I love Indian kitchen, but recently there is inconsistency. I really can’t tell if that’s oil on the bottom when I said no oil . I like going here because they usually make it healthier than other Indian restaurants, but For some reason, it's been more oily these past few weeks and not very attentive to special instructions. I am PRETTY sure the cook DOESNT follow it. I feel like they are more consistent only when the owner is there. Other than that , I still do recommend because the owner is very nice and so are the waiters. I'll still give it a few more tries before going down the road to curry kingdom. If you look at my photos, one has oil and one doesn't even though I wrote the same thing. All three photos are different. Also for some reason doordash pick up is more expensive than delivery which does not make sense. With that said, I still believe Indian kitchen has really nice staff and one of the better Indian foods. I just hope there is more consistency.

Another happy discovery in my new neighborhood. I asked a neighbor who grew up in India for her recommendation. Her instant reply was Indian Kitchen. The sophisticated yet simple decor, walls lined with multicolor pillows, is warm and inviting. We were welcomed by Raf, who answered our menu questions and advised us on spice/heat. We started with a creamy and delicious Vegetable Vegan Soup. My friend ordered the Butter Chicken (mild spice) with Paswari Naan. His go-to order is Butter Chicken and this one did not disappoint. I'm a BC newbie and it was love at first taste! The chicken was tender, but I'd be happy with a bowl (vat) of that amazing gravy!! and a pile of naan. I ordered the Lamb Biryani (medium spice) with Garlic Naan. Both of our naans were buttery and soft - and the size of an elephant ear! (Portions overall were generous, easily shared.) My biryani was very good. The lamb was tender, the rice deliciously spiced and the heat was perfect. I've never met bread I couldn't finish, but their giant naan did me in. We were served white rice but neither of us touched it. Finally, a shout out to Raf, our server and guide, who was friendly and attentive and made a terrific meal that much more enjoyable. 11/10 for Indian Kitchen! The comfortable room, reasonably priced delicious food and gracious service make for a most satisfying experience. I'm eager to try their weekday lunch specials, too.

Such wholesome people…. Warm and cozy atmosphere. Taking care of their customers and going above and beyond… they really go the extra mile to make sure authenticity doesn’t get overshadowed by their pride in their food. Highly highly Recommend (and if you’re daring like us get it very hot very spicy. Dungerrrr man)

Saag Paneer is my favorite. This place is so good and well packed for delivery. And spicy means spicy so careful with that. Some of my favorite samosas in the city. Thank you so much.

Hands down, some of the best tasting Indian food I’ve ever had. The service was amazing as well! Tahmid was our server and he was the nicest guy ever and very attentive to us. It’s also in a cool location with plenty to do after eating here.

Everything was on point. Lovely attentive service, calming clean atmosphere, and delicious food. Mango lassi, chicken tikka masala, raita, aloo chana so good. I will up the spice level next time to medium. They advertise a very reasonable lunch special. We're for sure coming back

Just ordered several dishes and we were so disappointed with every single one. Not only did all of these dishes taste bland but I believe that they were made with frozen or canned vegetables. Everything tasted watered down. I couldn't finish my soup. To top it off, we got severe stomach aches afterwards. Stay away!

Every single time I order from this place it's a 10/10 their chicken tikka masala and saag paneer are the best I've ever had! Food always arrives hot and delicious. Highly recommend!

I got takeout and the delivery service was very quick which I appreciated. The paneer and naan were delicious. I especially love the mango lassi. I will definitely be going back and would love to dine in next time.

I've come back twice now, both times for takeout, ordering ahead via the website. The first time was just a few weeks after my original review, and again, I felt like they under spiced my order, despite ordering it at the highest level. Not bad, to be clear-- it was still delicious-- but I was surprised. More recently I ordered from them again, and ordered the same meal at the highest spice level again. ...I guess someone told them that some white boy was talking smack (/light hearted). I certainly felt it this most recent time. Still amazing food, amazing service, and an amazing restaurant. Would 10/10 recommend.

I give them a 1000/10! Best Indian food I've ever had. My boyfriend and I have been going here over 5 years. The food is always so delicious, authentic and consistent . The prices are also reasonable. We usually get the chicken tandoori, chicken tikka masala with some fresh garlic naan bread. My boyfriend really loves the cheesy naan as well. The inside is so relaxing and the service is always friendly. Shout out to Sam for the amazing experience we had there this past weekend. We will back soon!

First off U just have to say I'm thankful and believe in people a little bit. But after watching the sever feed a homeless black woman . My heart just went soft for this spot. But the service and the food The chicken coconut curry and butter Nana delicious. The space is beautiful pillows everywhere love this spot nice for a date.

I was a long-time online order guy, but now that I live closer I've been able to eat at the actual restaurant. Cozy! Very clean and calming to be in. The food is also great. They give you a free cup of veggie soup to start. If I take something home, they re-up the rice. The hostess is lovely, remembers you, and gives good suggestions. I came here to eat dinner and do some work on my computer and it was a vibe.

Super cozy, delicious Indian place! I was nearby and because this place was open after 9:30pm, I decided to stop by and 100% happy that I did! The waitress person and staff members were all nice. I ordered chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, and tandoori chicken. All were big portions, I was surprised. All these were so tasty. I'll come back again!

I'm generously giving it three stars because it is relatively clean and the staff were very nice (even though I clearly didn't like the food and when they asked me why I wasn't eating it, I explained and they agreed, but nothing was offered or corrected). The food doesn't taste like Indian food. It just tastes like garlic. The way the temperature was behaving indicates that it might be microwaved. The dishes came out extremely hot, steaming, too hot to eat and then cooled down very quickly to being cold - exactly like microwaved food with do - mind you it is over 90° outside so it didn't cool off like that because of the weather. The soup tasted like soup packets, and the vegetables were small like they had been rehydrated or maybe they came from frozen bags. Either way the soup did not taste fresh. It tasted like a Knorr packet and there was nothing Indian about it. Just a normal vegetable soup in which they added a ton of garlic. I would give the soup a zero out of 10 and I only had two sips of it. Should have been refunded. The spinach dish dishes were large chopped spinach leaves, NOT Indian style and did not have any Indian flavor at all. It felt like just frozen or even premade food, to which they added garlic. The Aloo Gobi had no curry flavor at all. It only tasted of garlic, and the vegetables were looking and tasting like frozen vegetables from a bag, not freshly restaurant made. The naan was undercooked. And the chutneys had lumps and a lot of watery separation. There wasn't one single thing that was good. I think they either don't have a professional chef or their chef is very lazy. The fact that their motto is "the most authentic Indian food in West Hollywood" when the food does not taste Indian at all, it tastes more Italian if anything, because of the garlic, is quite funny

Good food, big portions and quick service! I came here with a co worker randomly. We were just walking around the city and this place caught our eye as the décor is very fun. I let them know ahead of time we only have an hour and the assured me that is enough time. I am not very familiar with Indian food so I wanted to try the lunch special, I got the Tandoori Thali that comes with rice and nan. It was huge and delicious! The food came out in around 10 minutes and the soup with the lunch special came in 5. The garlic nan which we got on the side was also to die for!! Our waiter was great as well attentive when it came to time. The amount of food we got could easily feed 3 hungry people or 4. I am not good with spice so I asked for my food with mild spice. The only reason I took off one star was because I felt it could have been a little more flavorful even with the mild spice aspect. Overall 4/5 and highly recommend!

Why is this restaurant not busier? High quality food at very reasonable prices. Service is friendly and attentive. The decor is conducive to both a business lunch and an evening date. I particularly enjoy the lunch specials - enough for two meals at less than $20. A true neighborhood gem.

Adding another review from trying some other great items off the menu. The Chana Saag Dinner was absolutely delicious and paired very well with the garlic naan. Not too spicy at all. The Chicken Tikka is influential! Only wish they gave you more pieces of chicken. The Raita is a great pairing for both the Chicken and the Naan.

The BEST Indian food we've had since we moved to the City of Angels! Everything was TOP NOTCH - with the exception of the Saag Paneer. The Spinach had a strange taste - however, the Malai Kafta was impeccable! I would absolutely go back again for their delicious Indian food!!

7 years later, this is still my favorite Indian restaurant. We've been ordering delivery and take-out regularly. It's always flawless. We're obsessed with the tikka masala.

A Yo!!! Have y'all tried the Vegetable Samosa's form The Indian Kitchen?!?! They were super Deelish and came with a Tamarind Sauce and Mint Sauce. They were open super late too like passed 10:30. I ordered 2 and is was only $5. i suggest you check the place out if you want some Bomb Ass Samosas! That's all, Bye! Oh and the Staff was super nice and there is a 2 level parking structure to the Right of the restaurant

For the past year and a half, this is been not only my go-to spot for great Indian food, but also my go-to spot for quick fantastic food in general- my partner and I would order from here every two weeks or so. Around early November, however, something has changed- and not for the better. All the food has completely lost its flavor! The tikka now tastes like sweet ketchup, and a medium to high spice tastes like what used to be mild. The biggest change is in the naan and samosas- the garlic naan is now a plain, flavorless naan with a piece of cold minced garlic sprinkled on it after baking, and the samosas, as far as I can tell, just have no spice at all. Even the rice, which used to have spice in it- I remember occasionally finding a whole clove, even!- now tastes like styrofoam. We waited a month or so before ordering again, and as of early December, I'm sad to say whatever changes were made seem to be permanent. We'll be looking for a new place for Indian food, and will wait a few more months before ordering here again, in hopes whatever is happening in the kitchen works itself out. Here's hoping! We love this place, and hope to become regulars again!!

First off I love the pillows on the walls. Pretty good service, pretty decent prices. Lamb curry does the trick.

I just ordered from "The Indian Kitchen" from Uber Eats. Overall, it was both good and disappointing. I usually play it safe with Uber Eats, but today I was craving Indian food, so I ordered chicken samosas and naan. The chicken samosas were excellent, very big! I'd definitely order them again! However, the naan was bad. The bread was not only bland, it was also extremely soggy. I would say that you receive a generous portion of naan, but what's the point if it doesn't taste good? I've never had bad naan before, so I was quite disappointed. Giving it 3/5 stars because the samosas were great!

Given the gloomy LA weather today, Indian Food sounded like a good idea. The Indian Kitchen's solid reviews and their $45 dinner for two drew me in. I ordered online and picked up my food 45 minutes later. Standouts: The Samosas were excellent and hearty. I loved the Saag Paneer, it wasn't too runny and the flavors were spot on. My boyfriend loved the Tikka Masala, even though I felt it was a tad too sweet. Didn't care for: The naan and rice weren't anything too special, just okay. I also would've liked the Raita to be a tad runnier and not so thick. For $45 you get 2 Samosas, 3 entrees, sides of rice and naan and dessert. It's a great deal and plenty for two people. Service was super friendly and even though they didn't have a parking lot, I was able to snag some street parking around the corner. I would definitely come back to try some other items.

They charge for spice level of the food $0.75 lol ( don't mind paying but would have been nice to know what I was paying for) . Food was ehhh not coming back. Service wasn't that bad . 2 stars only for service.

Came to The Indian Kitchen with my husband and father in law on our lunch break on a recommendation from our friend and we had a great experience. We got the spicy tikka masala and kabobs along with some samosas. The chicken was spiced beautifully. Everything was DELICIOUS. Plus the owner came to our table and we had a really nice conversation. Hope to be back soon :)!

I ordered through Postmates because they were offering a BOGO free deal on a few items, which seemed like such a good deal to pass up. Ordered my usual Indian food go-to's: butter chicken with a side of rice, garlic naan, and mango lassi. I was so disappointed with my order. :( The butter chicken was bland and the meat was dry. The garlic naan was bland as well and seemed like it was straight out of a microwave. Their saving grace was their mango lassi which tasted great (what my one star is for), but they put it in a food container instead of a cup w/ straw... it's like drinking soup? So awkward.

I just tried to place an order. I checked out their website and decided on the dinner for two for $40. Didn't add any extra or special items. When I finished placing my order, the gentleman on the phone tried to charge me $60. When I clarified that I was ordering the right item, dude tried to gaslight me like I was on the wrong website The food may be good, but it's 2022- update your website. That's a 30% difference in price. I looked at the same dinner on the yelp app and it was $49. I'm too hungry to deal with this and I'm going to Taco Bell.

I'm very picky about my Indian food. Anything you order from here will be divine. I usually order takeout and it's just as good. The restaurant is kinda small but has character. I like the Butter Chicken, Coconut curry and the tikka masala.

I forgot I had reviewed this place two years ago and of course I had enjoyed the food! Two years later I'm a vegan and this is my place to go for my Vegetable Brayni and Vegetable Samosas! This place absolutely never disappoints me because they're always consistent and the food is always FRESH! Look at my pictures, the rice , vegetables, everything is perfectly cooked and the samosas are absolutely amazing! I have yet to find an Indian Restaurant that can rival their food! I won't ever cheat on this place again! Thank you for making FRESH FOOD!

I'm so shocked how good this Indian place would be! They don't seem to look like they get busy we stayed about two hours doing peak dinner time and 2 other parties were sat so this is a good find! Especially since they have free parking! The service is great, the boys here are always checking in and refilling drinks. Speaking of drinks! U can bring ur own alcohol inside because they don't sell alcohol. With all this seating u literally can have a party! I might just consider it. Haha I don't think anything we ordered was bad. They give rice complimentary. I have nothing bad to say about these guys! Deff will be back

I have never been to this restaurant, but have it delivered constantly since first eating it a a friend's home. It's so far and above any Indian food I've eaten - even in other cities. It's fresh, perfectly spiced, and delicious! After my first experience, I decided to compared it to my favorite Indian restaurants by ordering exactly what I typically order. Everything was far superior to any restaurant I'd experienced in the past. Overtime, I started trying different dishes and I'm never disappointed.

Ordered delivery from this place and I thought the food was just okay. We ordered the aloo naan, chicken tikka salad and the tikka masala dish bundle. I'd say the aloo naan was probably the best tasting out of the items we ordered. The chicken tikka salad didn't even come with any type of dressing and the tikka masala was a bit too tomato sauce tasting for my likes. The food wasn't bad but I'll probably look to try other places for Indian.

The Indian Kitchen on Santa Monica Bl in West Hollywood is a small restaurant that prepares Halal Indian food. My last review was over 4 years ago and it's time for an update. I've never eaten inside the restaurant because parking is limited in the immediate area. Once I picked up my takeout order, and the cashier/manager was not cordial, lacked civility, so I knew to avoid dealing with him in the future. The Rest of my orders been mostly delivered via an app service. This evening's dinner was via GrubHub and the delivery was on time, the delivery person was pleasant because I made it easy, meeting him at the Maybourne hotel driveway. After zapping every dish in the microwave to kill any potential COVID virus, I plated each dish in a small utility bowl. I can't stand eating from any containers: paper, styrofoam, plastic and plastic utensils, hell no! I want dinner plated in a civilized manner, I enjoy it more. The best Indian foods I have had, had always been in London. I was informed that years ago, the English royals and British elites hired the best chefs from India and moved them to England to serve as their cooks and so that's why the best Indian cuisine is in England. Don't know how much truth there is to that story, but evidence is in the indian cuisine, all so tantric delicious. Since my love affair for indian food in England, I have not really found any restaurant that closely prepared Indian cuisine as good. Some restaurants are excellent at one or a few dishes and others are not close, food is inedible. In my past orders, The Indian Kitchen has prepared some of the best Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Kurma and Saag Paneer. I recalled the flavors and craved it. Kept it consistent and repeat ordered the chicken Kurma, Saag paneer. New order was the Eggplant Burtha, aka Began Burtha at some other places. While thesis eggplant dish was good, it was just ok, missing was that smokey toasted aroma flavor. I was not a fan of raisins in the eggplant dish, didn't care for that sweet surprise. The Saag Paneer is ok, but was not as good as before. This was too watery and bland, really missed the authenticity. Usually if an indian restaurant can't get this dish right, it's an epic fail, and this Saag paneer was not good. The best of the three entrees is the Chicken Kurma. Kurma, aka Korma is a creamy, rich sauce with cashew nut, ginger and other mild spices. The sauce was perfect not watery, and the chicken was tender fresh, not precooked or rubbery hard. Had I know the other dishes would be a flop, I would have just ordered this Kurma. I hate gambling and losing bucks on food, so wasteful. While all these entrees looked appealing only the Chicken Kurma was the absolute star and worthy of my recommendation. Saag Paneer was such a disappointment and I will never repeat order, as with the Eggplant dish. Even the saffron rice was not satisfactory, almost day old rice awful. Looking forward to the end of COVID so I can have amazing indian cuisine in London. My generous 3 star overall, versus a disaster 1-2 star was helped by The 5 star Chicken Kurma dish ALONE is worthy of my recommendation.

We found this spot after hiking, and we stuffed ourselves haha! Overall, the food was pretty good. Some of the dishes could be a bit saltier, but the star of the evening was the Lamb Balti. It was spicy and flavorful. Our server, Tahmid was super cool. Friendly and just down to earth! Would definitely recommend the spot!

Went here for an early dinner food was tasty and decent price got the lamb and chicken also the lamb rice. Got the yogurt dipping thing, the garlic and cheese nan didn't really care for was pretty thin and somewhat dry. Service is good and friendly didn't take long either. I did order a iced tea and I guess it's an Indian version not sure was okay tho overall this place was good quick tasty and friendly not a bad price either 70 for both of us. Also the meat samosa was really good.

I am very happy that my friend suggested to do takeout from here, I used to eat here all the time before Covid and I love sitting up against the pillows in the corner booth to the left, we were in the area at target and decided that we wanted good Indian food so we decided to order from here, so happy that they are still open! This is probably one of Los Angeles is best Indian restaurants and I highly recommend that everybody order and take out from here to support this local business! The food is so savory and delicious!

Ok I don't have photos of the food because honestly it was toooo damn good to stop eating. This is our first order and will not be the last. The naan bread was soooo amazing, light snd fluffy. We ordered pasanda with shrimp. 10/10 Saag aloo with potato 10/10 vegetable biryani rice 10/10 Bhendi Masala 7/10 Naan bread - 10/10 I'm usually too worried to try a new Indian place but I'm so glad we did. This will be our new go to Indian cuisine I ordered everything mild because I just didn't know what to expect flavor and spice wise, it was amazing and got some chili sauce on the side to spice it up if it needed more. Might try it medium spice next time.

The food and the customer service was pretty bad. Save your time and money will not be visiting the restaurant again.

Disappointing experience after ordering food here last night through Grubhub. I've been a long time customer as last night, I decided to try a new curry dish. I was charged $33.40 for a chicken Jalfrazi. This isn't right, the price on the Grubhub/Seamless app in wrong, as it charges you for the cost of a chicken curry, plus the same again. All the others are priced at zero, then the cost is applied against the protein... but for some reason they won't correct it.

Just had Grubhub deliver food from this wonderful establishment near my house. It had to be one of the best Grubhub experiences ever had. Why? Because we got delicious piping hot food in minutes. When you order food from Grubhub you want it to taste delicious, you also want it hot and fast. Hence - perfection. So what did we have? Lamb Biryani - Lovely tender buttery chunks of lamb cooked with rice. I am not typically the biryani fan; however, what we just received was amazing. This is an exceptional choice. Meat Samosa - Perfect. Hot flaky pastry with a flawless seasoned meat filling. Highly recommend to all. Saag Paneer - Perfect spinach with chunks of paneer cheese. The seasoning was spot on. I'm tempted to go back into the kitchen for another serving. If you love Saag Paneer I urge you to order it from these folks. Lime Achar (pickle) - Not very good. However, I'm going to make believe I never ordered this from them so that they can maintain 5 star status with me. I love salty Indian lime pickle with some heat. This was just a different product with an odd taste. Let's assume it never happened. Overall? solid 5 star experience. If you're locked down in quarantine seeking amazing Indian food at good prices look no further.

Amazing customer service, they found a problem with my online order where I paid much more than I should have and instead gave me extra food on top of what I got and personally canceled my entire order on the app. Amazing service, and even better food!!!!!

I decided to try The Indian Kitchen because I purchased a Groupon. Super good deal, and I'm glad I checked it out before my Groupon expired. The server was very friendly and kept my water filled, which required him to return several times. I'm pretty sure it's family run, which is always great to see at any establishment. I was having dinner solo and took most of it to go. Complimentary soup to start off with. My orders started off with the meat samosas (comes with 2 pieces). It was hot and tasty. Had to smother the green sauce all over them...yummy. I had an order of the Garlic Naan, Chicken Tikka Tandoori, and Chicken Tikka Masala. All three items were amazing. The Tandoori came to the table in a super hot skillet. Tender, juicy, and hot. The Masala was my favorite. Had to mix the Masala with my rice. Pure deliciousness in every bite. Parking lot is available to the side of the building. I noticed that they charge, but probably during the day. I'm not sure if validate for parking during the date. I'll be back to check out more of their dishes!
