"This great, year-round, roving film festival takes up digs in the town’s most historic spots, whether it’s outdoors at the Bird Sanctuary, on the lawn at Rosecliff Mansion, or inside the classic Jane Pickens art-house theater. The website updates often for the latest films and locations."

The people at the theater were great. Saw 2 concerts there. The lower seats have been upgraded and are comfy. If you are anything more than average height and weight I would suggest staying away from the balcony seats.

Travellers, this is a jewel of a movie theater in Newport. Out on the sidewalk is the ticket booth and it immediately brings you back to another time when going to the movies was an event. It is lovely inside and I love that they offer everything you would expect from a movie theater and then a lot more. Gourmet peppermint patties which are delightful, especially when paired with the Pinot noir the theater sells. It was a yummy experience. They run classic movies, independent movies, documentaries, live performances, and so much more. It is a wonderful venue with fantastic programming. That being said I would love to see the balcony and sit up there for a performance sometime but I think they are still in the process of restoration. The location is beautiful on the common in downtown Newport, the service is very nice and with a smile. Get a glass of wine, a homemade peppermint patty, and enjoy the experience. It is worth the trip. Check it out. We recommend.

We had gone to see Cinderella for it's anniversary! The theater was beautiful 😍 while the seats were not comfortable I would not go see a movie like wicked or something. It was still nice seeing a beautiful old fashioned theater

Lovely small venue with historic and local flair. Great seats on the center aisle. Lucked out and found parking in the lot behind. My only complaint is that people were coming and going throughout the show and every time they did, the light and sound from the lobby carried into the theater.

I went to see the 50th anniversary of Barry Lyndon with a friend. The film theater had a very colonial feel including the town of Newport. Enjoyed it very much and I would go again

a decrepit theatre that we did not feel safe as it was our first and last time. the seats were very uncomfortable and the staff is extremely rude. yes each and every one of them as if they all had a chip on their shoulder. It's definitely not an asset to Newport or the area unless new management comes in and revamps the place along with the staff

It's such a delight to see an old time cinema still around. Maybe not as posh and upscale as a modern megaplex but it has way more soul and a friendlier staff. Nice to go to the movies and actually feel welcome.
