Discover Hong Kong’s MICHELIN-Recommended Restaurants by MTR: Island Line, Western Section

"Located on Jervois Street, a busy thoroughfare populated by restaurants and swathes of people on the move, the overall vibe remains rather relaxed; the hotel excels in creating a sense of comfort through dark-hued timber, leather, and marble, and rooms are fitted with floor-to-ceiling glass windows to take full advantage of Hong Kong’s magnificent cityscape." - Gloria Chung

The Jervois (Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong) 34 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"While "funky" and "bohemian" might have become the new hospitality watchwords, the dream of glossy, clean-lined modernism is alive in Hong Kong. You know Christian Liaigre for his work in Europe, especially Paris, but his elegant, focused interiors work is on display at the Jervois, a high-end, high-rise, high-design boutique hotel in Sheung Wan, one of the island’s most desirable districts — seemingly hidden in plain sight, surrounded by many of the city’s finest shops and restaurants." - Tablet Hotels

Very good hotel room service! They do their job properly and all the towels, bedsheets and everything are put back to just the way it should be. The concierge is excellent. Angela and Herman are very friendly people and are helpful. Angela is exceptionally nice and polite and makes us feel welcomed. We also had a good farewell from the both of them. I left some oranges and apples, including some tasty berry juice in the hotel room for the room cleaning team and concierge to share. Thank you for the help! - Anders

We were a group of 4 adults who stayed at the Jervois for 7 nights. This was our second stay there and we can highly recommend to stay there. The double room is perfect for a family of groups and the views are great. Not to mention the location which is perfect. Most importantly, the staff led by Angela are very professional and friendly and make the stay truly special.

Come to HK often for work and stayed here for the first time. The rooms are excellent in size and quality for the price, and felt very comfortable. It’s also terrifically located, close to the metro and everything you can want to eat on your doorstep. They say you can get better deals direct with hotel so will keep an eye on that.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay of 4 nights at Jervois. The 1 br suite was clean, well appointed amenities in Kitchen, Lounge, Bedroom and Bathroom. And comfortable/working air conditioners in Lounge and Bedroom. The Customer Service Staff (Joyce, Angela and Tommy) were awesome - attentive, supportive, excellent in communication and recommendation to local attractions. The hotel is located in a safe area, (we walked during our entire stay), close to MTR, eateries and supermarkets. We will be back and highly recommend Jervois.

Google
Fantastic location and great views. The rooms are absolutely massive. This is much more of an "apartment hotel" so the services are minimal, but the room was very clean and staff was very polite. Some of the interior finishes are in need of a refresh at this point but it still looks very good overall.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Jervois and will definitely return when I visit Hong Kong again. The room is large (huge by HK standards), with a beautifully designed bathroom and high-end linens and toiletries. I did not make use of the laundry or fitness facilities during my stay, but they are available to travelers who chose to. The location was also convenient to so many shops, restaurants and cafés, making each morning a breeze. I also appreciated the front desk staff who welcomed me during my very late check-in, and for their help and understanding when issues with my bank card affected check-in and required international calling. Their assistance helped me troubleshoot the issue, and I never felt judged by them when my card was mistakenly declined. I would highly recommend this hotel for the luxury of space alone, but the quality, location and service send it above and beyond!

Quick one night stay, loved the room, lots of space. Very comfortable sleep, more apartment than room, beautifully designed, great shower too. Location was good, lots of cafes and restaurants in the area. We were very happy with our stay, reception staff very helpful.

Yelp
The Jervois / Sheung Wan (Hong Kong) -- After staying in three successive luxury hotels in Taipei, Penang, and Kuala Lumpur, Jamie W and I were in the mood for something a bit more functionally elegant since we were midway through our East Asian adventure. This turned out to be the perfect choice because we ended up booking a One Bedroom Suite with a Queen Bed with my available credit card points. It was really a small furnished apartment with a kitchenette and contemporary West Elm-style furnishings. It would've cost us at least US$255 per night if we paid outright. What's more, they had multiple washers and dryers on the first floor just when we needed to do our laundry. The front desk staff was first-rate with hotel services and local insights, as was the housekeeping staff stationed next to the laundry. There was no fancy lobby here and no need for one. That's what I mean by 'functionally elegant'. The hotel's Sheung Wan location was ideal for anyone interested in hanging out in the hip-heavy Central district. We were within walking distance of some of the best noodle houses, coffee shops, and gay bars. Hong Kong Station, the Star Ferry Pier, and even Victoria Peak were not that much further away. A great spot. RELATED - Exploring Hong Kong? Here's my collection of places I've visited and reviewed: https://bit.ly/3AGgadg

Yelp
Absolutely loved staying at The Jervois. Every "room" is either a one-bedroom or two-bedroom suite, and they are quite spacious. The furniture is showing its age a tiny bit (the couch was lumpy), but everything was clean and tidy and minimalist in design. The kitchen has just enough to be functional (silverware, plates, bowls, glasses, a pot, a fridge, a stovetop, a coffee maker, and a water purifier) so that you can make small meals or bring take-out back to the room. The room is very quiet overall, and since there are only two suites per floor, you never hear anyone else. There is a gym on the second floor, and there are also completely free laundry machines (washers and dryers, three of them, detergent provided) which was amazing! The hotel is located a quick walk from the Sheung Wan MTR stop, in walking distance to all of Sheung Wan and Central, and there are tons of restaurants and bars in the area. There's also a 7-Eleven directly across the street. The staff were all very nice, although the lobby and staff interaction is minimal. If you're like me and you prefer that the staff stay out of your way in general, you'll like it. If you're expecting the staff to be available to cater to every need, you might be a bit disappointed. This is my new favorite hotel in Hong Kong, and I'll definitely be staying again.

Yelp
Hands down giving five stars to reflect how pleasant my stay here was! This is a relatively new, modern, minimalist style hotel. I loved the decor! When i first walked in, i was greeted by two lovely staff at the lobby. "The lobby" was really small, u can really only call it a front desk lol after the easy routine check in stuff, he came out with a bag and said merry xmas! Complimentary gift on the house! Then he lead us to the elevator. So each floor has two flats and two elevators lead to each of them which is nice! Cuz its like ull nvr see the other guests on the same floor. Got a one bedroom suite. Lots of closet space. Very spacious. It was xmas day, so i had some frds over, and im pretty sure we werent all that quiet, but the design is pretty sound proof i guess? lol so no one complained (or there was no other guests). Funny design, theres a back door in the bathroom, so make sure you lock that lol the kitchenette was fully equipped for a simple meal. did i mention the view and glass windows? So pretty. Overall, had an amazing experience during my stay! Will definitely come back when i visit again. Lobby was so packed when i checked out. Hopefully wont be fully booked when i return!

Yelp
This is an all-suite mid-luxury boutique hotel with a minimalist aesthetic. It has great staff; clean, new facilities; and a central location in the Central neighborhood. You probably can discern this from the photos: it's floor to ceiling glass. They have sheer curtains. I kept them drawn. If you don't like to look out and down (heights) or are creeped out that people can see your silhouette moving around, then this isn't for you. The only minor quibble is I couldn't find a power outlet in the kitchen for the coffeemaker. I thought it was weird there was no power outlet there, so maybe it was user error. Highly recommended.

Yelp
This elegant, boutique hotel is excellent. The 1 bedroom suite is compact but very well designed and even has a tiny kitchen. Floor to ceiling windows provide lots of light even on rainy days and interesting views of the neighborhood. The location is great and convenient to many sites including antique shops, the Man Mo Temple, the ferries, SOHO, and the trolley line. The exercise room is full of natural light and well equipped. And, possibly best of all were the friendly, exceptionally helpful staff, especially Kylie. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

Yelp
I have had the great pleasure of staying at the Jervois several times. I love the reception folks (Claire, Tommy, Wing Yan, Alika, Karen) who do their utmost to ensure my contentment. The rooms are large by HK standards (500sf) and an incredible value (especially is paid in advance). New fitness room that I haven't seen because there are far greater pleasures to be found nearby...like every imaginable food option. The MTR station is a 1-minute walk, Hollywood Street is just up Ladder Street, and 15 minutes well spent in the lobby watching Sheung Wan pedestrian life unfold in front of you will do far more for your understanding of HK people than a day of trite tourist activities. Okay, so it doesn't have a bar or restaurant...but you're in HK...for God's sake go out and enjoy it!
