The Ivy Room At Tree Studios

As a wedding photographer, I always love working at The Ivy Room at Tree Studios. The outdoor ceremony space is such a standout. The ivy-covered wall creates a beautiful, natural backdrop that feels tucked away in the middle of the city. It’s intimate, classic, and photographs incredibly well without needing much added décor. There are also plenty of cool spots around the property for portraits, which makes it easy to create a diverse gallery without ever leaving the venue. It’s a great choice for couples who want an outdoor feel with lots of character.

I recently hosted an event here and I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this venue. The staff were so friendly and helpful! The event team was incredibly patient with my department and easy to work with! I have never had such a breezy experience. The venue was stunning and the food was some of the best I’ve had at a venue! Highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a place to host any kind of event.

Beautiful private venue and warm staff Our wedding on 7/11 was held in this beautiful haven of ivy. The venue is situated in the heart of River North, with many hotels and stores around. It’s in proximity to the Grand red line and many forms of transportation. Our guests came from all over and they loved the accessibility. While it’s in the middle of noisy Chicago, when you’re in the venue, you can’t hear the external city sounds. The venue has three separate areas for your guests to mingle and a wonderful bridal suite if you need a respite once in a while, like me and my husband did. We had a wonderful ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and dance party that ran super smooth all thanks and credit due to Pam, the chef’s creative and delicious creations, and the lovely and friendly staff! I appreciated their support and approach so much. I really felt like they were there alongside us the whole time and were timely with communication and planning. Even so gracious as to accommodate some urgent last minute changes. We couldn’t have had it so well without the venue’s dedicated input. We are eternally grateful for the memories we were able to make here and for the opportunity to commemorate our life-long commitment in such a lovely green oasis in the city of Chicago. I absolutely enjoy every time I get to photograph a wedding at this venue! It's so uniquely beautiful and the staff are always so lovely to work with. The catering is also SO DELICIOUS! I would highly recommend The Ivy Room if you're considering it for a wedding.

We had our wedding at The Ivy Room and it was absolutely amazing! The space is beautiful, and we loved being able to use both the cocktail area and the reception space. Claudia made everything so easy and truly took care of every detail. The food was incredible, beautifully presented, and our guests couldn’t stop raving about it. We received so many compliments, and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to celebrate our day!

I was an aw the first time I shot a wedding at The Ivy room! The Ivy Room is nestled in the heart of downtown Chicago and hidden from view. The fact that it is hidden in plain sight makes it feel even more magical. Walking into the garden area you feel like you have been transported into another world. The outdoor courtyard with dripping ivy is the perfect spot for an intimate and romantic city wedding ceremony. The head coordinator there was so helpful and was wonderful to work with. She really went above and beyond for my client. The whole staff did really. I would highly recommend this venue for your wedding day.

Our wedding at The Ivy Room was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Claudia (on-site coordinator) was outstanding to work with — so positive, flexible, and always one step ahead, anticipating any potential issues before they arose. The venue itself is simply stunning, with every detail creating a timeless and elegant atmosphere. The entire day ran flawlessly, and we truly could not recommend The Ivy Room enough!

Went to a private event from ezCater here last week. Great space for any of your events. They had a nice Upper Floor Hall that was large and spacious for around 20 different caterers. Downstairs there's the bar and luxurious bathrooms and coat check. Had a great time you should check it out for your next event!

Working with Pam was truly one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. From the very first meeting, she brought a sense of calm, confidence, and genuine care that made the entire planning process feel seamless. Pam has an incredible eye for detail and an innate ability to turn a vision into something even more beautiful than you imagined! She was organized, responsive, and always ten steps ahead, coordinating every vendor flawlessly and ensuring we never had to worry about a thing! On our wedding day, Pam and her team made everything run so smoothly that we were able to be fully present and actually enjoy every moment. Beyond her professionalism, Pam is simply a joy to work with; warm, thoughtful, and deeply invested in making the day special. Our guests are still raving about how perfect everything was, and we owe so much of that to her!!

We came here for an event honoring volunteers and achievements by the Respiratory Health Association. I like the outdoor setup, being cradled and surrounded by ivy walls. I wonder if that's the 'Ivy Room' of the namesake? We grabbed some drinks and enjoyed music, speeches and a special award. It's a nice space with seating, not just wicker chairs either but cushions! There were passed drinks and hor-durves, as well as friendly, helpful bartenders for those wanting beer, water or soda. One of us spilled something on a light-colored jacket, and they came to our rescue with seltzer and wipes. There was also a buffet with Spanish themed food (empanadas, paella) and small bite dessert bar. I asked about what had red meat/pork and thankfully I was dutifully informed. The caterers gave me and my party some leftovers! Not sure what prompted that but we appreciated it(we tipped even on free drinks). The missing star has to do with the wine. It was AWFUL! I tried to break it up with beer, but I got so sick the next day, I had to cancel my evening plans. I probably over indulged, but I have had more wine in one sitting with way fewer side effects. I may just stick with beer next time.

Interesting venue for a group event for about a hundred participants. This is like a small town house. The lower level was used for registration and cocktail hour. The upper level was used for a seated dinner. It all worked well and the food was delicious

What a beautiful and clever idea! My husband's company hosted their holiday dinner here at Tree Studios dining room--complete with a large and beautiful modern kitchen for hired chefs to cook appetizers/dinner right in front of your eyes... I immediately fell in love with the kitchen. Perfect in every way. Adjoining the kitchen, there is also a private dining space. The space is meant for a smaller intimate group of around 20-30 people. I believe a drink package can also be added on, as the holiday gathering had a full bar available to us for the entire night. There were a bunch of other doors leading to similar private dining rooms on our way to our designated room. I also assume these rooms differ in size and are used for other events or occassions? The ideas are limitless. Would highly recommend hosting your next event here.

Attended wedding there and valet took my car and rode around with it, got a parking ticket, that I now have to pay. Wtf

We had out daughter's wedding here on 6/26/21 and the entire process from start to finish was managed by the IVY Room staff. They were very pleasant, fun and professional especially working thru all the various rule changes and covid issues. Every detail was handled by our day of wedding planner from the venue and she was fantastic. We couldn't be happier with the outcome and had many guests remark how great the venue, food and staff were and the service was outstanding! Thanks to everyone at The Ivy Room for making the event so wonderful.

Great venue for an event! My graduate school hosted a "Spring Gala" here. The staff was incredibly friendly, the space was beautiful, and the food was amazing!

Wow just wow. What a fantastic place! The place was really gorgeous with the courtyard that filled with ivy vines. It's really lovely for outdoor weddings. We were here in a mid-April spring snowing wedding. Thankfully, they also offer a very nice layout indoor for receptions and ceremony. Downstairs bar was amazing. I especially appreciate their decor. Modern look but not overdo. Great selections of chairs and lamps. One thing that I was impressed by this place was the services. The staff took note about each guest's dietary and allergy. They made sure that we get to have vegan food and vegan desserts; and our friend who is allergic to alcohol and vinegar could have his own food. They definitely deserve six starts if I could give them. We enjoyed every moment at this place.

Absolutely love this place....so much I got married here. :) If you're getting married or simply hosting an event, this is a hidden gem in a prime location. It's the anti-ballroom. [read: no bad patterned carpeting] Just a simple venue with high ceilings, hardwood floors and huge bay windows that look out into the best part of the venue - the courtyard. The courtyard is delicately covered in ivy (hence, the Ivy Room) and is beautifully manicured. Take note, the courtyard only seats 150, which is a limitation for some if you wish to have your ceremony outdoors. About 200 indoors. Also, Donna and Matt who run the Ivy Room are wonderful to work with!

I recently attended a wedding at The Ivy Room. It is a great venue for a wedding and reception, as the wedding can be upstairs. While the team resets the space, your guests can enjoy a cocktail hour one floor down. Then, when that is over, your reception is ready to start back upstairs. All of the staff that I encountered were professional and polite. The food was very good (we had a filet and vegetables pureed to taste like mashed potatoes). Everything was presented well and at a good temperature. The lines were never long at the bars on either floor. All in all, a great wedding and event space.

Outstanding venue for weddings. I attended a wedding here in mid September, and enjoyed both the outdoor lawn area - adorned with Ivy - and the gorgeously elegant interiors. The staff is extremely courteous, professional, and helpful with the little things (like valet parking info and helping with storage of personal effects through the evening's festivities), and the significant ones (serving of the food and organizing the musicians). In addition to the outdoors, they have 2 levels of indoor space which is well laid out and seems roomy even with 100s of people inside. Everything is smooth, efficient, and tastefully done. Obviously the location is excellent in the heart of the loop. An excellent choice for a wedding celebration. 5 stars!

We just had our wedding here on 5/22/22. Everything was amazing! Natalie is a rockstar! The staff went above and beyond for us and made our day soo special. We couldn't have asked for anything better. All of our guests are still talking about how wonderful everything was.

It's hard to find the words to describe how amazing our wedding was at the Ivy Room on 8/18/18. From the moment we met Chrissy Dwyer and she walked us through the venue we knew it was the one. She worked with us over the first few weeks to ensure we felt comfortable with the contract without making us feel rushed. This was a breath of fresh air compared to other venues who are quick to make one sign. The first few weeks were just the beginning! Chrissy and the rest of the team were so open and flexible with allowing us to bring family and friends by to see the space over the months leading up to the date. We joke that I can still stop by in the future just to check in. Chrissy was there throughout every step, including the tasting (which, by the way, the food is AMAZING), putting together our run of show, having all of our vendors set-up, and so much more. We had no worries going into the day and felt at ease. The day of was unforgettable. Chrissy and the full staff were absolutely amazing. They catered not only to our every need, but also our guests. We had many friends and families tell us that it was not only the best wedding meal they have had, but how great the staff was with their quick service and always asking how they can provide them with whatever they need. One of the few places I have to say is as close to a 5 star venue as you will get. A few things might knock it down a notch, but I came as a guest for a friends wedding and was impressed pretty much all the way through. Venue: It's beautiful, draped with lush green ivy and trees wrapped in lights. It's intimate, so don't expect a large venue. But if the weather is gorgeous for an outdoor wedding, the acoustics still work very well. Inside the decor and lighting are beautiful as well. It's got room for a smal-medium sized band to play. Service: This probably had the best service I've experienced at a venue (which I was here for a wedding). The servers were polite, attentive and helpful all the way through. Food: We had appetizers passed around with an open bar. Their open bar was great! The appetizers were small. Tasty, but they seriously were there to just wet your appetite. I do wish we had gotten more of those. The dinner food was very good. I'd say the chicken we had was a little dry, but the steak was good, the veggies were great, and overall the meat entree dishes were delicious. I barely had a bite of my sister's veggie entree so I can't really give insight to that one. Overall, if this fits your price range, it's a beautiful venue to have an nicely sized yet intimate wedding or event. I would love to come back here again. It's lovely.

Fantastic location for a wedding reception. We have a lovely cocktail outside in the ivy covered brick courtyard. Inside was just as elegant. The food was amazing. The most delicious kale salad (even my husband liked it!) and steak dinner.

I attended a wedding and gave my car to complementary valet parking for wedding guest and got $300 parking ticket. It is very upsetting.

At least 20 different caterers sampling off the Great food hosted by EZ Caters. A convient way to find catering options.

Came here for the American Medical Association awards ceremony. I learned a lot about this place and apparently it's one of the popular wedding destinations in Chicago. From the outside it doesn't look like much. In fact it's just a door in front of a brick building but when you get inside it's spacious and large. There's an outdoor area that's full of gardens (ivy!) where I can picture people getting married and then having the reception there. After we got our drinks on the outside you move back in to a spacious room with a stage. Again, perfect for a dinner party or a wedding reception. I think if you decide to host something here, the chef in charge helps you cook whatever you need. We had short ribs, ravioli or halibut that evening and I'll say that the short ribs were fantastic. Great food in a city where great food is a dime a dozen. Parking is a nuisance but I see people taking ubers/taxis here without any issues.

Came here for an event and I have to say this venue is really spectacular. There was never a wait at the bar, and the wait staff is really professional. The food was (surprisingly because you never know with these things) pretty good! And overall there were no technical issues. All of the rooms are immaculate and the lighting makes them even more beautiful.

another stop along the wedding venue search... Not sure how I came across this place. However they were very responsive when I contacted them via email. The rental fee for a Sunday is $7,500 including use of the outdoor courtyard. We do run a special winter rate from January-April, and during this time the rental fee for Sunday is $5,500. They seat 200 with a dance floor. They do require an exclusive caterer. Which placed them waaay out of my budget... NEWHO ... Ill keep looking.

The gorgeous venue speaks for itself with its soaring high ceilings, beautiful wood floor, lush ivy courtyard, and recessed lighting. It is a perfect blank slate to create your dream wedding. You can easily find pictures of it online, but it's even more beautiful in person. The Ivy Room is a peaceful green oasis in the middle of the hectic city with perfect indoor and outdoor space. However, it was the Abby Carson at the Ivy Room that was the angel that our wedding planning process needed. She was so patient with us throughout multiple venue tours, table and seating arrangements, and throughout our entire planning process. There was never more than a day that went by without her prompt response to our questions. She was always attentive to our needs, responsive to our questions, had an amazing calming presence, coordinated all the vendors perfectly, and even helped me adjust my veil before I walked down the aisle. On the day of the wedding we found the staff was as impeccable as our experience with Abby, from the servers to the security guard. The wedding ran just as we planned, with Abby keeping everything on track and allowing us to finally relax for the first time in months and enjoy our wedding. The food was absolutely delicious, with guests telling us it was the best food they ever had at a wedding! So much credit goes to Abby and the Ivy Room staff for making our wedding the most incredible experience.

My husband and I had a rather long engagement, so we had a bit of time to research wedding venues. When we first started looking, the Ivy Room was one of the most beautiful venues we had seen. We had initially disregarded it because we felt it was out of our budget, and I knew that if i saw the space i would instantly fall in love. When it came to venue shopping, our list of requirements wasn't long: We wanted a unique space that would leave our guests thinking "Wow," we wanted to have an outdoor space for cocktails and it had to be in the city. And while we checked out the Rookery, the Billboard Factory and Cafe Brauer, among others, nothing really spoke to us. A caterer we had spoken to recommended we check out the Ivy Room. My fiancé and I looked at the prices again, and thought "well let's just check it out." Our first visit was with Matt, and he took us around to the courtyard which was beautiful even though the garden wasn't quite bloomed yet. He gave us a tour of the entire space, and instantly, i fell in love. The Ivy Room is a true gem in the heart of downtown, and stands out among other area venues. It's truly a beautiful, unique space and is led by the most amazing coordinator duo: Matt Robinson and Donna Albertson. Without them, our wedding probably would've been a disaster. About 6 weeks before our wedding, we decided to fire our caterer (who btw was not on the Ivy Room's list of approved catering companies...and for good reason) because of issues we were having with them. However, firing them meant we had to essentially replan our wedding since they were taking care of our rentals, flowers and centerpieces in addition to the bar and food. Donna guided me through the entire process, and found me a new caterer (Blue Plate) within days, who was able to work within our preset budget. She offered me referrals for florists, and sat down to help me with floorplans. Just when we thought it couldn't get any worse, rain was in the forecast for our wedding day and only at the time of our ceremony. Donna created a rain-plan ceremony the day before, and her and Matt worked tirelessly with the catering company and florist to create a beautiful indoor ceremony. My fiancé and i were left speechless, not really sure if we had walked into our own wedding. Matt was always in contact with us to let us see events setting up, and was always willing to let me come in whenever i was in the area to show my sister or other family member the space. He is such a sweetheart! While the Ivy Room is a beautiful space, Matt and Donna truly make the Ivy Room the wedding venue of your dreams. They truly care about their clients, and I am so glad we booked the Ivy Room because they are two of the most amazing people ever!

I would not, could not change a thing about my wedding. Our ceremony was at the church, and the reception help at The Ivy Room. Christy B. is the absolute best, and I'm pretty sure she's a mind reader. From the day we met almost a year before to the day of our wedding, she has catered to every single wish and want. She and the Ivy Room team are thorough and helpful. They make sure you have time alone with your new spouse. The space is ridiculously gorgeous, and a true "secret garden" in the middle of our city- I can't tell you how many compliments I received on this alone. Know before you go: You've got to use their vendors. For good reason, sure: their vendors are also the best. However, for this reason, the lovely space is likely out of the price range for many young couples. A cool 10K will get you get space, but catering is roundabout 20K, you must use a designer (not just florist) of their choosing (I think 7K)... it is worth it, but it adds up. Be aware if your budget is strict.

This is a magical place! We were married at The Ivy Room in November and I was completely mesmerized by the beauty and charm of this venue. Donna is so accommodating, she will go to great lengths to make sure your day is nothing short of perfection! Summer Fall Winter or Spring this venue is as beautiful as the changing seasons. If your looking for a venue that can be personal down to the last touch...this is it. There are no two weddings that are the same! The Ivy Room lets your day be uniquely yours! I cant say enough how happy we were and we would not have changed a thing!

Looking for the West Loop Studio equivalent but in the Loop? Look no further ... The Ivy Room is in the heart of downtown Chicago and has a very similar ambiance and decor as West Loop Studio. An added benefit - The Ivy Room has some amazing outdoor space! It has a quaint little garden surrounded by ivy hence "The Ivy Room" ;-) It's a cute little find! I recently came here for an event with a friend and really enjoyed all the open space, wood floors, and modern, simplistic decor.

Planning my wedding from NY, I came to love The Ivy Room via its website after a recommendation from a caterer that had worked in the space before. Throughout my search, I continuously would rate all other spaces against The Ivy Room. I was instantly captivated by the outdoor courtyard, even though there was no plan to use it for my wedding in early November. It had such "secret garden" type of feel that when enclosed inside its ivy walls, you would never know you were in the middle of downtown Chicago. The indoor space was a beautiful blank slate and exuded warmth even when completely empty. Donna was amazing from the start. She entertained my impromptu visits to see the space and was always available to answer any and all questions. She provided great referrals and made the planning of our wedding celebration incredibly stress-free. Three days before the wedding, with the temperature creeping up into the upper sixties for the first weekend of November, Donna and Matt both decided that an outdoor cocktail hour could be pulled off. We had no hesitation in letting them take the lead. It could not have been a better suggestion and decision. Our guests were already enchanted by the warm weather and even more enchanted when arriving to the "secret garden" They pulled all the stops making sure that the courtyard got landscaped in time, the trees lighted and that all our other vendors were coordinated. The rest of the evening went on without a hitch. Donna and Matt coordinated in advance with all of our vendors, assisted with odd jobs (thanks for the Polaroids, Donna!) and even took calls from us on their day off to retrieve some left behind items. We had the best time at our wedding and Donna and Matt deserve many thanks for making our night completely stress-free and all about us and our friends and family.

We had our wedding at The Ivy Room on May 11, 2013. I had wanted an outdoor ceremony, but really wanted a convenient location for our guests who would mostly be coming from out of town. Lakeside was too windy, so when my then-fiance sent me the link for The Ivy Room we knew it was exactly what we had been looking for. We worked with Christy who is just the nicest, most cheerful person you've ever met. She made everything so easy, and worked wonderfully with our coordinator to make sure every detail was taken care of. The venue itself is just beautiful. Most of our guests couldn't believe that incredible space was tucked in the middle of the city. I called it our "Secret Garden", and it truly was. The courtyard gets beautiful light, even into the early evening. Inside, the beautiful wood moldings just say "Chicago". And once dancing has started and the room gets a little hot, those french doors are a life saver! Thank you to Christy and the whole team at The Ivy Room. We truly can't imagine having had our wedding anywhere else.

I recently got married at The Ivy Room and the venue could not be a better spot for a non-traditional downtown wedding! The weather did not hold out for us so we could not utilize the courtyard as we had planned but it was still as great as we envisioned it would be! We encouraged guests to go out there in between rain showers to see how pretty it was and some guests described it as "an enchanted garden". Donna and Christy were incredibly helpful with any questions we had and throughout the planning process. They also have an excellent list of vendors which we chose almost all our vendors from and were very pleased with everyone's hard work to make the day come together so perfectly. My taste is a bit more simple so our decor was not as elaborate as it can be which is what makes The Ivy Room the perfect venue- you can decorate it just as YOU would like. I would HIGHLY recommend this venue for anyone that does not want to do a traditional Hotel venue. The location could not be more perfect and it truly is a "hidden gem" in the heart of the city! Anyone considering The Ivy Room should absolutely get married here!

What a gem of a venue in the middle of our big city. Went to a wedding there last weekend and was really impressed with the indoor and outdoor space. There's such a feeling of peace and elegance when you step inside. The courtyard is beautiful with lots of plants, ivy and height dimensions amongst all the buildings surrounding it. The building inside has gorgeous wood floors and glowing lights. My friend(the bride) worked closely with the management team of the venue... they were very professional and helped at every step of the way. I also appreicated the security staff out front and the attendant near the bathroom.

I was very picky about my wedding venue. I wanted somewhere unique, beautiful and convenient. Tree Studios was the first place I looked and we booked it immediately. I knew when I met with Christy and saw the space and the courtyard this was my dream location. Working with Christy, Donna and their team was great. From start to finish that took note on every detail and made sure my wedding day was as amazing as it turned out to be. If you're looking for that "aw" space in the heart of Chicago, this is it! I can not thank them enough for everything they did for my wedding. I wish i could have one every year :-)

I had my wedding there this month and everything was AMAZING. For Chicago prices, this was extremely reasonable for our 110 person wedding. I can't think of one thing where we asked if this was possible and that we were told "no." No hidden charges, no surprises day of- and Leslie who was our coordinator was a DREAM. Great communication, flexible with our tastings and venue visits since we were out of town, and really made everything unforgettable. Great venue with a lot of flexibility to make sure you can have the wedding of your dreams.

We booked the Ivy Room for our wedding and couldn't be more pleased with the services they provided. Their staff is simply incredible and attentive. Seriously just so great. If you're on the fence about booking take the plunge. They rocked and made sure everything went off without a hitch. Getting married at The Ivy Room was an amazing experience, and my wife and I could not have been more pleased with their service! The staff was impeccable, from the servers to the valet. We started working with Kiran who helped us plan the perfect day. The wedding ran just as we planned, with the help of Leslie to keep everything on track. After months of planning we were finally able to relax and enjoy our wedding. The food was delicious, with many guests telling us it was the best food they ever had at a wedding! So much credit goes to both Kiran, Leslie and the Ivy Room staff for making our wedding the most incredible experience.

Can't get any better than this venue for a wedding. Worked with Chrissy and she was amazing in helping guide us through setting up the venue, picking out menu, and getting all the details right for the day. HUGE bonus the wait staff comes from LEYE restaurants so you get PROFESSIONAL servers who are AMAZING! My guests made it a point to tell me how good the food was also - which I knew was going to be cause come on it's a LEYE venue. Do yourself a favor and just book the space!

Magnificent venue. Gorgeously appointed. Service is seriously top notch. Never heard anyone have an issue here. Food was fresh. Well stocked and tasted fresh. Ballroom area was very well kept, organized and staff were highly attentive to the room. Highly recommend as a venue.

We went for a wedding this weekend here. We were very impressed with the service from the wait staff. They were fantastic in acommodating the many dietary restrictions at our table, even bringing us berries for dessert (we are vegan). The room is perfectly laid out for weddings, with downstairs for cocktails and upstairs for ceremony and reception.

Where do I begin? I was married at the Ivy Room on Sunday, July 8th, 2018. We had a morning ceremony, followed by a cocktail reception and luncheon. It was amazing and I don't even know if there are enough words to sing the praises of the venue, and especially to sing the praises of Leslie Fuller, our event manager. But first, I'd like to review a few key important elements of having an event at the Ivy Room. The food: Everything from start to finish was absolutely delicious. All of our guests, and I mean all of them, complimented how scrumptious the appetizers, lunch and dessert were, not to mention the lovely wines that were standard offerings at the Ivy Room. Several of our guests were in the restaurant business (one who has won a James Beard Award), and they all tipped their hats to quality of the food served. It was delicious! Please note that the kitchen at the Ivy Room is on site and the food is prepared there (this is not an insignificant detail). The venue: If you are lucky enough to have the beautiful weather we had that day, (80 degrees and sunny with low humidity) the courtyard at the Ivy Room is absolutely delightful and is a hidden gem in the city. Most of my guests had never heard of the Ivy Room, so when they entered from the street, they were amazed at the beauty of the courtyard and were so impressed with its serenity despite being located in the heart of River North. The rest of the Ivy Room's facilities are equally as lovely: the downstairs cocktail area, bathrooms and main banquet room are well-appointed, tasteful and have an air of understated elegance. I can't say enough about the venue as a whole--it's a wonderful place to host an event. The staff: Since the Ivy Room's staff is employed by the Ivy Room (they are not employed by a catering company), they are total professionals and it was clear that the venue is a well-oiled machine. Everything from start to finish flowed very smoothly and it was evident that the experienced staff had a lot to do with the seamless nature of the event. In addition, they are all very nice people and are incredibly attentive. Leslie Fuller: I can't say enough about Leslie. She was absolutely amazing to work with you and I am so grateful to her that she made our day as special as it was. From the very beginning of our correspondence, she was totally attentive, accommodating and responsive. In addition, she worked with us to make sure that we were within our budget for all aspects of the day. We were very pleased with the final proposal that we signed and a lot had to do with Leslie working hard to meet our budgetary needs. In the months leading up to the wedding, I probably e-mailed Leslie 100+ times with different questions and not only were her responses incredibly speedy (sometimes she responded within minutes, even on weekends and late at night!), but her correspondence was always thorough and extremely pleasant even when I was asking the most trivial things. She is an expert in customer service and a true pleasure to work with. In fact, now that the wedding is over, I actually miss corresponding with her because she is so lovely! The Ivy Room is so lucky to have her on staff and you will be incredibly fortunate if you have the luck of working with her for your event. All in all, I can't say enough about the Ivy Room. It's a first-class venue and I highly recommend it for any type of event. You won't be disappointed!

I cannot recommend the Ivy Room enough. We married at our church (where we met) and held our reception at The Ivy Room. If we chose to have our ceremony at The Ivy Room, it would have been beautiful and perfectly executed as well. We worked directly with Natalie to plan our 3/4/17 wedding. She is extremely responsive and helpful and 100% our advocate. You want her on your side when planning your special day. She even went the extra mile helping tie up my dress the day-of, and she and The Ivy Room chef and staff made sure I was well fed when arriving at the Ivy Room (I was SO hungry after taking pics all day) and even remembered my favorite drink, a specialty cocktail, to have ready for me! They also had my husband's favorite drink ready for him as well and a cheese and meat platter in the private room for us. From the beginning of our reception it was clear that we were their focus. They set aside desserts for us, had appetizers ready for us during the "room reveal" and were there to make sure everything went well. One of my relatives is gluten free and dairy free and immediately after she took a seat, a waitress/head of staff was there to ensure her dietary needs were taken care of. She has never had that special treatment before at any wedding or event and very much appreciated it. I received compliments on the food MONTHS after our wedding. My friend still talks about how amazing the butternut squash truffle soup tasted!!! The lemon tart dessert - my mom can't stop talking about that still. I loved the scallop entree. Everything was fantastic. SERIOUSLY the chef is awesome. Even though it was cold for our beginning of March wedding, we were able to use the courtyard for some awesome sparkler pictures, too. Ivy Room also accommodated a flower donation to Random Acts of Flowers the Monday after our wedding. If you're thinking of getting married at the Ivy Room, think no further and just go ahead and DO IT. You won't regret it. I can't imagine having our Chicago wedding anywhere else. Hands down the best wedding venue we could have chosen for our September wedding. It is a truly magical space that gives you a perfect blend of city and garden elements. What sets the Ivy room apart is it's incredible staff members, specifically Leslie Fuller and Brittany Pflug. Firstly, Leslie was available to talk basically 24/7 and answered everyone of mine and my mom's emails/calls within an hour. No matter the time of day. Then come day of and I felt like the MOST special bride (and I was probably one of four that weekend). Not sure how they do it but they were so incredibly attentive to our needs all night and managed our group so well. The food was incredible, the venue was stunning and they were all so easy/fun to work with!!

Great space for an event, two floors one can be used for a reception area, then open up the second floor for the main event. Dramatic, inviting, well decorated. loved it

Now that the dust has settled a little from all the wedding hoopla, I can give my candid review! I had my wedding here May 27 and I do not have enough GOOD things to say about Ivy Room! 1st- the Look- I had the ceremony out in the courtyard and reception indoors. This place is truly gorgeous! Outdoors, the ivy along the walls created the look of a special intimate garden in the heart of downtown Chicago! Inside, the walls lined with mother of pearl, beautiful wooden floors, and windows overlooking the walkway outside. Seriously, when searching for wedding venue, I looked everywhere- I knew I didn't want a hotel and I wanted a space where I could have the ceremony in one area and reception in another but be in the same location here Ivy Room satisfied both accounts. Other places I looked were Ravenswood, the Rookery, River East Art center, Zhou Art Center, West Loop Studio, A New Leaf, Chicago Illuminating Company- they were all either too expensive, too small, or to separate ceremony space and reception space was too cumbersome. Ivy Room was the last space I saw and once I did- my search was over. Pricing- At Ivy Room, I was able to set up a payment plan that did not break the bank and was flexible which is crucial in planning a wedding! Vendors- Everyone in the Chicago wedding business knew the Ivy Room which made our discussions flow much better. The People- Donna was a true gem- always there for questions, advice, really genuine, patient and truly calming during stressful wedding planning. Matt was a great resource as well, always making sure our paperwork was just right so that we are all are on the same page. In addition, Donna and Matt sent out Christmas cards and were just so thoughtful. It felt less like a business and more like friends. In summary- a wedding day is nothing to play with- too much money, time, and effort goes into it. You want to be confident that it will go right and it starts by having the right people in your corner. At the Ivy room, you get just that and you don't have to be a millionaire to have such class, beauty, professionalism, and quality. Thanks guys from the bottom of my heart!

I take Yelp reviews very seriously, and we checked out the Ivy Room based on Diana B's recommendation from 11/16/2009 (she was also gracious enough to speak with me via email a few times - thank you Diana!). If you like bullet points, here is why the Ivy Room is so awesome: - Donna, Christy, and Matt (who has since left) are AWESOME to work with. - The venue is just as beautiful on the inside as it is in the courtyard. - The location is perfect--right in the heart of the city; if you want a city wedding, it really doesn't get better than this! - The venue is well-established, and vendors will have worked there before. When planning a wedding you will want the various vendors to enjoy harmonious synergy. This is all but assured at the Ivy Room, and it makes planning for your wedding far less stressful and far more enjoyable. - Prices are mid-range, but there are NO hidden costs. There is a flat fee to use the space, and the contract is very straightforward and easy to understand. Plus, you can pay with a credit card. Here is our story: We looked for the perfect venue for a long time. We had decided on one that we loved, only to have a terrible experience with the venue manager. I happened upon The Ivy Room on Yelp, and based on the outstanding reviews, gorgeous online pictures, and chatting with Diana B., we decided to check it out. We immediately fell in love with the courtyard (you will, too) and Donna. She was awesome, and made us feel right at home, quite unlike several of the other places we considered. Donna and Matt guided us through all of the ins and outs of what we needed to do to pull our wedding together. They also provided great recommendations. For example, Donna recommended our caterer, Ted Grady at J&L, a consummate professional that shares a great working relationship with the folks at the Ivy Room. Sadly, a month before our wedding, Matt left The Ivy Room, and we were informed that the newly hired Christy would run our wedding. We were a little apprehensive at first, but she was fantastic, making the transition seamless. She was on top of the entire evening, and Donna and Christy took excellent care of everything (including me) all night. I cannot say enough wonderful things about The Ivy Room - especially Donna and Christy - and would HIGHLY recommend this venue to anyone looking to have their wedding (or other special event) in Chicago!!

I had my wedding here in June and I cannot say enough great things about Kiran and her team! The space is just amazing and romantic. We had the wedding outside in the courtyard, cocktails, and then moved inside for the reception. The service was impeccable and attentive. The food was EXCELLENT! We chose challenging dishes to execute - poached egg with asparagus salad for appetizers and the eggs were perfectly executed- on all 100 guests. Food was amazing and they got everything perfect! The Chef will customize anything you like - we had him make little mini pies which were lovely. Kiran was very hands on with our day of planner to help make sure everything went smoothly. The Ivy Room and service of the entire team made our night! Superior! Bravo!

MAGICAL. There is no other way to describe the Ivy Room. After pouring over dozens and dozens of venues in Chicago and the burbs online, this was only place I was interested in getting married. Visiting and seeing the place in person, and meeting Donna and Matt sealed the deal. This venue is class, class, class all the way. From the breathtaking courtyard and ballroom with french doors overlooking the courtyard, to the their outstanding vendor list, to Matt, Donna and Christy's invaluable guidance, this place is PERFECTION for the discriminating city bride who can't bear to get married in a generic banquet hall or hotel. And it's worth every penny. People can't stop talking about our wedding, and we owe a lot of that to the Ivy Room and the fantastic vendors Matt and Donna personally recommended -- Toast and Jam DJ Laura, I Do Films, Emily Johnston Anderson Photography (albeit indirectly through David Wittig --also amazing!), Cornelia McNamara Flowers, Berghoff, BCR events and Bruce Otto. Since our wedding, I actually miss this place--and am seriously hoping someone we know gets married there so I have an excuse to go back :). P.S. -- for all you Ivy Room Brides dying to get married in the gorgeous courtyard, don't be devastated if it rains. I was so looking forward to my courtyard ceremony, but it rained and we had to go to plan B -- and I couldn't be happier. Everyone bent over backwards to make the ballroom look gorgeous and the lighting by Chicago Lighting Design really made everything look great. We opened the french doors to let a little twilight light in and provide a view of the dewy courtyard, and in the end, the indoor ceremony was very intimate and special. Inside or out, the Ivy Room is unbeatable!!

During and after our wedding, people were raving about not only the food, but the venue itself. It wouldn't have been the case without the truly professional staff and the incredible work of the Chef. If you're looking for a perfect intimate and different downtown Chicago venue, this is it!

I was looking for a downtown venue that was unique that could provide us with both the ceremony and reception. As I was doing my research I kept coming across The Ivy Room but can honestly say I bypassed it several times because the pictures just don't do it justice. My fiancee and I wanted to get married in October - before the holidays and not have to wait until next spring so we had six months to plan a wedding! Due to its ideal location and that they had a few remaining dates open, I made an appointment for my fiancee and myself. We viewed it in the early spring of this year so the ivy, the flowers and planting had not yet bloomed. Our hostess, Christy, pointed out during our walk thru that come October, the ivy would be changing into fall colors. We were hooked! Christy was invaluable in helping us plan and answering questions. If I sent a question it was usually answered within hours. She also was a great guide in helping me find my other vendors as well as decorating ideas. The location is great because it is within walking distance of so many hotels. We didn't even book rooms anywhere - our guests could pick any price point as well as use their points the hotel of their choice. With that said, we did not have to worry about transportation, i.e. limos or trolleys, one less thing to have to spend money on or worry about. We got married 10/12/12 and it was magical. We were blessed with no rain and were able to have the ceremony at dusk. All of our guests from out of town and from Chicago were blown away by the venue. It was definitely worth the money! I am so, so happy we picked it as our venue. I can't imagine having had my wedding and reception anywhere else!

It's taken me farrr too long to write this spectacular review! We got married on 5.27.17 at the Ivy Room and it was the most perfect, magical day. It was honestly the only venue we saw & we were sold. Between the beautiful outdoor space, the ivy, the pretty indoor space, and the outstanding service we were 100% in! The courtyard is even more gorgeous in person with the ivy growing & the twinkling lights. Day of, everything was taken care of and we were able to use their chairs, plates, utensils, table covers, cake stand, etc. Chrissy was our coordinator & she was/is still amazing to this day! We were invited back for an event on Valentines Day last year that they held for their past couples married there & it was awesome to be back! We were just there again last night for the al fresco dining & Chrissy was there again to welcome us back! The staff all called us by name & remembered our day there over 3 years ago! They're just superb all around & I am so excited every time we have the chance to go back!! Highly recommend Chrissy!!

Excellent venue! Was here for a business dinner and all staff were extremely hospitable and professional. The venue itself is very nice and modern. Food was excellent along with good options on wine. Would like to be back here again for a different event.
