Food, Drinks, and Music were good. However, I'm hesitant to return to this establishment for one reason.
Normally, I would not complain about a fellow patron in a review, as it is not the fault of the establishment. However, this patron was established by the performers to be a regular at the establishment. This made me assume that this person and their behavior may be an expectation when visiting the club, and since tickets are bought in advance there would be no way to simply "come back when he's not there".
This patron was an old man sitting in the front row being extremely inconsiderate to the other guests. Touching and grabbing attention from women who didn't want to be bothered (members of my party included, one of our party had to switch seats just so we could feel comfortable enough to focus on the show instead of worrying about what he would do next). Then when the dessert menu came out he shined the flashlight at other patrons during the performance. I observed that it upset people besides my table. He may have thought it was a joke but nobody was laughing, and besides, it's the Jazz Corner, not the Comedy Corner.
I'm upset that I had to ask a waitress to tell him to stop his behavior, instead of one of them doing it on their own. His wife and family also did not do anything to try and stop him. Furthermore, the man got a special request to the band, just for being a regular. What looked like favoritism and entitlement made the establishment feel like an extremely unsafe space, especially for women.
The music was good when I finally got things all sorted out, however it made it hard to truly enjoy every part of the experience when I was on edge because I was worried about my party being harassed. Unfortunately, I don't have confidence that this won't happen again considering the special treatment he got.
This place came highly recommended, and I'm extremely disappointed that my experience was so poor. Two stars may be harsh (I can't give 1 star because everything else was good), but I really need this establishment and people to understand that this type of behavior should not be tolerated, even before my visit.
