The Inn at Mount Vernon Farm

We loved our stay here! Dawn was fantastic, making sure we had exactly what we needed and were comfortable. The breakfast was a delicious yogurt parfait with ginger scones, toast, coffee and tea. The bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean! Our favorite part was the hot tub which had panoramic views and the wood burning fireplace which was super cozy! We loved everything about our stay!

My friend and I stayed at this beautiful historic B&B for two nights this past Thurs-Sat and had a great stay! The staff is so kind and helpful, the room - Fox's Lair - was very clean, large, and had two beds which is rare for B&Bs! The breakfast buffet was in the lovely downstairs dining room and the food was delicious and homemade. We took full advantage of the hot tub outside the house and enjoyed the stars and surrounding mountains. We hiked Old Rag on Friday and it was about 30 minutes away which was perfect. It's minutes from Sperryville and wineries so the location is great. We would love to return!

This place is a hidden gem! We stayed in the Queen's Room, and it was even lovelier than the photos - plus a spacious bathroom with fabulous large glass shower. The attention to detail throughout the property was amazing. Such beautiful decor in the rooms, high quality linens, and a delicious and charming breakfast service. Sarah, the innkeeper, was very sweet and took the time to make us feel welcome when we arrived rather late. Highly recommend this off-the-beaten-track inn. We wanted to experience the Virginia countryside, and this place was so worth the extra driving time. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

Went for a girls weekend. It was AMAZING! The room was lovely - 2 Queen beds and modern bathroom. The location was fantastic- right near nat'l park with lots of hiking. Perfect for fall foliage. They provide a nice breakfast with muffins/fruit and happy hour at 4pm with very nice wine and cookies! Highly recommend.

The location is absolutely beautiful and perfect for exploring the Shenandoah National Park. The amenities such as the bocce court, hot tub, and lovely settings for common areas all added to the enjoyment of the overall facility. Our room and the bathroom were very nice and had beautiful views. The only reason I give a 4 instead of a 5 is that I was really disappointed by breakfast. One of the enjoyments of a bed and breakfast is usually a delicious breakfast. I am not a cold breakfast person so the continental style breakfast of yogurt and toast was a big disappointment and the breakfast being the same every day other than the cold baked item which was provided got a bit boring after several days. The staff were lovely and there were multiple people supporting breakfast so I don't understand why eggs, pancakes, bacon etc could not be provided.

A fantastic get-away place! Very clean, cozy, comfortable and with a friendly and attentive staff! Very picturesque views right next to Shenandoah with abundant stunning hiking trails. Delicious breakfast! Originally built in the 1820s, the farmhouse has been in the same family for 8 generations, which helped preserve original antique items throughout the property. The Owners Suite is great for 3-4 ppl as it has a surprisingly comfortable unfolding couch/bed in the den. Fantastic bath too. Definitely coming back!

We stayed at this historic Inn for our 50th anniversary. The king suite was lovely with views out front and back of Inn. Beautiful Mountain Views. Period pieces in accessories. We had a Nice sized sitting room to relax in. An old fashioned hot tub is there for guests. The basement dining decor is bricked and beamed and very quaint. The staff was so kind. Even the cook who has been there 42 years greeted us. Plenty of fabulous restaurants in the area.

If you're interested in relaxing, this is your place. We stayed in the owner's suite and couldn't have asked for a more relaxing, quiet, and idyllic respite. The staff was very accommodating and hospitable, explaining all about the house, the property, and the amenities we would enjoy. The afternoon is open for an evening beverage and light snack between 4 and 6 p.m. which we enjoyed. Downtown Sperryville is not far and we welcome the short walk to experience a little bit more of the relaxing area. The breakfast wasn't that impressive. It includes buffet service that was the same each day we stayed here. The pancakes were rather tasteless and then I discovered they were gluten free. I would not recommend them unless you need to eat gluten free food. It's definitely worth visiting and we most certainly will return.

Unsafe! Toilet is running. No one is answering the phones. No one is on-site. Main house is empty. No emergency phone number supplied (only phone number provided is the main number). The cabin is old and the modern fixtures are in a state of disrepair. If you have knee problems, consider not staying here. The stairs are steep and many are cracked horizontally. The internet is shoddy.

For a more affordable option to the Inn at Little Washington I really recommend staying here. Situated in the verdant rolling hills with great views and animals to boot you cannot go wrong. We stayed in the Queen's room which was really fun. The juxtaposition between the antique décor and the modern luxurious bathroom was unexpected and welcome. I love a dual shower head and massive shower. The bed was huge and we slept great. We took advantage of the hot tub as well and there is a bocce court also. The staff is incredible. The breakfast was phenomenal! They treated us like family and made us wonderful meals both mornings. So hearty that I barely wanted to eat lunch. In the living room they made a fire for us and had wine and treats that were complimentary. I doubt I have been treated this nice at any place besides an all inclusive resort. On the last day we got to meet some of the farm animals. Cows, sheep, a donkey, and even a llama. We had a wonderful time here, make sure you come visit!

What a truly wonderful and unique experience! This home has been in the same family for 9 generations and the love and care they put in to the home really shows. There is a hot tub and bocce court but the weather was too hot to enjoy in mid August, but we did take a walk and it was 360* of gorgeous views from atop the hill. We stayed in the large room downstairs and it had a totally modern bathroom and was spacious enough for all our suitcases and more. The breakfast was healthy and served downstairs where we lingered in the space and just chatted because of its historical, classy feel. I can not say enough good things about the staff and the owner who came out and entertained us with his stories life here. He is a true gem with a warm smile and charm to spare. We got a great nights sleep because the bed was wonderful and it was so quiet and peaceful. It would be our pleasure to stay here again because this is truly a one of a kind experience.

What a lovely, magical place this is. Go, go, go. My mom and I are already planning our trip back. Wonderfully kind people, gorgeous views, delicious breakfast, beautiful animals. My version of heaven. I wrote more on Trip Advisor :o)

We had a great stay here in the Brief Room. The view from the from porch is incredible. There are two trails on the property and a stream. The owner even showed us their beautiful barn. Highly recommended, not farm from Shenandoah National Park. I'm a vegan and they made me an delicious vegan breakfast and my husband loved his non-vegan spread too. The inn has wifi but the town of Sperryville doesn't have cell service when you're driving so look up directions in advance. We stayed here during Covid, everyone wore masks and the inn was spotless.

The Inn at Mount Vernon Farm tops my list for any B&B near DC. My husband, Isaac and I stumbled into the Inn unaware it had just opened up. We were honored to be the family's first guests. Of course the Millers made us immediate family. I've been to many places around the world. The Inn, food, ambiance and hosts get my personal 5 star rating. Can't wait to return. Everything from the sheets to perfect bed to horses and vista...And mostly the family. What a wonderful addition to the DC-Va area.

My wife and I went there for a quick get away for our anniversary and had a fabulous time. The in is situated in the heart of the wine country in Virginia. The scenery was beautiful and serene. The inn was very charming with 1800's decor, and the owner, Cliff, went out of his way to make our trip very enjoyable, and gave us a personal tour of the property. It has been in his family's car since 1827, and you can tell that he takes great pride keeping the grounds in tip top shape. The room (owner's suite) we stayed in was nicely decorated and very comfortable. I wished we had more time to explore the property. The morning breakfast was delicious, and mostly made with ingredients grown on the property. We would definitely stay here again.

Our family had a wonderful stay at this 180 year old farm house, still owned by the original family that built it. House has all the charms of the original construction with the comfort of remodeled bathrooms and updated HVAC. The host was very gracious and shared with us some of the family history going back to colonial times and the Civil War. The grounds are beautiful, there is a trout stream near by, and the quiet scenery makes for a great getaway.

This review is for the Farm, but, believe me, I am sure the Inn is exquisite, if it's half as good as the meat and eggs that are for sale at the actual farm. There really is something to what they say about grass fed and grass finished beef. Having enjoyed steaks at some of the very best restaurants from New York to San Francisco, I can tell you that I feel fortunate to live within purchasing distance of Mount Vernon. Their beef will melt in your mouth. I didn't know eggs could taste so clean and fresh." It's the best way I can describe it. Try something. Anything here. You will not be disappointed.

We stayed in the cabin and enjoyed ourselves very much. Very private. Very nice fireplace. Note that the bathroom is on the first floor and the bedroom is upstairs which a little tricky in the middle of the night. Fantastic breakfasts in the main inn. Great place to get away (there is no cell service at the inn).

Adorable house, nice room, great hosts, amazing breakfast. Just some of the things that make this a great place to stay when visiting sperryville. Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the small bug problem on our room. Just some tree bugs, nothing major, but definitely should be taken care of.

I had an amazing time there. Everything is wonderful, the family is very VERY welcoming, the house is just a wonder, the view of the valley too. We will be back!

Photos and description do not do this place justice! My husband and I, who have travelled to many lovely B&Bs both in the US and Europe, found this Inn to be a gem. My husband and I wanted a serene 2 night getaway from the kids and travelled here from Richmond, and found exactly what we had hoped for. The drive north from Charlottesville is so scenic, and the blue ridge mountains form the backdrop for a star-filled sky every night. The rooms are tastefully furnished and very clean, and the attention to detail is incredible, both in the decor as well as the sumptuous breakfast and the almond milk put in our mini fridge in our Cabin room when they noted my husband stays away from dairy products! The innkeepers are attentive and friendly. The property, which has been in the same family for eight generations, is beautifully restored and maintained. I can't wait to come here again.

A piece of American History. The best vacation my wife and I have ever taken. Breakfast was sensational and Mr. Miller and his staff feel like family. Love the history behind the home and the Valley. Stayed all over the world and we finally found our favorite place to rest and stroll. The estate is almost 200 years old and at times I felt like we were back in time. APlus!

This is by far the most beautiful bed and breakfast I've ever been to in my life (and I've been to quite a few - my parents love them and we stayed in many growing up, and I stay in them whenever I can as an adult). The family that owns the inn and farm is amazing and incredibly welcoming. The house (built by ancestors) has been updated with modern comforts like beautiful stone bathrooms with HUGE showers (the one in our room had dual heads - I did not want to get out), coupled with wonderful, well preserved antique wood furniture and decor. There are also many original oil paintings of the family (e.g., great great grandparents) throughout the house, which was a special touch. Definitely not your "grandma's house" type of bed and breakfast with too many floral patterns and overstuffed chairs. The family's free range farming practices are inspiring in a time when factory farming has taken over much of American agriculture. The farm has cows, sheep, llamas, pigs, horses, and chickens. We got to tour it and hang out with the animals in the pasture, which was the highlight of the trip! Breakfast was also delicious and included blueberry pancakes, granola, free range sausages, and eggs from the free range chickens (best eggs I've ever had!). We had breakfast with several family members, which was very cozy. You can buy their meat in their store, too. I highly recommend this lovely place. Make a weekend of it by visiting local wineries and art studios and you won't be disappointed!
