk, and chicken. Every bite was a different experience with complex flavors. Lastly, we ordered their House fried rice which had everything in it and tasted amazing! They gave us a complementary order of scallion pancakes, and I’m so glad they did! We will definitely be returning and trying new things every time!

Google
Food was very savory, well balanced with salt, and desserts are not too sweet. Decor is modern with lots of white colors balanced with natural woody browns, creating a relaxed while classy atmosphere. Servers are so nice and takes the effort to personally know the people! Would and WILL come back whenever possible!

Yelp
We decided to try Imperial Treasure when we were in the area for haircuts and our stylist highly recommended them. We ordered just one item off the dim sum menu at first, and it was so good we went back for more. We ended up with two orders of veggie mushroom dumplings and pork soup dumplings. The best word to describe the food is "fresh". We all agreed it was delicious and will become a regular choice for dinner. Top the flavor off with very friendly and professional service, and you have a perfect spot for a delicious and healthy meal. A true gem in Ballantyne!!!!

Yelp
I used to live in China and when I returned, I found it really hard to find a Chinese restaurant that was authentic. I came here and it did not disappoint at all! I approve! Delicious! I ordered the Dried Roasted Green Beans (and other things) and it tasted like I was back in China. The servers were great, always coming to make sure we were taken care of! I will be coming back!

Yelp
Outstanding! Went for an early dinner around 6p on a Sunday evening with Ben. We've eaten a lot of Dim Sum from coast to coast, NYC to LA and in between. We've been to the Matthews, NC location for this same restaurant though this location is a bit smaller dining and kitchen. The Ballantyne offers the same great dim sum options though they don't do the carts even on the weekends. It's much easier to get to and closer to Fort Mill. We were immediately greeted and seated and everyone was nice and friendly. The first thing I noticed were all the asian families eating with smiles on their faces. Our server was immediately at our table to present menus, take drink orders and answer questions. They had ALL our favorites: Char Su Bao, She Mai, Har Now and Char Su plus lots of creative dumpling options. We were amazed at the delicious Chicken Fried Rice, possibly the best I've had in this area. It was a great meal, great service though a bit on the pricey side but def a casual upscale experience. We were disappointed for now cart service which is part of the dim sum experience we've always enjoyed, especially if you have a larger group. I did notice they have a couple of smaller rooms with several tables. Some tables had the large 'lazy susan' in the middle so everyone has access to the food when sharing the small plates. We had the Manager and Assistant Manage come by the table to check on us and to clear some plates and answer questions. Highly recommend, free parking and an upstairs location in a densely developed part of Ballantyne.

Yelp
The Restaurant: Ballantyne Shmallantyne! People speak so highly of this area and I must say this restaurant is not meeting the standard for all the hype. We just donated $54 for a not so great meal in a not so clean restaurant. It's 4:45p and the floors need to be swept and the booth chairs need to be cleaned. The Food: We ordered spring rolls and steamed chicken dumplings for appetizers with shrimp fried rice as an entrée. The entrée came first and the server never said a word about the appetizers. She just came back about 10 minutes later with them. The shrimp fried rice has green and red bell peppers in it and just overall not a fresh taste. The chicken dumplings were not bad, but not great. The spring rolls were (not authentic) and tasted like they were pulled from the freezer out of a box and thrown into the grease. Too much of the filler gushy stuff inside rather than real cabbage and real ingredients. The Service: The server is as distracted. I had to raise my head up from the booth so she'd be triggered to check on our appetizers that showed up 10 minutes (after the main entrée). The sweet tea was never refilled when the glass went empty. The server passed us multiple times as we sat for a good 15-20 minutes obviously done eating and waiting for the check. Utensils were down, we kept signaling her to come to the table. At some point we had to raise the volume to get her attention for the check. Every person that left the restaurant was spoken to with "goodbye, thank you." When we left, no one said a word. Only 3 tables being served while we were there. Not crowded at all. Ballantyne, ya'll may need to raise the bar.

Yelp
First time here, got food to-go. Packaging was great. Staff was nice. Sadly, I wasn't impressed with the food, particularly the dumplings. The beef & broccoli was good, pork soup dumpling was very gritty, shrimp dumpling lacked flavor, and the sauce was vinegar overload. Crab Rangoon was good. Probably would only go back if eating there, not to-go.

Yelp
I've been to this location about 3 times already and I love to get my dim sum fix here especially when I am missing New York. Liz is the best server. She is so helpful and attentive especially with our big group. Andrew is so accommodating and welcomed us with open arms. We had the best lunch and felt so taken care of. The food was delcious espciecally after starving at work. Everyone's favorites were the string beans, eggplant, chow fun, and of course the show stopper custard lava buns. We also got the mapo tofu that wasn't too spicy, spare ribs, chicken feet, durian puff, and xiu mai. We got the dan dan noodles last time but it was too Szechuan for me but if you enjoy that cooling numbing spice go for it! If you prefer more like a mild numbing noodles the chow mein is a great option, similar to pad see ew if you're into Thai food. The location is nice, new, and clean. The parking is accessible as it's shared with a ton of other businesses. It's like the epicenter at a smaller scale. We love to eat here and bring family and friends!

Yelp
5/5! Wow! Amazing place. I had only heard about it a few hours before going and so glad I did. Note: This is on the second floor of the Ballantyne Village. The staff were incredibly kind, informative and welcoming. The ambiance was laid back and relaxed. I started off with their hot Green Tea, it was packed with flavor and a perfect start. I first ordered their pork soup dumplings and steamed buns. The soup dumplings were the best I've ever had in Charlotte! They didn't fall apart, had tons of soup and pork in them and were so flavorful! The steamed buns were equally good! Light, fluffy, packed with meat and so good! I decided to skip dessert and ordered something I'd never had before. Duck Dumplings. They were unique, but in the best way possible! Huge amounts of duck mixed with veggies and bursting with flavor. I cannot wait to go back!

Yelp
I arrived about half an hour after opening time. It has a very clean look to it. Each of the tables has some sort of parchment table covering. Very good unique look. I ordered some dim sum namely the pork soup dumplings. Judging from the picture on the menu, I was expecting a decent serving. After all, it would be six dumplings. I also ordered some dessert type dumplings that had a caramel sauce type filling. At any rate, I quickly learned that perhaps the dim sum is not what to order here. A couple who arrived and ordered much later than I were eating what looked to be hotpot within minutes. It took over half an hour for my meal to arrive. Further, the dumplings were quite small. I might come back some day and try something besides the dim sum. Even though the food was delicious, I don't feel the value is there for what you pay and I certainly don't want to wait half an hour for food.

Yelp
This will be a hard review to make. Imperial Treasure is truly a Chinese restaurant. Their menu is masterful. And that makes it hard to figure out just what you want to eat. Very traditional. Asians will love it and USA people will have to go slow, experiment and learn how to order. Dim Sum in the USA is traditionally done on certain days, with wait staff circulating a cart around the room and table patrons choosing what they like. A moving buffet. However, at Imperial Treasure, Dim Sum is ordered fresh from the Dim Sum menu. This takes time as the items are either steamed or fried. Be prepared to wait. Wife and I wanted to try a number of Dim Sum items and were warned, via Yelp! reviewers about this time lag. So we made an initial order of one Dim Sum item, wait person Liz put it in while we perused what else we wanted. A good plan to follow. We ordered the pan-fried Pork Cabbage Dumpling ( $10.95) which was delicious and a good start for beginners. Bottoms were crispy and filling flavorful. Wife was not into dumplings, so ordered Sichuan-Style stir-fried pork ($23.95). Very good, but very spicy and fatty. Wife picked through to reduce the fat pieces. Spice? The key word is Sichuan as that style of cooking is always hotsy-totsy. Ask your wait person about the heat content. I ordered the Rainbow Steamed Dumpling of 10 pieces ($13.95) to sample five types of dumpling: chicken, beef, veggie, pork and pork/shrimp/chives). Another good thing to start with. The dumplings are regularly eaten as one piece put into your mouth. Too hard. Ask for a knife, as I did, cut each dumpling in half and there you are. Regular soy sauce and their light dipping sauce is there for you. Otherwise, there are not other condiments. Everything, esp the sauces, are very salty. That will be your reaction to you meal here. Just the way it is, so be prepared. Tea is served and so is water. They have a bar, but we did not use it. This restaurant is on the second floor of Ballantyne Village, so the stairs and broken escalator are located outside of Eggspectacular and the Blue Taj. The interior is very clean and pleasant, with booths and tables. Wife is not too keen on this place, but I am and will be back to continue experimenting with dishes.

Yelp
First of all we had great service from Taylor who was waiting our table. He was very friendly with good recommendations & was quick to check in if we needed anything. He also let us know that there is a second location in Matthews that he works at; we had no idea! That being said the food was very flavorful & comforting. The portions are large & served family style. For two people an entree, veggie dish & a small bowl of rice is going to be more than enough (you will likely even take some leftovers). I personally enjoyed the fried Chongqing chicken because I need something spicy; pair that with the eggplant & I'm set. We will definitely come back to try their extensive dim sum menu (I believe they serve it all day not just in the morning!) The decor & ambience is simple & modern but clean. I didn't think it looked like much at first but seeing the trees from the ground floor & letting the sunlight in through the large windows really brightened up the atmosphere. They also have balcony seating which is beautiful for a sunny day. Overall, a very solid option for Chinese cuisine for NC standards. We will be back soon!

Yelp
We tried Imperial Treasure the 1st time today and we weren't disappointed. The food is yummy with good portion sizes. We tried dim sum and some lunch specials. Service was excellentspecials. Definitely will be adding this restaurant to my list of favorites!

Yelp
Good Dim Sum! Each dish is prepared at the time of order and we think it was worth the time it took. The scallion pancakes were particularly good along with their shumai, hargow and char siu bao! I liked their sticky rice with chicken and Chinese sausage. We look forward to trying their noodle and other dishes the next time we visit. One thing that would improve the meal would be hot mustard.

Yelp
(5/23/25) So far, so good. The dim sum menu looks great. My wife is already upset about the prices. It's Ballantyne Village ffs. My wife ordered orange beef. I ordered a mess of dumplings. They have a durian pastry that looks intriguing. It really depends if I have any room left. There really isn't any ambience. The dining room is very spartan. Its focus is definitely on the food. The portions of dumplings are huge! They may look small on the menu but they are enormous. We wound up taking a few items home. Oh, and I had chrysanthemum tea to drink. The menu has a lot of very interesting items on it. I'm looking forward to my next visit. The service was excellent.

Yelp
I like the location and I loved my rainbow steamed dumplings but I disliked my entree so much I don't think I could ever go back. I got Szechwan beef - it was sooo chewy - I had to pull off a thick layer of tendon off of so many pieces. It's too bad because the spicy sauce and veggies in the entree were good but I couldn't get past the way the beef was.

Yelp
I've been dying to try this place and it did not disappoint. It's on the second level in the Ballantyne Village (took us a bit to find it). Dumplings were incredible!! Beef chow fun was also great. Can't wait to come back and try other things. The staff were very friendly.

Yelp
Great to have a nice authentic Chinese restaurant in Ballantyne. They have a mix of very traditional items and more Americanized options. The dim sum was great and arrived fresh and hot to the table. For apps had the soup dumplings, fish siu mai, scallion pancake and shrimp sticks. For mains we had the beef and vegetable, lobster pasta and general Tso chicken. Portions were very generous. They do not have their liquor license yet and didn't seem you can BYOB. Our server mentioned that the owner was currently in China getting new finishings for the restaurant ie curtains. Early days for sure but it will only get better. can't wait to go back and try more dishes!

Laurie M.

Yelp
We used to live this place but lately the service and food has gone downhill! Our Char-siu steamed pork buns were hard as a rock, not soft and fluffy, like they were stale. The pan fried beef dumplings looked like tacos as they were not fully sealed. For the price paid, we expected good food. It was marginal. Even though we ordered online for a 7pm pickup, the order was brought out a 7:30. We are not going back!
google avatar

Macie T.

Yelp
Delicious food, definitely will be back here! We ordered the pork buns, Rangoons, pork and crab soup dumplings, and chocolate dumplings. All are a must!

Huy Hoang ..

Yelp
The food is tasteful. Chef cooks very thoroughly with his heart. Excellent. Service is great and very carefully. Very nice place and enjoyed. Excellent.

Lajla D.

Yelp
The vibe is amazing, the dim sum superbly prepared and presented. An amazing experience!!! PS They're on the second floor, so LOOK UP after parking.

Yelp
Great food and ambience. Authentic tasting. Chicken skewers was our favorite, as well as the rainbow dumplings. Food was top quality and everything tasted fresh. Will be going back again soon.

Yelp
Yelp 2 star rating says could've been better. It was alright. We tried several dishes. Not worth returning to.

Deepika P.

Yelp
Been there thrice and never been disappointed. So glad they are in Ballantyne. Tried chicken feet on recommendation and realized it's not our taste but everything else has been fantastic. This is our favorite chinese restaurant in charlotte by far. From what I recall we tried, spicy beef wontons, beef pancake, Szechuan Beef stir fry, Mapo tofu, curry beef, free range chicken, chicken w/ string beans. No complaints.

Steve S.

Yelp
Great food and quick service. The staff went out of their way to accommodate my order!

Luis H.

Yelp
Food: dim sum thawed, heated and presented cold. Not fresh! Awful! 2/10 Service: left much to be desired. Long wait while seeing other tables being taken care of despite arriving after us. 1/10 Ambiance: small location, need more staff. Not recommended. Nothing to do with San Gabriel Valley Chinese food in Los Angeles. Miss them already!
google avatar

Candace C.

Yelp
Went for lunch for the soft opening today and enjoyed everything we ordered. Soup dumplings were very good. Spicy dumplings were just ok, I didn't care for the flavor. Our favorite was the sizzling lo mein, it was very savory and flavorful. The General tso was more like a sweet and sour chicken, so not my thing as I like spice but it was overall good. Looking forward to trying more items!
google avatar

Judy O.

Yelp
Fresh food and good service. What more can you want? Enjoyed everything we tried ranging from dumplings to protein forward entrees. Samples many dim sum varieties. Went on recommendations from friends and server.
google avatar

Jaz S.

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing! Our server Liz was such a vibe, would love to have her as our server every time I come here. It's so clean and welcoming, and again the food is absolutely worth the money. Wide variety of food.

Marie N.

Yelp
Great service, our family of 5 were seated immediately on Easter Sunday. Menu was helpful with photos of the different dim sum options. Food came out quickly and everything was delicious. Restaurant is on the second floor of the ballantyne village, lots of open space, bright and clean. Happy to finally have dim sum on this side of Charlotte.

Benson C.

Yelp
Just came back from San Francisco, dim sum here is comparable to those in SF with authentic flavor and good variety. Taylor the server was very personable and knowledgeable of the menu.
google avatar

Robert Thomas D.

Yelp
OMG!!! Sooo good... an incredible assortment of dim sum and traditional cuisine. Highly recommend.

Tianlong N.

Yelp
Food is insane. The pickled fish was absolutely amazing--super tender with just the right amount of spice and sourness. The broth was rich and flavorful, perfect with rice. Great service and cozy atmosphere too. Will definitely come back!

Meredith Y.

Yelp
Delicious experience on our first visit to Imperial Treasure! Incredible food - from the flavorful dry roasted green beans to the pork soup dumplings and scallion pancake. The serving sizes were even more generous than I expected for dim sum, and the dining area was bright and clean. The manager was personable, and our server was gracious and accommodating, even bringing one of every sauce for our dim sum! Happy to find good dim sum in Charlotte.

Avery S.

Yelp
Some of the most authentic and best Asian food in the Ballentyne area! Andrew the manager was so kind and welcoming and was a pleasure to speak with. He made the whole experience which was already great 10x better!
google avatar

Vicki W.

Yelp
We visited during the soft opening but we're so glad to see them busy. My husband loves dim sum and has also been looking for a place that serves chicken feet. He also ordered the tripe. I tried both for the first time and they were tasty. The variety of the menu is outstanding. It allows you to be adventurous and try new things, but they have familiar stand bys like orange chicken. The server was charming and attentive. Looking around, people were ordering an impressive variety of dishes and there was a lot of smiling and nodding going on. In addition to the tripe and chicken feet, we ordered chicken dumplings, scallion pancakes, chicken and rice wrapped cakes and duck dumplings. It was all so good. The serving of orange chicken was huge, plenty for two. This is a great addition to the Ballantyne area and we wish them much success so my husband can get his chicken feet fix. Lol

Atlai E.

Yelp
Had a great experience! Came with my friends, had the orange chicken and the pork dumplings and were divine! Liz our server was very attentive and super nice definitely would ask for her again!

Lin Z.

Yelp
老板真nice,帮我做了北方人最爱吃的酸辣土豆丝,味道杠杠的 下次来夏洛特吃中餐还会选择这家店 The boss is so nice. He helped me make my favorite sour and spicy shredded potatoes for me. It tastes great. Next time I come to Charlotte for Chinese food, I will choose this restaurant.

E R.

Yelp
The food was amazing, service was excellent, vibe and decor made the experience feel even more authentic. Tylor was the absolute best!

Kelly N.

Yelp
This location is showing some growing pains... food is good but overpriced... 4 adults + 1 child for lunch and the tab was $170. It took a long time for the dim sum dishes to come out (and we were the first ones in the restaurant at 11am). Also, FYI, they aren't serving alcohol yet, which would've been nice to know before we went.

Pamela B.

Yelp
We had the beef fried noodles and shrimp lo mein. Both were delicious! Service was great!
google avatar

Christine P.

Yelp
The dim sum, first off, was fresh, made to order, and so delicious! The ambiance is mellow and minimalist. The service was excellent and CeCe took round after round of dim sum orders from us. The Chinese food being served around us looked amazing as well and excellent portions. We decided we will visit often! We even ordered more to go. :)
google avatar

L W.

Yelp
Delicious and so homemade!! Great dim sum and the service was excellent. I'll be back to try the main dishes.

Lori W.

Yelp
Food was amazing! We had a table full of food. Favorites Were braised duck w/ginger. Beggars ribs. Sizzling beef w/ black pepper and the 9 spice aroma ribs. Service was wonderful. Taylor was our server. So nice and helpful. You won't be disappointed!

Payton R.

Yelp
Delicious dumplings and good atmosphere! Service was good and restaurant was clean. Make sure to order the Black Golden Lava Custard buns for dessert.

Kimber H.

Yelp
The food is excellent and the staff are awesome! We tried several dim sum dishes and were not disappointed! We will definitely be back!

Ofelia R.

Yelp
Wonderful restaurant with excellent dim sum and other choices from different Chinese regions. Ballantyne needed a good authentic Chinese restaurant and it is here at the Imperial Treasure. Service was excellent

Yelp
The Imperial Treasure - BallantyneMy wife and I were excited to try a new Chinese restaurant in Ballantyne. We came here fordinner around 4:00PM on Thursday. In addition to us, there was only one other patronfinishing their meal. We were promptly seated and provided with two oversized, menus withphotos of every dish along with the descriptions in Chinese and English. One two-sidedmenu featured dim sum and the other 10+-page menu listed more traditional dishes, including everything from soups and appetizers to chicken, beef, and seafood entrees. We placed our drink order, they do not serve alcohol, but free refills are offered at no extracharge. We asked for a few minutes to peruse the extensive menu. Our waitress, althoughpleasant, never came back until she noticed we were looking for her. We placed our orders,General Tso's Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken, and asked what type of rice was provided withthe meal. We were told the meal does not come with rice but if we wanted rice, we could buyit as a separate side dish for around $8. We've never encountered this before--no rice servedwith a meal at a Chinese restaurant! We placed our orders without rice. Much to our disappointment, our meals came outseparately, and my wife's meal came out about 5 minutes after mine was served. Theyshould have come out together. The plates were sizable and filled with General Tso's chickenand Kung Pao chicken. We were both pleased with what we ordered and thought the foodwas delicious. When we finished, we waited for quite some time and eventually had to seek out the server, who was on the phone, which added to our disappointment. Another serverasked if we needed to-go boxes and our check. The prices were higher than we expected; for example appetizers $7 - $12, soups $13 - $26(Hot & Sour soup was $13 but we do not know the size), vegetarian options ranged from $15- $20, beef $20 - $36, chicken $16 - $21, pork $18 - $30, seafood $24 - $30, noodles and rice$13 - $18. For this price range cloth napkins should be provided, not the small thin papernapkins they use. Ironically, they do offer a luncheon special from 11:00AM to 3:00PM for$15 - $17, which includes rice, spring roll, and soup. The atmosphere was fine, nothing special but it was clean and they incorporated someChinese décor. Altogether, we'd give the restaurant a C- and we probably won't be returningany time soon. However, we recognize that they may improve with time and hopefully will take reviews seriously. We wish them well!
