What a clever addition to the Hartsdale scene, community and village. The Irish Bank is tucked away in Hartsdale, NOT on Central Avenue's madness.
So we decided to go on a whim. Place was freaking packed! Main level has nice booths, smaller tables and the bar off to your right, that was popping. And what a lively Pub it was. Do make reservations as The Irish Bank, gets downright busy. Theresa {owner and hostess} accommodated us upstairs, which was perfectly fine. Upper level is furnished with a full bar, basic dining tables and high tables and chairs, while the center of the upper level grabs you with an eye-catching opening, overlooking downstairs.
The Irish Bank has been in business for the last several weeks- so menu is short, (extended version to come) lending itself to straightforward staples: Beer-Battered Cod- had the best and lightest crunch, Steak sandwiches and Shepherd's Pie. Settled for a unique combination of Raspberry and Jalapeño Martini. Boy... Just that one cocktail, was probably the only one I needed and maybe made up for the 2 or 3 more cocktails that I didn't have. Drink was strong! Mr. Irish Bartender, had an awesome hand with the pour- for sure!
Hands down, The Irish Bank is solid in the Hartsdale sector. It's a friendly and happy place with good service, though I felt it was tad disjointed. Give it a few more weeks, months and years and service will be magnified, as soon as they get themselves fully set. I really do think, that the golden nugget of their secret will lie on the fact that Hartsdale Ave., was in dire need of a restaurant such as The Irish Bank.
