A new-generation Jamaican spot rebranding an existing space, as reported by industry news outlets, The Jerk Stop focuses on smoky jerk, oxtail, and fresh juices. Portions are generous, spice is honest, and breakfast porridges nod to tradition.

Everything from the walk into the restaurant to putting the food on my table.....was Excellent! I was greeted in a timely and friendly manner. I ordered the curry chicken and steamed snapper. Portions were on point....and the taste?!?! Was was exceptional. I Goggled "steamed snapper" and Jerk Stop came up (I was leaving work and it was literally a few lights away) and so, I came in. So, glad I did; I definitely will be back.

My review is mostly based on value and a little less on taste. Seeing most of this business establishment's low reviews are the same complaint l have value/price, l hope management will stop asking to be given another chance without allowing for tangible acknowledgment. Sorry is not enough. Well myself and my family were ardent supporters of the previous establishment in this location (Tropical Twist). I stopped going to establishments during the entire pandemic because of very major heal issues and just lately started back venturing out. When l decided this year to seek out a pan of sprat and some king fish slices, l decided driving to Coral Springs for the Sprat for $35/pan as last year was too much. So l placed my order here and was hoping that with all the live videos on Facebook, l would be exceedingly happy. It was nice to see the chef l remember vaguely still there. Tricia is a very pleasant and courteous staff member. So is the owner. I thought since breakfast is served, they would have been open but apparently not till 11:30 a.m. l have to get right down to value! Value is the category where a business succeeds or fails; as is taste of course. My order was a fail specifically in terms of the Kingfish slices. The photos here shows $48 of king fish! Let me repeat; $48 of king fish. Personally, "l" have NEVER seen slices this small. I glanced at the box there but only realized how small they were when l got home and my sister laughed me to another country for stupidity. Had l taken a more critique notice, l would have left it. Even with dinner meals l have purchased recently, a single slice is 2x this size shown here. These alices are 2.5 inches across by 3.5 inches approximately as l measured a few. I DON'T MIND SPENDING MONEY FOR VALUE. BUT THIS IS HORRIBLE. VERY DISAPPOINTED. THEY HAD STOOD TO GAIN A CUSTOMER WHO SELDOM COOKS AND BUYS A LOT. Sprat 4* Festival 2.5* Sauce 3* and limited (my neighbor who ordered 5 snappers from his selected establishment in Pines got the same amount of sauce l got for two orders of fish)! Kingfish slices 0*

During my visit to this Jamaican spot, the vibes were laid back but, sadly, the food didn’t sing the reggae rhythms I hoped for. Our server, a beacon of kindness and patience, navigated us through the menu with the grace of a diplomat, making us feel like we were embarking on a culinary adventure. However, the adventure was more of a leisurely stroll through the suburbs than a vibrant Jamaican street. The jerk chicken was as dry as a stand-up comedian’s humor, and about as unflavorful as a diet of water and air, while the plantains managed to be just passable. If your taste buds are novice explorers in the world of Jamaican cuisine, this place might serve as a gentle introduction. But for those seeking the soulful, spice-infused embrace of authentic Jamaican flavors, this might feel like setting sail for the Caribbean and landing in the wrong hemisphere. With prices that didn’t quite match the culinary experience, this spot’s a great reminder that sometimes, the journey is indeed better than the destination.

Excellent all homemade fresh authentic food. They have vegan options too and there food is Halah for those that may require that. Best curried goat we've had in Florida. The jerk pasta was excellent as well. Portions are large. The owner is a lovely man. We drove 45 mins and it was 100% worth it.

Came in town just to check out a friend’s restaurant and I wish I could just pack this place up and take back to Atlanta. The food was absolutely phenomenal. The vibes were just right and service was superb! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area or just passing through to check it out. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in town.

I stopped by Jerk Spot really craving some soup and decided to try something new, fish tea. I had never had it before, and the staff was so kind; they offered me a sample before ordering. It was absolutely delicious! The service was warm and welcoming, and I definitely left satisfied. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for authentic flavors.

This is what you get as meat in a LARGE red peas soup 2 pieces of bones with fat. Disappointing because the rest of the soup had good flavor. I won’t be going back.

Yelp
While looking for a new spot to pick up dinner we decided to check this spot. This Jamaican spot has some of your favorite items. We ordered a few things for take out and the food came out Fairly quick. Staff were pleasant and grateful for the visit. They are a HALAL spot so no pork. We had the fried chicken with rice and peas, plantain and cabbage . Everything on that plate was really delicious. We order a side jerk chicken which was nicely seasoned and had a good amount of spice. The escovitch snapper with dumplings and bananas were also really good , BUT burnt my mouth of how spicy it was. But so good.

Yelp
Great flavors and very consistent. If you don't like spicy stay away from the jerk. But if you do this jerk chicken has a flavorful kick. The chef is really do something special. I also tried the chicken soup and was not disappointed. Full with veggies & dumplings. This spot is also halal. Will definitely be back to try the curry goat / chicken.

Yelp
Came across the Jerk Spot in Pembroke Pines and we just had to check it out. Obviously, with a name like Jerk Spot, we figured we had to order the Jerk Chicken Lunch Special, which came with plantains, peas and rice topped with brown stew gravy, a soda, and a side of jerk sauce, all for just $8.50. Not only was it packed with flavor, but the portion was generous and filling. The restaurant has a casual, welcoming vibe. You order at the counter, and the lady taking our order was super friendly and made great recommendations for our group. There are plenty of small tables if you want to sit and eat with friends. I'll definitely be back for lunch and can't wait to try more of the menu! Also, glad I got a Jamaican Beef Patty to go too!

Yelp
This place hits the spot on so many levels. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is delicious. The place is spic and span. Even the bathroom was Immaculate. And they have very fair prices especially for lunch. Even my picky grandmother loved their spicy jerk. Chicken can't wait to come back and try to fry chicken. The brown stew is also really good. If you're in the area, you must try it even if you're not in the area, but you're craving some good jerk. This is your place

Yelp
Let me start with the good! I had the rice and peas with oxtail gravy. That was delicious and very flavorful. The cabbage was cooked to the perfect texture. Not too hard, not too soft and seasoned well. However... the chicken didn't seem cooked enough for me. The staff did let me know that they smoke the chicken and check the temperature to make sure it is cooked thoroughly. I just couldn't get over how it looked and the texture. I took it home and popped it in the air fryer before eating and it was delicious. Well seasoned, authentic jerk flavor. I wouldn't go back for the chicken though because of the way it looked when served. Maybe it's just me and what I'm used to. I would try something else there though because the staff was very nice and everything else on my plate was good.

Yelp
The jerk stop is wonderful and amazing. The food is wonderful the places super clean and the prices you cannot beat. I would recommend the spot to anyone. I had so far the curry chicken lunch special, which is under $10 and you get a drink. I've also had one of theirJamaican beef patties, which was delicious. I would recommend this spot to anyone. I apologize. I have no pictures because I ate it as soon as I got it.

Yelp
This place is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ‼ Very professional, polite, friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable staff. I called the jerk chicken pasta what we Yankees normally call it, "Rasta Pasta," and the staff politely corrected me and also offered a bit of education on why they'd prefer it not to be called that. I love the authenticity! I love the ambience of smooth Bob Marley playing in the background. The food was top notch. The Jerk Chicken Pasta was amazing and you guys would definitely be coming back for more; I know I will‼

Yelp
STOP SCROLLING!!!! YOU MUST READ THIS REVIEW!!!! I love everything Jamaican especially their food. I travel a lot, so I make it my duty to eat at a Jamaican restaurant in every city I visit. This place here THE JERK STOP, Yoooo, hear me when I say this is the best yard food I had in 30 years!!! Mind you my husbands a Yardy and he dont like to switch up. D****s was his spot , so I had trick him to try THE JERK STOP food. All I can say now is D*****s lost 2 loyal customers & THE JERK STOP gained 2. To THE JERK STOP Chef, BIG UP to yourself you have yet to disappoint. Every time I come I try different plate of food and each one is equally as good as the last if not better. Chef you are as Ninja Man say ""Reeeeel Bad Man"". I never did a yelp review, but I felt obligated to let everyone know about this food. To the people reading this if you in BROWARD you have to eat at THE JERK STOP. Trust Me!!!
