The Inn at Meadowbrook

We stayed here while attending the Hallmark Experience in Kansas City. My boyfriend did not like any of the hotels he saw downtown and decided to book this one. He made sure to get the biggest room and to be on the 3rd floor, ensuring we would not hear anyone above us. The hotel was very clean with welcoming staff, plenty of parking and the elevator being to the right after you walk in, so easy to get your items in. Rooms were nice and spacious with windows all around and importanly shutters to have privacy. As well very quiet with no noise disruptions. We really liked The Market down below, we ate there daily as Verbana didn't have items we would care for however The Market had a variety of food (breakfast/lunch/dinner). It can get pretty hectic in there for breakfast however if you go when they open it's generally quiet. I really enjoyed their cinnamon rolls and iced mocha's. We also ordered the avocado toast, oatmeal, breakfast burrito, humms, beet salad and charcuterie board, on top of cocktails; all were very good. They have a good amount of pastries and cookies to select from, I made sure to get the ginger molasses cookie daily. They also had an area that had ice cream, cakes, salads etc. on top of drinks you could get. Only two cons I can comment on: 1). there are lights on the balconies that do not turn off, they are very big and bright. No amount of coverings on the bedroom door is going to block that out. Luckily I had my sleep mask but without I would not have been able to sleep. 2). The couch and chairs were all uncomfortable, my butt would go numb watching TV (I'm 5'5, 105) and the other chairs had straight backs with no way of relaxing in them. My boyfriend is 6'4 200 and he was miserable in any chair however the ones at the table we could tolerate for a bit. Despite the uncomfortable chairs I really liked this hotel, you just felt at home while there and if I am ever in the area again I'd stay here again.

Wonderful experience at Meadowbrook. Stayed for mother-daughter weekend and the rooms were spacious and high end. Great fireplace in the lobby and market place. Location worked great as did activities on Kansas side. Definitely be back this summer.

I’ve been coming to KC for a medical clinic for 3 years now. I tried several different hotels that are in close proximity to the clinic. Meadowbrook out shines them all by a large margin I recommend them highly for everything from the cleanest rooms, wonderful facility but most of all the. friendly staff & how they take a personal point to make my stay enjoyable everytime. My wife and I did a “staycation” here for one night to celebrate her birthday. Everything was perfect! They do so many little things right that most places miss, even down to the fancy “wood” key card. Grounds are beautiful, the rooms are massive and nicely decorated. Everything is so clean and meticulous. The staff was very welcoming. We will definitely be back. We also did the restaurant and market connected to the hotel which were equally perfect.

Everything about the Inn made us feel appreciated! We could not have asked for more. Room was great Staff could not have been better! We ate at Verbena top notch food and service at a price that was more than reasonable! Will definitely be back, they have the competition beat by a mile!

Usually we stay with family but there was no room this year. Meadowbrook is relatively new. The room was large, the bed very comfortable, everything was clean and the daily cleaning service was thorough. We had breakfast at the café. The food was good but it was very crowded. |I recommend this hotel

The staff was amazing! The entire place was very clean, decorated beautifully and very warm atmosphere. The Christmas lighting all over outside was very beautiful! Loved the pond and walking path. Will definitely be again.

Love this place! So so much! It is very quiet, safe and adorable. The staff is very friendly, decor is stunning and the food at Verbena is great! Few of my favorite things about the hotel: It's small Quiet Bottled water in the fridge in the room Ceiling fans in the rooms Comfy beds Pillows that aren't pancakes! Clean-oh so clean Beautifully decorated Walking paths I'm sure there is more that I'm missing but definitely worth the stay!

Best atmosphere ever. For such a busy park, the hotel was very private and quaint. Was easy to park. Had a drink and live music at the market then dinner at verbena. So convenient. I am an early riser and it was nice to have a kurig in the room. They also had a nespresso machine and tea in the lobby since the market doesn't open til 7. Room was very spacious and also had a mini fridge. There was a cool water machine by the ice machine where you could pick flavors of sparkling water!

Attention to detail. Marvelous location. Step inside the inn for a welcome you won't soon forget. Our room was so quiet. Slow closing doors means no slamming and no sounds bleeding through from adjacent rooms. Leather chairs, furniture with built-in charging outlets (no crawling on the floor required), fridge stocked with your favorite beverage, even the toilet has a built-in nightlight! What haven't they anticipated? The grounds are beautiful with little spots to sit and enjoy and larger spaces for events. Since you're right across from Meadowbrook park they have bikes available so you can get out and enjoy. The pool and fitness center are a little small, but fit the size since there are only 50 or so rooms. The market is quickly becoming the neighborhood hangout. Great selection of pastries, picnic supplies and a limited upscale menu for a quick bite. The homemade jam that came with our beignets was so delicious.

Fantastic stay every time! The staff is friendly and professional, and they will go above and beyond to make your stay as lovely as possible. We've stayed in both standard rooms and suites, and they are all spacious and clean with super comfortable bed. Dining options on property are wonderful (get the breakfast burrito at The Market!) The Inn is our go-to hotel in KC.

I will probably return to stay here again because the hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable. That's 99% of what I need in a hotel. And (sadly) it's not a sure thing nowadays. Otherwise the place is sort of hit-and-miss. And a lot of the misses are big ones. The bathroom reeked of sewer gas which made the whole room smell a bit of it. We made sure that the bathroom door was shut, but then the smell just was concentrated in there. When we got home, our overnight bags still smelled of sewer and we had to set them outside for a day to air out. I'll assume that was a temporary maintenance problem. The front desk staff seemed unconcerned. The coffee machine in the room didn't work. But again, that can be fixed. Other more "permanent" problems... The room is oddly appointed, almost like it was designed to hold much more furniture than it has. I'm not going to complain about a large room, but the large swaths of empty carpet made it feel less like a hotel room, and more like I was sleeping in a conference room. It made the room echoey and cavernous, which was exacerbated by the fact that the un-soundproofed walls didn't do much to cut down on the SIGNIFICANT noise from adjacent rooms. The same, odd choices were made with the bathroom, which was enormous (maybe 10' x 10'?) but only had a toilet and sink. there could've easily been room for some sort of table along the open wall to place towels, or guests' toiletries bags. It almost looked like a handicap-accessible room, but it was not. So it felt very weird. Again, instead of a richly and nicely appointed bathroom like one would expect at this price point, it felt like I was in some sort of YMCA locker room. The "market" cafe on the ground floor was also a bit disappointing when you need breakfast. There were only about five items on the menu and each one sounded good until you got to some oddball ingredient. Like an egg sandwich that sounds like an egg sandwich, until you see that it has "korean scallion salad" on it. The menu all seems like a hackneyed attempt to be chic and trendy instead of giving people what they expect and want in middle America.

We just stayed at this amazing boutique hotel again this past weekend. Again, it is over the top on service. The hotel is simply beautiful and elegant, but the service from the entire staff makes it an amazing stay. This will always be my hotel of choice in the south Kansas City area.

Really nice early November stay at this boutique hotel. The property still seems brand new, with a relatively contemporary but cozy and comfortable feel. It is located in an area near a park where there is lot of room for lovely relaxing walks. Plenty of parking. The rooms are very large, the beds are comfortable, and there was plenty of storage and plugs for charging. Breakfast at The Market was excellent -- coffee and breakfast sandwiches both highly recommended. The only issue is that what others have said is true -- the floors/ceilings seem too thin, and it's easy to hear someone walking around in the room above. Not a lot that can be done about it, and while it wasn't a huge disturbance during our stay, it was noticeable. Hopefully they consider thick rugs for all the rooms.

AMAZING!! Best place to stay!! Breakfast was incredible and their pastries to die for... seriously. That good!!

The only problem with this place (but it is a very big problem) is that you can't have anyone above you because the floors are so thin you will hear them walking all night. The rooms are cavernous, so there is a lot of walking. We got NO SLEEP the entire time we were here. It is not the staff's fault, it is the building. So yes, stay here, but make sure you ask for a top floor.

This is a must place for Kansas City! If you want great food, Verbena their restaurant is probably one of my favorites in Kansas City. The morning coffee breakfast place is charming and has everything you need! To add to all this, the rooms are HUGE, beautiful and priced more than fair! To top everything off, the staff at the hotel is absolutely fantastic! They never cease to amaze us, and this time around we were blown away by their gesture. When checking in, they asked how are travel was, and laughingly, we said, very short, we live locally but we are here to take a breather from our wonderful (4) kids. We didn't make much of it and went out way and headed to dinner. Upon our return, to our room, we found the most amazing chocolates, champagne and beautiful candles in the room! This was way above expectations! We were happy with the beautiful room, amazing food, and fantastic location next to the park! They really went out of their way to make us feel special and enjoy our break!! We will definitely be back, and recommend to all our friends That come to Kc to visit for work or leisure

This has ruined me for all other hotel experiences. Staff was so attentive and the rooms, lobby, and pool were perfection.

We are traveling back west after my fathers funeral in CT. We have family in the area but didn't want to stay at their house due to COVID. We had reservations at another hotel and walked in after a night of driving, to our horror - the place was a disaster and totally unsafe (no masks, too many people ...). I hopped on yelp and found this Inn. Clean, lovely front desk staff, social distancing, hand sanitizer and EVERYONE is wearing masks!!! From check in to check out the staff was wonderful, we felt clean and safe. We are now well rested and ready to head back home. Thank you!!! A tremendous find and fabulous stay.

The Inn at Meadowbrook is beautiful from top to bottom, but we particularly enjoyed the pool area! The outdoor pool and hot tub are set up nicely with lounge chairs, large and sturdy shade umbrellas, relaxing music, and a diligently replenished towel area. It felt like a little oasis for the weekend!

Nice people and good food/drink- would recommend to go specifically to the Market it was good

I'm very picky about hotels and I can tell you that I can't say enough good things about this gorgeous place. The room was beautiful and spacious, the grounds were so pretty. I had a wonderful visit and will be back. I highly recommend coming here. I rate this one of the best places I've ever stayed at.

This boutique hotel would win Best in Class if I were the judge. The staff are outstanding. The rooms are well appointed and the little touches do not go unnoticed- ceiling fan, chilled coffee creamer, delightful fragrances in the elevator and upon entry to the hotel etc. The cocktail pool and hot tub is a dream with lovely views, drink service, plush loungers and pleasant music. There is also a vintage "phone booth" with a rotary phone that our kids were obsessed with. We also enjoyed The Market, especially the Avocado Toast with Sea Salt. Verbena was closed for the holiday, but we will definitely try it when we stay next. This is a memorable hidden gem that you don't want to skip!

Will not stay anywhere else when dining to the KC area. Smells great when you walk in. Staff friendly and tells you welcome back. Accommodations . Cafe yummy. Fitness center the best.

We stayed one night, and had an amazing experience. The hotel is super clean and all the staff are very friendly and attentive to the guests needs. It's in a beautiful area, and a great peaceful getaway that is well worth the stay.

We had such a wonderful relaxing get away. Go Chiefs. The Staff here are the most friendly and accommodating. I'm picky about clean rooms. These rooms as well as the whole property was so well kept and very clean. The lobby smells wonderful. And always a Happy greeting face. (NFM). That was truly a great feeling. Knowing here in the states of KS / MO live free. Thank you for all you do to making your guest top priority.

Beautiful space! Your new favorite staycation spot!! Beautiful grounds to walk or to use one of the bikes the hotel provides to take a spin around the pond. Great outdoor space for morning coffee with views or evening happy hour by the Chimineas. The rooms are spacious, well thought out and modern with all the amenities. I cannot wait to go back for another girls weekend or a romantic getaway with my husband!

We did a last minute staycation and had an awesome experience. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. The room was large and very clean and the pool was very nice. We at at both Verbena and the Market and both were top notch! We will definitely be recommending this spot to our friends and family and anyone seeking a great experience!
