Chill neighborhood bar with brews, pool & event nights in a convivial locale with eclectic decor.
"Come for the open mic nights and stay for the grunginess. The Innertown Pub has the look and feel of an old-time joint with its colorful décor and ’60s artwork. The basic beer selection is cheap, and the free pool table and dartboards will keep drinkers entertained until the wee hours." - Ashok Selvam
"Innertown Pub, the neighborhood tavern in Ukrainian Village that the city shut down for nearly nine months over a series of building code citations, will reopen Thursday, June 16. In September 2021, city inspectors found building violations including hazardous electrical conditions and claimed that raw sewage was leaking into the bar’s basement. Owner Denis Fogarty, however, contends that the latter claim is inaccurate, telling Block Club Chicago that the business never had plumbing issues. Nevertheless, Innertown has undergone structural renovations during its temporary closure, though most will be invisible to customers, Fogarty tells reporters." - aimee.levitt
"The proposal for the club was made by Out To Lunch Hospitality, which also had plans for Ukrainian Village dive bar Happy Village." - Naomi Waxman
"Dive bars, like Innertown Pub, have found ways to stay open. The Ukrainian Village tavern converted a driveway to a patio and acquired a food license to stay open." - Ashok Selvam
"Ukrainian Village’s Innertown Pub ultimately prevailed in its fight for a backyard patio and now has a mellow space for customers to sip cheap beers." - Ashok Selvam, Naomi Waxman
