This Idyllic Town in Canada Has Water So Clear, It Looks Like the Caribbean

"Tucked on the shores of Lake Huron in Sauble Beach, the June Motel felt like a celebrity midcentury outpost — a refurbished, 1970s-meets-Instagram spot that Netflix documented in Motel Makeover. The A-framed lobby’s bright white walls and warm wood ceiling enclosed a blush-toned coffee bar and shop, a sitting area with a longboard and rounded leather couch, and an employee even poured us coups of rosé when we checked in. One evening an owner and friends invited us to a fire beside the gated pool — there was wine, tea, bundled s’mores supplies and blankets — and our room opened via a sliding glass door onto the pool, its walls lit by a neon pink “good vibes only” sign. In the mornings an oatmeal-and-fruit breakfast was waiting at our door, and the property offered more rounds of s’mores, a hammock, and lounge chairs by the pool that made the slow pace exactly what we needed." - Kelly Dawson

"Style La vie en rosé Setting Lake Huron hangout Explore More hotels in Sauble Beach More hotels in Canada Bygone summers are the blueprint at The June Motel Sauble Beach , a restored Seventies stay that’s five minutes from Lake Huron’s white-sand shores. Retro-accented rooms sport blush palettes and hammock-strung balconies, and rosé flows under pastel-striped parasols by the pool. A New England-inspired seafood restaurant and nightly s’mores round the fire pits further ramp up the nostalgia, with welcome contemporary additions in yoga sessions and Ontarian wines. Here, the good old days have received a glow-up. Get this when you book through us: A bottle of wine in your room on arrival" - Mr & Mrs Smith

We stayed at The June Motel in Sauble for a girls trip and had the best time! The whole place has such a cool retro vibe and everything felt really relaxed, fun and easy. We especially loved the pool, the breakfast pastries and cozy nights around the campfire with included s’mores. The body oil in the guest rooms was also a heavenly touch that my sunburned skin appreciated! All the staff were super friendly and welcoming and Hayden was especially amazing! She was so kind and helpful, and really made us feel at home. We’re already planning to make this our annual girls trip!

Such a pretty and thoughtfully designed motel — every space has its own charm and cool vibe. The attention to detail is amazing, and the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. Everything from the rooms to the pool to the restaurant was spotless and so well maintained. A special shoutout to the girl who helped us with our fire at night — I didn’t catch her name, but she was so warm and kind, it felt like chatting with a friend. Would 100% recommend this motel to anyone visiting the area. Can’t wait to come back!

If I could shell out $1,000++ easily for a 2 day stay every summer here, I would. Is it worth the hefty price tag? I’m still undecided, however, I do enjoy the full experience and the fact that you truly never need to leave the grounds if you don’t want to! I believe the price tag comes with the amenities (beautiful pool, fire pit, outdoor movies, updated beautiful rooms with balcony or terrace) and a delicious restaurant. On top of that, you are a very short 4 minute walk to the beach and all the stores and restaurants at the strip. Each time (twice) I have come, it has been torrential downpour and I STILL had a good time… so I guess there’s my answer to the first question! 🥰

Celebrated 8 girls 50th birthday for two nights. Start to finish a fabulous experience. The welsome drink, the amazing breakfast and the cucumber melon water were such great bonuses! The coffee cups and all around decor were amazing! We will be back for our 60th!

Horrible waste of money , paid almost $600 for 1 night stay , check in isn't until after 4pm but check out is before 11am ??? Breakfast is a banana ,lukewarm coffee ,room temp yogurt and croissant. How does that equate to $600??? Pool menu is made up of $35 mac n cheese and $80 steaks . The pool is equal to a full nursery/daycare centre , so noisy definitely not what's pictured in marketing gimics. So many other options in town to stay at half the price. Will not recommend or return.

We stayed at the June for one night stay to celebrate a 50th Birthday and we were very impressed with the level of service, the comfort, cleanliness and style of the rooms and public areas such as the fire pit terrace and pool deck. I forgot my electric toothbrush and they messaged me shortly after I had left and they promptly mailed it the next day. I give this Motel 10/10!

I am just reviewing prices to pay for a motel room 1200 for 1 night 2 days that is really expensive like sorry yes you made and built motel building have great food and drinks but as a single person I wouldn't be able to pay that. great location - service but by the look of it def. reduce your prices a bit.

Google
Place is nice, but for $1,200 two night stay not even worth it. Plenty of other options and VRBOs to select from. This place is for people how want to be flashy/ and don’t go out often. Very sad to see for over priced this is. Hope they last.

Yelp
Girls day out. We booked 2 nights. This place is newly renovated. You will be greeted with a glass of rose wine when you checked in. The staff are very friendly. Fire ban in effect in Ontario so there is no bonfire. The weather was cold but they have a heated pool from 8am-8pm. Free breakfast from 8-10am. I loved the bed and the towels, quality linens. Rooms are cleaned everyday. They have a casual fine dining restaurant with a patio, open to the public.
