Thanksgiving fixed price menu service for party of 5 was provided with near flawless execution by the team at Irish American. 3-4 menu options for 3 courses and our family tried them all. They were delivered with such care and quality preparation that we were uniformly delighted with our holiday meal. And the staff and management knew how to stay on top of the meal flow and assure a positive experience for every diner.

The buffalo cauliflower and old fashioned were amazing. The chicken parm sliders were ok. Service was great and its a good pub vibe in the area.

Looks and sounds exactly like an Irish pub should be. We went on a Tuesday evening for dinner and there was a healthy after work crowd having drinks. I had the Guinness short rib which was absolutely divine. My husband had the chicken pot pie and the cauliflower starter. He had some food envy.

1st time here. Place was delicious! A hidden gem but so glad I found it. Great service, food melted in my mouth. Everything on the menu is honestly delicious. The quesadilla was to die for and the mac and cheese was #1. There was plenty of TV's to watch the game, friendly and helpful staff and reasonably priced. This is a must if in NY.

The Food was delicious and the prices where reasonable. Portions side enough for two but I wasn't sharing! LOL. Friendly and clean. My friend and I will definitely be back again!

Relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and appropriately attentive - responsive and not hovering. Crisp fish and chips, loved the mashed peas and the coleslaw- wished there was more of both if them. Buffalo wing were excellent. Definitely a great place to escape the heat and have some excellent pub food.

Great Food, but Service Needs Improvement The pub has a cozy atmosphere and serves excellent food. The quality of the dishes was impressive, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. However, the service left something to be desired. The waitstaff seemed more engaged with each other than with the guests, which made it difficult to get their attention. A bit more attentiveness would greatly enhance the experience. Overall, if you’re looking for great food and don’t mind a laid-back service style, this place is worth a visit.

While exploring the area, I stumbled upon this bar and was pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was, with plenty of seating available. I really enjoyed the open and comfortable vibe. This is an English-style pub, so they offer a great selection of traditional English dishes and beers. We ordered nachos and calamari to share, and both were delicious with generous portions at reasonable prices. However, one downside was the service. Our server wasn’t very polite. After we placed our order and asked to keep one of the menus, they tossed it onto the table without a word and walked away. Throughout our two-hour stay, the server’s attitude remained unfriendly, which made it feel like they were having a bad day. While the food and ambiance were great, the service could definitely use some improvement.

The Irish American NYC is a hidden gem--literally. Tucked away in a basement, it's the kind of bar you're glad to know about, especially when you want to escape the heat (or the cold). It's always cool and comfortable inside, no matter the season. The atmosphere strikes a great balance between laid-back and lively. Plenty of TVs make it a go-to spot for watching a match, and the crowd is usually into the game without being rowdy. Drinks are fairly priced, the staff is friendly, and the vibe feels like a proper local hangout. It's not flashy, and it doesn't need to be. The Irish American delivers where it counts: good energy, cold drinks, and a cool, cozy basement setting that's perfect year-round. A strong four stars and an easy choice for game day or an after-work pint downtown.

This was the best tasting chicken sandwich I have had and it came from a small Irish pub down in a basement. Amazing service and food.

Food: delicious when you have a yummy drink to with. (I had the watermelon and mint mule, didn't take a picture, sorry!) Service: it was busy because of the weekend games but they food and drinks arrived relatively fast. Ambiance: what you expect from an Irish pub. Rowdy audience and drinkers/eaters who came to watch the games. It was rustic, inviting, and fun to be in!

The Irish American in downtown Manhattan is a quintessential Irish-themed bar that feels like it's straight out of a TV depiction. While I'm neither Irish nor particularly familiar with Irish culture beyond media portrayals, this spot offers an authentic and enjoyable experience that earns high praise--at least from someone who's seen plenty of Cheers, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Family Guy, and The Simpsons. If it's man-cave-worthy with an Irish, Celtic green vibe, why not say this is the best Irish pub that seamlessly doubles as a sports bar and a cozy retreat? The drinks menu is a highlight, with options like Irish coffee or just Guinness. The service was quick as one could imagine as Irish coffee is simple to make. The combination of sweet, bitter, and warm flavors makes it a delightful experience. Although I didn't try the food, play pool or cards, or join in the karaoke, all of these activities are available and would make for a fun outing with friends. This seems like the perfect place to visit during March Madness or Saint Patrick's Day for a lively celebration. I'll definitely consider bringing friends back for those occasions and will likely update my review when that time comes. Mark my words, I shall return.

My family and I spent Thanksgiving here and truly enjoyed. I didn't realize how busy they would be or how HUGE this place was. The holiday decorations are amazingggg. There was a pre fixe menu for Thanksgiving with good choices. I only got a photo of the lamb lollipops which were so delicious. I will need to go back and order from the regular menu to give a more thorough review but our Thanksgiving meal was very good and even though they were busy service was super friendly.

Torn b/t 3 & 4 stars. The food here is not amazing - but it's good. The service was not great - my food was forgotten about. They were moderately busy, but seemed shirt staffed. The staff they did have were busting their tails & doing their best. One of my beers was skunked, & I was charged for it. That all being said, those are not even complaints. Very friendly staff, clean inside, & very nice interior. My only issue is that the lights were on too bright for a bar. BUT - this place has a vibe. I can imagine it was once filled with awful finance bro's with blue vests. However - so many of them thankfully work from home, or somewhere else, now. Since COVID - 2020, John St is eerily not very busy at lunch time now. But this place is. And it's not bankers. Contractors / construction guys. Some visitors. Rando's? A great mix of all kinds of people from all walks of life, being loud, letting off steam, and having a good time. This place is a real oasis in this neighborhood. I wish I knew about it a long time ago. They are also open late, & their kitchen is open late. This, and Fish Market, are the 2 best spots down here. But Fish Market is not open for lunch. So that narrows it down. This was a tough call 3 or 4 stars. If they just dimmed the lights a bit, wld go up to 4.

service was good. wings tasted ok, the barbecue tasted like Buffalo for some reason. Bathroom was a little dirty.

This bar is nearby my office and it's huge. It's a ginormous Irish Pub. It has really good food and drinks. I went here with coworkers for a happy hour catchup because it was in rare form that we were all in the city at the same time. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and everything was pretty good. I had a few happy hour well drinks. Their service was good. Their bathrooms were clean and I could've sworn I did karaoke here at a time! Very fun casual spot!

I visited TIA for a Promotion Party. TIA is a "happening place", if you are looking for a good/happy time. I definitely recommend TIA. It's located in the lower level at 17 John Street, steps ... Food/menu has plenty to choose from, cocktails-same a great variety. The staff was so nice to me and my friends. It is a bar and Karaoke is ON, it started on time with continued performances. Great friendly ambiance. Visit The Irish American.

The complete package delivered true enjoyment. The food works well alongside good service. The food quality is consistent. Employees show exceptional friendliness while meeting customer needs. This restaurant pleases me and I'll return again.

Came with about 30 workers to celebrate the retirement of three colleagues and was severely disappointed. From outside it looks like a small bar but inside is very spacious. We called several days ahead to reserve a section for us from 5pm - 7pm. Once we arrived instead of being greeted they just pointed to our section. No hello smh. Once seated we could see that they were moderately busy. The waiter in the section said we can order with him or at the bar. Unfortunately once we gave him our first drink order he said they were out of the banana maple smash. He then ran off and disappeared for 30 minutes without taking our food and drink order. After that delay we decided to go the bar and place our drink orders. Most of the bartenders were competent and did their job. However, the redheaded bartender was extremely rude even harshly telling one of my colleagues "you can see that we're busy" and not taking the drink order. Had it been one of the retirees she said that to all of us would have walked out. Needless to say we won't be wasting our money here again. There's no reason to pay for bad service and rude staff. Stout is a better sports in the area. Mezcali around the corner is a better bar with a great staff. Don't waste your time here.

The decorative touches here enhance the experience. The interior sets the tone perfectly. This restaurant combines tasty food with exceptional service. The restaurant crew was quick and completely accurate. Friends will appreciate both the space and menu here.

Been going to the Irish American for several years, both for personal and business meals and have NEVER been disappointed! Food and atmosphere are fantastic, and the staff is always professional and helpful. Special highlight to Kahn. He is the BEST!

Lots of seating options. Good service. Cold AC, colder beer. Great place for lunch or after work. Excellent place to watch your favorite soccer match.

They take way too long to ask you if you need a drink.You get a seven min grace period with especially when it's ten million other bars in the area I can spend my money at I was just there today 8/22/25 at 550pm

Nice spot on FiDi with decent food and drinks. I've been here a handful of times during lunch hours and after work for happy hour. Pretty large space, ok music and pretty good service depending on who you get.

Was told via email and IG DM that St. Pat's menu would be available all weekend. Was notified by person checking me in that it was not available. False marketing! Server look like he didn't want to me there, had to be flagged down constantly.

Great casual bar right in the heart of the Financial District. This lower level spot offers a range of beers, liquors, wines and food options. The vibe is casual and relaxed if your looking for an after work break this might just do the trick. The bartenders are always friendly and prompt, the great service always makes for a better experience. I enjoyed a perfectly poured glass of Guinness. The prices and very fair and better then most places in the immediate area. Lots of seating options at the bar or at the booths and tables off to the side. If your into sports, they also have several TVs. I plan on coming back here every so often.

My company held an event at The Irish American Pub yesterday for the opening of the March Madness games. They were so accommodating and easy to work with. Maura is one of a kind and our event would not had been as great as it was without her. From the moment I reached out to the end of our event, Maura made sure everything was perfect. I highly recommend this venue and working with Maura to anyone considering doing an event.

A cool little subterranean gastropub in Fidi. Ironically I did not have any drinks while I was there because I was just looking for the closest spot serving bar food as I was craving guilty pleasure dishes. This is a no frills place, no overembellished names for dishes, everything is straightforward and delivered exactly as promised. The sliders were delicious, fries crispy and hot, and the chicken quesadillas could've been a bit warmer but can't complain too much. I wish that they offered some variety in sauces, horseradish or spicy mustard would've been great in my opinion. The server was just ending her shift as I entered and I felt that she was in a big hurry because my check came out before I even got all of my food.

I had a fun time going there with a friend on a Friday night. Food came out fast and was very tasty. But I especially appreciated the friendly waitstaff. My friend does not drink often so when she does, she gets drunk quickly and as a result is often afraid to order drinks when we go out. But we were celebrating one of her academic accomplishments that evening and she REALLY wanted a drink, so when she asked the waiter if he had anything sweet with only a little bit of alcohol he asked, "Do you like coconut?" She said yes, and he said, "Ok, I'll make you something special with coconut that will taste great and won't get you drunk." We don't know what he ended up making, but my friend said it was delicious. She was able to drink the whole thing and not feel drunk. I really appreciated that extra kindness.

We enjoyed ourselves, the food and or course Miss Maire, our Queen, was and has always treated our group with appreciation, respect and kindness!!! WE LOVE THE IRISH AMERICAN PUB!!!

Wherever I go, I love to visit an Irish pub. I found this gem by chance. The atmosphere is really cool. You walk down into a basement type pub. The Liverpool game was playing so the energy was amazing. Our table ordered the chicken pot pie and fish and chips. Both were AMAZING. Sometimes fish and chips can be too greasy but this we perfect. We obviously had a pint of guiness and that was lovely too. Do yourself a favor and order a pitcher of beer as the prices are great. Our server was wonderful and brought my son over a basket of fries in celebration of his 12th birthday. I will definitely come back here in my next visit.

Super fun bar to go after work. Staff is great and service is good. Classic and solid bar food.

Super cool bar where you have to walk downstairs into a cozy, basement type setting. The bartenders are very playful and fun so if you're not familiar with irish social settings, you may be in for a little culture shock.. they aren't mean on purpose they are just short. at the end of the stay you're basically best friends. got a shot from an anonymous patron at the bar but just drank a diet coke. super friendly atmosphere! got the classic fish and chips. the fries are fresh and crispy and the fish is plentiful and goes well either with tarter sauce or malt vinegar fun place for a lunch meal or after work hours. get the wings too with the garlic sauce. YUM!

I came here on a Friday afternoon for lunch with my boyfriend. There were plenty of tables and we were seated right away. I ordered the buffalo chicken salad, which was on the specials menu. The salad had blue cheese crumbles and came with ranch dressing, which was very good. The chicken fingers on top left something to be desired. My boyfriend ordered the Glen sandwich, which came with chicken, roasted red pepper, mozzarella, and pesto mayonnaise. I thought his meal was better. The service was good; we had two waiters that checked in on us multiple times. It was slightly excessive, but better than being forgotten about.

My first experience was amazing. Shout out to my bartender Babu. He started as my bartender now he's my friend an amazing worker and a great person. The rest of the staff were so welcoming and attentive. The drinks were on point from the whiskey on the rocks to the cocktails. The chicken pot pie was as so fresh and delicious. This is my new spot and I will be telling all my friends. Come check it out.

Always been solid solid player and neighborhood go to great place. Wonderful people on top of that fantastic you were looking for the old school downtown. Believe you found it on John Street old school day.

Have come here for work parties and their sevice is great. Servers come around often to make sure everyone is holding a drink and/or eating food. Their Guinness is excellent - the best in the area.

Brunch here is superb and the drinks and service were top notch. The atmosphere is inviting and leans toward the Irish decor of course. The noise level was adequate- not too loud. We did not eat here so ai cannot comment on the food

Had a great time here visiting NYC. The female bartender Niamh (sp?) was awesome. She made some great cocktails off their menu and helped with some other recommendations for us out-of-towners. Everyone else we interacted with was great as well. Will be back for sure!

My friends and I just went there to watch the fight with Crawford and Spence! It's a cool little Irish pub bar exactly what you're going to expect from an irish pub! Drinks are strong and great vibes and a lot of drunk folks and cool place to watch sports

There is plenty of room, the food is good, far above what you'd expect in an average bar, and the beer is cheap. The only problem was that it took a bit long to get our order in, and to pay our bill.

Fabulous. Bartender Babu was absolutely the best. Looking forward to going back. French onion soup was the best I've ever had.

Now this is a good solid "Go-To" Irish pub. It's near my office at 3WTC and it's great for bringing the crew for beers and burgers, apps, etc. Nice big space downstairs with an assortment of seating options. There's even a pool table room. There are a few hidden rooms down there. You think you are done, you open up a door and oh look, there's more places to sit over here. Went here twice in one week, two weeks ago. Apps, lots of fried stuff, but hey, it's a pub. Calamari was good and so were the fried pickles. Beer menu on point. There's not a ton down there in the finance district, so this is a nice, casual, place for team drinks and such.

This was an amazing pub to visit during my stay , at the millennium downtown hotel Off church street . It was literally 4 minutes away and they open at 10am . I had the steak ,potatoes and bacon, lots of screwdrivers. They have a jukebox , so I played many songs . As a NY resident , this was a great gem to find .

Came here to watch the Baylor vs UT Austin game, at first it wasn't showing on any of the Tvs but the staff was accommodating and put it on one of the tvs for us. Burger wasn't anything special -patty was kind of dry. However, the mojito was delicious! One of the better ones ive had in the city.

Overall - I'd come again for an easy meal and a strong drink. Disclaimer: I went at 9pm on a Thursday. The vibe is probably different during the daytime. It might be a bit less barlike in the daytime but at night, it's going to be loud and busy. With that in mind, I really enjoyed coming here. I was desperate for a decent burger at 9pm on a Thursday after a work happy hour. I've walked passed this place a million times and decided to wander in. At least at the time I went, you had to show ID to get into the bar area. I sat at the bar and waited for the bartender to have a momentary break. They were very busy but he was still very nice. Drinks: I had their Tequila Mockingbird and their rum and coke. The drinks in general are strong. If you're not trying to feel it the next day, maybe ask for light pours. The first was good - not an award winning gourmet cocktail but pleasant. I like tequila so I enjoyed it. The rum and cokes were cheap ($8) for NYC and they were also pretty strong. Good deal if you're on a mission. Food: I got a plain burger with mozzarella, lettuce, and tomato. I ordered it with Mayo as well but I think they forgot or it was just hard to hear at the bar. The burger was juicy enough that I actually didn't miss it. Overall, a very good burger. It was clearly hot and freshly made. Seemed like they actually form their patties which is nice. The bun was soft and a bit sweet which complimented the burger well. The fries were also hot and really good. I don't think they're homemade because they looked very uniform but they tasted great, we're crispy outside, soft inside, and very very hot when they came out. Overall, a solid dinner.

This was our first visit and we were satisfied. We really enjoyed our meals. It was very flavorful and the price wasn't bad. At the time we went, it wasn't crowded but more people were flowing in. It is large enough to hold quite a few people. It has a pool table should anyone want to use it. It also has televisions for sports. We didn't have any complaints during our stay and we do recommend this place to others looking for a nice establishment.

Came here and didn't have the highest hopes. Figured standard Irish bar fare and assumed about a 7/10. Was very impressed with the servers. They worked well together and made sure you always had what you needed. Drinks were good. Wings better than average and everyone enjoyed their meals. I would return. Also seems like they have some great spaces for after work private happy hours. If we can ever get together in person again.

I love this bar definitely love the upgrade from the old bar. Drinks are good food is even better I love the lamb lollipops always hit I had 2 orders don't judge me lol with truffle fries!!!! The service was great at the bar I can't remember the girls name but it stared with an N and she was from Ireland She was awesome. I didn't get any pics that's how hungry I was. But definitely will be coming back soon.

**High rating even though I am looking for a response back from the Owner/Managing Director whomever!** I frequent this bar with my friends and my guy literally, weekly! Love that they serve good food and pretty late at night and that the drinks are strong and Expresso Martinis are the cherry on top! Im a Director at my job and was even scouting this place for my company's New Year 80 person holiday party. **definitely not happening now** Now this review is not about the ambiance, food, drinks, service but about the "bouncer" security guard, whomever that was working there this past Tuesday, December 12th between 10pm and closing. I was having a good time - was actually working at the bar on my laptop for quite some time. Chatting with the bartender and just enjoying the vibes as usual. It's getting close to closing time and I was upset about something unrelated that was going on in my group chat so I TOTALLY lost track of time and somehow last call was being announced. Whoops! After settling my $150 tab, and getting ready to head out because this place was closing- I went to use the bathroom. Now I need to know what prompted the bouncer, security guard, whatever to F-O-L-L-O-W me to the bathroom. I can hear my guy outside the restroom also so I open the door and he's standing there along with the bouncer. Why? Kind of bizarre, and a little intrusive. So my guy comments something like, "why you standing out here, she's just using the bathroom" visibly upset because again, why are you following women to the bathroom? I get that you're closing but I can't use it before heading home and running up a $150 tab when I was just here 3 days prior to that and spent $145 and 7 days before that spending another $100+?? Like, how long does it really take to use the bathroom - 2 mins? He needed to calm down. I wasn't sick, or doing drugs or something crazy in there so totally didn't understand why the bouncer, security guard was being aggressive. I've been here with patrons fighting, girls vomiting in the stalls, even seen a guy vomit all over their outdoor dining area then come back and pick a fight with a stranger! But not ME! Now I'm not just going to let someone invade my privacy like that so of course, I'm going to comment. Something along the lines of, "you're harassing us- of course do that to the black people in here" (bouncer security is also black to add) after said comments the bouncer security guard literally starts taking pictures and videos of me on his private cell phone. I posed for a pic! I was the most BIZARRE and aggressive encounter. Perhaps the, as he put it, "warm" beer bottles being consumed by this individual added to his aggression but it was the most unprofessional and lack of decorum by an individual that I've experienced. Reason I mentioned that he was harassing the black ppl is because you think this Black security guard would have taken videos and pictures of a blonde woman in his person cell phone? Tuh! *side eye* Now I'm still here because I'm literally trying to TIP my bartender in cash all while going back and forth with this bouncer whilst being videotaped and harassed. Luckily Collin was there to deescalate the situation but can you believe 2 officers arrive! The officers are literally looking at me, my guy and someone else that was still there like "why are we here??" There is no situation, no grounds for any arrest, the officers could clearly tell that we were upset because we were the ones being harassed!!! The officers literally left after a 3 minute encounter because for the 100th time- I went to use the bathroom after last call was announced- and wasn't DOING ANYTHING in that establishment. If you've made it this far in my essay- to sum it all up, make sure you don't stay until closing because as a women you'll be followed to the back bathroom, taped and photographed in someone's private cell phone and get the police called on you! : ) yay!
