The Ivy Room

I loved everything about the Ivy Room. Perfect for a romantic date night. The soft lighting, views and decor make it a perfect location for lovers. The live music is a lovely touch. Started with the dirty shrimp cocktail. This small plate packed a lot of flavor. The vinaigrette, olives, shrimp & trout caviar was savory. For entrees we order the steak & frites and short rib garganelli. Both dishes didn’t disappoint. The steak temperature was correct. It was seasoned and topped with a tasty chimichurri, served with piping hot fresh French fries. The short rib sauce was delicious with tender garganelli. For dessert we went with the chocolate mousse. It was decadent with brandied cherries on top and throughout.

Had an amazing evening at The Ivy Room with my friend Niko during Restaurant Week. The $45 three course prix fixe menu was an absolute steal for the quality and generous portions. Every course was phenomenal. We started with the potato pavé served with squid ink and the shrimp cocktail — both were delicious, but the potato pavé truly stood out. For our mains, we had the chicken and sea bass. The portions were impressive, and the chicken was easily one of the best I’ve ever had. For dessert, my friend ordered the chocolate mousse, topped with an alcohol-infused cherry that added such a unique touch, and I had the matcha tiramisu, which was perfectly balanced and delicious. Our server, Triana (hope I’m spelling that correctly), truly elevated the experience with attentive and memorable service. The live music added a charming, intimate vibe to the evening. For the perfect night out, I highly recommend starting with happy hour drinks at the Penthouse Rooftop, located next door at the Royalton Park Avenue, and then heading to The Ivy Room for dinner. Incredible food, great ambiance, and unbeatable value.

The establishment is plagued by a typical hotel food and beverage issue: the service is notably poor while the pricing is unjustifiably high. I will admit, the space is very nice looking and the whole floor has cool views, but who doesn't in Nomad, NYC? I ordered a diet coke and medium-rare steak frites during lunch service on a very quiet Friday where I was the only lunch customer. (the breakfast crowd had trickled out by the time I got my food). The server dropped me a not-diet coke and vanished for quite awhile, leaving me with empty water and a sugar bomb. The second I asked, "are you sure this is a diet coke?" I saw the look on her face and a "oops, I poured a normal one" then fixed it quickly. This is after having ordered my drink twice, having to correct her repeat-back to diet coke both times. When my steak came out quite a while later, she said “medium steak frites” when dropping it off. I said I definitely ordered medium-rare as I never get any cut cooked harder and she offered a remake- I declined given it would probably take another 20 minutes and it was at least a proper medium cook. The food was done well, nothing special of course but it seems that the kitchen can execute albeit very slowly for a completely empty place. I made a request for the f&b manager to drop by so I could let him know and he handled it very well. I still have ~$70 of dining credits to use during my stay, so maybe I will see how they handle dinner service.

My fiancé and I had a Pulsd deal for the jazz brunch and this was one of the best brunch deals in the city by far. I ordered the omelette and my fiancé ordered the Ivy Room breakfast. Everything was cooked to perfection and the mimosas were delicious. The live jazz band, the atmosphere and the service was top tier. I will de definitely be back!

Went for Sunday brunch and left extremely satisfied. Mimosas were definitely on point. Jazz performers were great. Would recommend.

The ambience, service, decor and live band were all 10/10. Unfortunately the food is below par and didn't have much flavor to it. We had the cacio e pepe which was probably one of the worst I've had in the city. The noodles were bad quality and slippery, the sauce looked creamy but didnt taste it. We also had the butternut squash which was a little better but half of it was undercooked and quite firm. The endive salad was not bad, a little heavy on the dressing but good flavor.

Food and drinks were great! Friendly staff and amazing top floor atmosphere with live jazz music. Make sure to make a reservation though

THE WORST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN NEW YORK CITY. I genuinely cannot believe how rude and unprofessional the staff were. I made a 2:30 PM reservation, and earlier that same day I even called the restaurant to ask if I could arrive a bit later. I was clearly told that the latest I could arrive and still be seated was 3:00 PM. I arrived at 2:40 PM, which is literally 10 minutes after my reservation and still well before the 3:00 PM cutoff they told me. The hostess said my reservation had been canceled because I missed a phone call at 2:31 PM. When I tried to explain that I had been told I could arrive by 3:00 PM, the hostess became extremely rude and dismissive. She literally turned her back to me while I was speaking, refused to look at me, and pretended not to hear me as if I didn’t exist. Every time I tried to continue explaining the situation, she would walk away mid-sentence or stand there with her back turned ignoring me completely. I have never experienced such blatant disrespect at a restaurant before. This was supposed to be a birthday brunch for my mother, and instead we were treated terribly and told to request a refund through Pulsd because they would not seat us or honor the reservation. And to be clear, if I had truly been late and they simply could not honor the reservation, I would have understood. We could have easily gone somewhere else for brunch and I would not be writing this review. What made this experience completely unacceptable was the extreme level of disrespect from the staff. Turning your back on a customer, ignoring them while they are speaking, and pretending not to hear them is beyond unprofessional.

The food and the atmosphere was amazing. Our server was so sweet and funny. It was a great overall experience!

Went there for restaurant week, which is maybe not a fair assessment but it seemed to be all the same menu items just at a discount. Nothing special for the price. Food was skimpy (2 shrimp cut in half for an appetizer) and my $25 burger was just ok. An Irish bar around the corner could do better for less money. Ambiance was nice. It was pretty empty. The piano player was great so we left when he took a break. Service was ok. Nothing special. Drinks were pricey. Wanted this to be amazing, but it was just ok. I'm sure with a group getting drinks and with more people in the restaurant this could be a fun spot. Might have been the weather keeping people away, but I don't need to go back.

Came for the Jazz brunch on a Sunday and loved it. We got the seafood pasta and the steak with eggs, and bottomless for 1 hour. They have mimosas, bloody Mary's and rose to choose from. The pasta was too lemony for me. The steak wasn't the highest quality but it was still good. The sweet potatoes that come with it were veeery good. Everybody was very attentive and quick service. The cherry on top? Live music while enjoying your brunch.

Wonderful location with live music and amazing service. The staff was very welcoming once we checked in for our reservation. We were seated indoors and noticed that a singer and guitarist were setting up for their live performance. From their first note we were dazzled and enjoyed listening throughout the night. I was shocked that the place wasn't that crowded (Tuesday night). Plus, the waitresses were friendly and always checked in on us. For drinks, we ordered a Paloma Spritz and Chai'd car. Both were strong but delicious. For our app, we split a gem Caesar salad. It looked simple (compared to what you would find at a sweetgreen) but I felt like the flavors stood out. To me, it tasted like the lettuce drenched in sauce from an In-N-Out burger. Personally, that's how I best enjoy a salad. For our entrees, we both ordered a set of steak frites per the recommendation from the waitress. I ordered mine medium rare. I'd probably order it medium next time but I still enjoyed it. The French fries were nice and potatoey, too. It was filling so I took a box home and am excited for the leftovers. We heard about this place through their offer posted on PULSD. The offer was $39 for two entrees and two cocktails. It was a fabulous deal as we ordered two sets of steak frites (which are already around $36 each). For the value, atmosphere, great service and good food, this place takes the cake. I'm hoping to visit again in the summer so I can go on their balcony. Thanks for a great experience!

Ambiance is pleasant and in line with what one would expect at a hotel restaurant. We were there as part of a PULSD event and enjoyed the live music performance, which included a guitar player and vocalist. Service is friendly and prompt (which was expected, as it was not too busy at the venue) and we enjoyed the Parisian style seating for the performance. We were pleasantly surprised by the food, which ended up tasting much better than expected. The sea bass in particular (served in a clam cream sauce with roasted cauliflower for $34) was very rich and flavorful and the steak frites ($36) was cooked exactly as requested. While prices are a bit inflated (due to its position as a hotel bar + live music combo) I enjoyed my dinner here.

Such a great find!!!! Oh my goodness!! Look for the door off Park Ave and head up the elevator where you'll be greeted by a sweet young lady and seated at an ample table with plenty of room to move around. This is especially important during the winter when you've got your coat & gear to unload and feel more comfortable. Our server was very attentive and so personable. We were lucky to have made reservations on a night with live entertainment. That was a nice touch to the night! We had crafted drinks and all of our entrees were AhhhhMazing!! We ordered Steak Frittes, the Sea Bass and Gnocchi. It was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back!!

I came for restaurant week to celebrate my fiancee for her birthday. It was a surprise dinner (party of 6). First I want to say that I appreciate the restaurant allowing the party to sit without the full party present because as I mentioned this was a surprise (many restaurants are sticklers about that). We were seated along the wall- very comfortable seating for a larger party. There was live music which was a nice addition that I was unaware of. Our server--Hemal--was AMAZING! He really added to the experience, was incredibly attentive and caring. It is difficult to celebrate loved ones in the city because how particular restaurants are, so I appreciated Hemal going the extra mile to make sure we had a good experience! I loved everything on the restaurant week menu. I ordered the risotto which looked questionable (lol), but was surprisingly delicious! I have no photos of the food unfortunately, but you can see some of my friends enjoying their time at the Ivy Room. I definitely recommend visiting :)

What's not to like? Jazz music, good food, top-floor views, and fantastic vibes. I would say the Ivy Room gives all that for brunch, but a few things caught my attention, and, as a result, it did not meet the five-star levels. I'll point out my main concern in a moment, but first, let me congratulate the Jazz band that provided the entertainment; well done. Well, I'll turn to a few of my concerns now. First, the small, intimate dining area was not clean. Napkins and other food items were on the floor around our table (dining with a friend). I would expect that cleanliness would not be a concern for a small space. The tables between each set of customers need to be wiped down. An additional concern was the serving glass. Although the brunch was coming to a close, the bartender and staff should maintain the same level of service, including the glasses you choose to serve and the quality of the pour. Like I said initially, the food, ambiance, and music were good. Unfortunately, customer service and cleanliness did not meet the mark. At no point throughout the meal our waitress never checked in on us. Please don't get me wrong; I'm willing to give the Ivy Room another go, but I hope my concerns will be considered.

Enjoyed a jazz brunch here a few weeks ago, and had a lovely time. Staff were great at keeping our mimosas flowing, and the ricotta pancakes were divine. The singer had a two-piece band with her that were excellent to watch. Would happily visit again.

I was looking at the PULSD deal where you get 2 entree and 2 cocktails for $39, and can buy multiples for the table. Something made me call and ask if there was an age minimum. Yup, 21+ after 6pm. Nowhere on their website does it mention they are 21+ after 6pm, I can't imagine buying the deal and showing up with my kids in tow! If you are 21+, be upfront about it. Also the website is terrible. It shows the Ivy Room only open 7-11, and then 6-late but then has various brunch AND lunch menus. So makes you question are they open for lunch? So confused and not in a good way

The Ivy Room is an intimate piano and cocktail lounge located on the rooftop of the Royalton Park Avenue Hotel. It hosts a rotating lineup of NYC based pianists and singers. The indoor/outdoor rooftop experience you will experience is top notch with amazing views of parts of the city. There's even a large heated pool on the rooftop (available for hotel guests only). My best friend and I came here for their Sunday jazz brunch featuring live music. We arrived on the rooftop and was immediately greeted and seated. The decor was simple yet beautiful for such an intimate space. We enjoyed the jazz band and they came around to the tables to greet patrons. Food: I'll give it a 6 on a scale from 1 to 10. We both ordered the double smash burger and fries. The burger was juicy but a bit on the salty side. The fries were seasoned well and crispy just how I love my fries to be prepared. Drinks: I'll give the bartender a 4 out of 10. Brunch drink options were Mimosas, Bloody Mary's and Rosé. It was bottomless drinks for one hour and we were able to switch drinks at any time, which is always nice. We both went with the mimosa for our first drink and our server informed us that we can have it with orange juice, cranberry juice or a mixture of both juices. We chose the orange/cranberry mix and it was delicious. The drinks were given to us in large Bordeaux glasses with a nice amount of sparkling wine in them (not a bunch of juice). The bartender did well with the first drink. However, it went downhill from there. Every mimosa he made after that was served in small flute glasses and he added too much juice and not enough sparkling wine (which is my pet peeve). Towards the end of brunch I decided to switch up and get rosé. It was quite tasty. Thus bartender has to take it easy on the juice when making mimosas, point blank. Service: I'll give it a 6 out of 10. They appeared to be short staffed as the hostess was playing multiple roles (greeting guests and a server). There were times during our brunch experience where my glass sat empty for long periods of time. My issue with restaurants like this that have bottomless drinks is if all or most of the table are having the same drink just bring a carafe to the table to make life easier. It's less work for the bartender/server as well. Overall, it was a good experience. It was our first time here so we'll give them another shot.

My friends and I had a pulsd deal for the brunch. The food itself was decent. The drinks were good, very strong. My first glass of rosè was served with some gross black thing at the bottom of the glass which was a no for me. But everything else was fine. The menu is simple but the food was good enough. The service was attentive but they did charge our bill wrong multiple times and had to fix it which kept us waiting. As for the jazz it was nice but they took long breaks so I can't say I felt it was worth it just for that. All in all it was good but not great.

Hidden gem; good cocktails, decent apps and solid mains, with a cheeky dessert. Bonus; jazz guitarist took the night up a level. Would attend again for the good food, good service and entertainment.

The waitress wearing sneakers and long nails long overdue for a nail salon fix, too casual for this place. Needless to say that looking at the looks like worn yesterday top from the waiter, nearly cut my appetite for the ok nothing special $22 basic spaghetti fish with truffles and lots of pepper. The only put together and fit into the space was the singer with her band.

We went for dinner- The food was spectacular. The cowboy rib eye was sold out, so I got the Steak Frites- and I was super happy! It was cooked absolutely perfectly medium rare AND the chef's seasoning & chimichuri was the best I've had since visiting Mexico. I have been and regularly go to restaurants and have had steaks that are cooked wrong. They come out med-well or worse. Or poorly seasoned and the service at those places stink. Some of those restaurants I am talking about are right on park ave, walking distance from The Ivy Room. The chef at The Ivy Room is phenomenal! We had the Potato Pave and added the caviar. It was LIGHTS OUT delicious. If you don't want to spend the extra money for the caviar just get the photo pave. It's amazing on its own, instead of the caviar just salt the Potato Pave a little extra to mimic the flavor profile of the caviar. But hey, for about $30, just get the caviar on it. You'll love it. We also ordered the yellow fin tuna crispy rice, also something I would come back for. I think if they had the cowboy steak on the menu I might still order the steak frites, it was so good oh my. The drinks were great! I had the smoked almond old fashioned. It was a fun presentation and pairs well with steak. The space is small, which I love. So definitely make a reservation. It's beautiful inside, very modern and well designed. They also have a rooftop patio if you like to eat outside! The live jazz/ragtime music was wonderful. I can't recommend this place more! One of the BEST date spots in Manhattan for sure. I love the quaint intimate setting. It's like a small NYC version of Delilah in the Wynn Hotel Las Vegas, just more NYC and less Vegas opulence. The service JUST LIKE THE FOOD was Michelin Star quality. The server and especially her support staff are incredible. I never had to ask for water- like I have to repeatedly at many Michelin star & Michelin quality restaurants. They cleared plates immediately and were friendly and professional. I'd hire ALL of them in any of my restaurants. Hey I just might lol don't mind the negative reviews for this place- just go and you'll see. I'm still talking about the chef today at brunch- incredible!! Great spot for QUALITY food and live music. The place was not loud. The music didn't bother our ears at all. So if you're worried about not being able to talk to the people at your table forget it. This place is perfect for a group, party, date, or just a good time eating great food and drinking & live music.

Dark piano bar and jazzy vocals + delicious food = a must-do on date night. For num nums, start with the satisfying Potato Pave. Continue with the hearty Lamb Bolognese featuring some of the best handmade spinach cavatelli you'll find anywhere, and add a Grilled Branzino that would make Daniel Boulud weep. Maybe throw in a side of Crispy Potatoes & Mushrooms that manage to be perfectly crunchy despite how wet mushrooms are. The desserts won't blow your mind with uniqueness, but the Profiteroles feature some top-notch choux. Seriously, where is this chef from? Rooftop/piano bars are supposed to have crappy, overpriced food, not this perfect representation of upscale New American. I'm annoyed I haven't been eating here for years. Our only miss was our Winter Tonic cocktail. It was one large goblet of watered down bitters with a stick of rosemary. But s'okay, because that just enables my wallet to focus on the food.

Really displeased with this experience, I hate to say! We came in for drinks and to listen to the live music on a Saturday night. There was only one table taken in the entire room with the singer and pianist but the manager wouldn't let us go there to have drinks/sit at the bar without buying dinner. Disappointing as it would've been easy business for them and of course, enjoyable. Highly recommend the Ivy Room change this strict policy that was apparently just put in place.

The rooftop overlooking the city was cozy and beautiful. My friends and I sat to watch a beautiful performance by a wonderful nyc singer Katie who performed amazing renditions on Jan 30th. The piano was wonderful and cozy. Our server Kalidas was the best and earns 10/10 stars! He took much time with us and gave amazing recommendations! He also spent time taking rooftop pictures of us for social media! Kalidas and the wonderful singer (with her piano player) are why I give this place so many stars. To be honest, the food was overpriced and not particularly special. It was yummy to eat but I wouldn't pay that much for the meal again. I went to see a talented NYC singer Katie and her performance was awesome as well as the service. The rooftop was nice but not amazing enough to charge those steep prices.

My wife and I went to The Ivy Room the other day and it did not disappoint! The Caviar Dirty Martini and Sidecar were amazing. We ordered the Citrus Cured Salmon, Beets & Figs, Roasted Japanese Eggplant and Steak Frites. Everything was very tasty. The service was great too. I think my favorite part was the live music though. They had this amazingly talented woman singing and another super talented musician on the piano. Overall, it was a great experience and we'll definitely be going back. We'll have to take more photos next time.

Service is extremely slow! Bottomless brunch and we had only 3 drinks yikes! Food is really good. The Smash burger was so good.

Such a good vibe and a great date spot. I do recommend checking out of Friday or Sat 6-8PM when live jazz is offered. Don't forget to make a reservation!

Our server Glee was amazing so personable, friendly and accommodating to all our needs. We purchased the pulse voucher unlimited drinks/food for 2 people $29. great deal..Food soo good.. had hanger steak.( tender) Loved the live Piano player.,

Another stop for NYC Restaurant week! This restaurant is inside a hotel and it is so cute and intimate! This is the perfect location for a date night (like if you're a real couple not in the "talking" stage lol). They have live music starting at 7pm and it's nice and low in the background so you can still talk and not have to worry about yelling over it (but again this place is intimate you'll be basically on your partners lap). There is a bar directly across the hall which is also fun. I will definitely go back this summer to see how the vibes are with the terrace open and whatnot. The service had great potential. I think there was a mix up with the tables or something but it did take our waiter a while to come take our orders. They did apologize which was nice. The other staff (managers, busy boys(?), hostess) were all amazing and super friendly. Now on to the food. The appetizer I had was good! My friend had the lamb meatballs and had zero complaints. I had the Brussel sprouts. I personally prefer my sprouts really roasted, but it was still good and flavorful. For the main course my friend had the pasta (again no complaints) and I had the seared chicken. This chicken was so juicy and tender ! I was able to cut it with just my fork! The flavors were everything (I do want to note I got this with no mushrooms). The fingerlings were crispy yet soft I don't know how they did it but they were delicious. Cocktails were pricy (but it's also nyc so ‍) but okay. Nothing to really write home about. I prefer my cocktails sweet and they didn't have that many options but the one I did have was still drinkable. My friend had the chocolate mousse, again no complaints and said it was good! I had the profiteroles and OH MY GOODNESS. Delicious might be an understatement. The only note I would make is if the pastry was just a wee bit warmer when served it would have beyond perfect, but the dessert altogether was perfect. I will probably go back just for that but I wouldn't mind getting the chicken again. Altogether a great find and a great meal! (Sorry the pics are a bit off. I was in a rush to dig in )

Sunday Jazz Brunch using a Pulsd deal. We had unlimited bloody marys & rose wine. I ordered the burrata with peaches and my husband had the burger. Both entrees were top notch, esp good french fries. The server misunderstood that my husband wanted a doggie bad for the 1/2 burger + ff he didn't eat and it was tossed. They gave us an order of FF but nothing to replace the burger. Nice room with Ivy on the walls. We loved the jazz.

Appreciated decor and jazz music, and server and host were likeable. But food was misrepresented and mediocre at best, and better at the local diner. We were really offended by automatic gratuity and overcharges on the bill, but staff was apathetic and defensive about the situation, rather than make some attempt to correct the situation. Overcharges were minor, and I would have normally dismissed them, but the staff completely mishandled the situation. Would have tolerated mediocre food but the experience at the end left a bad taste in our mouths. Very sketchy.

I had a pleasant dining experience at The Ivy Room. I bought the Pulsd deal where for $45, you get two entrees and two drinks, which I thought was a steal. First off, I thought the dining room was very clean and comfortable. They had a live pianist and drummer, playing classical renditions of pop tunes, which was such a treat! I for my meal I chose the grilled hanger steak and the classic Cosmo cocktail. The steak was tender, juicy and full of flavor and it was accompanied by potato's and shallots. The classic cosmo was light and refreshing. I was pleasantly surprised, and quite satisfied with the meal. Our server was very welcoming, and she came by to check up on us frequently. Also, the server was very prompt and refilling my water glass, which I appreciated. Overall I had a wonderful experience at the Ivy room and was glad that I could check it out using the Pulsd deal. It's definitely worth it!

The Large room next Door is great stop there first for a drink, spacious windowed view of the city . The Ivy room is small . Must admit we had a deal and wasnt sure what we were getting. Pleasant surprise, The steak with Chimichurri came medium rare as we ordered & was great . The drinks were really extremely tart , but Luckily I love that and took my friends too. The waiter ended up giving my friend her Chardoney on the house when the bill came . Great evening , warning we were next to the band . Slightly loud but nice if you sit further back .

Great place for drinks and maybe tapas. Rooftop is nice, but space is pretty limited. They have a great pianist who will entertain even if the crowd is small. Service was adequate, but could be much better. It was pretty empty when we went but our server kept disappearing. We had to find her to order and then it got even worse. Drinks were pretty good; tapas were just ok. Space was nice and casual.

A group of nine of us shared an awesome afternoon at the Jazz Brunch at The Ivy Room courtesy of Pulsd. Although the afternoon started with a little hiccup, our host, Cheeta (I hope I am spelling it correctly) made our afternoon a pleasure, the service was great, the food was delicious and the Bottomless was amazing. The Jazz duo played nice songs and even played a special one for us and came to our table to meet us. Everyone enjoyed their food choices, my Skirt Steak was perfectly cooked with a Chimiichurri sauce and sweet potatoes. Our next venture will be to come back for the Jazz Dinner.

Was there tonight with a voucher, the service is very good , the food I wouldn't said such nothing to rave about . One antree was burger with fries, which was shoe strings, which I really don't like , the burger is small and did not came with much condiments which it good , you can taste the meat. The other antree was chicken with carrots, carrot was a little excessive, pieces of grilled and purée, chicken not much flavor . The old fashioned drink is good

Amazing! Honestly one of the best steaks I've had in New York City, and a fantastic deal overall. The environment is super cute, and the cocktails are delicious also. Make sure to ask for Triana, the best waitress there! Super sweet. Amazing experience overall.

This place is a slice of heaven between the yellow piano & the beautiful music coming from it, to the top notch service, to the delicious food- I was impressed through & through! Loved my experience here at The Ivy Room

Our server was not familiar with the menu. Table side drinks were not served in the cart at table side. Out of 4 food items, only the hanger steak was good. Mini lobster rolls had good flavor but the lobster was overcooked and chewy. The sea bass was dry and the cauliflower side was burnt. The pork chop was so dry and tough my friend couldn't eat it at all. The server replaced his with hanger but we were all surprised by the food quality. Piano was nice but it was a bit loud which made it hard to have a conversation. The restaurant's decor doesn't have any material for sound absorption so loud music + people raising their voices + sound bouncing off bare wall/floor, it became stressful and not enjoyable. Lastly, we were overcharged and luckily we checked the bill. It was fixed at the end. Overall it was a bad dining experience for our party.

We just left and had the worst experience. Service was terrible, the server was barely attentive, took forever to attend to us. The food was subpar and the drinks weren't great, we did not bother finishing them. The ambience looks nothing like their social media advertisement. To top it off the server followed us when we were leaving to essentially ask for a tip (which we had already left on the table).
