Google
Great customer service. The food was delicious. I love the cajun french fry. Garlic noodles were good. I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. 🌹🌹 Thank you everyone for working very hard. I would definitely come back here.

Google
This is a good place to savour seafood, specifically crabs and different types of shellfish. The ambience is warm and appropriate for the cuisine and the interior sitting space is big enough to accommodate a fair amount of diners. We ordered two types of crab leg preparations, a clam dish and fish fry. All items were good in taste and freshness though I must say that the size of the crab legs has become much smaller and less fleshier since our last visit.

Google
Service is great! Make sure you count your add ons as some of ours were missing but they were really happy to rectify this. Staff are truly amazing. The garlic noodles are good too! Free drink refills too!

Google
The portions are huge, which is great. On top of that, it was also tasty. Overall, a good value since we had to take home a large doggy bag.

Google
They offer a vast variety of delicious food. I enjoy eating here. Staff members are always friendly, pricing is fair and the place is always kept clean. Eating here was an unusual experience and I would recommend visitors to know a few things before they enter. They serve cooked crab/lobster/etc in a plastic bag with all the gravy in it. They don't serve spoons, forks or even plates. You need to be comfortable eating with your hand and its going to get very very messy. Despite being busy, the staff did an excellent job making sure that we had everything needed to feast! Along with the appetizers, we ordered the kickin combo deal #1. For a family of four, all of this food was more than enough; we underestimated how much food was going to be in the seafood bag. Overall, the food is a little on the saltier side. We loved how thinly sliced the fries were, making them extra crispy. Calamari was excellent; they were crunchy and tasty. We wished we substituted the garlic noodles for another order of calamari! The garlic noodles became overbearing after the first bite; I wouldn't recommend it. We would come here again.

Google
The food tasted great, and the experience was amazing. We ordered the Kickin' Combo Deal #3, and it was a good amount of food for 4 people. The staff were very friendly. Make sure to try the michelada.

Google
Quick, delicious and full of flavor. While visiting California this is our go to spot every time. The food Is so good, the service is great and the speed of these meals from order to table is beyond your expectations. Great place to dine in with great options , everything is delicious 😋

Google
Delicious and messy fun! I hope they don't cook shrimps in the plastic bags, only serve in them. The sauces are very tasty, 5 kinds with 4 levels of spiciness. The idea of sharing of 4-5 lb bag of seafood is also uniting and friendly way to spend time with your people.

Yelp
The wife really likes this place. When I walked in I noticed they have sharks hanging from the wall and people have written all over them, pretty cool inside. When got the spicy cajun blend. Very spicy! Very thing was really good. We left full and ready for a nap. My only issue was the staff could have checked on us more. They were nice and all but waited a while for refills. Parking was ok.

Yelp
Some highlights: - Kickin Style Medium spicy is my favorite. It has the right amount of heat, but is edible and flavorful, so you can really indulge. - The restaurant itself has a cute nautical theme - You will get messy, so the hand wash stations outside of the restrooms are very helpful - Dungeness crab is sold whole (not just the legs) and that's not specified on the menu. On that note, when you order a pound of crab, they'll charge you for the weight of the whole crab without notice, so expect to be overcharged. - If you don't like eating shrimp with the head and vein intact, order head-off shrimp. Head-off shrimp are deveined but come with an extra $3 fee. - Be mindful of signs notifying customers that To-Go orders won't be corrected once you exit the restaurant. They make mistakes frequently and will argue with you over it, so check before you leave. - To-Go orders are given to you with the bags untied and unlabeled which results in a potential mess and confusion. - Despite the clumsy service, I keep returning because the shrimp is just that good!

Yelp
1. Can't order online. If you call, you have to try 3x or more before someone picks up. Short staff. 2. Food used to be good here but our last few orders were bland, not as flavorful as it used to. 3. Service is ok, need more staff in my opinion.

Yelp
Wanted to give an upated review as of 08/2025. This place got a little better, but please do not order their garlic noodles. It sucks. As for the seafood boil, we got a mix of all the seasonings, medium spicy and chose the 1st combo (2 lbs shrimp 1 lb crawfish). It was enough to feed 4 girls! The spice was there and this time it wasn't super super watery. I would say there are definitely better seafood boil places like cajun bistro 7, the crab bay, and clawshack. However if you're lazy to drive to these places and kickin crab happens to be near you.... just know it wouldn't hit the same! Service was ok, we weren't really checked on too much and only had our water refilled once. The employees there didn't seem too happy to work there. It was a Friday night as well and the place was half empty. So there's your sign that it's prob not as good as other places lol

Yelp
Really wanted to love this place since both Hubby and I love seafood boil but we gave this place two tries and besides their garlic noodles (huge garlic lover here) their seafood boil was lacking flavor. First time we ordered their shrimp with Mild Kickin' Style but there's barely any taste to it, so the second time we tried their shrimp with Spicy Kickin' Style. It was spicy but besides that there isn't much flavor to it, maybe it's just us being used to heavier seasoning. Also added on extra seasoning which only came in tiny little sauce cup, not really worth the price. Overall, think we would only get their garlic noodles to go in the future.

Yelp
Love a good seafood boil any day! We went late on a Wednesday night and it was not crowded at all! The shrimp is good, but the kickin style sauce was not as good as the other location (capitol). If this location is closest to you then this is great, but if you do not mind driving south san jose, I would recommend trying the Capitol location.

Yelp
Still my favorite seafood boil go to when I'm back in SJ. Nothing has really changed since my last review, I still feel the same, service and all. The kicking style, with all the sauces with the combo number 1 is my go to. Coconut sea snails are so good you can't get them anywhere else. Plenty of tables to sit at, there's a couple of sinks so you don't have to go all the way to the bathroom to wash your hands. HIGHLY RECOMMEND coming here.

Yelp
Sad because this was once my favorite spot to order (what's advertised as) live crawfish. Today I put in an order and received a bag full of spoiled dead crawfish. I was instantly put off by the grey green color and cleanliness with the crawfish. I gave it a taste and was met with a strong ammonia flavor that filled my mouth . I opened a few more for good measure and all of them are grey green and mushy. The crawfish were definitely rancid and I'm sad that the restaurant felt it was a wise idea to serve this to their DoorDash customers.
google avatar

Ngoc L.

Yelp
This was my first time at Kickin Crawfish, and it was very disappointing. The crawfish were extremely small, mostly just legs with hardly any meat. The little meat there was had turned black, smelled bad, and seemed spoiled--like they were dead before cooking. On top of that, the food was overly salty, which made it even harder to enjoy. The only good thing was the Cajun edamame, and the customer service was okay. Unfortunately, the overall experience was unacceptable, and I won't be returning.
google avatar

Rae S.

Yelp
Sauce is too watery to coat the seafood. Lacks flavor. This location is not as good as the So Cal locations. Garlic butter sauce has so much garlic cloves, I was excited at first but it was bland it's just garlic cloves in butter. Disappointed in food. 8/2025
google avatar

Roselyn D.

Yelp
I love how the garlic noodles have so many garlic chunks. Definitely get it if you love garlic! We got the combo #1 ($60) to share between 2 ppl and it was the perfect amount of food with some leftover. Surprisingly a lot of seating/no wait and a nice place for a last minute dinner
google avatar

Yelp
Found a rock in my what's supposed to be 3lbs order today. Wonder how many more rocks there are in other customers' bags. Told the manager and the end and they said "okay".

Yelp
I've been to many Vietnamese Cajun spots in the area, and this one is my favorite. I really enjoy the flavor of their sauce, and the seafood is always fresh. The servers are friendly, and the atmosphere is super relaxed -- we can talk and laugh as loudly as we want! No one complains because honestly, everyone here is loud and having a good time.

Yelp
I went there two weeks ago on Sunday with my family. The food is fresh. The service is good and smooth. My son and daughter loves this. It was a good family dinner.

Yelp
I have always wanted to try Kickin' Crab because of its popularity and as for my first time, I was a little disappointed due to the lack of flavoring. We got cajun fries, 1 lb of crawfish, 1 lb of shrimp, and sausages. For seasoning, we went with kickin' style and mild for our spice level. Perhaps the lack of flavoring was because of the mild spice level. The cajun fries were seasoned but it was also lacking some flavor. Although the food was okay, the service was good! They made sure to check up on us and also asked us if we wanted to order anything else before the kitchen closes.

Yelp
Unfortunately, this place is just not what it used to be. The last time I was here I noticed a change in the flavor of the food, but was hoping that it was a fluke and there was someone new in the kitchen. But unfortunately, after coming back again yesterday I realized that the food here really just isn't that great anymore. Our first red flag should have been when we came on a Saturday afternoon and there was absolutely no one else inside. This place used to be so busy! When we came we told them we had a party of 9, so they had us sit at one of their larger tables in one of the corners. After about 15 mins of sitting there, we were asked if we could move because the table was only Reserved for larger parties. The table being only for larger parties is not a problem of course, but why have us sit there in the first place then? Also, let's be serious, there was no larger party coming anytime soon! Now the food... it was just a huge disappointment. We ordered 4 bags of seafood in total and each bag was seriously so BLAND. We even let our seafood sit in the bag for a bit hoping it would soak up some of the flavor, but unfortunately there was no flavor to soak up. The potato was also so undercooked that we left it in the bag to hopefully steam some more, but by the end of the meal it was still so hard. I also used to think that this place had the best garlic noodles, but you guessed it, it was also flavorless and lacked the deliciousness it used to have. As you can see in the photo my rice also looked so old and was hard/burnt in some places. The service was also sub-par. For a place that only had less than 5 tables seated, you think the staff would be more attentive, but they were not. Only once did we have someone come by to refill our water the whole time we were there. We even waited around so long for someone to bring the check that we just went up and paid. Won't be coming back anytime soon.

Yelp
Terrible service..... I had came in with my daughter to have a meal the lady that was helping me had a long pony tail older lady mid 40 late 50 ... I was having a hard time to understand what she was saying and was getting frustrated talking to me when taking my order... this is where it all begins..... I was having issues with my card where I had told her if I could run to my car really quick and grab my other card she then follows me and my daughter I put my daughter in the car because it was raining and as I was getting my card she was literally almost inside my car and I had to tell her to give me space ... it made me feel so uncomfortable next thing I know she signed for others to come out and everyone was taking pictures of my car at that moment it I had the most awful feeling and told her that I did not feel comfortable.... I ended up closing the door and left not in intention to leave with out paying but because the way I was treated with my daughter... I was in shock as to what just had happened..... I called the store to speak to a manager I was told there wasn't one I then called another kick n crab to speak with a manager about what just happened because there was no way I was going back after how I was treated. The manager said that store had just had a .. dine n dash this morning and yesterday and that they are just in edge.... I get it but like man really ...I was able to pay over the phone ... overall that has been the worst experience ever I will never go back there ...

Yelp
I've been coming to Kickin Crab for years and used to love it, but my most recent visit was by far the worst service I've ever had at any restaurant. We came in with a party of 8. Drinks and appetizers (Cajun fries, garlic noodles, fish tacos) came out on time and were fine. But after that, things went downhill fast. We waited close to an hour for the rest of our order (combo #1 and a pound of shrimp), with no one checking in on us. During that time, we watched multiple tables who came in after us get served, eat, and leave. My family finished all the appetizers and fish tacos, and still -- nothing. I eventually had to leave the restaurant with my baby to nurse her while the rest of my family stayed behind waiting for the food. By the time our main order finally came out, the experience was already ruined. When the bill came, I was shocked that nothing had been comped -- especially since gratuity was automatically added for our large party. I brought this up at checkout and explained that the unreasonable wait and lack of service made the night very disappointing. The employees apologized, but the way they handled it was unacceptable. One told me, "We apologized and you got your food, what do you want us to do?" Same lady said we waited 20 minutes for it and dined in for a total of 1.5 hours. Another said they couldn't control what the kitchen did. At one point, a staff member even said, I'm only 18 years old, I'm just trying to work and make some money. I'm not gonna compromise my job. That may be true, but as a customer, it's not an excuse for poor service. The restaurant wasn't even that busy. After going back and forth for may be 10 minutes, I asked to speak to a manager. I was told there wasn't one, only an owner, but no one could provide me with the owner's name or number. They said to "call corporate" but didn't have any information for me -- they told me that I can find it myself online. I noticed on the receipt that the servers name said Anthony. Which to my knowledge did not take our order. He was actually the server we had stopped to check in. I approached the staff member a second time to clarify. I asked for her name and she insisted on withholding the info. Had to pry it out of her. The way I was treated made me feel like they thought I was just trying to get out of paying the bill, but it was much more than that. The service, communication, and lack of accountability completely ruined my night. I didn't even get to eat, and while my family eventually did, it was too little too late. After years of being a loyal customer, this was a huge disappointment. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back.

Yelp
Kickin crab has always been my favorite seafood boil restaurant, and I wasn't sure if it was just nostalgia. After trying other spots and eating here again recently, I can confirm its still my favorite! The garlic noodles are the best I've had at a seafood boil, and I swear their pounds are bigger than other places lol. Service was great and friendly, constantly checking in on us throughout the meal. I'm craving a seafood boil again as I type this

Yelp
Came here on a lent Friday evening but the wait time was only about 5 minutes which was great. Service was friendly and attentive, we ordered a combo deal which included king crab with a side of Cajun fries. Everything came out in time, there were many servers around so it was easy to flag them down for any assistance. Overall a good experience! I would recommend this place for any seafood boil lovers!

Hongliang Z.

Yelp
If I could, I would give them negative stars. I spent nearly $30 to buy a pound of crawfish at this restaurant, but the crawfish had no meat at all and were extremely dirty! This was my first visit, and it will also be my last! Doing business like this, you're probably not far from shutting down! DO NOT GO THERE, TRUST ME!

Yelp
The kickin' crab has the best food ambiance and staff. It is very spacious and music is always on point. Food comes out fresh warm and as ordered. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food offered. I can eat here all the time!!

Richard T.

Yelp
Was craving for clams. Ordered 2 lbs to go and was quite disappointed because the clams were not fresh. Couldn't even chew or swallow it. Felt like it was still uncooked or not fresh. Woke up at 1am because of food poisoning!

trinh q.

Yelp
I'm really disappointed with this place. The crawfish weren't fresh; they looked black inside. The flavor was very good and everything else was great, but the crawfish were a huge letdown.
google avatar

Khanh N.

Yelp
I would give 0 star if there is an option. Terrible and false advertise shit! The crawfish and crab is not even fresh. The owner must told the worker to say it fresh when customer ask. Waste my time to come try it. Another stupid is when you pay, the waiter standing next to you looking at how much tip you gonna give. I would give 0 but it's not the worker fault..it's the business fault. I'm pretty sure The owner told them to do these idiot thing. Would never come back. Bye!

Saemyi L.

Yelp
The combo deal is so good! We got 2 lbs of shrimp and 1 lb of crawfish. It was so much food!! We definitely had a lot of leftover we took home. The sauce is so good when you mix it with rice. So I definitely recommend ordering a side of rice. The shrimp was so juicy and had a lot of flavor. The crawfish was good but i hated trying to peel it just to get such a tiny piece. Lol
google avatar

Yelp
Let's start with the great service that you get here, I do appreciate how clean they keep this one. Normally the floors have leftover food underneath the tables or the chairs have greasy hand prints on them. Bathrooms are also managed properly as well. The food seems to be different here (taste so good and full of flavor) The amount you are given is shocking and also appreciated. We did drive 45 mins to check this location out. It was worth the trip and we will be returning. The staff today made our experience very enjoyable. I had encountered each staff member and each encounter was a 10. Everyone seems to enjoy there job and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our time here. Thank you all see you soon.

Yelp
Visited this location with a friend from out of town. This location is for some reason more expensive than surrounding crab boils. The crab we got had barnacles on it. This location does get busy, and the tables are pretty close together. At one point we were waiting for service and looked around and saw 4-5 servers waiting to help which was nice.
google avatar

Yelp
Hey there Party People Had to take a chance on a crab boil as a treat for my amazing God Daughter. I'll be honest I'm not a fish person. The atmosphere of the restaurant had a great vibe and the service was friendly. However there was a very long wait for our food because they were having issues in the kitchen. I was able to get a non fish dish of Garlic noodles. I absolutely loved them I'll tell you no vampire will come within a 100 yards of me for a week. My husband and Bestie got fried shrimp which was very over done and slightly rubbery. My Amazing GodDaughter had King Crab in a bag. After dealing with Cracking the legs with a plastic tool which was not very effective the meat was good and drowned in a buttery sauce. Over all it was OK but if your a true fish lover you may have a different experience. Be kind to one another

Aunnie T.

Yelp
Food was amazing and came out relatively fast. I did not have any stomach issues. I always get weary eating at seafood places because you never know and I'm glad I didn't have any stomach issues. We ordered 2 pounds each of the mild and hot shrimp with rice and corn. Kids had fries and chicken. We came here 8/19 after the 49er bronco game at the Levi stadium. It wasn't packed at all. Service was great and it wasn't full here with customers which I liked especially with little ones and an infant. Ambiance was good with decorations, music, and an area to wash hands after. The 4 stars is because this place does not have a baby changing Station in the bathroom. So it does not cater to families with little ones that needs a changing station to change a diaper. I had to change a diaper and clothing in the restaurant by putting chairs together in a neighboring empty table.
google avatar

Emberly N.

Yelp
TLDR: get Cajun elsewhere. Came on a Saturday night. This place used to be so packed but not anymore - this should've been my first flag. We noticed our clams smelled and tasted off? We were told that this is how they always are (red flag LOL) and we ended up playing clam roulette and would spit out the bad ones :-( those were visibly darker and smaller. We only had a few that didn't open.
google avatar

Yelp
This location has been open for a very long time and I'm glad they're still open and running! Parking might be a little hard when you go on busy nights because it is a smaller plaza w/ a lot of business' and there isn't a lot of parking spots. You cannot use the Jiffy Lube parking spots either after they're closed. So you just have to be patient. But the last two times I went here, it hasn't been super busy, so parking shouldn't be hard to find anymore. Even now, after the pandemic, this place is still one of my favorite spots to go for seafood. My family of four always orders one or two of the Kickin' Combo Meal #1 (All Shrimp 3lbs, that comes with 2 corns, 2 potatoes, and 4 pieces of beef sausage. Kickin' Style which is all their seasoning, Mild for spice level) I definitely recommend the Kickin' Style! Always the go-to! One order of the combo meal #1 already fills up my family of 4, but depending if we're super hungry, we'll order two, but we always have leftovers from the second bag. We ALSO, order their garlic noodles here! It's really good! I definitely recommend it if it's your first time here. You won't regret it! Sodas are refillable and water is free! On busy nights, you have to make sure you go inside to get your name written down on their list. They don't use any online platform for waiting lists...so be attentive when you're waiting because they will just call your name. They used to have signatures all over the walls here which I thought was pretty cool because I thought it fit the ambience of the restaurant & the decor of boat and fishing gear. But they re-painted it so it's all just a clean slate of orange again. They NOW have a QR Code for their menu on a stand by the entrance that you scan before you get seated. The place itself is always clean which is a plus because it shows that they take care of the establishment. The servers are also great here, they're attentive and you can easily ask for things you need! They automatically provide your table with salt and pepper, lemon, and plastic bibs so that the sauces don't get on your clothes. *pro tip* If you don't want that lingering smell of the seasoning sauces on your fingers, you can ask for gloves! After ordering your food, depending on how busy they are, takes about 15-20 minutes to come out. But once you get it, it's fresh and hot and the fun of peeling your own seafood begins! After you're done, they have a wash area in the hallway with two sinks for just your hands and bathrooms that are not gender neutral. (Be careful when you turn on the hot water because the hot water can get really hot quick!) If you don't feel like dining in, you can also do take out over the phone so that your food is ready when you get there to pick it up! Which has been a popular option among many as well if they don't want to dine-in still and they still include everything AND you can ask for the parchment paper to-go as well that goes on your table so you don't have to deal with that mess at home. Haha. Overall, service is great, food is still amazing all throughout the years I've been eating here! So if you're ever craving seafood, this is a place to definitely consider! Great for big parties too! Their combos feed a lot of people!
google avatar

Bethany K.

Yelp
Casual place with good service and good cajun seafood. There is usually plenty of parking available. When you enter, they ask you to scan the QR code and set up the table with bibs, lemons, and napkins. You can ask for gloves to keep your fingers clean. Just a heads up, they charge for water now. We got the combo deal #1 with 2lb shrimp and 1lb clam. It comes with corn, sausage, and potatoes. We got the Kickin sauce which is very flavorful and tasty. Last time we ordered this, the sauce was diluted but it was good today. The garlic noodles here are delicious and pair perfectly with the shrimp.

Yelp
The Kickin Crab | San Jose 1. Cajun Fries ~ crispy fires tossed in Cajun seasoning 2. Garlic Noodles ~ sauteee in garlic butter 3. Shrimp IN a Bag ~ kickin' style, mild 4. Steam Rice Where do I even begin? I've come to terms that cajun seafood is one of my favorite type of foo. Something about eating Cajun food with friends, family, with no plates, no utensils....just your hands, and a bib is a vibe. Anyways, The Kickin' Crab is a local crustacean fun-filed cajun seafood house that serves a wide variety of seafood that's utterly unique and drenched in a combination of spicy, sweet, and tangy flavors. They offer not only just seafood but have items like chicken tenders/soup for those who don't like to get their hands dirty (lame). As always, I gotta start off with cajun fries to prep my belly for their bomb garlic noodles which is a must when ordering food at this place. Each cajun fry is fried and seasoned with their secret cajun seasoning. Once the garlic noodles come in, you already know that you're about to eat good because you can smell the noodles from a far. I know it's a lot of carbs but trust me on this one, you have to get them with your shrimp. Lastly, the shrimp is the main course and be prepared to get a little messy with your hands and mouth because that's what cajun-style seafood is all about. There's no room for judgment or opinions when eating this type of food. You can eat it however you want and whenever you want!

Yelp
The time that we went here was a good time, wasn't too busy so we get to choose to sit at any table we want. I like that the space is clean and spacious. I looked forward to the garlic noodle and shrimp. I was happy with the sauce and that the shrimp were in good size! Their shoestring fries were also great! Was just a little sad because their rice was overcooked, too sticky and watery which kind of saddened the enjoyment of eating it with the seafood. We asked if they had newer rice but didn't. The staff were nice but I think they could be more attentive to us. There weren't a lot of people when we were there yet our drinks were not refilled.

AJ B.

Yelp
We would come here atleast once a month, food was okay enough to keep coming back. Service is usually fast and never had any problems.. until a couple months ago we stopped by with our family.. towards finishing one of our combo bags we found a WASP! Tried not to make a scene by telling our host. She immediately knew what the unwanted object in our bag was and told her manager. We were offered another bag of food. we were not okay with it.. seeing what was in the food made us lose our appetite and felt sick, so eating more of the food was off the table. She took off a few items like a couple orders of rice. I am also a manager at a restaurant and let me tell you.. I might/might not offer to pay the entire bill, but whatever that was contaminated will be off the bill. Disappointed on how they handled the situation.

Yelp
We do not recommend this location. We love crawfish, especially from this spot because their sauce is always on point. Don't come here after the hot weather, because they don't store the food well. Unless you want a scary experience of the taste of rotten food, you shouldn't go here haha. Look for yourself, we provided photos. It wasn't only one crawfish, it was rare to find one good crawfish. It is unfortunate, because we ordered three pounds of crawfish and every- EVERY bite felt like a waste of money. It is disappointing because we only wanted to enjoy crawfish on our anniversary. Now we'll be taking a break from it.

Yelp
It's been a while since I've been to one of these types of places and I forget how fun but also good it can be! One of my girlfriends requested to come to this location as its one of her go-to places when she has friends visiting, and wanted to go there for her birthday celebration. This place doesn't take reservations but it doesn't get too busy even on a Saturday night, so we had no problem walking in and getting a table for 7 people around 5:30pm. The restaurant is also located in a plaza with dedicated parking so it was really easy to park. For our group of 7, we ended up getting sweet potato friends and garlic noodles as appetizers, and a combo 2 and combo 3 which was more than enough food. For our combos, we chose dungeness crab, clams, shrimp, and mussels with the kickin' style. I was surprised by how much food the combos came with. The shrimp and mussels were also pretty plump and meaty which made them really good. I wish there were more corns in the bags (we only had 2 in each bag) but I enjoyed the sausages and corn with the seafood. I would say the dungeness crab ended up being pretty messy or hard to eat with the shell, and next time I might consider getting lobster instead. Overall I had a great time here and the staff were pretty friendly as well. I feel like the price was also pretty reasonable as well so would definitely consider coming back. We ended up taking the leftover seafood and sauce back home and mixing it with rice and that ended up being another solid meal.

Yelp
I came across this place because I tried a boba shop next door and I started craving Cajun after. I checked the reviews and honestly I didn't have such high expectations coming in. I was headed back home and I was not hungry but I wanted to try a Cajun place in SJ before I left. So.. I ordered my Cajun shrimp to go. However, I did dine in to eat half a dozen raw oysters. The restaurant was big, clean and the employees were friendly. I got seated immediately so there was no wait time. I liked how they had a hand washing station near the restrooms so you didn't have to go into the restroom to clean your hands. The music they played were old school love songs but I enjoyed that. That's the music I listen to ! I just didn't think it was typical for a Cajun restaurant but like I said I really liked that. Raw Oysters: They were delicious, fresh and clean ! They provided Tabasco, horse radish and lemons. Very enjoyable ! Cajun shrimp, head on (1lb): Sometimes I have a craving where I just want something to be so spicy that I cry. You know sometimes we just need a good cry.. well let me just tell you... I got exactly what I wanted. I ordered the hottest level which was Spicy Spicy and I was crying my eyes out. Definitely the ugly crying where I have snot running out of my nose. LOL. I'm so glad I did NOT eat this at the restaurant and I ate it at home. Don't get me wrong, even though this was really spicy, it was still VERY enjoyable !! The flavor was delicious! Next time I know now to order the spice level below this. Side note: I really LOVEEEE how they give you soo many lemons. I LOVEEE lemons and most Cajun places will not give me this many lemons unless I ask. So it really makes me happy that they provided this many from the start.

Yelp
After I've tried a couple of other seafood boil restaurants, I would say this is not one of my favorites. I only went here because a friend wanted to go here and it was close to the mall. I usually get shrimp because I feel like it's hard to get a lot of meat out of crab and crabs are always so expensive at these types of restaurants. The shrimp here was somehow unflavorful as if the shrimp didn't absorb all of the sauce. The medium spice actually wasn't that spicy for me nor my boyfriend, who can handle spicy stuff more than me. The only I liked about their sauce was the big chunks of garlic because I absolutely love garlic. The cajun fries were lacking in cajun flavoring and although they give a lot of fries, I wasn't a fan of the shoestring style fries that they do. The service was ok. Our waiter was friendly but it was hard to find him after he dropped off our food and midway eating I needed water. He only stopped by once towards the end of us eating to check in.

Yelp
The king crab here was very good. My first time trying it, the shells are a lot softer than Dungeness crabs. Service was pretty good. I'd come again. A lot of Korean influence on the walls which made the environment more unique.

Yelp
My friend and I came here for dinner on a Friday evening. It wasn't too busy when we arrived and were able to be seated upon arrival. The restaurant itself is a decent sized and decorated with a very obvious sea theme. The parking lot seems small for the restaurant and the other businesses, so I can see parking being an issue. Food: To share, my friend and I ordered the garlic noodles, the cajun fries and the sweet potato fries. All of these are classics for the seafood-in-a-bag type boil places. All the items were good, and I would order them again. I ordered the edamame in lemon pepper sauce with some corn. The edamame was good, and I appreciate an option that doesn't have seafood. My friend ordered the headless shrimp. She enjoyed her dish. I also bought a to-go order of fish & chips as well a tenders for another friends. My friend preferred the tenders over the fish, but that's a personal protein choice. Service: Service was friendly and quick. Our food arrived as they were ready. The seafood and the edamame came out first, followed by the sides. Servers came by often enough to refill waters and such. TL;DR - not a bad seafood boil place. Parking and service may vary when busy.

Yelp
Quality and service has gone way down for awhile now. This used to be my go-to spot but the food quality is poor more often than good. I always struggled with that because the sauce would be so good sometimes and when it's bad, it's REALLY BAD. Well, this visit was just all bad. Our appetizers came out - the fries and calamari. The fries did not taste like cajun because the outside was covered in calamari/tempura batter. As for the calamari, it was mushy on the inside and may have been undercooked. The outside's batter was falling apart/barely there! Probs bc it was on our fries lol. At this rate, we were hoping that the shrimp would save the day but it didn't. It was SO COLD, not warm or even room temp at all. Maybe because the service was slow? It took awhile for us to pay the bill/flag down a server since there's only two of them. Also, they charge 50 cents for water now.. might as well spend the extra $ on a soda.

Yelp
This place serves seafood in a bag so prepared to get messy and use your hands. They have butcher paper on the table and give you a bib and gloves so you can dig in when your food comes. We ordered 2 lbs of the shrimp with the heads on- surprisingly it was flavorful and juicy. The entire experience was messy, but you have to expect that. Service was decent. What I didn't like was when I asked for water they wanted to charge me 50cents for a cup of tap water (not even bottled water)! Seriously! We already ordered a beer and a soda and our meal. It is my expectation at any restaurant that I go to to get water for free unless I am getting bottled water! I am not a cheap person, but I declined just on principle. Totally turned me off and ruined my experience especially since I was sweating from the Cajun sauce. I understand that the business needs to make money, but in my mind, water is an essential for a meal and should be free when you order a meal just like utensils and napkins!

Yelp
I definitely like Boiling Crab more than this place. But if you're in the area and crave some seafood boil- I would recommend! I think it's a good deal to get one of the combos since you get A LOT of food. The combo #1 came with 1lb each of shrimp, crawfish, mussels and with 2 corn and sausages. Was good amount for about 3-4 people. Service could be better though, they were not attentive at all.

Yelp
Friday nights were that busy so our table of 7 was seated immediately even without a reservation. We ordered 2 kickin crab combo #1 with shrimp, crawfish, and clams (kickin style sauce, mild). We also got cajun fries and garlic noodles. The noodles were good with a lot of garlic flavor. The fries were so crispy even after sitting for a while. When our combos came out, we started digging in and it was so good. The mild had a little kick but wasn't that spicy (I have a very low spice tolerance) and the sauce was mildly sweet too so it helped. The clams were nicely cooked but some still had a little grit to it. The shrimp was mildly over cooked though that is to be expected with seafood boils. The crawfish were good (though not worth it in my opinion). Overall these 2 combos and appetizers filled our group of 7 up pretty well. Will definitely come back as the price was very reasonable.

Yelp
Out of all the Cajun boil places, kickin crab is my go to spot. I like their sauce the most and they're one of the only places that offer garlic noodles, and they taste very good. There are times where the shrimp isn't as good, shell sticks to meat, heads are a bit mushy. And because of that inconsistency, that's why they don't get a full 5 stars. Food comes out pretty quick and overall a happy customer.

Yelp
Went to Kickin Crab San Joe for the first time...I've been to another in Orlando so I was aware of their service model. Rather than ordering their bag of boiled seafood, I elected to get appetizers-- I ordered the fish tacos and the gumbo. The fish was solid but pretty much flavorless and the gumbo was okay but not very substantial. ( I expected a bowl rather than a cup). Service was good--the place was empty.

Yelp
Back in Sept we celebrated my boyfriend's birthday here with his fam bam. Never been to this spot and enjoyed it. Even though I didn't really eat the seafood, I did enjoy the garlic noodles and the fried fish tacos. The garlic noodles were delish and it looks like it was good enough to share with 5 people because they placed 5 forks in it. The tacos were good as well. It had a spicy kick to it. We also tried the fried calamari, french fries and sweet potato fries. All were good but we didn't like the butter cream sauce. Overall, good service and food.
