"A great North Dallas option for St. Pat’s revelers, the Irishman Pub offers corned beef and cabbage, Shepherd’s pie, bangers and mash, fish and chips, and all manner of American pub fare, like chicken wings and burgers. It’s a sports bar with Irish inclinations, so expect four-leaf clover art and loads of TV screens. On occasion, it hosts live music from singer/songwriters." - Courtney E. Smith, Alaena Hostetter

What a gem! We really enjoyed the vibe of this place. The fish and chips was the best in DFW according to my husband who has literally tried them everywhere in the metroplex in search of the “the one”. Happy hour prices were fantastic and the service (Jessica) was TOP TIER! Also the 🍋 drop shots were by far the best I’ve had in a very long time! We will def be back.

Awesome list of draft beer and imported bottles. Customer service is always great. Good food menu as well. Bartender acknowledged and served us immediately at the bar.

We miss Trinity Hall and trying to find that experience again. Typical bar food. We had a sample appetizer platter, $18. Chicken wings, pretzel bites, two types of sandwich themed egg rolls (corned beef and Philly cheesesteak), cheese sticks. Pool tables and touchscreen slot machines. Solid Local Craft Beer Selection. Super friendly, helpful staff. Only one bartender when we visited, but she took care of everyone. Covered patio, ashtrays on all outside tables. Bonus: They participate in the AA Advantage Dining Program. Found out when the email came in asking for a review. Would go back and happy to recommend.

I visited the bar last night around 7 PM and took a seat at the bar. After waiting for about seven minutes without being acknowledged, the patron next to me suggested I wave someone down, which felt unnecessary since other customers were being served promptly. After eight minutes, I finally called out to Jameson for a drink, to which he responded curtly, asking me to wait. This lack of courtesy was evident to the patron beside me, who also noticed the disparity in service. When Jameson finally took my order, I received the wrong beer and had to wait again for a correction. It was disheartening to observe that both the patron next to me and I, being of different ethnic backgrounds, seemed to receive less attention than others. Whenever the patron attempted to flag Jameson down for assistance, he would walk past without acknowledging him. Even when the patron requested a shot for me, Jameson merely gestured for him to wait while continuing to walk away, failing to ask what I wanted. When he returned, he assumed my drink preferences without consulting me, leading to a situation where I had to remove unwanted salt and lime from my drink, despite my known allergy to lime. Frustrated by the service, we eventually turned to an Asian woman who was more attentive, and she took care of us for the remainder of the evening. After a nearly $100 tab, we felt no inclination to tip Jameson generously, as our positive experience was solely due to the woman who assisted us. Jameson’s service needs significant improvement.

The Irishman Pub is a cozy and inviting spot that captures the essence of an authentic Irish pub experience. The menu features hearty and delicious pub fare, from classic fish and chips to savory shepherd's pie, as well as a variety of appetizers and flavorful sandwiches. The drink selection is impressive, with a great assortment of beers, whiskeys, and craft cocktails to enjoy. The atmosphere is friendly and lively, with a great mix of locals and visitors, making it an excellent place for both casual drinks and a full meal. The service is attentive, and the overall vibe is warm and welcoming. Highly recommended for a great time with good food and drinks!

Google
Horrible service. The place was about 70% full and only 2 people helping at the bar. I stood there for 15 minutes without bring acknowledged, intentionally not looking at me. For God’s sake, at least say I’ll be with you soon as I can. When I finally spoke up, their reaction was very dismissive… like if I left, that’s less they have to deal with. Will NEVER go back Also had the stomach of cigarette smoke

This place had a bit of a dive bar, feeling to it, while being in kind of a strip mall in the suburbs. They had two bartenders, working the restaurant on a Monday, which is all day happy hour. We got an Irish Mule (not my fave) and Guinness to drink. The pretzels were $5 on Mondays and were great. They have daily specials for food. I’m usually more of a mustard versus cheese person, but their cheese was phenomenal. My friends got a burger and fries and a club with sweet potato fries. We brought our computers to book. Some travel plans, and their Wi-Fi wasn’t ideal, but this seems more like a bar for regulars to come and play pool.

Google
Ok y’all! Seriously this PUB is the bomb! We got the Fish and Chips. Cod was amazing. I am not a high fan of dark beers, but Jessica aka the bartender knew her stuff and recommended a light blond that blew me out of the water! It was light and fresh without a weird after taste; Smithwicks. The staff was ON POINT and I give this place on a laidback vibe to chill on a Saturday afternoon 5/5 stars! They don’t disappoint!

Yelp
Bar was busy for a Monday evening. Jerry was running like a mad-man; service was not an issue! Let's start with the Moscow Mule and dirty Grey Goose martini - both were excellent. I think I liked the prices of their drinks almost as much as I liked the drink itself. The food - everything was delicious, from the Sampler Platter to the Fish & Chips, Burger to my favorite, the Monte Cristo. Prices were decent. I've been looking for a quaint little bar and this fit the bill and it's close to work. Good place to pop in for lunch or after for a drink.

Michael S.

Yelp
Took a few minutes to get a server's attention but it was understandable since it was mid-NBA Finals game and they were packed. Once served, it was pleasant to be introduced by name from the bartender and the drinks were good and reasonably priced. Got the Bangers and Mash for dinner and it was delicious! Great atmosphere, especially since it's in a strip mall, you don't get that feel. It's open, spacious and very friendly. The locals at the bar top welcomed me as a first timer and chatted casually. I'll definitely be back!

Jim S.

Yelp
Really like this place. Great beer selection and the fish and chips are awesome. My favorite is the Rueben Rolls and the fish tacos. It is a true pub environment.

Denise H.

Yelp
Irish Dive Bar all the way! I loved the atmosphere it's cozy, warm, and welcoming. We arrived on a soccer Sunday so the place was packed and lively but it did not deter us away. They have an extensive beer/cocktail list so finding your drink here will not be hard and with reasonable prices too! I ordered a hearty Shepard pie, and I was so happy with how well-seasoned the beef was and how great all of the ingredients were mashed together. My partner ordered the corned beef and cabbage entree, and we were both pleasantly surprised how the corn beef was almost brisket made and the sautéed cabbage was a perfect side. The added potatoes and horseradish sauce was just additional pluses to the plate. We were happy with the cost, quality, and quantity of everything we ordered. I think we found our next favorite pub!

Matt P.

Yelp
Dive bars, no matter which city you're in, make the perfect space to catch up with old friends. They had a pretty choice selection of local brews, which have been great to try as the non-Texan in the group. If the weather's cool enough, make you're way out to the outside area which makes for an easygoing hang during the evening summers.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
The food and service were great! Every year my dad and I take a pause from the holiday craziness to enjoy a pint of beer and some good pub food. The fish and chips were great!!! Light and crispy! The service was also great! We came for lunch so the crowd was light. Another great spot for our annual tradition!

Lex B.

Yelp
Very laid back, authentic feel in this pub. A little hint of a sports bar vibe. Highly recommend.

Fish V.

Yelp
If you are a sports bar you should televise all major sporting events 100%. Sound and all. Lame excuse: of regulars playing jukebox. Whatever. Even the regulars will understand a World Cup is on TV once every 4 years. If you don't understand it you are not a regular. Management / bartenders 0 trying or even let me ask. Simple: "I am in charge and that is what's happening" I don't leave around the corner anymore, but often come back to the area and do have a few drinks. Other good places in the area are Lekka, or Deli news. Remember, that service and hospitality are different things. So with 4 star service and 0 stars for hospitality. Cheers! Don't come here for soccer you get a Juke box. I hope someone reads it and will have a sound on for USA game tomorrow. Maybe just Super Bowl gets lucky. So sad!

Saul M.

Yelp
Unhappy staff. Poor service. Hard to get a drink..or food ordered. Have to chase the staff for help. Smells like rotten beer lines. Don't recommend.

Jim S.

Yelp
Good first impression upon a recent first visit. Kinda on the dark side because everything is dark mahogany wood, but that's very traditional and kind of cool. Friendly staff, outdoor seating (enclosed) for smokers, and a good sound system. They even have a neat sofa-filled alcove for watching games on one of their big-screen TVs. At the risk of sounding gender-biased (but who cares), it's also worth pointing out in the evenings it's usually male bartenders. Not that there's anything wrong with females, but most the other sports bars in this area are 100% female, so it's kind of a refreshing change. Good selection of craft beers, interesting menu (they actually have a Rueben sandwich), and Happy hour is 2-7pm with dollar off well drinks. Great first visit. The satellite channel delivering music was a good mix of hits from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, and locals have some good taste in music as well. Lastly, it's the Preston Road area in this part of North Dallas so attracts a more upscale clientele than most other sports bars in the area. I like it.

Yelp
This place deserves more than five stars, because the people here are angels. I've never been to a place where people look out for each other more (phones, purses, wallets, and drinks all looked out for) and the staff here is top notch! You can't get better than here. Are you ready to be surrounded by the best? I love it here!!! They also have games, pool tables, food, tv screens and employees that are just the best of the best. I'll be here every time I want to have a good time. I'd say the employees that I love, it's all of them!!! Such a great time had every time here!!

Shawn C.

Yelp
Everything was great service was amazing and ambiance was amazing love the amount of Guinness merch and beer posters

Pat K.

Yelp
A good selection of beers and a nice selection of meals for your pleasure. Friendly service

Gaby D.

Yelp
Great vibes felt like I was at Patty's Pub from Its Always Sunny!!!!!!! Definitely coming back for the Mac N Cheese Balls

Subho B.

Yelp
Fun experience. Although not much crowded, even on a Saturday evening. I would recommend the fries, and the bar had a nice collection too

Hugh J.

Yelp
We walked in and the waitstaff looked at us. None never smiled, so we seated ourselves and finally had to go to the bartender to ask for a menu. She was so rude! We left, in addition the place looked dirty, smelled disgusting like cig smoke. Too many places in Dallas/Plano area that are friendly, clean and the staff is good. Thought this being a locally owned pub it would be top notch, not anywhere close. Don't waste your time, go down the road, plenty of places on Preston.

Kenyale M.

Yelp
0/10. My boyfriend and I live around the corner, within walking distance. This is our 2nd time giving this bar a chance. Walked in one night, literally no one in the bar and bartender never came to us. Walked in there tonight, NO ONE at the bar, people outside, my boyfriend asks the bartender a question and he just walks right passed us. LIKE OKAY. GOOD JOB GUYS.

Eric F.

Yelp
Went there for St Pattys day. We had the cheesecake and pretzel - can't wait to come back!

Geoffrey H.

Yelp
Great low key irish pub. Mostly regulars and industry, which is a good sign. What surprised me was how cheap yet how good the food and drinks are. They have a special every day and the pretzel and the mini burgers are delicious. I recommend the pretzel with the mustard they make in house. Crazy good. The bar staff is always nice and funny. One of the only true bars in the area and it's definitely worth going to.

Steve B.

Yelp
So it's St Patrick's Day but been coming here for over 8 years and I think this is the 3rd owners. Worst service and could not order food for probably 30 minutes. Did get our drinks from the bar. Unfortunately left to find some food and probably will not be back.

William M.

Yelp
We ordered for pickup and the food was ready when we got there. The Shepherds Pie was delicious, and the Reuben Sandwich spring rolls surprisingly good. We'll be back.

Rachel G.

Yelp
Come here if you want to be over-served by bartenders with little to no standards! Bartenders at Irish fail to observe signs of SEVERE intoxication and will continue to serve in order to get tips. On Friday 12/10, my husband visited the establishment (I was not with him) and ended up VERY wasted. He decided to drive after throwing up in their parking lot and stumbled immediately after getting out of his car at home. Yes, there are several issues with my statement but I'm writing this as a warning to future patrons and also the bartenders/owners at this location. YOU have a responsibility to cut someone off when they show signs of intoxication; you clearly violate the TABC rules in the State of Texas by continuing to serve. I'd like to also remind you that in the event that something happens with one of your customers being over served and causing an accident on the way home is a great way to either get sued or a huge fine that can put you out of business. A great example is the mass murder in 2017 in Plano, when The Local Public House Bar over served a patron who was clearly highly intoxicated and later killed 8 people. The bar and bartender were sued by a surviving victim and awarded over $17 million in damages. Same rule can easily apply to a car accident caused by an intoxicated driver who just left your establishment. If your bartenders are concerned over an extra $5-20 tip, maybe they should at least offer to call a cab instead of letting people continue to drink and drive. Again, I know there's failed responsibility on his end--but this is a business who serves many customers daily and putting many individuals at risk but FAILING TO COMPLY with TABC regulations.

Rick R.

Yelp
Bangers and mash proceeded by a good cold beer and a pretzel; you just can't go wrong.

Soham R.

Yelp
Had the bar pretzel - it was very salty and somewhat overpriced. The caesar salad was ok.

Aldo Q.

Yelp
We've driven by The Irishman Pub a thousand times. Since it was called The Staggering Irishman as a matter of fact. So we decided to go today to watch the Arsenal game and have late breakfast (I don't like the word Brunch, but that's another story). Great food, great service and very cool place. We need to come back at night for sure. I ordered the Irish Poached Eggs and the were spectacular. Also I tried the NY-style Hot Dog and it was also very good. I think the hot dog was a special thing because of the NFL games. We will include this pub in the rotation for sure!

Fred H.

Yelp
This is a combination of 2 visits. This first time was a 5 star experience. We went on a week night. I had the Texas Chessesteak sandwich and my wife had the Turkey BLT. Both were great, especially the Cheesesteak. We talked to the waiter about visiting on a Saturday morning and catching a soccer game. We went last night (Friday) and left after 10 minutes so a 1 star rating. We sat at a table and no one came to serve us. The place was not that crowded so it was easy to tell we were newly arrived customers. Finally, I went up to the bar to order drinks and some food. I was never approached and somewhat avoided. I know we are not "regulars" to the place but it never felt like we were welcomed.

Heather D.

Yelp
Every time we go here, busy or slow, the bartenders are fantastic, drinks and food are good and the atmosphere is exactly what we're looking to find.

Judith D.

Yelp
If you are tired of getting dried up limes for your vodka and soda this is the place to go. They have the juiciest limes anywhere!!

Scott W.

Yelp
The Irishman pub. What a great little neighborhood bar with a sort of East Coast feel. All the bartenders and staff are super friendly and attentive and the food is awesome. I was told to try their shepherd's pie and was not disappointed

Alex L.

Yelp
When the sun goes down trouble has been known to lurk in and around the parking lot. I don't recall this area ever being questionable. Then again I have been away for quite some time to learn that even Frankford and Midway / Trinity Mills and Midway have turned on its head. Service is wonderful and food is pretty good. The Irishman Pub is a divey place for you and your friends to hang out and take spirited jabs at each other. Drink selection is on point and spirits are always generously poured. I would come back again maybe for happy hour. After the last couple visits in town, it seems as though some employees have beef with certain customers or vice versa so I'll stay way from any late night visit.

Jeff P.

Yelp
Let me start by saying the service here is really good. I've had Haley twice now and she is so nice and attentive. So FIVE STARS for the staff The food is another story: The hot dog (no longer available) is incredible. It's a solid dog with everything you need for fixins. I a mshocked they took it off the menu. The fish and chips are awful. Fish is soggy and over cooked, I am pretty sure there is nothing hand battered. NO TASTE. The french fries that came with were just plain ol' french fries. Nothing special. The Mac and Cheese donuts are flavorless. There is nothing to them. The panko and cooking are perfection. Nice and crispy. You really think you're going to bite into something awesome and bam, NOTHING...Not one flavor. No Salt, No Pepper, No cheese...Fried pasta is the flavor and it sucks. If it weren't for the good beer selection and good service I'd probably no go back.

Jeff Z.

Yelp
First time was today and it was like walking into a medieval dungeon. Since there was no hostess we seated our selves and after trying three completely wobbly tables we had to settle for the least wobbly table. A short five minutes later the unprofessionally dressed bartender attempted to take out order and she had a limited knowledge of beer other than to let us know that they were out of Harp Beer, one of the reasons we went there. In her defense she did get our questions answered but seemed highly disinterested in serving us. The bar seemed crowded with serious drinkers so if that's your scene this place may be for you. We left without ordering as the place was depressing.

Remmy Taven T.

Yelp
Where to begin! This pub is totally the spot for fairly priced cocktails, massive draft and bottle beer selections, and not to forget all the whiskey you can drink! If you look at the photos I've attached, the pub pretzels are HUGE and served with an in house made Guinness cheese sauce and the baileys Irish cream cheese cake is an absolute MUST (ALSO made in house!!). Clemy, the bartender who is here Monday-Wednesday is super super nice, attentive, sweet and knows exactly what you're drinkin' the minute you come in the door. They have 3.50$ drafts all day EVERYDAY and 3$ whiskeys on Wednesdays! Pool tables, awesome pub food, bartenders that know your name AND your drink, TV's galore, patio area, bar area, lounge area! This place is the go-to spot for Irish/pub fare and strong drinks!

Paul D.

Yelp
Everything was great!!! Patrick, the bartender/waiter, was excellent. He knew every item we asked about, giving his opinion. The Reuben and the Fish and Chips were outstanding, the beer and cider options were eztensive and... The Baileys Irish Cream Cheesecake was the most incredible dessert I've ever had!!! We will definitely be back for more

Claudia A.

Yelp
The food was great. We picked up food to go and the bartenders were wearing masks, one of them wasn't wearing it properly. They were kind of rude over the phone but hey it's a bar, right? the people at the bar weren't wearing masks, but they were seated soo ... I guess that's ok.

Melissa C.

Yelp
Found this great little pub. Didn't know it was so big inside. Has a ton of beers on tap. A nice outside patio. Pool tables. Really enjoyed hanging out.

Michelle B.

Yelp
Being in the SI it is my stop off on the way home , Patrick , Matt and Jerry are awesome,

Margaret M.

Yelp
The service was very good and the place is excellent for watching sports. Can't tell you anything about the food. However, the ladies' room (and I am told the men's room) could use some maintenance. I do not understand why bars continually fail to keep the ladies' room clean, since women do care about this, and bars do better if they attract women.

Ashley B.

Yelp
First time visiting the pub and it will not be the last. First let me tell you how amazing the bartender was. Brittany was very attentive and knew everyone! She made us feel right at home and suggested two tasty beers from the tap. We shared a Ruben which was the best Ruben we've ever had. Looking forward to returning to try the $8 cheeseburger!

Nicholas K.

Yelp
The Mac-n-Cheese balls are delicious! I will definitely be ordering from here again in the future. The desserts were pretty tasty as well, an overall delicious experience.

Melissa M.

Yelp
Jerry is awesome & very attentive. The food was great. We will be returning! Very welcoming environment.

Daniel K.

Yelp
This is a very good place to go for an ice cold brew and some pub grub. Their hamburger is superb, the fries that come with it a really great too. Bartenders/wait staff are all friendly and helpful, their juke box has an extensive availability of songs.

Lori W.

Yelp
What the heck! Stopped in for drinks with friends and some great music was playing. Not too loud, just the right volume, good tunes and we could still talk. Then a couple of Texas Tech fans come in and the music is turned off and the volume for the game is turned up LOUD! We couldn't even talk any more....so we left.

Louis R.

Yelp
Loved this place when it was Staggering Irishman. When it closed I was bummed but decided to give the new place a chance when it opened under new ownership. First couple of times I liked it fine. Prices were much higher but I expected that to be the case. Since then the service has gone down hill and the last two times the bartender tried to overcharge me for our drinks. The first time they charged me $10 for the $8 menu listed "Bold Fashioned" and the second time they did the exact same thing plus didn't give me the discounts for happy hour that they had just finished saying was all day Monday. When I pointed it out the guy gave me some run around about it being taken off the drink prices but only one price was lower than the menu listing and they still overcharged me $2 each on my bold fashions. Rather than going nuclear on these cheats I just said F it and paid for the last check I'll ever have at this place. Sad times when you lose a solid neighborhood bar where you've had good times but if they're going to be flat out crooked then what can you do...

Andrew B.

Yelp
Clean, spacious, and well-kept. Perhaps a good place to meet friends. Lots of taps, enticing specials, and adequate bar fare. Our service experience, however, left much to be desired. The man and women helping us seemed to mean well but the wait for our food and drinks were unacceptable. We had to remind several times what we has ordered, and even when it arrived had to walk up to the bar for plates and forks and napkins. This place has potential but will probably sit at the bar next time.

Cara L.

Yelp
"The Irishman Pub" is me and the hubs date night place. Super close to our house, we play some pool, drink a couple beers, and sometimes watch the game in their designated "living room" area. We love it! We don't normally eat here often but when we do, it's always good. We are always waited on by Dave and he's the best! Great service, super knowledgeable about beer, and an all around nice guy. It's just a perfect "home" pub and we're so happy we finally gave it a shot!

Summer S.

Yelp
I seriously love their Chicken & Waffles, Salmon, Potato Leek Soup, every salad, actually I have enjoyed everything & love getting great quality food late night!!!

Kari S.

Yelp
*Edit* I loved that first order so much that I have ordered it two times since. Last week, it was just okay... the corned beef was a bit dry and the cabbage was close to non existent. This week, I remained hopeful and tried it again, because everyone has off days, right? Well, tonights order was the absolute worst. The corned beef is both dry and tough- similar to beef jerky. It appears to be microwaved. I will not be ordering from here again. *end edit* Original review: Fantastic corned beef and cabbage dish! I ordered dinner from DoorDash and wasn't sure what to expect, but the meal was amazing. Perfectly seasoned and prepared. I look forward to visiting The Irishman in person soon.

Yelp
After having lunch elsewhere, on our drive home we noticed this newish spot and decided to drop in for a brew or two. A friend had recently visited IP and indicated that it was somewhere we would probably enjoy. And, we did. We grabbed two seats at our usual preferred seating at the bar. There has been an extensive renovation of the former space; lovely large bar, dark polished wood, comfy couch seating in the back; high top tables and billiard tables in this large bar/restaurant, with many flat screen TV's scattered throughout. We were greeted by a friendly and smiling Kent, who promptly delivered our drinks and gave us a little history on the space. This new resurrected venture has been open about 3 weeks. Over $150,000 was spent to update the space to a more upscale environment. There appears to have been some family issues that split up the former ownership between two brothers, now each with their own business. (Another staffer stated that it was a husband/wife previous ownership, so unsure of which version is the actual) It was not busy on an early Sunday afternoon, but obviously well staffed to handle an influx of patrons. Service by Kent was attentive with our drinks being refilled promptly. Drink prices were comparable to other types of places of this nature...$3.50 Miller Lite, and $7 Pinot Grigio. We perused the menu and noted that we'd have to make a return visit to check out some appealing items. Most reviews here are very complimentary of the choice of foods, quality and preparation. So, happy to add the IP to our gotta-go-back soon list! 4 stars for a great first impression!
