We visited for the Friday night bonfires on the beach and had a great time! Kids loved the beach and there's a great playground within walking distance. I got cold and was happy to find sweatshirts and beach toys for sale in the shop. Concession stand with food and a beer garden onsite as well.

We along with our grandson had a great time at the beach. Being a week day the number of people were less. Beach was quite clean and we could walk from the entrance on the mat . It was very thoughtful of the authority.

Friday nights in June 2024 - bonfires. We will be coming to every one of them. The owner is very friendly and personable. Staff is all very kind and helpful. Chill vibes. Soft music playing. Inside the shop is very cute. Rentals are available and there was no shenanigans or bad behavior. Just good people chilling out. Very nice. New favorite summer spot in Kenosha

When I was a kid. It had a concession stand then, and am happy to see one open again. Had the roast beef sandwich, and was impressed with the serving size, was served on a great bun, with giardiniera. (Please get hot giardiniera as an option!) Worth the price. Definitely coming back.

What a beautiful place! Can't wait until their doors are open, and kickboxing and yoga on the beach start!! They also have live music, a bar, a concession stand, all the beach rental equipment you'd ever need, and the cutest beach shop!! The beach is so clean, and the views are beautiful!

The renovation is complete and it’s open for business! They have a charming gift shop, food, rentals, and a full summer schedule planned. Come for the beach and stay for the free concerts and awesome atmosphere.

Nice place. Appreciate the efforts of the establishment to create fun activities. I would like to suggest improvements to next years luau. I waited an hour and a half for food missed alot of the show. FOOD TRUCKS. Charge them a rent fee to make up for your loss in profits of your food sales. Lastly I saw the angst for the ladies bathrooms. The line was ridulious long. PORTA POTS. I am hoping to watch next year's luau, appeared to be fun.

Yelp
Pretty relaxing beach to walk along. There aren't that many people and you can really just sit anywhere to enjoy your time there. The water is nice and blue with beautiful rocks on the sand and little to no trash.

Yelp
So I attended the lakefest sat night. Not much there. 1 food vendor. And over 230 parking tickets were issued! Most for "parking on the grass"! So where did the city, who approved the event, the police who issued the tickets, and the event coordinator think these couple of hundreds of people were going to park? Someone from out of town, like myself, thought that since all the folks with WI plates parked on the grass, it was allowed for this special event. There was over 125 vehicles on the grass! But not everyone got tickets! When the meter maid left for the day, no one continued writing tickets, so 5 cars around me had no tickets. As well as many others who arrived later in the evening. So no one thought much about the parking situation until now, and there's hopefully many more people complaining about it!

Yelp
Wow! Kenosha is so lucky to have this gorgeous stretch of beach, beautiful park, lighthouse museum and the big red beauty of a lighthouse that is photographed by many. When I was in town, my sister and I walked the beach searching for beach glass. Not only was it relaxing, we met several friendly people enjoying the last moments of summer. Always clean and cared for, Simmons Island is a destination for locals and visitors alike. They have built a great little play area for kids and have recently added extra parking. I love Kenosha's lakefront and only wish I had appreciated it more as a kid growing up here. Now that I live in Chicago, we share the same Great Lake. But Kenosha's beach and park are so much more accessible. I visit Simmons Island every time I'm in Kenosha no matter the season.

Yelp
This is a beautiful, clean beach. The sand was super soft and free of sticks, insects and debris. We visited during the off season on a weekday and there was barely anyone at the beach, making it very easy to spread out and enjoy. The lighthouse is super cool and there is plenty of space to roam and get those steps in. My favorite part of this beach is that the is tons of unique rocks and beach glass. I would definitely recommend a quiet afternoon here.

Yelp
It was a chilly, windy, beautiful Sunday. I love taking my little on adventures. Our adventure lead us here. The waves were intense. The wind was sandy, but we enjoyed our time here. We will definitely be back in warmer weather! It's hard to believe this is Lake Michigan. The water just looked different here. We enjoyed the sculptures on the other side as well. It's a great little day getaway. They have a park as well up the hill before get down to the water.

Yelp
By Chicago standards this beach is pretty clean except for the people who can't clean up after themselves. Waves are strong and high so it's a good place to learn how to surf the baby waves or boogie board. The light house adds a nice view and the bathrooms are not chemical toilets. It's also in an area where you don't have to take your life in your hands to enjoy (unlike Chicago's beaches)

Yelp
Im so spoiled by the white beaches of Florida, it's hard for me to even call this a beach! BUT- this is the best "beach" in Kenosha. Easy parking, a nice pavilion that sometimes has really fun events, and perfect views. Sometimes the beach can be a little dirty (with litter), but besides that it's fantastic!

Yelp
I like this beach, but unfortunately pple leave cigarettes all over it making it a bit less safe for little kids. I've also found broken glass from beer bottles in the water.

Yelp
This is a wonderful beach!! Clean, Easy parking and I recommend going to farmers market in town first then bring cooler/food and drinks to beach after. We are going to come here more often! We are so glad we found this place.

Yelp
Decent beach for quick day trip with fam. Little rocky. Free parking. Park for kids to play. Plenty of grassy area to BBQ and hang out.

Yelp
First to review?? Odd to see no reviews for this beach, it's a popular place. We started visiting Simmons about five yrs ago..bringing our son here because of it's easy parking, access and local amenities. The beach itself tends to be fairly clean and it's combed daily in season. The further north you go down the beach, the cleaner it tends to be. The south (fat end) portion of the beach which is closest to the pier and original bath house gets sloppy, and seems to attract the hoods. We used to go into the water frequently but the beach is changing shape here, as are many beaches in the southwest corner of Lake Michigan. We stopped in yesterday and I was shocked to see at least half of the beach now consumed by Lake Michigan, and that was on no tide. At this rate the north end of the beach will be overrun by the lake in 5-10 yrs time.

Yelp
Very well kept beach. I used to love walking it in the early morning looking for beach glass etc. until recently. The beach grader insists on running me and anyone else walking along the water line off the beach. He makes it a point to grade into the water. He actually was done grading one morning but when he saw us he came down from the bathhouse and re ground the same area, running us off the shore....very ridiculous!
