The Kentish Hare

Exceptionally good food and great atmosphere! I dined alone as i was travelling through, but I enjoyed being in what seemed to be a very familiar and welcome environment. Would highly recommend it and I'll be back for sure!

Absolutely terrific meal from start to finish. The smoked salmon starter was beautifully balanced and elegantly presented—light but full of flavour. The ox cheek pie that followed was a standout: packed with a deeply rich, high-quality filling while still managing to look great. Finished with a fantastic cheesecake that played with texture and flavour in all the right ways.

Great food and service, relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere. Probably my favourite place to eat in the area. Only minor feedback is that we were in the bar and it was a bit draughty with the door being opened regularly. I would request to sit in the restaurant next time.

I saw that someone else said the menu was limited in these reviews, I'd say that what they put on is extremely well cooked and presented and hope they never change. Long menu's always hint to me that the food isn't well-prepared. All I can say is we delighted in the choices and immensely enjoyed our Sunday lunch, we didn't go traditional but had some fresh Hummus for starters, followed by trout fillets and finished off with apple crumble, the whole meal was a delight and the service was excellent. We will be going back soon. It was a bit more expensive than usual as we had a couple f glasses of Champagne and some wine. All in all, I'd highly recommend you go and give it a try if you haven't done already!

This is a beautiful pub, one not to miss if you are in Kent. The interior and garden are equally well-done, with a really tasteful decor. Drinks selection is fantastic and the bars are done up very nicely. It's dog friendly in the bar too which is brilliant.

Experienced their valentine s day tasting menu and it was absolutely delightful. Very relaxed atmosphere too, cosy and enjoyable. Staff were kind and professional. Thumbs up will definitely return to try our their daily menu too.

In a part of Kent with lots of good pubs, The Kentish Hare still stands out as one of the best, if not The Best. Food is superb and the service is faultless without being stuffy. And beautifully refurbished with great atmos. PLEASE come to Fordcombe and take over the Chafford Arms!! Beautiful pub with even better view than KH, BUT in desperate need of the "Kentish Hare touch"! You'll make a fortune!!!

The Kentish Hare is an upscale Gastro-pub! It is light, airy, with a lovely back patio. The food is definitely NOT your grandfather's pub fare! It is all locally sourced and the preparation and taste is excellent! Our party tried the lamb chops, the Cornish Cod, and a fantastic cauliflower risotto dish. Everything was fresh and tasty. The lamb in particular was melt-in-your-mouth tender! The number of vegan and gluten-free options was notable. The service was very friendly and accommodating for the party. The wine and drink list had ample options and price points. The overall costs were reasonable for the quality! So, if you are in the area, this is well worth a stop!!
