Delicious cappuccino, latte, bagel, almond croissant, you name it. Brandon was extremely welcoming and kind the first day we stopped by. The second time we were served by Murat, who was also very welcoming and a great conversationalist. This is what a coffeeshop should be like. Both baristas clearly know what they're doing, because after a week in NYC, this is by far the best coffee we've had. Smooth, flavorful, and delicious. Not milky, like many places make their cappuccinos. You can actually taste the coffee. The ambience of the place is fantastic. Small but very homey and decorated with goats, per the theme. We opted for the table facing the street. Brandon went for more of an instrumental piano jazz vibe on Sunday, while Murat went for a soulful blues/soft rock sound on a Tuesday morning. Perfect for writing! Today, I got some postcards done :)

Currently I’m an owner of a coffee shop in Wheatland, CA. The Jolly Goat caught our eye just from the name and it definitely did not disappoint. The environment was very welcoming, and as soon as we got to the counter, the barista did an amazing job of taking our order, welcoming us to the area, as well as making an amazing cup of coffee. Our only downside was that there was not wearable merch for us to buy to represent the Jolly Goat while back in California. We will definitely be visiting again during our next trip to New York!!

I was in NYC for work, and had been there for DAYS without a decent cup of coffee. During a lunch break at the conference, I googled coffee shops nearby. This one was not only the closest, but I tell it was smaller and tucked away. Those are almost ALWAYS the best quality places. The barista was also the owner. He asked me how I made my coffee at home, and whipped up a latte for me based on my preferences. He told me how he roasts his own beans & personally oversees the ingredients he uses. Walking back to the conference, I took a sip & stopped mid-step and uttered an expletive because it was just THAT GOOD. Served at perfect drinking temperature, it tasted like autumn joy and happiness. I went there once more before the conference ended, and I was sad I couldn't bring it home with me 🤣

I visited The Jolly Goat back in May when I was in New York and was so excited to come back again this fall! I never thought I could drink my coffee black without any milk but I was pleasantly surprised with their house coffee. It tasted so smooth without a hint of bitterness. I was happy to buy more of their beans. This place is the reason I am picky about coffee now! Also the owner is such a kind person and he is truly passionate about his coffee. It made our day!

My morning coffees were the absolute best! Visiting NYC for the first time and this place is where I started the day. The barista is so lovely and welcoming, the coffee shop has a great ambience and toasty warm on cold December mornings. I really enjoyed visiting here in the morning, started my day off in the perfect way. Thank you 😊

Stopped by The Jolly Goat for a quick break. Small, cozy café — perfect for a short stop. Had a cappuccino and a croissant. The staff was a bit shy but very friendly and the cappuccino was good. Nice, relaxed spot for a quick coffee.

Had a great time at the Jolly Goat! Their H&H bagels are fantastic and the smoked salmon is so fresh! We enjoyed their cold brew and the chai latte was good too! Had a lovely chat with the owner— super friendly guy who’s easy to like.

Wow what a great coffee spot! Not only do they have a ton of flavors from vanilla to chocolate to rose to caramel to lavender, it was enough options to keep my coffee order fun. The vanilla latte and rose latte were both delicious and I enjoyed this brew. The barista was friendly and it was a cute spot to relax. A must visit if you're in the area.

Great coffee with lots of options for syrups and milks! The bagel was slightly burned on the edges, but overall pretty good.

Stopped by recently and got a cortado and a iced latte with lavender syrup. Cortado was overall really good; good creaminess and the coffee itself was well balanced. The iced latte was also great; had the right balance of lavender flavoring with the actual coffee. It's a pretty small shop, so more of a togo spot, but definitely give it a try!

We walked in and were greeted by the owner instantly. We had two of the best lattes we've had in our life. The lattes were so smooth and energizing. This coffee shop is quaint but has such high quality coffee. We will definitely be coming back here for coffee and pastries again! Would definitely recommend to people in the area needing caffeine.

Good coffee, but not a great food selection. I was expecting bagel sandwiches and didn't see any there. Quick spot to pop in and out for a coffee and a quick bite if you need it.

Overall okay place. It's good to have a place with good coffee in the neighborhood. That said, the attitude and ambiance of the staff can be better. The host smirks and shows careless attitude to my order of a toasted bagel with cream cheese. That said, he somehow misses to gut it per request. Overall, it's a bit disappointing service in a hip place.

The best coffee bar in Hell's Kitchen. The coffee is amazing and the owner is so passionate about the process of roasting the beans. I rarely buy coffee, but when I do, this is where I go. It's off the beaten path, but so worth it!

My absolute favorite coffee bar in the area! It is a small, cozy place where you can tell the baristas truly care about the quality of the coffee they produce. This place is an absolute gem- I love their lattes both iced and hot! This place is the definition of simple done right.

Second time here after 8 years since my last visit! A+ cafe in NYC! This place is a hidden gem in Hells kitchen! Great coffee, ambiance and service. It's not overly crowded like other well known cafes in NY. Having sat here this morning, most visitors are locals. They also have WiFi too. It's a small charming local cafe and I'd come here everyday if I lived nearby.

Absolutely worth whatever wait time you're waiting. Once inside that cozy and calm little room, you'll likely see just one person working, but they will put the utmost care into your order. The coffee is always outstanding. As for food, I've only had the bagel with lox, which was decent. This is my favorite place to grab a morning coffee in HK.

One of my favorite places to grab a cup of coffee when I'm visiting NYC. Service is usually excellent and not crowded at all in the afternoon. I like the hole in the wall atmosphere and I'll be back.

This place was a super cute little gem in New York. I ordered and almond vanilla latte and croissant. Croissants we're fresh out the oven and super yummy and the vanilla used in the late was fresh vanilla. One of the best coffees I've had in a long time. The person working that day didn't seem too interested to be there so that is the only reason for the four stars. But I'd go back bc the coffee is worth it!

Local spot Jolly Goat is a super convenient coffeeshop just off 10th avenue in the heart of Hells Kitchen NYC. Locally roasted espresso, and independently-owned and operated, the baristas are always friendly and helpful. Want an alternative milk? They've goat Oatly, Almond, and Soy! Looking for a afternoon snack? Try their chocolate chip cookies - it's one of the most simple, yet best ones around. Oh, it's morning? Try a croissant, bagel, or peek in the fridge for freshly made yogurt or overnight oats. Like supporting local farms? Eggs and yogurt containers from area dairy farmers are in the fridge, too! While super small and limited seating, the Jolly Goat is worth a stop by if you're nearby. Just keep in mind they're current hours- they close by 4pm every day if the week.

I'm not a coffee drinker, but my friend is and she said that the coffee was great... I had a bagel and can confirm, very good. The shop it's self, like others have mentioned, is more of a take away place and their selection of both food and drinks is very limited.

This is a great place, super small so only space for 1 or 2 people to sit in. the coffee and people are lovely, great oat milk late!

I was in the mood to stroll through Hells Kitchen and I saw The Jolly Goat pop up in my view. Cute little coffee shop with some benches outside. I'm so happy I got to visit during my short stay in NYC. I was walking towards the Intrepid and was craving a coffee and this shop came into view. I went with a drip coffee with cream and it was everything I wanted on a crisp Fall afternoon. I didn't try any of their baked goods because I saw that Sullivan St. Bakery was close by, but I slightly regret my decision because SSB doesn't heat their breakfast sandwiches (weird, right?!). I would def try a bagel or something next time for sure.

Qualify coffee in a small hidden gem, ordered a cappuccino, very delicious. Coffee cup size is on a small side for what you are paying for, their size of small is between like a small and short in Starbucks.

TLDR: Great little coffee shop, with solid lattes. ___ I came here twice while I was in NY as it was on the way to the event space I was going to every day. Both times I had vanilla lattes. Once hot and once iced. Both were excellent. They make their vanilla syrup in house. It adds a nice, sweet, soothing flavor to the strong and robust espresso. The coffee is quality. Really good stuff. The staff was friendly on both occasions. The shop itself is really small. But it's in and out, grab and go. Something I'm not used to in SoFla, but perfect for NY.

This coffee bar is small with a fun, hipster vibe. I stopped by for a turmeric latte. This did not taste sweet at all and had a nice mix of spices to compliment the turmeric taste. The service was quick and the barista added some nice latte art on top. Overall, this is a nice and quick place to stop by for a drink.

Cozy little coffee shop with a chill vibe. Only three stools located by the window and a bench off to the side. I ordered a Classic Ice Cream Sandwich and it was one of the best that I had in years. I also ordered a Mocha Latte. It wasn't as rich as I would prefer but nevertheless but it was smooth. Free WiFi

The young man was a bit rude, I'm not an everyday coffee drinker , I didn't know what I wanted right off the bat and he was annoyed by this.... I was the only one in the shop so I wasn't holding up the line. I'll try somewhere else next time.

What a great little fine. A hole in the wall. Coffee shop. Not a lot of places to sit. In fact there's only one, but the vanilla latte with turmeric was fabulous and the guy serving was super friendly. Definitely will be a place to come back to.

Super cute little shop with chill vibe. Got an iced coffee and a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese. The standout, though, was the barista--I think his name was Brandon--who was kind, patient, and knowledgeable. Definitely would recommend!

This is a really cute little shop tucked between apartment buildings in Hell's Kitchen. They have stumptown pre-made coffee to purchase if you want and ice cream sandwiches as well. This place has an amazing cold brew, it's fairly strong with a lasting flavor. One of my friends comes here a lot and mentioned that whenever he is line , his usual order is ready and waiting for him - so great customer service!

Wonderful and quiet cafe which sells a variety of baked goods and coffee. Got a classic ice cream sandwich and cold brew. Ice cream sandwich was frozen individually, making it cold enough to stay completely intact the whole time I was eating it (instead of melting and smushing). Flavors were delicious and ice cream not too sweet or icy. Cold brew was bold and not too acidic. Small window seating area (2 to 3 people) and 2 chair setup with a small side table makes up all the seating. Service was amazing and friendly. Outlets near both seating areas. Only wish there was slightly more space!

ONLY HAVE BRANDON MAKE IT!!! Not the Bald Guy, he had an attitude and was on the phone the whole time. Best Iced Mocha ever if Brandon there.

I really love the coffee. Ordered the quad latte with almond milk ($1 extra). Total came out to $9.20 but it was worth it every so often. The barista was very chilled and cool about it. I like the ambiance inside and the plants outside the cafe.

I ordered their iced coffee, but apparently they only served Stumpton cold brew. The barista was friendly, unlike a lot of baristas at coffee shops and roasteries in the area. The coffee wasn't acidic and went down smooth but I do wish there was the option for iced coffee, as cold brew is always a little pricey.

This coffee shop was super cute! And just what we needed before spending 2 plus hours on a boat! My hubby and I both had this place cook marked after we ate breakfast and wanted some thing warm and with some pep! Aka coffee. The coffee dude was Hilarious and explained to me how Starbucks has bastardized coffee, I really appreciate him schooling me and stoping me from getting something that I didn't know I would want. If we ever end up in Manhattan we will check this place out again. The service was super fast and I enjoyed the very enthusiastic young man behind the counter. The only reason I am not giving this place five stars is because there is not much seating and I wish there was, still a great spot.

Away from the noisy, touristy, and commercial Time Square where people are lollygagging on E. 42nd St., "The Jolly Goat Coffee Bar" is where the locals go for the daily coffee fix. Although this coffee shop offers free wifi, there are literally four (4) seats inside and a small bench at the storefront. However, most patrons take their beverages to-go. Wow, I was blown away by the Brooklyn-brewed Dona chai. Nothing was wish-washy. The flavor was concentrated, yet the balance of each spice that was involved with the brewing process was still distinct. They serve Stumptown Coffee. I believe they were originally from Portland, Oregon. However, they have branched out to Seattle, New Orleans, Los Angeles, and New York. Hubby had the cafe au lait. Umm...what a smooth cup of coffee! Overall, it was nice to visit a indie coffee shop in another city. Hubby and I may make it back here before heading back to Chicago. If not, farewell, The Jolly Goat.

The Jolly Goat Coffee Bar is a tiny coffee shop in Hell's Kitchen brewing Stumptown Coffee with a smile. The workers are hilarious and the coffee really good. My latte was top three lattes in the city (and I have ordered many over the years!). They also sell pastries, but most aren't chocolate (I am obsessed with chocolate). If you want a grab and go coffee shop, head here!

Wow, I am embarrassed to say that I have lived in the area for 5+ years and have only just visited this coffee shop. It is a very small shop off of 10th avenue so definitely would not have passed this on a normal day - but it popped up on my yelp and wanted to check it out. They have any coffee your heart desires and it is all so fresh and brewed in house. If you have any questions about the products, the owner is so knowledgeable and has VERY high standards for coffee. In addition to the coffee, they also had some DELICIOUS smelling pastries that were just being taken out of the oven. This is definitely worth a stop if you're in the area, or can spare the time. There isn't much seating (basically zero due to COVID), but there is a lot to see and do in the area that you probably wouldn't want to sit around anway.

Hands down my favorite cappuccino in the area. Real baristas serving real coffee brewed properly. The even have an option to add CBD, which might be cool Idk. And if you have the patience, consider trying the pour over.

We stopped in here b/c 1/3 of our party sleeps later than us and needed breakfast. it's ok. I can always drink another cup of coffee. The place is small...just big enough for the 3 of us and the regular customer who likes to talk ALOT to the other customers. The guy behind the counter was frickin awesome. So kind to us; hilarious with the regular customer and so helpful to the gaggle of Texan women who bought cups to go. He gave them great directions to where they wanted to go. He treated all of the customers the same = with kindness and smiles (A+ smile, too). Atmosphere is an A+. My iced latte was delicious; husband's breakfast tea was great and 1/3 ate his bagel and iced tea without talking which means he really liked it. I would go here again and again.

Best coffee shop in the neighborhood. Murat and team carry the best coffee and lots of other special items. Huge fan of their homemade granola and overnight oats. (Arrive early if you want an egg sandwich) They carry some locally sourced products as well. Love the service and their commitment to the neighborhood. Even over the past year + of change and uncertainty, Jolly Goat remained a constant in HK.

Yes yes yes! A new favorite coffee spot in NYC. Always looking for good coffee in the vicinity of our Thanksgiving weekend location and this hit the SPOT! So much that we went back twice. 10/10!!!!!

Just moved to Hell's Kitchen and was looking for a new coffee spot to go to and this place failed miserably. Extremely unfriendly white guy that made me uncomfortable the moment I walked in and gave half-ass answers to the questions I had. Ended up getting a cold brew and a chocolate chip cookie which was sweet but a good balance to the coffee. It's a shame I won't be returning to this shop again.

The Jolly Goat Coffee Bar offers Stumptown Coffee, as well as other hot/iced drinks, teas, ice cream, bagels, turnovers, croissants, turnovers, brioches, and other baked goods. The hubs and I stopped by here on our way to another bakery, and the sign for the Dona Chai caught my eye. This chai tea concentrate is made in Brooklyn, and it is served with your choice of milk. I ordered a regular-sized of those, with half and half - I was pretty disappointed with this drink as not only was it not temperature hot as requested, but it was extremely watered down! Considering that it was made with a concentrate, I thought the chai taste would be a bit more stronger and more concentrated T____T Staff was friendly, and there is limited counter seating (3 seats) and a bench. On a side note, when we were there, there were some accessories teacup Yorkies running around, in and out of the kitchen (I'm sure that's a health code violation), and being aggressive towards other patrons' pups (please curb your pup!). In response to the owner's comments: +Teacup Yorkies present that morning = not service dogs as they did not don a service vest +The owner's (Mr. Murat's) private messages were not so nice T____T +the Dona Chai was still watery T____T

Coffee tastes awful and the service was unfriendly. I recommend you go elsewhere. There are too many great places to waste your tome with this one.

A coffee shop that serves Stumptown?! Yes please! There are 2 bar seats that face the window. Other than that there's a bench for (probably no more than) 2 - but you won't want to sit there since it's close to the line where everyone places their order. They have your basic loose leaf tea, pastries and coffee of course. I got a latte with almond milk - the 50 cent up-charge for the milk - but it was worth it! So delicious! Other than that I didn't see any other eat options - no lox as other reviews mentioned, but I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area!
