We had such a perfect stay! We were going up to Buena Vista for the day, as we are eloping in the mountains come August, but decided to stay the night! We are staying at the Inn in August, and we’re so excited when they had a room available. I cried happy tears as soon as we stepped inside — absolutely beautiful! You can tell that every detail was meticulously chosen, and the accommodations were great! We awoke to yummy coffee and fun people watching off Main St. We are so grateful this place exists and captures the charm and history that is Buena Vista.

Perfect spot in downtown Buena Vista. Room was lovely - mix of antique and modern. Right above a nice place to eat. Close to a lovely independent book store - what more could you want? Very easy to check in - all automatic - no glitches.

I was disappointed with my stay, which felt overpriced and less accommodating than an Airbnb. The walls were extremely thin, allowing me to hear every word of the conversations next door. Additionally, there were no staff members on-site to assist with issues. I encountered significant difficulties with the check-in process; despite multiple attempts to contact the hotel through calls, texts, and voicemails, it took a long time to receive assistance. Literally just sitting in my car, feeling helpless, trying to figure out what I was going to do if I couldn't get ahold of someone to get in to my room. When I finally reached someone, they insisted the error with not receiving my door code was due to a mistake on my part, suggesting I had entered my phone number incorrectly when booking. This was despite booking through my credit card company, with which I have never previously had issues. The conversation escalated to the point where the staff member threatened to cancel my reservation, leaving me potentially without a place to stay for the night. There was no apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience caused, just continuous blame that I screwed up. Additionally, the hotel does not offer cleaning services during your stay, and the noise from neighboring rooms started early in the morning. The refrigerator was also ineffective, barely cool enough to be considered functioning. Despite the charming appearance in photos, I will not be returning, nor will I be recommending it to any of my friends when we vacation down there.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a fantastic stay at The Inn in Buena Vista! The central location is perfect, putting you right in the heart of everything. The rooms are incredibly well-appointed and thoughtfully decorated, making them feel both cozy and stylish. The interiors are warm and inviting, creating a lovely atmosphere to relax in after exploring the area. The service was top-notch—friendly and attentive staff made sure all my needs were met. Plus, the value for money is outstanding. Highly recommend The Inn for a memorable stay in Buena Vista!

It’s clear the owners put a lot of effort into the interior design of this place. It is very beautiful on the inside. But that doesn’t make up for the fact that the noises heard from the restaurant kitchen next door and other guests make this place next to impossible to get a good nights rest. Not to mention the second room in the suite we were in doesn’t have a window. Great for light sensitive folks but a terrible fire hazard and I’m pretty sure a building code violation. Location is good for walking Main Street, but again, because it shares walls with an industrial kitchen that starts up at 6am and doesn’t close until 11pm, it’s hard to come back and relax. Truly, I’ve stayed in hostels quieter than this place. Theres no front desk and you have to check in via text. Overall, it’s giving overpriced airbnb more than a boutique inn.

Excellent communication. My husband and I stayed one night between our various snowshoeing destinations. The communication (via text) was clear and concise.||The accommodation were lovely. The bed was comfortable with smooth sheets. The room, refrigerator, and microwave were very clean. We couldn't hear anything from the room, despite going to sleep before the restaurant downstairs closed at 9pm.||The town of Buena Vista has a cute downtown and The Inn is at one end end of it. We enjoyed wandering Main Street, checking out the small shops and restaurants, having dinner, and playing cards at the distillery while having a couple of drinks.

This was the coolest hotel, and perfect for our overnight. The room was so well decorated, spacious, and thoughtful. Even the hallway is beautiful, with stunning floral arrangements. The “no contact” check in/out was ideal for us. If you’re looking for a “standard” hotel with a front desk, look elsewhere. However, for those of us who like a no-pressure adventure, this is perfect. We received lots of information along the way prior to check-in, and knew exactly what we needed to know once we were ready to check in. The amenities in-room are lovely, with a small fridge, microwave, real glassware, and even a bottle opener. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Everything was spotless. We also enjoyed a delicious dinner at the pizza joint downstairs. While we could hear our rather chatty neighbors on one side, but they were definitely a louder group and they went to bed/quieted down at a reasonable time. We did hear some rather innocuous music from the restaurant below, but it, too, quieted at a reasonable time and did not disrupt our stay. We slept like the dead and had an awesome time here. Will definitely stay again!

Google
Great location, comfortable bed, and attractive decor. |There was no way to select an individual "railroad king" room, and so we thought if we booked directly with the hotel we would be given a better room than if we booked with expedia or booking. Nope. Despite booking directly, we got the smallest railroad king, one with no closet and no safe. There were a number of larger vacant railroad king rooms during the two nights of our stay. |There is no daily maid service, and so no one to ask for a second hand towel or more coffee. |The free public parking was a welcome surprise.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed in room 210 for a night and had a wonderful experience! The space was tastefully decorated and renovated nicely. We've had mixed experiences with boutique hotels, but this is an example of one done well. It's conveniently located downtown on Main Street (upstairs) and is a perfect way to either visit the city, or enjoy a night while passing through. The front desk is virtual in the form of text messaging, which we had zero issue with getting our room code and to check out, and we found they responded to our inquiry about parking promptly. The parking lot is off of Railroad street in a public lot that we had zero issues with. The electronic locks for the rooms took a moment to understand, but worked fine to lock/unlock the room. (Hint: Double tap the logo and the keypad appears). Though the pricing can be a bit expensive, it seems in line with what you can expect to pay in mountain towns. Overall, our stay at The Inn left us with the feeling that we got what we paid for, and we would absolutely stay here again.

Yelp
Very nice renovation of space in an old building within walking distance of shops and restaurants in Buena Vista. Anything else you will need within a mile or two. Plenty of parking close by. Nice decore, plenty of hot water and good bathroom. Sent text 2 days prior to visit. No response. Directions didn't say that door needed to be locked electronicaly when you left the room. For first 24 hrs I couldn't get the door to lock. I was told that the doors needed adjustment. The safe in the room was already locked when I arrived. Was told they couldn't find the key fob to open it. Took a day to fix. New toilet had 3 or 4 problems. Installed incorrectly. I fixed a few of the issues to keep it from sticking but still could use some work. I didn't have any noise issues. The restaurant below closes at 9pm. I stayed 3 nites and was hiking most days and going to bed at 8-9pm. The mattress and pillows were fantastic as well as well functioning A/C and a good ice machine. There are no dressers in the room. Not even luggage stands. You Have to work out of your luggage from the floor. Not good for this level of Inn. No usable chair in the room. There was one "sling" chair that was not easy to sit on and zero back support. I like a chair to read. I don't like to have to sit in the bed whenever I used the room. I sat in the chair to put on my socks and boots and the chair tipped over and my forehead struck the edge of the bed leaving a half inch cut. Minimal blood. Trash, trash, trash!!!! There was one trash can located in the bathroom and no place to empty trash. Hydrate, hydrate. I used a case of water and 16 bottles of Gatorade. Nowhere to put the empty bottles. There are 25 steps to to rooms. I am athletic older man. It was painful to carry multiple 40 lb. suitcases and packs up those stair. The Inn did send me a text...... on the last day, asking what they could do to improve my stay. To little too late. I have been gone for 4 days. I had expected the INN to reach out to me personally about my issues. I expect the owner to respond to this review. That is all u can expect for service during you stay.... The perfunctory virtual response. This place has potential but alot to learn about hospitality. I sincerely wish them luck.

Yelp
This is a very cute, wonderfully quiet little hotel. We stayed here two nights on a short getaway from Denver, and we appreciated the ease of communication with staff we never actually saw. Our room was comfortably furnished with high ceilings, it was a pleasant space to be in. The only thing I can think to suggest for improvement would be light-blocking window shades. It is unusual in that there are no staff immediately on site - I communicated with them via text. I suspect they must live nearby, and the service was fine for our needs. But travelers who want amenities like room service won't get it here. I'm also not sure about accessibility - all of the hotel rooms are on the second floor, reached via stairs. There might be a hidden elevator somewhere - if that's something you need you should check before making a reservation. Last thing: on our way out of town we stopped to check out another new(ish) hotel in Buena Vista that we'd heard about. I won't name it because this review is about The Inn at BV Railroad and Main, but: we were wearing face masks (COVID) when we entered the lobby, and checked out the ground floor restaurant. The entire ground floor smelled very strongly of wood smoke, immediately apparent even with our masks on. It was late morning and the restaurant wasn't open, so I don't think the smell could be fully attributed to kitchen activities. Maybe the smell was a temporary thing and this other hotel seemed nice enough, but I was very glad we'd stayed in the scent-free comfort of The Inn at BV Railroad and Main.

Yelp
Stayed three nights a couple of weeks ago to celebrate our anniversary, loved it. Decor, setting, contact M.O., it all worked really well for us. Our room was very spacious with high ceilings and very tastefully appointed. We didn't want a cookie cutter corporate-like hotel and The Inn delivered as hoped. Will stay there again for certain.

Yelp
A little tricky to find the website. Just do a Google search for The Inn at BV Railroad and Main to check availability. There is no front desk. The rooms are located on the second floor. Prior to check in you get a text for the main door code and your room code. There is no elevator ( at least I did not see one). The rooms are spacious and beautiful. The location is great. A pizza restaurant is located on the first floor. The pizza was good. Great shops in the area. You can also walk to the trails along the Arkansas River. I would definitely stay at this location again.

Yelp
This place is a gem! I needed a place last minute and only really knew of the Surf Hotel. They were booked and recommended I give The Inn a call. I'm so glad I did! What a beautiful little boutique hotel. Matt took GREAT care of me and got me set up in a fabulous room for the night within minutes. The decor was just my style - classy, mountain-chic AND modern. Easy check-in with door codes (no front desk) and a dynamite pizza spot downstairs. Coffee and breakfast right across the street, as well as a sweet vintage shop next door to it (Sun Dog.) I walked down to the river after checking in and went for a sunset hike and then headed back for pizza and restful sleep in the super comfy king-size bed (with a classic European painting of a dog that looked just like mine hanging over it!) Thank you guys for making my night in Buena Vista perfect! I love this place and will definitely have it as my top pick when I find myself in BV again.

Yelp
Beautiful boutique hotel/inn. About a dozen rooms, and you get to pick yours out online. We had a king bed in a beautifully appointed room with a mountain view. Quiet and lovely, right on Main Street in Buena Vista. Nice restaurant downstairs. One oddity - there's no real lobby. Staff was great, and helpful with recommendations.
