Stopped in after seeing a TikTok about this store…all I have to say is WOW I died and went to heaven! They were cooking something that smelled so incredible, soft jazzy music, blooms that stopped me in my tracks 💚 I will definitely make it my number one stop when I’m in Chicago next time

I’ve known Taryn for years and years and i have had the pleasure of witnessing her grow in her craft. You guys, i can’t say enough- from the presentation to the taste - myself, my husband and children love love love her food (and her). My 6 year old asked me if i could call Chef Taryn and ask her to “make 500 lemon desserts” so she would always have one to eat 😀. Kismet is awesome, the staff is fantastic, the storefront has really great items (i left with 3 candles) and I cant wait to host a party at Kismet. It’s beautiful.

My family and I have been ordering dinners consistently since 2021. We have never had a bad meal. The staff is kind, considerate, and highly skilled! We always recommend to family, friends, and neighbors

Having a meal cooked by Taryn is one of the best treats you can give yourself and those you love. Her dishes are delicious twists on classic recipes made with the freshest ingredients. Every detail is impeccable and carefully considered, she puts her heart and soul into every bite. I’m so grateful that she finally opened The Kismet Kitchen so that all of Chicago can finally get the chance to experience her incredible culinary talents.

Ordered from chef Taryn her creamy, dreamy wild rice and mushroom soup with chicken and a side order of rosemary and oregano focaccia bread with roasted garlic butter. There was not a word uttered between my husband and I as we dove into this sumptuous meal. It was truly lovely. Order...right now...you will not be disappointed! It's a wonderful little indulgence that you will absolutely enjoy. Thank you, Taryn, we will be back.

Taryn, I have heard from everyone who was at our dinner last night and they ALL said it was one of the best meals they ever had. One couple said they are lucky to have traveled the world and dined at the best restaurants, and this dinner was truly exceptional. I couldn’t agree more. Start to finish, it was a wonderful experience, and I hope we get to do many more such dinners - and other occasions (Mark your calendar for February 14, 2020!)

I've wandered into Kismet before, but this was the first time that I actually purchased something. WOW. The chocolate chip cookie is perfection - the perfect balance of chewy and crunchy. We also took home a slice (gigantic slice) of the fresh out of the oven focaccia with thyme and rosemary. This was amazing as well. A little piece warmed up with the garlic butter they gave me - chef's kiss. Kismet gives off cozy vibes. I would love to come back and snag some more of the prepared foods. Also, this is the perfect place to start your holiday shopping.

The takeout food was really good (but pricey!) and the store itself is very cute and curated. However, the owner was very unfriendly and had a major attitude towards me when I was looking to buy additional things. I quickly checked out because it turned me off.

12/10 place! Their menu changes weekly and their premade foods are absolutely swoon worthy. Their storefront is very quaint and always smells amazing upon stepping inside. You can book high tea during the holidays and sometimes cooking classes as well. If you aren't looking for any premade food or cooking classes, they also have a lovely selection of gifts. It's a perfectly curated store with cookbooks, teas, olive oils, and so much more. Stop in, you won't regret it.

I don't know who I think I am reviewing a caterer who Oprah endorses. It would be like doing a YELP review of Lord Buddha's favorite temple or Lord Shiva's favorite dance spot but since none of the three of them are on YELP I'm going with this. Taryn is on the expensive side but commensurate with the area and quality. Gifted chef uses only highest quality of ingredients for truly inventive dishes. Culinary genius. I suspect Oprah had to make a hard choice between Taryn as her private chef and following Weight Watchers. Personally I would not have chosen Weight Watchers but I'm not on television. Taryn's business is new, but she's a chef with a lot of experience. She knows how to put on an elegant meal. I highly recommend her holiday packages (https://kismettable.com/) and if you've got the money or if you really need to impress a special dinner guest like a boss or visiting sheik, set her up for your private event instead of risking your own cooking.
