"Love table tennis? Then make your way to Happy Village to test your skills against some eclectic locals at one of our favorite dive-bar/packaged goods spots in the neighborhood. If you’re like us and only get “better” after a few PBRs, don’t be surprised when you get your ass handed to you before you even realize you’ve finished volleying for the serve. But don’t worry, their expansive back patio, calming waterfall and dirt cheap beers are the perfect remedy for whatever ails you." - Potluck Creative
"Come for the open mic nights and stay for the grunginess. The Innertown Pub has the look and feel of an old-time joint with its colorful décor and ’60s artwork. The basic beer selection is cheap, and the free pool table and dartboards will keep drinkers entertained until the wee hours." - Ashok Selvam
"A legendary neighborhood dive beloved for inexpensive beer and an unpretentious, late-night atmosphere—so much so that visiting felt like a required pilgrimage. It’s portrayed as a go-to place for a cheap nightcap before an evening flight, where drinks can be noticeably cheaper than in larger cities." - Emma Orlow
"Innertown Pub, the neighborhood tavern in Ukrainian Village that the city shut down for nearly nine months over a series of building code citations, will reopen Thursday, June 16. In September 2021, city inspectors found building violations including hazardous electrical conditions and claimed that raw sewage was leaking into the bar’s basement. Owner Denis Fogarty, however, contends that the latter claim is inaccurate, telling Block Club Chicago that the business never had plumbing issues. Nevertheless, Innertown has undergone structural renovations during its temporary closure, though most will be invisible to customers, Fogarty tells reporters." - aimee.levitt
"The proposal for the club was made by Out To Lunch Hospitality, which also had plans for Ukrainian Village dive bar Happy Village." - Naomi Waxman
