The Jazz Cafe - Review - Beverly Hills - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Cipriani—the high-end Italian restaurant from NYC with a location in Beverly Hills—is now home to a new upstairs bar heavy on jazz music and mood lighting. The Old Hollywood-inspired space mixes zebra-printed furniture, palm tree murals, and a baby grand piano, which sounds like a pretty spunky combination to us. Open Thursday through Saturday for dinner, the club will host live music performances throughout the evening. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Cathy Park

Absolutely fabulous experience! We had an amazing time at Jazz Café by Cipriani — the service was impeccable. A huge thank you to Stefano, the manager, and especially to Chris at the door — the Greek guy — he’s truly fabulous! He’s the reason we came, and we’re so glad we did. Thank you for everything — it was an unforgettable night!

The food, music, ambience - all stellar! The host Xheni really went out of her way to make sure we had a memorable experience. It was my girlfriend’s birthday and it was the perfect celebration. I loved it so much im going back this weekend!

Overall, atmosphere and vibe was very nice, the jazz performance was lovely. However, I was very disappointed with the service and the quality of food. I would say come here for at least a drink, but the staff was not pleasant so I recommend you go elsewhere.

I had high hopes for this place but this is the worst excuse for a high end dining experience. The food was mediocre at best with the exception of the marshmallow cake at the end. Once we got our cake, we ordered another round of drinks, prior to our drinks coming out, we were given the bill and assured that our last drink order was on there. 5 minutes later, as our drinks arrived the waiter had come for the bill to charge us. We put in our cards and paid. ($700 including tip for 4 people) then the manager tapped my shoulder from behind and said we had met our 2 hour time limit but we’re welcome to finish our drinks at the bar. I will say, the jazz band was great and lively.

Wow. That’s amazing. Almost the same menu as in Cipriani, but live music it’s something. They start with quite and relaxing piano and adding double bass, drums and singer. Great energy. Stayed till 2 am.

The jazz bar at Cipriani has a definitely different vibe than the restaurant downstairs, in a good way. The food's pretty similar, but I think the portions might be a tad smaller. The live music is a really nice touch. If you're looking for a quiet dinner, you should probably stick to the maiin Cipriani restaurant downstairs. Service is slower so be prepared.

The cancellation Policy said $25. before I booked. I had to cancel because my date wasn't gonna make it. I canceled 8 hours, so not at the last minute. It instantly charged me $100 dollars to my account. I will never book there again.

Yelp
5 star experience at the Jazz Cafe on a Saturday night! If you've been to the original Harry's Bar in Venice, this place is nothing like it. And that's a great thing. We felt like we were stepping back in time to the days of the Copa Cabana or some other iconic, legendary LA hotspot. The vibe and decor in the Jazz Cafe will transport you to another time and place like Owen Wilson in Midnight in Paris. The only challenge with this place is scoring a reservation. We booked the early seating (apparently it's like NYE here every night with an early seating at 7 and a late seating around 9:30) and there was an incredibly talented pianist playing when we walked in. We could hear every note and still hear every word of our conversation. The acoustics in this spot are top notch. The zebra print banquettes (fabric/faux) were so cool and added an element of play to the space. I love any chance to sit right next to my husband, so I loved that the tables for two had angled place settings so we could sit next to each other on the banquette bench. Once we were seated, our server, John, greeted us right away to get us started with water, drinks, and bread. This may be one of the last restaurants in LA to not charge for bread! I hope they don't change this! John and the rest of the staff were so attentive, helpful, and could sense when we needed something. The level of service felt similar to a Michelin starred restaurant. Impressive. I ordered the Bellini which was absolutely perfect - light and crisp and perfectly peachy - and my husband ordered a glass of red. When a glass of rose arrived, John told him to keep it on the house while he went to find the glass of red that my husband ordered. We ordered the tuna tartare, which was fresh, simple, and delicious, the Gorgonzola gnocchi which was truly the best gnocchi my husband and I have ever had, and the branzino. The gnocchi is a must try, even if you think you're not a gnocchi fan. This was the lightest, fluffiest gnocchi of all time, and the Gorgonzola sauce is still on my mind! The branzino was perfectly cooked and arrived with a well dressed salad. I contemplated asking them the secret to their vinaigrette it was so good! We didn't order dessert, but it looked like they had a lot of great options based on the dessert menu. One thing to note, if you're coming for the full band, John let us know that they get going around 10. The lovely pianist played throughout our early seating, and the band was just arriving as we were on our entrees around 8/8:30. We will DEFINITELY be back (if we can get a reservation!) and we'll probably try to do the 9:30 seating next time to hear the full band.

Yelp
I can confidently say this was, without exaggeration, the worst experience I've ever had at any restaurant or venue. We came as a large group for a birthday, with confirmed reservations for 9 p.m....What followed was an hour-long disaster. First, the door staff was a mess. The bouncer repeatedly told me our tables were ready and sent me inside -- only for the host to tell me they weren't ready. Then I'd get sent back outside again. This happened over and over. When I finally tried to clarify the situation, the door guy got defensive, laughed in my face, and spoke to me with an attitude that was honestly unbelievable. I shouldn't have to say this, but I do not work there -- the staff should be communicating with each other, not sending customers on a ping-pong relay and then mocking them for being confused. After over an hour of waiting, they finally sat us... and the two "adjacent" tables we reserved were not even next to each other. At that point the staff was openly giving us attitude, making faces, acting annoyed that we wanted to sit after being kept standing for an hour past our reservation time. Every interaction felt unnecessarily hostile. Because they seated us so late, we barely had time to order food -- not that anyone acknowledged this. Instead, the manager came over and spoke to us in one of the most condescending tones I've ever encountered in hospitality. He actually said things like, "This is a full-service restaurant. What, you're all going to order one pasta and share?" Sir, maybe if your team hadn't seated us over an HOUR late, we would have had time to eat. The lack of self-awareness was staggering. I should add, I've been to other jazz clubs, but this one was SO LOUD that NOBODY could hear each other speak, not even the servers when taking orders. Most of us had to sit in silence awkwardly because of this since there was no point in trying to talk in that atmosphere. The entire night felt unprofessional, disorganized, and frankly disrespectful. We came in from out of town to celebrate a birthday, and instead we spent most of the night dealing with rude staff, confusion, and hostility for absolutely no reason. I would never recommend this place to anyone -- not for a celebration, not for a casual night out, not for anything. There are far too many great places in this city to waste your time and money on a place that treats customers like this.

Yelp
Five star experience! We were seated on time and at a wonderful table. Our waiter was helpful and always checking in on us! Food and drinks were good but the experience and ambiance made it a truly memorable evening. Love the decor, jazz vibes, and lively crowd!

Yelp
Cipriani Jazz Café is where I go when I want that perfect mix of music, elegance, and fun in Bevery Hills. -- the kind of classy vibe you usually only find in Saint-Tropez, Capri, or Rome during the Dolce Vita. Live jazz, great friends, perfectly mixed drinks, and dishes straight from the Cipriani kitchen -- what else do you need for a perfect night out? Wednesday has become the night in L.A., and the weekends are electric.

Yelp
The vibe of the space is great but the food is actively bad!!! $38 for a bolognese is a choice but then it actually being gross is so unfortunate. Chef needs to take a look at the beautiful bolognese at Gjelina in Venice because what Cipriani served was disgusting. Jazz didn't start till 9:15PM so I would recommend not booking before then since there is a strict time limit on tables. Espresso martini was great, Mr. C cocktail was mid. The rest of my table had very mid dishes as well. It's a fine for drinks & jazz spot - DO NOT ORDER FOOD

Yelp
The Jazz Cafe at Cipriani is an elite experience. My girls night began as we walked the green carpet upstairs to this amazing space that transported us to the glam and eccentricity of the 50s! We were greeted by gorgeous music just before the host welcomed us and arranged our party of 8 in the center of this magical spot. The music is uplifting and top tier. I will say hands-down this is the best service in hospitality I have ever experienced in the United States. That is how exceptional the entire staff is. And you can see it comes from the heart. They love what they do and they're treated well and they exude that with every customer. My birthday was a dream come true .The food, the food, the food. Delicious from the first course the virgin Prosecco that I opted for the delicious main course I suggest the Bolognese and the lamb chops as well as the most delicious birthday cake. I recommend this to everyone get your reservation in early because they're not handing out seats this place is hot.
