Obituary: Texas Barbecue Restaurant Pitmaster John Brotherton Dies | Eater Austin

"Opened in 2011 as a food truck in Pflugerville, Hall of Flame was Brotherton’s first formal venture into selling his smoked meats; that truck closed in 2013 before he moved on to a brick-and-mortar effort." - Nadia Chaudhury

This place is so good! Their food portions are big and delicious, me and my sister ordered things to share and we had to take some to go as well. The staff is super nice and their patio is super chill and cute. Definitely bringing my friends next time I’m craving Indian food 😻

We catered a party with Indian flames. We ordered the butter chicken, paneer pasanda, Hakka noodles, and veg manchurian. Everything was super tasty and got a lot of praises from guests. The food was packaged securely in lidded trays, delivered on time in an insulated box, and the owners also included a complimentary half tray of salad and papad. Very nice gesture. Would highly recommend The Indian Flames for your catering needs - best spot for Indian food in South Austin!

The food was absolutely top tier! Everything was flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and clearly made fresh. As a vegetarian, I’ve always appreciated how Indian cuisine offers so much variety when it comes to vegetarian and vegan options—and this place did not disappoint. The staff member who helped us was super friendly and guided me through the menu. I ended up choosing the buttered tofu with jasmine rice, and my friend and I shared the garlic naan and vegetable momos. Every dish was a solid 10/10. The portions were generous—I could only finish half of my tofu and rice, and the same went for the naan. I enjoyed the rest the next day, and it was just as delicious. I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying more of the veggie options! Plus the atmosphere was so peaceful with other food trucks, greenery, and a bar at the back.

The staff was super friendly and helpful! The food was delicious, my favorites were the samosas and the chicken tikka masala. The weather was perfect to sit outside under the shade of their umbrellas. Instagram: jesse.noname

Amazing authentic Indian food! It’s a food truck, but there’s seating everywhere if you want to dine in. The portions are great sharing sizes too and I would highly recommend this spot if you want an Authentic Indian food experience + you can support a small business!

If you're craving authentic Indian cuisine in Austin, look no further than The Indian Flames. Located in a charming area with plenty of parking options, this spot is a must-visit for food lovers. What makes this place stand out is not only the incredible food but also their ability to accommodate different spice preferences. As someone who doesn’t do spicy food, I was thrilled to see they could tailor the dishes to my liking without sacrificing flavor. For a standout experience, I highly recommend the Rogan Josh paired with the soft, pillowy butter naan – an absolutely perfect combo. Don’t forget to wash it down with a refreshing mango lassi! The flavors are rich, aromatic, and well-balanced. The service was exceptional – the staff was warm, friendly, and attentive, ensuring my dining experience was nothing short of perfect. Whether you're enjoying your meal or exploring the nearby food trucks for dessert, The Indian Flames truly stands out as a top-notch spot for both quality food and outstanding hospitality. I’ll definitely be returning!

Me and my husband went for lunch date , on Friday afternoon , Though temp is 94 F super hot and humid , but this place is so open and in shade , that remained breezy , we ordered amritsari kulcha , garlic naan , chicken tikka , paneer kadahj , samosa chaat , lassi , all items were so good , with balanced oil and spices nothing to complain , as they have parking , a small play structure nearby if kids wanna play , overall nice place to hangout with friends and family !

Amazing place for Indian food. We had lamb biryani and masala dosa. It was perfect! The lamb was tendor and the dosa was also perfect! They service was super good as at the end they gave us some gajar ka halwa to try! And it reminded us of home! Must visit place!
