There’s a lobby bar serving everything from morning coffee and a light breakfast to beer, wine, cocktails, and snacks, and when the weather permits, guests gather in the garden around the firepit. So impressive was the makeover, in fact, that there’s a Netflix series documenting its proprietors’ second project." - Tablet Hotels

The June Motel is such a quaint lovely spot. We only stayed for one quick night so unfortunately did not have an opportunity to enjoy all of the amenities however our stay was 5 star all the way. We were warmly and enthusiastically greeted upon our arrival. We got upgraded to a better room unsolicited. Our room was so cute and immaculate with everything we could possibly need. The ability to text staff with any questions was much appreciated. The young woman who was working replied quickly every time and was full of information - anticipating our needs. We would DEFINITELY return - HIGHLY highly recommend the June Motel. Such a quaint, homey, cozy vibe 💗

This was our second stay at The June Motel and our third visit to Prince Edward County, and we love it more every time! We were so pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to the beautiful Rosé Suite, which made our stay even more special. Later in the day, we met Tahira, who was incredibly kind, warm, and helpful — she assisted us with our complimentary bikes, set up the fire pit with s’mores in the lobby, and even offered to take photos of us. Her positive energy and genuine care truly stood out and made our stay unforgettable. We already can’t wait to come back next year — The June Motel is such a gem, and they’re so lucky to have someone like Tahira on their team! 💕

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The June Motel with my 86 year old mom, and overall, it was a charming experience! The retro vibes and aesthetic make it a perfect spot for some Instagram-worthy photos. Plus, parking was a breeze, which is always a plus when you're traveling. The breakfast was simple yet satisfying, featuring delicious muffins, yogurt, and coffee to kickstart the day. It’s just the right amount to enjoy without feeling overindulgent. However, there were a couple of downsides. The mattresses could definitely use an upgrade; they were a bit too soft for my liking. Additionally, the air conditioning unit was quite loud and placed high up, making it difficult to adjust the settings comfortably. The bathroom fan was also noisy, and I could hear quite a bit of movement from the ceiling above, which was a bit distracting. That said, the highlight of my stay was definitely Katie at the front desk in the morning. She was incredibly friendly and provided fantastic tips about the area, including recommendations for shopping and dining. Her suggestion to visit a nearby winery was a gem we might have missed otherwise! Overall, The June Motel has a lot to offer, and with a few tweaks, it could be even better. I’d recommend it for anyone looking for a fun and retro getaway!

My wife and I had a quick getaway for a night to celebrate our anniversary. The June motel exceeded our expectations. Pictures online were great, but in person , was even better. The staff were very friendly and Katie welcomed us and gave us some great advice for some local places to eat. We can’t wait to stay again. Fresh coffee and baked treats in the morning was a nice touch!

My parents and I stayed at the June in Picton this past week, and it was just phenomenal. Our room (the deluxe suite) was spacious, comfortable and so beautifully decorated. The grounds of the property were picturesque. But the best part of our stay was the staff. Every single staff member we met during our five day stay was kind, thoughtful and an absolute pleasure to get to know. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at the June for such a wonderful stay!

Amazing experience as always. Staff are very pleasant ! The rooms are super cute. Only recommendation would be sheer blinds for the bottom floor rooms so we can have natural light but people constantly walking by can’t see in. Overall a good girls trip!

Our stay at the June Motel couldn’t have been better! They made our anniversary extra special as soon as we checked in. We watched a gorgeous sunset from the property, and when I asked for recommendations for a restaurant we were given a list of great places, and ended up finding the perfect dinner place! We felt very welcomed and comfortable and I would absolutely return for some s’mores by the fire or drinks in the lobby.

We absolutely loved our stay at The June Motel. From the moment we arrived, everything felt warm and welcoming. The complimentary glass of rosé at check-in was such a fun and nice touch. Our room was spotless, super cozy, and full of retro charm with modern comfort. Can’t beat a sunset view from bed or enjoying a scone and coffee on the balcony for breakfast.

Yelp
The decor of this motel is super adorable and the staff is super friendly. We got the rose suite so upon arrival we got. A. Glass of. Complimentary rose which was nice. I'm giving this place a 3 instead of 5 because it is VERY expensive, like double the price of motels actually on the water and that's just because it's been on TV. This motel has no pool and no ice machine, because of these 3 reasons I don't think it's worth the price. The bugs outside were also VERY BAD which is to be expected but they are attracted to light and there's no option to turn off outside light so everytime we opened the door at least 100 bugs would fly in! Adorable decor, friendly staff , Complimentary s'mores and bonfire each night. Broken tv, no pool, expensive No ice machine

Yelp
Welcome to the June Motel! The Instagramable friendly motel, which we were definitely influenced to check our after watching the Motel Makeover show on Netflix for their Sauble Beach location. If you're a fan of the show, then it's a must. Also be ready with your phones out to get all the pics! Perfect for a girls trip. Free rose (or non-alcoholic drink) on check-in. The lobby is super cute, but tinier than I had imagined. They also have an outdoor space with a fire where you can enjoy smores in the evening. It was smokey and rainy during our stay, so we did not use the area. Options for contactless check-in and check-out, with lots of text reminders. Check-in is at 4pm with no options to check-in earlier (we tried though!) The place was not that busy when we were there, but I imagine it could get pretty loud and busy in peak season. The room is definitely cute! All the essentials included, including the best body oil. Beds were ok and the noise machine was a nice touch. It's a bit of a splurge for a hotel room, but definitely check it out if you want to try out something different! Looking forward to checking out the Sauble Beach location in the future!

Yelp
What can I say, the rosé all day vibe just isn't for me. There is something about a trendy business that thinks it's so precious that feels to empty and depressing. Too much money for what this is, looking for a more warm and personable stay for my next trip.

Yelp
This motel was a cute spot to stay in PEC. It was central (close to downtown Picton), super clean and had contactless check in and check out. There was complimentary wine cans in the fridge and a very nice communal space with a fire pit. The staff communicated with us through text and they were very prompt to respond if we had a question. All communication with staff was done through text but it still felt personable. One of the reasons I was drawn to booking at this place was the decor. I loved how they designed the rooms and the care they book into the local products they supported through the body care and hair care. Another feature: the June motel teamed up with a local coffee shop so every morning, we would grab free lattes, on the house. It was a nice surprise. I only have one reservation. The walls are thin. On the first day, there was a large group in either the room beside us or above us and we couldn't sleep because they were loud. I would bring ear plugs.

Yelp
Over promised and underdelivered. This is a motel first and foremost. The Art Deco trim work and embroidered pillows do not cover the some annoying and inconvenient truths. It is noisy. The walls are paper thin and as such you could hear every cough and comment from those next door. Above room number 2 we were treated to 1:00am to 2:30am tap dancing show turned track and field meet. The white noise machine (that should be the foreshadowing of the evening to come) did not stand a chance against this bedlam. Your best travel companion for the June ... industrial quality earplugs. You would think that your premium rate, outrageously high considering you are staying at a 60 year old RedRoof with pink doors, would come with a high level of customer service. Guess again. A call to the front desk goes unanswered. They prefer, insist, that you communicate with them via email and text. I imagine you can see a trend in this review by now. If you are blessed with personal interaction it is to have bestowed upon you their premium "rules". No personal drinks (pop included) on the limited patio. They don't want to miss the opportunity to gouge a little more money to purchase another embroidered pillow or white noise maker. Perhaps they could throw some cash toward a mat for the bathroom floor. Oh, by the way, one car per room please. But, if you happen to have someone join you with their own vehicle, the June has a convenient arrangement for parking a mile (1.6km) down the road. Enjoy your walk back along the highway dragging your suitcases. Summary, Pink lipstick on this pig.

Yelp
Extremely overpriced for what it is. The room was musty, the sink did not drain, and the toilet did not flush properly. The septic system malfunctioned and had to be pumped steps from our door. Needless to stay, it smelled like sh*t. Staff were indifferent and cold. We expressed our extreme discontent at the various issues and were given a $20 bottle of wine and some truffles as a consolation. Tip to management: a double bed is no longer an acceptably sized bed for 2 people - let alone 2 double beds for 4 people in one small room at nearly $400/night. Get it together, please.

Yelp
Honestly I was reminded of my stay here when I saw the new netflix show... I can't express to you how overpriced this motel is for what it actually is. Sure it has some cute design features however, structurally you can hear everything through the paper thin walls. The beds are not only tiny but they are uncomfortable - none of us got a good nights sleep. The floors are so creaky and old that you wake up the other person walking to the bathroom. The air conditioning was poor as well.. just so many flaws that a cute design doesn't make up for! There was a big sewage truck directly in front of our room one morning.. hardly glamorous or instagram worthy. I wish I had read reviews before I stayed. My friends and I couldn't believe we paid for that experience. This is my honest review of the two nights I was there.

Yelp
Yes, this is a motel! It reminded me of a chilled, hipster motel on the beach of south Cali with its modern interior decor. Renewed from its traditional motel setting the owners of this place did it right! Set in tranquil Prince Edward County overlooking the Lake On The Mountain this place sits in the midst of cottage country. A taste of modern Bohemia in the 'country'. Where it's neighbours are, wineries, breweries and a National Park. The set back is that there is no full service dining. Staged similar to a hostel where the lobby has a cozy couch do seating, bar area and a fire pit --all communal style the bar menu is more extensive than the food menu. There are pop up events otherwise, food is a drive away. Check-In is super friendly and you can't help but chat away with the staff and those that are in the lobby. You can't help but notice cute wine decors everywhere and think...GIRLS WEEKEND--perfect for the ladies who does not want to rough it! A great place to unwind with good wine and good vibes! Cheers!

Yelp
My four friends and I spent two nights in honor of my bachelorette in the largest suite they offer and we were expecting a lot more. The room was cute but the beds weren't very comfortable and only one room got air circulation. The charcuterie we ordered for arrival was pretty good but needed more crackers. The biggest disappointment was that the fire pit closed every night by 10pm at the latest, or so we were told, only to see that they kept it going until 10:30 for some guests. We bought water in the lobby the first day without issue and when we went back to buy more on Day 2 we were told that we should never have been sold the water by the other girl working there, as they were only for yoga classes held there. As a result, I tried drinking a club soda that I had bought, on their patio/deck area, only to be told (quite rudely) that I had to leave as I wasn't allowed to consume any outside food or drink. They were also super annoyed about making any of us coffee in the morning, yet failed to replace all Nespresso pods except two, when they cleaned the room. I will say that there was one employee, Carrie, who greeted us at check-in that was awesome and gave us wonderful tips for enjoying the county, including directions to a private beach nearby. She also pre-arranged for a cab service to pick us up for dinner. If only she had been there more! The rest of the staff seemed like they disliked working there. Overall, I'm sad to say that the Instagram spread doesn't match reality. I doubt I'd ever stay there again.

Yelp
I am so pleased and happy to write this review. My good friend and I have been wanting to come to the June ever since we saw that an early Instagram post. We've been following the two ladies who opened this very very cute millennial aimed Motel since it opened. With all of the many basic girls it's seem to go here and the Instagram influencers making their post we were more and more nervous leading up to our stay this past weekend. Although we had high expectations we also had low expectations in order to not be disappointed by her stay. However our expectations were met and exceeded. The staff, especially Jenna, were absolutely amazing. So warm, genuine and down-to-earth. We would sit in the lobby and just have a chat together multiple times a day. Jenna was great and offering suggestions of what to do and gave honest opinions on ideas that we pitched her. The room itself was exactly on point the beds were comfortable and the room had all the amenities that we needed. You have to keep in mind that this was an old motel so soundproofing was not exactly a thing and there was a bachelorette party above us so Saturday night was a bit noisy. Since there's not really any nightlife in the nearby towns, it was great that the motel had an outdoor space with a gas fireplace music and drink options so that you could just hang out near your room. All the cute little details and touches and the communication style ( you can just text the Lobby) were really appreciated. I would definitely recommend this place to stay and hope to one day be able to come back.

Yelp
We were looking forward to our stay here to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday. However, the attendants at front desk were extraordinarily unfriendly and unwelcoming when we went to check in. They seemed annoyed with any question I had, my mother was in a lot of pain and I wanted to find a massage parlour in Picton. They told me there weren't any, which isn't true and suggested I go to Belleville. The manager case later to clean our air consisting unit and apologized when I told her our experience thus far. She said Kaleigh and Braedyn are in training. Nonetheless, a pleasant smile and a warm disposition should come naturally and for these two ladies they do not!! We've travelled extensively and we have not encountered such unwelcoming people In reception before this stay. Also, the walls are exceptionally thin. We were in room 7. I'd suggest requesting an upstairs room cause you can hear every footstep or better yet, stay elsewhere. This motel isn't inexpensive, there are plenty of better options!!!

Yelp
We were very lucky to find this darling gem this weekend while visiting pec. We stayed in June's charming 'Rosé Room' and it was at most definitely a perfect set up. Lots of room, a large balcony patio perfect for catching some serious sparkling sunsets on the water. We were greeted with a glass of Rosé (of course) upon checking in and the grounds and rooms are picture perfect to say the least. Every chic detail has been taken care of by these very down to earth ladies, they have thought of it all in a very eco-friendly fashion. The mood is set for r n r in every way. They have a daily happy hour for guests to enjoy visits from local artists and foodies if you fancy a join. They have an impressive selection of wine and bubbles on call to make your stay even sweeter and some tasty treats to pair with. Everything was stylishly designed and meticulously fresh and clean. We honestly felt so at home and look forward to our next excuse to come back. Kindest thanks from a grateful June & Gary!
