"The ferry out of the San Francisco docks is right at the entrance to this 31-room Sausalito inn. The clean, modern rooms (most come with working fireplaces and glass decks) are designed with floor-to-ceiling windows to make the most of the panoramic bay views, which beat out all the expected luxury amenities on offer any day. What a wonderful place. This hotel, although pricey, is well worth it. The views from the room are spectacular. We didn’t really want to leave the room just so we could soak up the vista, human and wild life passing by. I’d fully recommend a room with an outside balcony.|Each evening there is a cheese and wine tasting. This can be taken in your room if requested. This is a highlight of the stay.|Breakfast is continental, but the quality of the offerings was at the very highest of standards. Fresh fruit and bakeries plus freshly brewed coffee and teas. This can also be requested for the room. Point to note: the volume of supplies is limited so your favourite cake or croissant may be taken if you have a lie-in.|The rooms and furnishings are top notch. The bed was comfy and there is seating and reading material provided in the room for consumption. The bathrooms are well equipped. There was no noise to affect our stay.|Parking is limited, but it’s all valet and the hotel are very accommodating for both leaving and arrivals throughout the stay. The staff couldn’t be more helpful.|If you are looking for a higher end stay location you can’t go wrong with The Inn Above Tide. Highly recommend.

If you are going to stay in Sausalito this is the place to be. The prices are high because you are paying for the view. And a lovely view it is, Sitting on the balcony and looking over the bay was very peaceful. And even though it is right next to the Sausalito ferries-- that was of no disturbance. The location is truly in the heart of Sausalito.||The breakfast spread was very nice, even though the room where it was located was a bit small for the number of guests. In the afternoon, wine and cheese was served in the same room. We wish that the hotel had more of a common public space, but it was not to be found, so go for the rooms with the balcony. They will gladly serve breakfast or wine to your room.||We had a queen room with a balcony. It was smaller, which was not a problem but the way it was laid out there was no room to open two suitcases, a problem that too many hotels do not think about. The night tables were cluttered with magazines and the minibar items, making it even more difficult to place your items.||The bed was very comfortable and the linens were fine. ||Of note for older folk, it appears that none of the rooms have stall showers--and the tubs were very deep with a ledge next to it--so for those with any mobility issues climbing into and out of the tub to take a shower could be a real issue. It was a climb in for two older but mobile adults. ||The valet parking was very convenient and cars were brought to you immediately. The staff could not have been nicer and exceeded our expectations.

Google
Heard about this place through IG and boy did it deliver! Great service, friendly staff but above all else the stunning view from the bedroom is incredible! We were able to watch the sunset from our room (binoculars included) and a perfect full moon. Breakfast is complimentary which we also enjoyed from our room watching the ferry come and go along with the seals. 10/10 recommend! A hidden gem!

Google
Love this hotel!...You have to reset your expectations here... it is not a full service hotel, but a bit more like a Bed and Breakfast. With simply the best views of the bay, and you are literally over the water...[that is why the prices are higher than comparable nearby places]. The bed was so comfy and the place was spotlessly clean.... Bvulgari products in Bathroom.. We spent two days completely holed up in our room watching whales and sailboats, with the occasional seal raising its head for a look around. Just next door is a great restaurant [Barrel Tavern] and a short walk is Sushi Ran, one of the most well known and regarded sushi places in the San Francisco area. You are also immediately adjacent to a ferry, so you can hop into the city without worrying about your car... Breakfast is fresh fruit and perfect pastries...||The staff is spot on, with special note to Maxamillian and Tommy!||We have stayed here many times, and this last visit we chose the penthouse, which was worth the upgrade... views, views, views... and a side room with gigantic jacuzzi tub looking out over to San Francisco!

We recently stayed at the Inn Above Tide in Sausalito, CA. It was the highlight of our trip. The Inn is beautiful and the staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was fantastic with all the amenities anyone could ask for. The view from our balcony of the Bay and the city was amazing. The sky was so blue and we could watch the birds and harbor seals playing in the water. The breakfast was the best fruit, juice, and pastries that I have ever had. Each fruit (and there were many) was in a separate bowl and not mixed together so you could take only those that you liked. The orange juice was fresh squeezed on-site. The pastries were delicious with a great variety of choices. If you want to feel pampered and have an amazing experience, plan to stay at the Inn. You will be very happy.

Google
What a nice little Gem we found by mistake. Cozy rooms, wonderful staff, amazing views, super convenient location. Don’t let the four star rating fool you, this is a 5 Star hotelito! Amazing continental breakfast and wine&cheese at night including in your rate, and a real newspaper at your door with a lovely ‘what’s on’ note daily. And the staff was genuinely friendly and helpful! Well done!

Google
Our favorite hotel....anywhere. Absolutely beautiful and relaxing with a great breakfast and wine & appetizer service included, brought to your room to enjoy on your balcony handing out over the bay with dolphins, seals and gulls playing within arm's reach. Ohhh and the sunrises, or sunsets, or SF views are spectacular. One or 2 nights equals a week of relaxing anywhere else. Which is good, cause expensive.

Google
Gorgeous views; impeccable service; absolutely lovely/couldn't have been nicer. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and a split of champagne greeted us upon arrival. We asked for Happy Hour wine and cheese plate to be delivered to our room (no extra charge for this) and, of course, they asked if we preferred red or white. We asked for one of each, expecting a glassof each. Rather, we got a bottle of each and were told to drink as much as we wanted and take the rest home. Just a sweet and generous touch.

Yelp
I enjoyed my stay here! Literally a jewel by the Bay! It's located in downtown Sausalito and next door to the ferry so you're literally in walking distance to restaurants and cute little shops, as well as a boat ride into the City. The customer service was good (outside the front desk guy mixing me up with someone else-2x- and greeting me by the wrong name). They offer a complimentary continental breakfast and a "happy hour-wine and cheese" service that can be sent to your room for a small service fee. The rooms were nice and clean but the view is breathtaking! If you love an awesome view, this is the place to stay. I definitely plan to return! The ambiance was awesome

Yelp
Such a romantic place. The staff are very attentive and helpful. The rooms are clean and elegant. I love all the little touches from the binoculars for bird & wildlife watching, the coloring book ( yes even adults enjoy coloring) and the fragrant magnolia flower in the bathroom. I also love the high end soaps and lotion from Bvlgari ( Bulgari ). They offer to bring you breakfast at the time of your choosing for a small I believe 5.00 fee and we also received a bottle of champagne (and a sweet Happy Anniversary note) which we enjoyed by the fireplace. From 5-7 there's cheese and wine available downstairs. They have a great selection of cheeses. The night was a beautiful night with the sounds of the ocean waves. If you're looking for a romantic getaway, this is the place. Located VERY close to The Trident and Scomas restaurant, also a cute ice cream shop and lots of souvenir stores. The ferry is just steps away from the hotel.

Yelp
Gorgeous hotel in the heart of Sausalito! Came here for a night and I'm so glad we came. This was the most beautiful and peaceful location. You can sleep listening to the ocean and birds. The room was exceptionally clean. Staff was very friendly and polite. We also loved the breakfast room service! For parking there is valet at your service. Everything is within walking distance to explore Sausalito. Would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
This was a very peaceful stay for our 8th wedding anniversary! The Inn is pretty hidden in the corner but very accommodating with a pleasant stay. There is a parking lot to the side but we decided to use valet. Our room had the perfect view with a beautiful sunrise in the morning to all the ships, boats and people just kayaking by. Everything was great but the only thing that left me on edge was the fact that on our last night when we let valet park our car, we noticed our car had our passenger window down. We went on a walk and when we were on our way back to the room that's when we noticed it. We didn't use our car since 2pm that day and it was about 8/9pm when we noticed it. Of coarse we notified the front desk right away! Luckily we removed anything valuable out of the car. Besides that...it was such a beautiful place! *pics for reference*

Yelp
This boutique hotel is amazing! Beautiful rooms with stunning views would be enough, but this place has old-school hospitality and customer service. Every person we encountered seemed happy to help: smiling and friendly and prompt valet, check in, room service, housecleaning staff. The wine, fruit and cheese offering at happy hour was delightful. Breakfast is delicious and generous. The complimentary slippers, coloring book (for adult enjoyment more than kids) and the fresh gardenia in a beautiful glass bowl on the vanity were special thoughtful touches. We loved the books on local lore, the binoculars and the sketch map of the skyline. All in all, a wonderful experience. We hope to return soon!

Yelp
The Inn Above Tide is superb in every way. From the stunning views to the attentive staff, this beautiful boutique hotel has it all. The exceptional expanded continental breakfast will happily be brought to your room; no schlepping to the lobby in your pajamas just for a little coffee and breakfast treat! (The same is true for the late-afternoon wine and cheese offerings.) They don't have a full-service restaurant on site but they are more than willing to pick up your dinner order for you. And no review of our recent stay would be complete without special thanks to staff member Darian, who made sure everything was perfect for us. Top to bottom, you won't find a better, more memorable inn for your special occasions.

Yelp
AMAZING service, location, and stay. It was heavenly and we can't wait to go back again!

Yelp
We just got back from our quick getaway staying two nights in a Queen Deluxe Room. What a special place with amazing views and tranquil setting - just what we needed to relax and unplug. Complimentary wine (red or white) and cheese/crackers/fruit delivered to your room (5-7pm) and breakfast in the drawing room (7-10am) with a great selection of pastries, bagels, quiche, hard boiled eggs, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, cheese, and fruits plus fresh squeezed OJ and great coffee, You can also grab a tray and take it back to your room or have it delivered by filling out a card the night before. There is also a mini fridge in the room and although it's filled with items to purchase, there is still a little wiggle room to add in some items we bought to keep cold. The bed was comfortable although a little too soft for me but the shower had great water pressure which helped my sore back. Tub is huge but we skipped on using due to conserving water. Everyone from the front desk, valet, food and room service were so kind and helpful. Looking forward to returning soon!

Yelp
This hotel is our favorite quick getaway from the city. It's very calm and serene with excellent service. Each room has its own unique fantastic view of the bay. They also have this cute complimentary wine and cheese every evening. Breakfasts are also my favorite here. With all the peace you get inside there's also live downtown Sausalito right by the door to go grab dinner, icecream or just walk by the beautiful bay. Totally recommend this place.

Yelp
Our favorite place to stay! Beautiful views! Complimentary breakfast and evening wine and cheese! Can't wait to stay again :)

Yelp
The most special hotel I've ever stayed at! The balcony alone is reason enough to book it. Very accommodating staff, complimentary wine, cheese and breakfast! It was hard for us to leave this hotel because it was so fantastic. We were able to see seals from our hotel balcony

Judith R.

Yelp
Perfect hotel, wonderful location, amazing staff. Delicious breakfast and wine and cheese. It deserves a 1,000 stars

Yelp
Just spent our 20th anniversary here and we were overjoyed with how great the staff made our stay a memorable one! The views from our room were priceless, and the free amenities (wine, charcuterie, continental breakfast) were a spectacular treat! Customer service is above and beyond in all categories! Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Gabrielle S.

Yelp
Such a beautiful little hotel. There's nothing better than waking up with a direct view of the ocean right outside the balcony door. They have a great spread for breakfast in the morning downstairs and cheese and wine for your room in the afternoon. The hotel is located steps away from shops and restaurants. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
I booked here as a surprise getaway for Father's Day. The check-in was flawless, customer service the whole stay was great! The Bayview rooms are perfect sized for a couple. We had a fireplace, Bluetooth stereo connection, spa tub, refrigerator, and a patio with class partitions so you can stare down at the ocean while enjoying the SF skyline views. You have the option of choosing your wine and cheese to be delivered to your room at cocktail hour, or you can go into the gathering room with the other guest. We chose to have it in our rooms in order to get the full experience. Once the sun sets, the wind blows through there off the ocean with no mercy. Smacks ya in the back of the neck, and the forehead. Best time to finally spark up that fireplace! The bed was soft, and comfortable. So comfortable, that we couldn't wake up on time for the continental breakfast hours, and we forgot to put the sign on the door to order breakfast through room service.

Yelp
Amazing boutique Inn on the water with amazing view of Alcatraz and San Francisco. They treat you like royalty and the location is super walking friendly.

Yelp
Absolutely exquisite and so romantic. Stayed here over the long weekend and will definitely be back more often once I permanently relocate up North in a few months. Windows overlooking the water, room is small and quaint and perfect for lounging and intimacy, free wine and cheese every evening from 5-7, complimentary breakfast. We absolutely adored it. Perfect location for anniversaries, romantic getaways or small celebrations. Pricey but worth the cost if you have the means. Already looking forward to coming back!

Yelp
The views are impeccable. We stayed in one of the Queen Deluxe rooms on the third floor this past weekend for my boyfriend's birthday. I will say that room itself looks better online. It is a little older and outdated in person. The rooms are pretty close together and right on top of each other so we were able to see the guests on their patio right below us. TV is small and not a smart TV - but honestly we spent 90% of our time on the patio enjoying the view anyway. The bathroom was clean and they have luxury Bvlgari amenities! Complimentary bottles of water was provided and we were also welcomed with a bottle of champagne in our room. They provided us with a PPE kit that included a mask, hand sanitizer, sanitizing cloths, and gloves. Wine and cheese reception is daily from 5-7pm and you get to pick the time and they will deliver it to your room. We were surprised that they included an entire bottle of wine! Ordering breakfast was also super easy, they give you a menu to circle the time that you want breakfast to be delivered, the number of items you want, and then you just hang it back on your door before midnight. Breakfast was delivered on the dot the next morning with newspaper, which was a nice touch. Fresh squeezed orange juice and the quiche is a must! Although the room itself was a little outdated, the little touches like the amenities and accommodations such as wine, breakfast, and their plushy robes and slippers made our stay very enjoyable. We also enjoyed using the binoculars provided inside the room. Overall, it was a lovely and peaceful stay and located in the heart of downtown so everything was within walking distance. If you are concerned about parking, they do not have valet due to covid at the moment, but they will give you a parking pass to leave on your dashboard so you don't have to pay for parking in the lot.

Yelp
Views of the bay that are unbelievable. Great room. Nice wine and cheese hour. Very romantic

Yelp
Just got back from this beautiful gem. We will be coming back!! We had a 2 night stay (Sat-Sun) for my birthday. They have a gated courtyard that they valet your car for you and the staff was WONDERFUL. We had a thoughtful note with a bottle of rosé wishing me a HBD. That was sweet. EVERY evening, they provide a fruit/cheese/crackers plate WITH YOUR CHOICE of a bottle of white or red--that can be delivered to your room. AND complimentary breakfast, daily, with good quality of choices. The fruit was fresh-- the watermelon and honeydew was my favorite! Their orange juice tasted freshly squeezed. THEIR COFFEE!? THEIR COFFEE, was strong and full bodied. This WINS in my book. Didn't even feel like I needed to go get coffee!!! Did I already say every staff member was extremely kind! The room was pretty. Not huge but the feel was GREAT and with a balcony that over looks the water. There are NO complaints. I hope this review and picture helps your decision. We will be coming back. (Give me a few days to check out my other reviews for where we ate at during our stay!)

Yelp
My parents would come here when I was a kid. I went here when I first got married. I drive by the place now and then. It brings back such great memories.

Yelp
Amazing. Beautiful staff. Super awesome General manager, Mark! Super on it Maintenance director, Joe. I have yet stay here. I've been here so many times though for work and man oh man is this hotel amazing! When I grow up I'm gonna save a lot of money and bring my wife here. Once our little kids become big kids lol. I don't think my kids would be wanted here, they are quite the handful. I've been servicing this hotel for the past 7 years and again they are amazing. All the rooms are awesome and that view. Wow! That's all I have to say about that! In short, if you bring your date, your spouse, your whoever...you are definitely going to get some :)

Yelp
This place is amazing. Always enjoy our time here. Pricey, yes, but you get what you pay for in terms of service and view. Comfy rooms, clean and our Sausalito home away from home.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I had an incredible two nights stay at the Inn above tide . This is a beautifully and conveniently located hotel in Sausalito and is exactly how we had pictured it. Our late check in didn't stop them from providing the finest reception. A bottle of wine with the charcuterie was waiting for us in the room (They have a wine and cheese reception daily from 5-7 pm) . As for the welcoming and service, we have to mention Darian ! He is an excellent guy who cordially greeted and served us and even our guests throughout our stay . He checked in to make sure we had everything we needed and happily gave the best of recommendations in Sausalito for us foodies ( Poggio Trattoria , Spinnaker, Fish and chips of Sausalito ). Also , if you favor music and dance, do check out the " No Name Bar " which offers live Jazz and blues with a casual vibe . And All these were within walking distance. The room was immaculate with the deck right above the water . It had an amazing panoramic view of the bay , bridge , Alcatraz island , the passing boats, kayaks and even swimming sea lions in the the water . A binoculars is provided in the room for a good in depth view . Cozy bed. I've got to say I fell in love with the pillows . You can choose to get breakfast delivered to your room, which we did on both days . This hotel is a Promise of perfect tranquility. Undoubtably recommend it for any couple . You won't be disappointed. We can't wait to be back !

Yelp
We loved it. Our room was a queen deluxe, and we had a small deck right over the water on the second floor. The service was great and a shout out to Darien, who was the valet. He was an example of the great service as he was very nice, informative and represented the rest of the crew. The breakfast buffet was extraordinary, huge variety of quiches and fruits and cheeses, and beautiful, pastries, and coffee, and a selection of teas. The evening wine and cheese tray is a really nice touch. The location is perfect for visiting either north or south and easy access to the city. Will be back next year.

Yelp
Stayed for a weekend 2 Nights (Feb 12-14, 2022), had the "Yoshi Tome's" package (1 night). ($1,180 total) We had the "KING SUPERIOR" room. Pros: Amazing views, Bed is awesome, Bathroom shower was an amazing experience (want one built in my home), fireplace, staff, Breakfast was super good (2 of everything lol), car valet, wine (red or white) with Hors d'oeuvre's each night complimentary, the Bedroom views, fireplace, and everything else. Cons: More crackers in the Hors d'oeuvre's would be nice. The Sushi place is a 10 min walk from hotel (Drive or Uber it if your wearing dress shoes). This place is absolutely amazing. It was expensive but it was actually totally worth it. We stayed inside till about 1pm on Sunday because the room was just that good. Got the "Yoshi Tome's" package deal for fun and it was cool. The Sushi place (Sushi Ran) was amazing, recommend the Crab Salad appetizer and Glazed Miso BlackFish. As you can tell we had a great time. Very happy customer. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
It's a beautiful place. The room was beautiful and comfortable. My omission of the last star is not the hotels fault. All the balconies face the bay and are separated by plants. But everyone sits on the balconies in the morning sun. So some goon on a call without a headset has her conversation on a phone with the speaker loudly as if she's all alone. It ruined it all. When asked to quiet, she was rude. What is it with people now? An $1100 a night room and a goon like that on top of your room stomping around. A real charmer.

Yelp
My boyfriend surprised me with a cute Valentine's Dat get away here at The Inn Above Tide. The room was cute and small but the view we had of the water was truly amazing. Love how big the windows are. Right when we checked in which was seamless and the front desk check in guy was nicely and helpful. Our room was on the top floor. We love there's an extra door before getting into your room. It feels safe for sure. I mean Sausalito is pretty safe area but having an extra door before getting to your room is pretty darn good and we didn't have to worry about outsiders. We love that we can pick our time for some complementary wine and cheese which we didn't know about which was really nice touch. We also got free breakfast in the morning that was delivered to your room. We got to pick what we wanted on the door hanger menu the night before. It was a simple continental breakfast. One thing I was there was is some eggs, bacon or sausage. One negative thing I came across in the morning was I saw a huge dust that was coming down from the drapes. It was ultra dusty that did make me sneeze and eyes watery. It would be great if the room was really dusted out and it seems like the drapes were not. Would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
We were fortunate enough to stay 2 nights here in October 2020, during covid season. We had a 2nd floor room facing the bay and the bridge / SF skyline etc. So gorgeous when we stepped in. Just sleep with the windows open for the view all day & night, can't get enough. Fire place inside and large bath tub. Continental breakfast delivered every morning. Wine & cheese hour every afternoon. Free parking across the hotel in the public lot. I guess it's not free, but included in your room rate. They also provide a PPE welcome kit such as masks in case you need it. We really enjoyed our time here and would recommend this retreat to our family & friends!

Yelp
My family stayed at the Inn Above Tide in September. We stayed for two nights in a suite. We brought our baby who is only a month old. The room was great as was the view from the room! We got breakfast served in the room and wine and cheese daily delivered to the room. This hotel is worth it for its location and views in Sausalito. I've been living in the Bay Area for 6 years and this was my first time to Sausalito. Can't wait to come back! This little Inn is also child/infant friendly!

Beth K.

Yelp
Recently spent 3 days and 2 nights in Sausalito and this hotel was fantastic. Room and view were spectacular. We had a balcony on the water and caught the most beautiful sunrises over Angel Island. The daily breakfast was bountiful and delicious, the nightly wine and cheese tray delivered right to room was and add bonus to the end of our sightseeing days. I highly recommend.

Yelp
As a Bay Area native, unfortunately you forget some of the hidden gems which lie in a stones throw of where we reside. The Inn Above Tide takes you to a place that offers your mind and body the opportunity to rejuvenate and reset. As other patrons have mentioned, once you arrive the true experience of Sausalito begins. The service and hospitality given (not offered) is nothing short of phenomenal! Superior quality, luxurious accommodations with world class scenic views of the city skyline and beyond, The Inn Above Tide is simply untouchable!

Yelp
This review is long overdue. Don't get me wrong this place is beautiful and has an amazing view, but that was it. Service was lacking and staff didn't seem to acknowledge their guests throughout their stay. It sucks because you pay for this luxury experience and they lack hospitality. This hotel isn't cheap either so it was definitely a bummer. They offer complimentary champagne or wine during your stay along with a "cheese board"which was basically a small plate with soggy fruits and hard cheese all wrapped in plastic food wrap. Yes on the wine. Pass on the cheese board. Front desk told us to schedule a time to have our complimentary items delivered to our room, but they never arrived so we had to call the front desk several times. The continental breakfast, however, was amazing. The pastries were so good! Parking is very limited unless you park across the street from the inn.

Andrea H.

Yelp
Never stayed here. Just walked in to get a room. I just couldn't pay the price so late at night. This place is just over the top fabulous! If you are a movie star or on an exorbitant honeymoon, or a very private person with lots of money and needing seclusion and privacy, this boutique hotel with awesome water views is for you. If I won the lottery, this would be on my bucket list. I don't have a photo but what I'm talking about is evident on their website.

Yelp
This place will always be near and dear to my heart as this is where my fiancé proposed to me. The place itself may not look like much but it truly is incredible. The views are amazing and it is so relaxing, day or night. The rooms are cozy and the beds are comfy. The staff here and great and then some, made our stay even more special. Room service was great and morning breakfasts were top notch. Yes it does cost more than the average hotel stay but 100x worth it, especially for a special occasion. Defiantly check this place out and the area it is located is definitely upscale but classy. Lots of cute little shops near by that we enjoyed. I would love the chance to stay here again very soon! Check this place out if you haven't already! You won't regret it!

Yelp
This place is just incredible ! My husband and I came here to relax and it was just amazing ! We reserved a queen deluxe room with our own private deck and had the most outstanding view of the San Francisco Bay and the skyline ! Sunset and sunrise was so beautiful to see .restaurants was walking distance so we never had to drive away . Staff and services was excellent as well . A bottle of wine we're waiting in the room when we arrived since it was also my husband birthday and ofcourse we headed straight to the deck with the wine and enjoyed watching the sailboats passing by they also serve wine , cheese and cracker complimentary in the afternoon and complimentary assorted pastries for breakfast in the morning ! Awesome ! Thank you for this wonderful experience ! We look forward to our next stay here again !!

Yelp
Amazing stay! Great customer service, breakfast was perfect. We enjoyed the wine and cheese they provided each day. The views are spectacular. They also gave us complimentary champagne when we arrived. Definitely coming back again.

Yelp
Amazing hotel. Customer service was excellent. The rooms are small but very comfortable with the bed was amazing. The rooms with the fireplace Offered additional comfort. Pillows were huge and very comfortable. The views from the rooms was spectacular. The only downfall is that they do not have room service or coffee maker in the room did you offer coffee service and tea service to the room but if you wake up really early in the morning like I do you will not have coffee. I would definitely go back.

Yelp
Love love love this inn! We wanted a quick weekend away for our mini moon and boy was this the perfect spot! The highlight is obviously the location. The inn is right on the water so the view from the balcony is breathtaking! Even on a foggy day it's gorgeous. We spent most of our time and meals there. What a treat! Not to mention so many yummy restaurants in walking distance and Lappert's ice cream across the street! The complimentary wine and cheese and breakfast were beautiful touches to top off an amazing experience! Staff was super friendly. 5 stars all the way!!!

Yelp
Wow! What an unforgettable stay. My husband and I stayed here for the first time last night and we were absolutely blown away at the beauty, customer service, and extra touches that were so integrated in our experience. We had a first floor, king room with a balcony, and were literally right above the water. I usually don't like staying on the first floor, but the view was unlike any I've ever seen. We sat on our balcony and just watched the seals, birds, and sailboats float by. The room itself was great - a bottle of champagne was waiting for us when we got there - there were binoculars to take in the view, and we really appreciated the wireless smart phone charger. Additionally, there was a jetted tub, the room was roomy, and robes/slippers were provided. At 5 pm, they had wine and cheese/fruit delivered to the room, and since I'm pregnant, they even sent up sparkling apple cider for me! In the morning, we got breakfast delivered based on items we had checked off the night before. Breakfast included quiche, bagels, croissants, danish, eggs, coffee, yogurt, fruit, and orange juice. We loved our stay so much, we already booked another stay. They also have valet parking offered at $24/day, which is cheaper than the lot across the street. Highly recommend the Inn over Tide!

Yelp
We recently stayed here for 5 nights. Everything about this place is wonderful! The rooms were clean with comfortable beds, breakfast was delicious (their freshly squeezed oj and toasted bagels were my favorites), and beautiful view!! Also, their staff is friendly and honest. I forgot multiple items in the room on the day we checked out, and all the items were shipped out and delivered to my house a few days later. I'm super impressed with their level of service. They sincerely want their customers to have the best experience DURING and even, AFTER their stay with them. My highest recommendation to THE INN ABOVE TIDE! Best place to stay in Sausalito!

Yelp
Wonderful place....bucket list level. I've been before, loved our recent stay, hated leaving and will most certainly stay her again. The location is unbeatable. If you love the bay--one of the top treasures when living in, or visiting, this area-- and want to connect with it, this must be the #1 place to do that. There are other bay adjacent properties, but none so well positioned for views of the city, the bay, and more.....none giving such direct contact with the sights and sounds of being just 'above the tide'. The staff are amazing! Helpful, caring, efficient, knowledgeable, and more. Long term staff who know the town, the property and each other. Have you ever been in a hotel and asked the staff something only to realize they come to work, then go home, but have no idea about the area surrounding their hotel....and in some cases, limited thoughts or connection to the hotel they work at? That is NOT The Inn Above Tide. They know each other, the town, the property, all very well. They care about their guests' experiences, realizing they are helping them live their dreams, create memories, celebrate something special and more. They care deeply about the hotel's reputation. If you have an issue and they can solve it, they will do their best to try. If you need local guidance, they'll help with that. They know and are connected to the adjacent town and area. Stunning breakfast treats. Fresh bread & pastries, granola, protein options, wonderful tea & coffee, all included. At night there's a wine & cheese hour that is far more generous than most I've experienced. ALL included! And while we were enjoying the morning and evening treats, we met other guests. It was fun to share stories about travels, life and more. Many of the guests were repeat visitors who loved the property & the staff. The more basic rooms are a little small, but so well appointed, you'll get over that in a few minutes....plus, you have a lovely balcony with the expanse of the bay right in front of you. The sounds of the bay are healing. The views--the bay, the city, Belvedere. The commute includes seals, birds, and an occasional Ferry. In the distance there are sail & motor boats, and further out, the shipping industry is passing you buy. Bring your binoculars and settle in. Then there's the location. Close to the ferry for a day trip. Very central to Sausalito for a walk, a drink or food at one of their nearby bars, restaurants, wine bars, and more. Groceries from nearby Mollie Stone's. And if you get that far, consider popping into Fish. Wonderful!! You can sit inside or outside (During pandemic, perhaps you can still have your meal in the nearby area--not controlled by the restaurant. Not sure as we were there before things shut down as completely.) If you are lucky enough to be able to afford a stay at The Inn Above Tide, you really must. Their prices are a bit high, but what do they say--location, location, location. This is a small, boutique, in demand property. There is NOTHING like the location. And they respect your funds, make the rooms amazing, having wonderful staff, amazing food amenities in the morning and evening. Casa Madrona down & across the street doesn't have these views. While it's a beautiful property, the staff and tenor has been influenced by the leadership. NO heart, no caring, they just want your credit card and you can go. From my experience, during multiple visits, they do NOT care about their guests. And obviously, the location isn't as amazing. The Inn Above Tide absolutely does care and it shows in lots of ways, bit and small. It's intimate. The staff feel like they're all family, and you can see the return guests are welcomed as extended family. Can't wait to return.

Yelp
This is the best boutique hotel I've ever stayed in. The view from our room was absolutely amazing. Room 303. The tub and the shower in the bathroom is enormous. I had no Desire to even explore Sausalito because the room was perfect. The customer service was 5 stars as well.

Yelp
My husband and I spent 5 days and I must say that it was worth every penny spent. It is located in the quaint town of Sausalito which sits on the bay, directly across from San Francisco. The streets are lined with restaurants, galleries and shops and a ferry port sits next to the inn that you can ride to the city in. The inn itself is small, intimate, well staffed and very clean. Every single staff member that we came into contact with were very friendly and accommodating. A complimentary continental breakfast was served each morning (you had a choice of dining downstairs or having it delivered to your room for a $3.00 fee) and it consisted of quiche, pastries, fresh fruit, cereal, oatmeal, coffee, juice, lemon water and/or tea. In the evenings at 5:00 p.m., complimentary wine and cheese were served. The room itself was charming. We chose the Queen Deluxe and upon arrival, chilled champagne awaited us. The room hovered right over the water, had a BEAUTIFUL bay view of San Francisco and a glass balcony. Binoculars are provided and we were able to spot a seal and other wildlife. To my surprise, there was no "fishy" or foul odor from the bay and it had a very serene feel to it. The room also included a fireplace, stocked refrigerator, music, safe and a very large tub (no jets). The only downside was the height of the tub which could be tricky getting in and out of, however they do provide non-slip tub mats and a hand rail for assistance. The property is very quiet. Parking "can" be a challenge as many people use the parking lot when catching ferries, HOWEVER the inn does a marvelous job of parking your vehicle if wanted or needed. I have nothing but good things to say about this property. At one point I lost my IPad and had assumed it was stolen. The Manager and personnel did an absolute wonderful and professional job in assisting me. We met wonderful guests and plan to return as often as possible!

Yelp
Always wanted to stay here ! So we finally did ! Not cheep - 500+ for a room with a deck on the water . Was amazing with hordouvres in our room !! Bed was comfy and view amazing ! However ; for that kind of money the wall where the tv and fireplace was was filthy ! What the heck ! We expected pristine for that kind of money and no one has ever gotten back to me acknowledging it . That's all I wanted !

Yelp
This was one of the best hotel experience I've ever had. The room was immaculate and well appointed with unbeatable views. There were so many extras in place like wine & cheese room service. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I imagine they've had you make a lot of changes to deal with COVID but they're doing a spectacular job! I highly recommend staying here for a relaxing weekend away.
