On the Grid : The Juice

"The day The Juice opened, the whole world knew Atwater Village was serious about being an LA neighborhood hipsters could settle down in. This mom and pop shop is as good as any of the pillars of the juice community you’ll find in the beach towns or Silverlake/Los Feliz. They even have a super cool bike cart for mobile sales and they deliver too. Try a #4 and feel the tasty fire of the triple ginger!" - Brains on Fire

Google
Had the carrot apple ginger as a smoothie with coconut based ice cream (I think). Was apprehensive if this flavor combo would be any good as a smoothie, but it was absolutely phenomenal. Well worth the $16 price tag.

Google
This place is incredible. Has many delicious things that you can have made on the spot. My personal favorite is the black lemonade. Super freaking fire!!!! Gotta try it yoe.

Google
Their juices are pretty good. They’re like $10 per bottle. The only con is that is hard to find parking.

raffi hatamian

Google
Been going here for a few years juices are decent but really overpriced. My problem is the way that they handle the points that you should be receiving on every purchase. Personally I think they’re not being truthful and honest because recently every single time I go there they tell me either I have no points left or it’s less than whatever they told the previous time. Not really happy at all and thinking of stop going to this place.

Google
Just ordered the 'Defend Cleanse' for delivery tomorrow morning! I live elsewhere than LA but it is a real service to know I can gift these juices to my son while he is too ill to go out! He will have to give the quality review but I give 5 stars to the young ladies who graciously helped me after the store was closed!

Google
Can be pricey but I’ve never been disappointed

Google
Straight up my favorite juice place in LA, hands down. Everything always tastes so expertly prepared and fresh. Everything is great, but the smoothies are my favorite. Love the way they do them.

Google
I went to their location in Grand Central Market. I had a #13 juice and it was incredibly delicious. I will return, even though it's a hefty price tag ($10 +tax)

Yelp
There's nothing better than fresh juice. I've had the opportunity to try The Juice at both Atwater Village and in Grand Central Market. Neither visit has disappointed! These juices are made freshly onsite and they have a wide variety of choices ranging from greens to carrot/coconut. I ordered the #13 both times: strawberry, apple, and coconut! So refreshing on a hot afternoon. The shop also serves up acai bowls, smoothies, and 'milk' based drinks. I tried my friends green milk and it was both unique and tasty. Great alternative to a milkshake. Next time I want to try the charcoal lemonade. I hear it's a great detox!

Yelp
Been going to this guys for a quiet sometime. The juices are OK but my opinion overpriced, which is not their fault. It's a choice. I can go somewhere else, but as far as the points that they offer every single time I've been there there is some issue and they tell me I have no points so I would say they are not being truthful for the points that you should receive

Alyssa R.

Yelp
Disappointing. I thought they made their juice fresh the day of like straight handed to you, I didn't realize they were pre made from days before. Might as well gone to Whole Foods to get one off a shelf for the price they have. Worker at the front was sweet though.

Yelp
I needed lemon juice for an event. The staff and owner at the Juice were incredible. They said, yes right away when every other place said, NO. The order was ready when I arrived and the juice was perfect. The staff are super friendly, and thank you to the owner for being so helpful and kind.
google avatar

Yelp
Ok so this place isn't cheap but the staff are consistently lovely and I always walk away happy. While small, the shop feels very clean and cool inside. It's a go-to spot for me if I have low blood sugar or just need some quick fuel. The chocolate almond milk( it's like a refreshing dairy free version of chocolate milk) is what I usually get. I will continue to drop by for the combo of good vibes + good juice.

Yelp
Time & Date: Sunday, 6/13/13 @ 6pm Crowd: Not busy, near closing Ordered: The Juice #10 ($10) #10 -- ORANGE GRAPEFRUIT ORANGE LIME I was under the impression that this juice shop fresh squeezed the juice on order, but instead the juice was already prepackaged in a bottle. Had I known that, I wouldn't have came to this spot. Also the juice wasn't even cold, it was room temp! The flavor of this juice was way too sour, I felt like I was drinking lemon juice. Totally don't recommend #10, try another drink from the menu!

Yelp
It was super hot so I really wanted a refreshing smoothie. Luckily, The Juice popped up on Yelp and it was also the closest one to where I was at the time. The menu is quite confusing so I had the cashier walk me thru the process... You select a bottle of juice from the fridge and then select an ice cream as base. I got #9 which consists of strawberry, pineapple, orange, cucumber, and beet and blended the juice with coconut almond ice cream since it was supposedly the least sweet. The smoothie came out to be $13, which is quite pricey for what it is. Smoothie was good and got the job done. However, I was extremely thirsty afterwards because of how concentrated the fruit juice was. I could still feel the residue of the juice in the back of my throat lol and I think that's because of the high sugar content.
google avatar

Gary L.

Yelp
TL:DR - high quality juices and an AMAZING smoothie for quite an expensive price. Casual spot in Atwater village. Walk up was quick and service attentive and fast. Parking is pretty difficult on the weekends, so consider parking in the neighborhood and walking over. I got the "9" since I like pineapple. The juice itself was earthy and naturally sweet, a little underwhelming for $10 but thats pretty standard for cold press juice. The real star is the smoothie. Add some money and they can turn it into a smoothie. She recommended adding the cashew vanilla cream and this made the smoothie AMAZING. This is the winner and worth a return in the future.
google avatar

Melissa W.

Yelp
Cute little spot. They social distance here so only one party is allowed in at a time. I got a smoothie bowl which tasted delicious. The smoothie bowl was with some vanilla cashew ice cream and Goji berries. My boyfriend got a juice and we got two algae shots. Everything was a little on the expensive side, but I'm not surprised. Everything we got totaled out to about $36. It was just what I needed on a hot day. Definitely cannot afford to do it every day but I would like to!
google avatar

Francesca M.

Yelp
The Juice is my favorite place to get an iced blended coffee. It's really expensive but so worth it.
google avatar

Margaret P.

Yelp
UGH. I wish I could say I like this place, especially because of the location, but I just couldn't get myself to like this place. I was looking for an Acai bowl while headed back to Glendale from LA and this place popped up. Although not an Acai bowl place, it looked appealing, so why not? My friend and I walked into this place and they had one person running the store. My bowl came with two toppings and if I ordered more it would've came with more. The store got a little busier, so I didn't even bother looking at the receipt of what I paid for, but was was surprised that I got charged extra on something that was already expensive. The smoothie that it came with with icy then mushy within seconds. I just can't justify paying about $14 for a bowl that wasn't satisfying. I'm sure their juices are great, but be going elsewhere for my bowls.

Heidi M.

Yelp
I love going to The Juice. The drinks and smoothies are always delicious. And today I had an especially lovely experience there. Kiazi took my order and made me a fabulous smoothie. And he was exceptionally kind and gracious. He really made the visit especially wonderful.

Yelp
Awesome juice bar located in Atwater Village. Delicious raw juice and other nutritious items that are perfect for everyone. Juice tastes fresh and the blends are great.
google avatar

Felicia R.

Yelp
I needed some fresh juice to pair with my sandwich while at the Grand Central Market so I preferred the #12. It was pretty and delicious. I could really taste the ginger which was awesome. I highly recommend jt - I selected it because I was looking for a juice with both ginger and turmeric. This hit the spot!
google avatar

Jane L.

Yelp
I came in for a juice knowing it was going to be expensive, but a small blueberry chia bowl caught my eye and suddenly I felt hungry. It was $8!!!! The cashier already inputted the price into the system and I didn't want to be rude and ask her to remove it. Juice is delicious! I think I convinced myself the chia bowl tasted extra good because of the cost. Small business need to pay rent on this block, so I'm happy to support!
google avatar

Yelp
The menu board outside their storefront has apparently been wrong for over a year now, as it lists a green juice with kale, coconut, date, and some other stuff that, every time I see it, I wanna try, but every time I ask inside, they don't have it. Finally, today, the cashier said, "I don't think we've had that in awhile..." You think? Change your sign, The Juice. It's been A YEAR. For the first time, I decided to try something else, because their nut ice cream flavor of the day looked pretty good - cashew spiced with cinnamon, turmeric, and nutmeg. I ended up being okay with it because I like those spices, but the texture of this ice cream is nowhere near ice cream - it's like half halvah and half mashed-up nuts with something tacky on them. Decent flavor and a generously sized scoop, but I know nondairy ice cream can be worked with to have a better mouthfeel than that.

Yelp
In love with this place!! The vegan ice creams are to die for!! Specially if you are low sugar/ sugar aware like me ;-) Also, their smoothies are fantastic. You choose a base (almond date banana par example) and then throw in your favorite juice (I do a green juice usually). They leave me so full and satisfied! I crave a The Juice smoothies once a week!!
google avatar

Hajin C.

Yelp
I honestly love this place. I come here often to get some sort of decadent sweet tooth craving fulfilled. I love this area of Atwater, it's just a really cute spot with lots of little boutique stores, bookstores, thrift stores, and most importantly, bomb FOOD! The Juice is awesome bc they have pressed juices like any old juice place but I swear their juices taste fresher. They just taste cleaner to me. I love ordering a juice and then picking a non-dairy ice cream and making a shake or smoothie out of it. It's soooo creamy and filling and you don't have as nearly as much guilt as you would drinking a traditional milkshake. The one my friend and I got is the tumeric juice with cashew vanilla ice cream. It's really filling and delicious, highly recommend!
google avatar

Colton L.

Yelp
My partner and I are on Whole30 currently which makes buying anything from a restaurant/food spot nearly impossible due to the additives, etc. BUT Elizabeth and the team at The Juice made our day when they knowledgeably explained what was in every thing they made at the shop. We bought two pints of the vegan ice creams (all really tasty) and some smoothies which tasted like milkshakes (minus the guilt). If you're on a restricted diet this is your spot and we walked out eager to return!
google avatar

Debbie K.

Yelp
I love the fresh juices here! You can see all the fresh ingredients in there open kitchen. Some of my favorites are the Almond Milk Cold Brew and most of the green juices. The bottles are numbered on the top for easy shopping. I live in the east side-as in east of the 605 so it's always a treat to come out here for fresh juices.
google avatar

Navita P.

Yelp
Had dinner at Dune and saw this juice bar next door. I tried their Lemon poppyseed Cheesecake and it was delightful. It was a good treat to reward myself with after hiking at Runyon ! Willow took her time to explain about their products. I'll be back to try the vegan ice creams !
google avatar

Yelp
Good spot for fresh healthy juice. Wish they allowed you to customize your order instead of only selling pre-bottled recipes -- one would think that is the benefit of walking into a store with staff onsite with ingredients -- and if they did, I'd go more often. That said, the combos I do enjoy are delicious. Pricey but that's what you get for fresh organize juices. For covid-safety measures-- It's a tiny shop but they limit capacity and require masks. People can wait on the side walk until there's enough room to go in the store.

Megan S.

Yelp
Bought water here that had a bug & turned yellow within an hour of having it which had never happened before & I've had the same water they sell & let it sit for 24 hours in the past without this happening.
google avatar

Ayesha I.

Yelp
Beautiful juices and smoothies but the service is supremely slow. There is only one small blender and one employee staffed to take your order, make the smoothie, and charge you. The store should consider adding a second blender and a self checkout system for their bottled juices. Hiring an additional employee would also help reduce wait times.
google avatar

Sierra S.

Yelp
I wish I could have got a sample before buying a 10$ juice just because the juice was way to spicy and I didn't know it would burn my throat like it did. I understand why I couldn't take t back after opening it but I wish I could have got a sample before waisting a juice and my money :(
google avatar

Sophia C.

Yelp
Omg. I ordered a smoothie bowl and seriously LOVED IT! I didn't even know that their 'creams' were dairy free. I was in a rush to find a place near me that sold smoothie bowls before going to work and stopped here and really fell in love! It was so tasty and filled me up! Will be coming again to try more things out! I had the banana and almond cream with strawberries and pepitas. At first glance I felt like there wasn't enough toppings but then once I started eating realized it they had added more that was provided it probs wouldn't have been as enjoyable Soooo- totes check the out!

Yelp
Love coming here especially when Chelsea is here. She gives off good energy and always makes me feel 100x better along with my #13 juice.

Yelp
I am a big fan of the juice, and try to come here every morning or every other morning and it's always the same thing. The sign reads Closed well after 8am. I swing by here before my physical therapy for some juice, and at 9 a pop, it's pricey but since it is prepped already and you're not supposed to wait - at least that is what I understand the concept to be - I'm game. BUT WAIT A SECOND...they do make me wait! I really dislike when a business is inconsistent about their hours. It makes it difficult to continue to patronize them. I won't do it anymore. Time to find another juice place. I stopped going to whole foods for that very reason-the wait was inexplicably long! Looks like you've lost a cool 45 per week The Juice. I'll miss your juice but not coming to your store to wait around until you're ready to sell me something...so ridiculous. They must be making so much money if this is their business model. Just sitting here writing this review there were 7 people that approached the door to buy some juice and left after noticing the door was locked. Maybe I will open a juice place that serves these early birds...hmmmm.

Erica E.

Yelp
Hate to give bad reviews to local businesses, but this is the second time we've been here and the second time they've run out of something we ordered and didn't inform us until we got there to pick it up. I gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time, but after informed us they cancelled the pickup order (they didn't), I realize this place is just poorly managed and their customer service is totally lacking.

Yelp
A-okay. I wanted to feel healthy in the morning so, I wanted to have some juice for breakfast. Came to this place after the farmers market on a Sunday morning. Parked on the street couple of blocks from this place. When I got in, the place is small, no seats indoor. It is pretty much for to go. However there are seats outdoor. The menu is on the wall. Variety from juice and milk. I was hesitated on what to get. So, i finally pick number 11 which was blueberry, cranberry, apple and kale. 16oz for $9. I thought the price was worth it for something healthy. I ordered it and to my surprise the cashier grabbed it from the fridge...... I looked at the blender display on the counter... thought they make fresh juice on the spot but, i guess not. I asked the cashier if they make the juice here since, it was already bottled. She said yes. eh... now i felt the price was expensive for bottled juice. I like seeing how my juice is made and also I didn't know when those bottled juice was made. All the nutrients could have already be less effective when consume. But it was tasty.
google avatar

Ilana g.

Yelp
Love the smoothies! The juice is amazing! My favorite juice spot by far. I'm a regular for sure. I only wish they had the nutrition info available. Also, I love that they use e-mail now instead of physical punch cards that I would lose all the time.
google avatar

Marie G.

Yelp
I haven't been to other The Juice locations, but this shop is fairly typical, if not smaller, than other juice places I've been to. All the juices are kept behind the counter on shelves and you just ask for the # you want. $10 per juice isn't too bad considering they buy all their ingredients fresh and (I'm assuming) organic, but the price is definitely a reason I don't come here regularly. I haven't tried any of their smoothies but both the juices I've tried so far (I've only been here twice) have been refreshing and definitely hit the spot. Although, I did try #4 today and it was a liiiittle too gingery for me, but what should I have expected from a "Triple ginger"? Also, it would be awesome if they served açaí bowls - I would come here all the time!
google avatar

Anastasia D.

Yelp
i really hate getting # 13 because it tastes SO good and is SO smooth that I drink it immediately and then I just feel like I ate a $10 bill I can never justify spending $9 on something im going to drink so fast because it tastes so good but it's so worth it I know it's worth it but I'll still knock a star off because if the juices had pricing variety I would probably be there more often but man are they good also you should tip the dude because I bet no one wants to drop an extra dollar when they've dropped so much but he's really friendly and nice, once gave me a punch card that already had 3 juices punched out, overall a darling
google avatar

Mauricio C.

Yelp
My friend suggested this place for some good juice. Oh boy should I have said no... This place is really aesthetically pleasing. Their decor, and theme will draw you in for sure! Once you're inside that place is like a freezer ( I suggest bringing a jacket. ). The drinks are really expensive, for already packaged drinks. I ordered the strawberry coconut. The drink was very flat and tasteless. I had no idea there was strawberries or coconut in it! Nine dollars for a drink that tastes watered down, is not a drink worth getting.
google avatar

Aurelio B.

Yelp
This review covers the bowl and preparation. Not the juice. 1st time trying this place out and was really looking forward to it based on the reviews I found. I was in the mood for a bowl and I've never tried anything this establishment offers so I thought why not give it a shot. I'm not a huge germ guy. But you assume if someone prepares your food they've washed their hands or will wear gloves when needed. The young guy helping me out took my bowl to the back area and I could see him cutting my banana with bare hands. When he noticed I was looking he put gloves on to pick up the banana that he had already touched without gloves and placed it in the bowl. I found that odd. Why put on gloves after the fact? The bowl had no consistency. I thought I was getting a smoothie. It was melted. I was drinking it rather than eating. Mostly liquid in a bowl. I was hungry. Not thirsty. But maybe that's how it comes. I could be unaware. I'm still new to these juice restaurants. I order juice frequently and wanted to try something different. I'm giving it 3 stars because the stuff in the bowl did taste good even though I mostly drank it
google avatar

Yelp
Alright y'all, so at this spot they got "the juice". And every other juice shop on this strip of Glendale knows they gots to recognize. So ain't nobody in the juice game steppin up to them. They got the juice that'll make yo knees get loose. They got the juice that'll put the grip on yo neck like a thick ass noose. They got the juice that'll make you drop that deuce (this might actually happen). Man they even got the juice that uh... Looky here, they just got the juice! Corny rhymes aside, this is a cool little juice shop in Atwater. I haven't seen any other in that area so it's basically the only place you can do the "LA thing" around there. By "LA thing" I mean dropping a ten on a goddamn bottle of juice. You know, it's quality as they all claim, so the prices are justified. Personally, I don't mind paying a premium every now and then for some cold pressed juice. The bottle itself has appeal because of its simple yet stylish design. Most unique is that although they're doing the same thing as all the other chain juice shops in LA, I like that they're operating in isolation from the city buzz. I guess that extra star came for location. The shop is small but the bold JUICE sign displayed outside is noticeable enough to signal anyone down. As a matter of fact I used that as an indicator for finding Dune next door. So grab yourself some of the best falafels in town and wash that down with one of these fresh pressed juices.

Yelp
First time checking this place out. I'm a total sucker for organic drinks, so I knew this was right up my alley. I'm a little under the weather, so I wanted something to give my body a boost. The cashier was helpful & recommended some drinks. I was skeptical to buy the ones she recommended because there weren't any samples available. I just went with #10 because it sounds really good: orange, grapefruit, lemon, lime. It's packed with vitamin C! Got the smaller size (8oz) because I wanted to try it out first. Definitely fell in love! The drink is awesome; totally wish I bought the larger size. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I think the 16oz is over priced. $10? Jez... but overall, not a bad drink to have maybe once a week, but not daily.
google avatar

Rachel U.

Yelp
Of course I would get the MILK at the JUICE. So typical of me. But it was the BEST. Coconut Almond Milk, to go with that Proof Bakery pastry you're going to snag across the street! Saturday mornings are now complete. But I do advise, go to the JUICE first, and then Proof. So you can drank your drank while you wait in line at Proof. I'm almost positive the amazing artwork on the JUICE bottles were created by Kevin Lyons. I saw him post it on his Instagram and it made THAT much more sense that he designed those awesome labels! Low key half of the reason why I bought these bottles in the first place (hehe). Place itself is small and no seats, only order and receive order and go to Proof Bakery. Do as I say and as I do. Kthxbye.

Yelp
We had the coconut-date and coconut-green tea ice-cream. After getting used to the fact that it wasn't sweet, we noticed how delicious it was. The texture is thick and creamy, and it feels satisfying to eat. I got my fix for a treat with zero guilt because all I had eaten was literally coconut and dates! It was healthy, good for my body, and yummy! I could have eaten a lot more. I will definitely start eating here every time I come to Dune.

Yelp
Prices went up AGAIN? Come on guys, something is wrong with your business model. Juice is good. The ice cream is really the only stand out here. I also stop in sometimes for a lemon/ginger/cayenne shot that sets my tummy straight. The frequent customer punch cards used to mean buy 11 juices or something and get one free. Cool, right? Then they changed it to one punch per VISIT. Fine. I didn't balk too much at that either. But I stop in the other day for a l/g/c shot ($3) and I'm told I can't get a punch for it. MAKE UP YOUR DAMN MINDS GUYS. I'm not asking for free shit, but if it's one per visit, it's one punch per visit. I've come in to buy 5 to 10 juices at a time @ $9 a pop and got my one punch and didn't complain. Now you're going to put a minimum dollar amount on what I have to spend? Not cool. Just do away with the freaking cards altogether if you can't manage some modicum of actual customer loyalty. I went in again today and prices went up another dollar. Again? $10 now for a juice? Thank you for inspiring me to buy my own juicer. I literally decided to drop $300 to save myself from ever having to deal with this place's nonsense again. (also, there's a decent new juice place on Hyperion & Griffith Park if I'm feeling lazy) Their ice cream is good though.
google avatar

Angela S.

Yelp
I have become obsessed with this place as they are right next door to Dune, which is some of the best Mediterranean food in town. My boyfriend and I like to head over to the Juice and wash down our falafels with a coconut almond smoothie with banana date cream we add cacao nibs and almonds which add a delectable crunch. We also tried the green milk which is delicious. It's a pretty small spot though and they don't have al the mix ins and ingredients you might want but so worth a try!
google avatar

Ana Maria M.

Yelp
The juice is delicious, loved that triple ginger--but the dude working there last Sunday couldn't have been less helpful. I wanted to try it and he said there wasn't one open, so my friend who works a few doors down had to open HER juice. He was like, "Are you gonna pay for that?" Man needs a talking to.
google avatar

Stephen P.

Yelp
Great place, staff always very kind and helpful. Highly recommend trying the #4 as is OR as a smoothie (with Banana almond ice cream) -- you won't regret it.
google avatar

Lucy T.

Yelp
The persimmon ice cream is the best! The prices are great and the person at the cashier was very nice!
google avatar

Cristina A.

Yelp
Yes its pricey but HELLO you're buying fresh cold pressed juices that are made fresh daily! Its awesome here! I have yet to have a bad experience. Yummy healthy juices and friendly staff!
google avatar

Codi R.

Yelp
My favorite juice place. #4 triple ginger is the best juice. But my favorite dessert of all time is their coconut almond milk made into "vegan ice cream" with coconut and date. The best.
google avatar

Jennifer G.

Yelp
I gave this place a try when I decided to buy my daughter a fruit juice. First off, do not go in here expecting to pay Jamba Juice prices. Second, the juices are bottled (I was pretty surprised when I saw the guy pull the juice out of the fridge and not put fruits inside the blender) BUT the juice was great. I got the #13. Strawberry, Apple & Coconut. It was great. Only reason I didn't give it 5 was for pricing and the fact that they're not as fresh as you'd think. But 4 stars for taste.i
google avatar

Keith I.

Yelp
Just came here for the first time. I saw smoothies on the front window. I thought I would be getting fruit inside but instead it was a combination of juice, cashews, cinammon, and two huge scoops of vanilla ice cream. That is not a smoothie. That is a shake. I couldn't even taste the Cinnamon. I had someone else try it and he didn't taste it either. In addition, only two of the listed 4 shakes were available. Cost? Around 13 with tax. Very over priced. Service was super nice though. I don't see myself coming back. Maybe the juice is better, but then they really shouldn't focus at all on smoothies.
google avatar

Shannon C.

Yelp
I got the #6 juice which was perfect because I wanted the veggies with a bit of sweetness from the apple. This is exactly the juice I wanted and the staff was very helpful and friendly letting me try another juice first. The pressed juicery in Pasadena is just as good for $6, I thought the price tag of $9 was a bit steep, but the product is still great. Next time, I'll try some of the other drinks if I find myself in the area again!
google avatar

Jamie E.

Yelp
Wow. Juice is gooooood. Strawberry coconut juice with coconut-date ice cream = perfect smoothie! Also tried the #10 - pure delicious citrus - OJ, grapefruit, lime and lemon. Perfect ratios bc nothing was overpowering and it was so refreshing! Caution: each bottle costs $9! Adding ice cream is another $3. So be ready to splurge.
