"Owners Duffy and Sheila Witmer have been running the Kneadery for more than 40 years, and their hard work has made it a local mainstay for a large breakfast to power a day of activity on the slopes. Benedicts, frittatas, waffles, and omelets are the cornerstones of their morning menu, served in a rustic, Western-themed dining room that shows off much of Witmer’s personal Western art collection. The restaurant is open for indoor dining and, weather permitting, front and back patio seating, though there are no heaters or coverings beyond a few small umbrellas. Online ordering for takeout is also an option." - Scott Wink

This has to be one of the best breakfast places in the country. When you walk into this wilderness lodge, you feel like you've gone back in time to the pioneer days. The staff are extremely friendly and there to make sure your experience is perfect. The coffee, what tastes like freshly squeezed OJ, are excellent. There are great choices on menu everywhere, but you have to be curious or a local to know that two of the best items are off the menu. First, biscuits and gravy. I have traveled the country and I would give the Kneadery a strong second in the country. The biscuit is perfect, crusty golden outside, light and fluffy in the middle. The sausage gravy is excellent it's everything you want it to be. Why second, well Josie's in Kentucky has a special kick. The dishes we had were all great. The scrambled eggs were like little pillows. The sausage and bacon were excellent. If you're in Hailey, Kitchum, or Sun Valley, this breakfast isn't to be missed. We went back a second day.

I had the French toast and fresh fruit. The French toast was a little soggy. I added cottage cheese to get some protein. My wife had the avocado toast and cottage cheese. Their wheat/ multigrain bread was very flavorful. The wait staff were great. Full coffee and frequent checks.

The granola was excellent, crystalized sugar on oats, raisins, and nuts. They also had almond milk as an option. The fruit cup was fresh, with strawberries, kiwi, grapes, pineapple, and banana. The pancakes are large (10"), real maple syrup was extra, but about 2oz which was plenty. The hash browns were nice and crispy. The proportions were on point. I disliked the mounted animal heads covering the back wall.

A charming, rustic, "kitchy" Western Cafe with excellent homestyle grub. Servers are young men and women in shape who obviously love the slopes, and our server, Duncan, was no exception. He recommended the Huevos tortilla breakfast for me - a large mound of spicy salsa, jalapenos, and eggs cooked your way, topped with avocado and sour cream and a side of crispy bacon. Scrumptious and definitely enough to share. My husband got a half order of Idaho Rocky Mountain Benedict with rainbow trout and a side of crispy hash browns - delicious and the perfect size for one. Service was great and fast, so you can hit the slopes or wander the town. The Western decor showcased a large buffalo head, a very large moose head, an upside down canoe hanging from the ceiling and a large standing bear to greet you at the door. Prices were very reasonable for this area. Highly recommend.

I sat outside the Kneadery, which has a lovely shaded patio with eight tables and a working fountain in the middle. Today, September 15, was perfect weather for enjoying it. I ordered the special chicken fried steak, which was huge and flavorful. I also had a cup of fruit I was taking home because it was too much food. The total was $30.50, including coffee and orange juice. The service was prompt and excellent. I got coffee right away. The Kneadery serves American food with lots of bread and large plates; I recommend it. Dogs are welcome to the patio.

Google
Little bit of a wait on a busy weekend. But so worth it. Great atmosphere! This place was hopping! My husband got the Cowboy platter and I got the Kneadery 2/2/2… 2 French toast, 2 eggs and 2 bacon. My husband loved his dish- steak and egg combo with hash browns (I learned if you want your hash browns crispy- you have to ask for them to be well done). My French toast was a little dry. I kind of had high expectations and it was meh. I wish I would have tried the pancakes instead or asked for one of each. But it was a fun place and we enjoyed being there! Would recommend!

Google
The food is good. Not amazing. It’s one of those places that charge the price of a small car for eggs and toast…then they give you one slice, cut it in half and call it two. Our server was a nice guy. Atmosphere is cool. Not worth it in the price/value equation.

Google
Great place for breakfast. This place is beautifully decorated. The food was very good. Would recommend eating there

Yelp
You will see this place has high YELP scores and they are totally deserved. You can easily spend a lot of time just looking at all of the interesting pieces of decor in the Restaurant. We ordered the Crab Benedict ( on specialty), Cowboy Benedict and Mama Bear Stack of Blueberry Pancakes. The eggs were cooked to perfection and there was so much crab on the Crab Benedict. The sauce is spicy so if you do not love spicy order it on the side. The blueberry pancakes were good. They have a moderate amount of blueberries, of course I would always love more but not everyone is like me. The last important thing of note is they have large serving sizes so bring an appetite.

Yelp
The Kneadery in Hailey, Idaho is the kind of small-town breakfast spot that makes you wish every town had one just like it. Despite being absolutely packed on a weekend morning, this place runs like a well-oiled machine - the service is friendly, efficient, and makes you feel right at home. I opted for a classic two-egg breakfast, and let me tell you, sometimes simple is simply the best. The eggs were cooked to perfection, the hash browns were crispy and flavorful, and the toast was wonderfully buttery. Nothing fancy, just honest-to-goodness, satisfying breakfast fare. But what really impressed me was how The Kneadery manages to deliver such a high-quality meal with such speed and finesse, even when their dining room is overflowing. The staff clearly has their system down to a science, seamlessly juggling orders and keeping the coffee mugs full. It's the kind of experience that makes you grateful for the little things. And the atmosphere? Warm, welcoming, and with just the right amount of small-town charm. You can tell this place is a beloved institution in Hailey, and it's easy to see why. Whether you're a local or just passing through, The Kneadery is an absolute must-visit. So if you find yourself craving a hearty, perfectly-executed breakfast in the midst of Idaho's stunning natural beauty, make sure to stop by this Hailey hotspot. With its friendly service, delicious food, and good old-fashioned hospitality, The Kneadery earns a resounding 5 stars from this very satisfied customer.

Yelp
The Kneadery fits right in with the vibes of Ketchum. This restaurant feels like a cozy and quaint cabin with lots of delicious comfort food. We were in Ketchum during a wedding weekend and our large group was able to grab breakfast here after a short wait. We were seated inside of their dining area that's all made with wood and even has a big bear statue inside. When the weather is good, they've got a few outdoor tables available as well. We were greeted with great service and filled our table with delicious food. They had all sorts of breakfast and lunch items available and everything was great! They were highly accommodating to both our large party and the different dietary restrictions that people had.

Yelp
Wow! So happy to have found this place for breakfast in town. The food: delicious! We ordered the Reuben with eggs on it, and the Steak Benedict. While the Reuben and curly fries were absolutely delicious, the steak Benedict lacked... steak. I had maybe 1.6 ounces of steak across both bennys. The service: great service. We truly enjoyed the service we received from the minute we walked in to the minute we left. One star is only deducted because one of the guys refilling our coffee mug had splashed coffee over my boyfriend's pants. Not much you can do about that, but it was a bummer. The ambiance: lively, busy, and cozy. Some people were getting ready to ski for the day, and others just wanted a good breakfast in town.

Angel D.

Yelp
Everything about this place is amazing from the ambiance to the wait staff. Ordered the Cuban and as a person who orders Cubans everywhere I can say this was my favorite one EVER. Added a sunny-side-up egg and the homemade bread, combined with the mouthwatering pork tasted so fresh and delicious that I will be eating it again tomorrow. Try this place out and make sure to sit outside! Props to our server John for his friendly and efficient service!

Yelp
YUM!! The Kneadery is a quaint, charming restaurant serving breakfast and lunch in the heart of Ketchum. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals and agreed it was some of the best we had in the area! We began with fresh coffee ($3.75 for unlimited refills), which is restaurant's special breakfast blend. It's rich, bold with a hint of chocolate. With a little cream and sugar, I enjoyed it so much I probably had about three cups. For food, we bellied up to a half order of the aptly named "Famous Kneadery Benedict" (poached eggs with sliced Canadian bacon on a grilled Thomas' English muffin, generously topped with special homemade hollandaise sauce. Served with golden hash browns & choice of toast, $11.75 [$14.75 for a full order]). The entire spread slapped - the hollandaise was delishhh! Buttery, tangy and velvety goodness that intensified the dish's overall delivery. It's no wonder why this dish is so popular! We also ordered the "Ultimate Belgian Waffle" ($10.75) with 4 slices of thick-cut bacon (+$5.50) and 2 eggs scrambled (+$2.25 each). Lord, the waffle was perfectly golden and fluffffffyyy! The bacon was fantastic! - it really was the thick, juicy kind that's actually worth a damn. I found prices to be very reasonable, considering the atmosphere of the entire town. The entire bill before the tip was only ~$41.00. For two very hungry tummies that are used to paying $80+ for a full sized meal in these parts, this is one hell of a steal. Overall, this is a fantastic restaurant. The breakfast is I'll love to come to try their lunch menu! Totally recommend!

Josh S.

Yelp
Probably nothing new to add. Great breakfast/lunch spot. Kids had breakfast for lunch, so did my wife. I had turkey sandwich. Great food, great menu, great service. Definitely has that mountain restaurant vibe covered.

Laura C.

Yelp
Phenomenal waffles! Delicious veggie Benedict! Enjoyed the patio and our servers. Will definitely return when we're in town again.

Rachael F.

Yelp
So yummy. Extensive menu in the heart of town, it was delicious. I loved the little bar they had outside while you wait and the food was hot and plentiful. Good drink selection and queuing process for tables.

Jamieleigh W.

Yelp
They had free powdered sugar brownie bites at the hostess desk and OMG they were so good!!! We waited 15 mins for a party of 5 on a Saturday afternoon. Great service but they ran out of tomato bisque and it was just the best soup ever!!!! I ordered salmon and orzo with soup but I should have just got a giant pot of that soup...

Munzer Q.

Yelp
AS local mokal of Ketchum as it gets. The vibe inside the Kneadry is so mountain like , its amazing. The place is just fantastic to hang at the bar, yes that's right! Inside or on the deck during the summer and spring. The menu has lots to offer delicious items and amazing coffee options. It's a place worth visiting while in Ketchum even if the wait is long sometimes. Enjoy!

Kate R.

Yelp
Don't come here! The wait staff are nice enough. But the manager was very rude when we asked to sit outside, and he told us we could only sit inside. The food was average at best. French toast didn't taste like anything, hash browns were not cooked, breakfast burrito was mainly unseasoned potatoes. Go elsewhere if you want good food and pleasant atmosphere.

Katie D.

Yelp
We had a lovely and delicious breakfast at the Kneadery! I always want both the savory and the sweet for breakfast - today I went for it and got both! The huevos rancheros and some French toast for me! Great ambience, with a giant Moose over our table, and great service. We went when it first opened and when we left at 8:45 on a Saturday, there was about a 20 minute wait.

Caren G.

Yelp
I just want to say The Kneadery is one of my all-time favorite restaurants. I first came here in 1997, and in all the times I've eaten here over the years, I've never been disappointed. It has everything I look for in ambiance, comfort, good food, and friendly people. I've had breakfast in just about every ski town in the western US, none are better than The Kneadery.

Tom O.

Yelp
Always a GREAT place for breakfast always! Enjoy their pancakes, eggs benedict, they serve some of the best bacon you!ll find. Great staff, service, atmosphere! And if you want a bloody mary with breakfast they are happy to accommodate

Anthony L.

Yelp
Our favorite breakfast place in Ketchum. Very nice staff and everything on the menu is delicious. Not easily known but there is a patio at the back of the restarting for nice weather days. Inside looks like an old cabin and compliments the "mountain rustic" food perfectly.

Christopher B.

Yelp
Great spot in town for breakfast. I found the inside a bit dark but we sat outside on the patio so it worked out just fine. The dishes were all good - the bacon fantastic, eggs done as ordered and bread toasted just right. We wished they had more coffee options but no complaints.

Ashley H.

Yelp
The Kneadery was amazing! I ordered the "Eggs Blackstone" and some fresh squeezed orange juice and it was phenomenal! We arrived around 10am and there was a 40 min wait, but it was all worth it! Service with a smile and in top of that, it was affordable. Met a lot of locals who recommended this restaurant and I am so glad we went!

Emmalie G.

Yelp
My family of 6 came here for breakfast our first morning in Sun Valley, and we were so pleased with the food! Everything was amazing. We all ordered different things, and none of us had any complaints. They have a wide selection of both breakfast and lunch items. They even have a mimosa menu and other cocktails to choose from! My boyfriend inhaled his waffle it was so good, and my reuben sandwich with curly fries was to die for! I ordered some hot tea, and they brought out the cutest white teapot with my choice of flavoring. I also had the strawberry lemonade and I loveddddd it. My boyfriend kept stealing sips of it. The service was great, but quick. It was very packed, and they even had a sign on the table that said to keep your dining experience to around 40 minutes to make way for new customers coming in. Basically, get in, eat, and leave. Not the place to sit and converse after your meal. However, we didn't feel rushed at all, and we were there for more than 40 minutes. I definitely think their request for making your experience timely depends greatly on how fast your service was. The ambiance is cute and cozy, like a little country home. It's busy and kinda loud, but it was still great. I really enjoyed this place and will definitely be back!

Caroline P.

Yelp
I see why this is the #1 restaurant in Ketchum, the breakfast we had was so good. Our breakfast was fairly simple (bacon, over easy eggs, blueberry pancakes) but everything was cooked perfectly and clearly made with high quality ingredients. The serving of real maple syrup was nice and generous. Definitely large portions though, I'm glad my partner and I split a breakfast.

Jackie B.

Yelp
This is a must stop! Food was fresh and portions are huge. That blueberry muffin is. Bigger than my hand!

Alexandra C.

Yelp
Great food, great service, it was busy Sunday at 11 and we waited 30 mins but we got in faster! There's no such thing as a bad table in the Kneadery! Classic Ketchum brunch spot. The huevos was a little spicy but delish. Highly recommend this place. They also offer catering for parties!

Jamie S.

Yelp
The Kneadery is a charming breakfast and lunch spot with house made bread and various baked goods. I have to say, I was pretty surprised not to see any biscuits or gravy options on the menu, but we liked what we ended up with. The avocado toast had a generous serving of avocado and the sourdough bread was tart and flavorful. My husband got a half order of eggs Benedict and he was pleased with it. Our food came out almost 5 minutes apart and the old buildings bathroom was not accommodating for diaper changes or more than one person at a time. Fun little spot in Ketchum.

Ryan K.

Yelp
What a great spot for brunch in Ketchum. The vibe is spot on. The decor is nice and rustic. Just wish they had a wood burning fireplace. :) The food was good but a little hit or miss. I got the eggs black stone. It was supposed to have a seasoned and grilled tomato on it. Turned out the tomato was just a slice tomato. So this dish wasn't a 10/10. Nothing bad but not top notch. On the other hand, the chicaquilles or however you spell it were OUT OF THIS WORLD. So much flavor and truly well done. Very impressed. We will be back next time we're in Ketchum. I will get something different than the eggs black stone however.

Julia B.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to go when I visit Sun Valley! The staff is amazing and service is fast. I highly recommend this restaurant and the pancakes.

Omar M.

Yelp
Best breakfast place in town! We always go here and the staff is very friendly. The restaurant has a good vibe and a great ambiance. Must try it!

Carter S.

Yelp
All you need to order is the chocolate milk. This chocolate milk is the best chocolate milk I've ever had by far. The service is also great, and the atmosphere is nice. GET THE CHOCOLATE MILK!

Tom G.

Yelp
Always good but always a bit of a wait. Service is excellent and the breakfast is hard to beat period. I've had most of the menu and all if it's good. Decorations inside totally fit Ketchum.

Candice Estey S.

Yelp
Always busy. Very efficient staff and kitchen. Food is always great. Wonderful selection. A must stop when in Ketchum. A go to place fir my family. Interesting interior decor. So much to see. Great outdoor dining in the perfect summer weather. Enjoy

Julia J.

Yelp
The service wasn't bad. Long wait for mediocre food, I won't be back. The decor is cool and has a western feel to it.

Gayle L.

Yelp
Poor server, poor food and really poor manager..... the customer is definitely 'not always right' and not appreciated.

Eric S.

Yelp
Comfort food for breakfast in a cozy country setting. If you need a spot for breakfast stop in at the Kneadery. Cinnamon French toast, eggs and bacon were the perfect ingredients for my breakfast. Service was quick and our coffee was kept full.

Carey L.

Yelp
Best breakfast in Ketchum and they serve it all day long! This place has friendly staff and a fantastic breakfast menu makes you want to come back every day. The French toast is tasty is delicious and the orange juice is fresh squeezed. The ambiance is the icing on the cake here, with authentic mountain vibes in and outside. Great local spot!

Peggy H.

Yelp
Great friendly staff. The food was terrific. I think it was probably the best eggs Benedict I've ever had.

Sabine C.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast, super cute inside and always feels cozy! Get there early on the weekends for a table! Classic breakfast food and good coffee!

Adam M.

Yelp
This place was awesome. Be prepared to wait for a seat, but it is worth it. The Cuban and the Cobb salad were delicious. Very reasonably priced and the service tried really hard during a busy rush.

Andrew H.

Yelp
Yum yum would go again! Cool atmosphere Good food Great service Hope to visit again

Leslie W.

Yelp
Great breakfast in Ketchum. Seated quickly on a Thursday morning around 8:00. Service was fast and friendly. I had a new take on eggs benedict. Eggs Blackstone. Almost the same but had tomato and chopped bacon with hollandaise on a muffin. Very good. Baldy breakfast was also very good and filling. Very reasonable prices and fun atmosphere. Highly recommend. Coffee is really good too.

Zermin A.

Yelp
Exceptional service Exceptionally great quality food Exceptionally reasonably priced Definitely a local favorite The steak Benedict was so delicious. Love how the jalapeños, steak and avocado combination blend in with those benes The carmalized peach French toast was brilliant! Loved how well the peaches were made. Little too sweet but amazing nonetheless. I would have preferred it with a little less of the cinnamon syrup all over the French toast. It would have allowed me to eat more On whole a great place. I just can't believe the pricing and how great the food was for what we paid! Can't wait to be back! Special shout-out to Stella and Tess, the two sisters who work there that recommended this brilliant place to us!

Ellen D.

Yelp
What a cute place with fun decor. Four of us had breakfast and it was outstanding. I wished I'd been able to eat more as I wanted to try many things. The eggs benedict was perfectly cooked, thick bacon and yummy French Toast. Great coffee. Perfect, friendly service. One of the best breakfasts I've had anywhere in a while.

Michael B.

Yelp
Excellent for breakfast, and worth the wait. Friendly servers and one of the mainstays of Ketchum. I appreciate the small sign on each table reminding patrons that they should try to limit their stay to 45 minutes so that others can enjoy their fine delicacies.

John Y.

Yelp
That was the best breakfast we had in a long time. My wife had the eggs Benedict. She loved them. My Belgian Waffles were out standing. Fast and great service. We'll be back next time we are in Ketchum.

Robin E.

Yelp
Very good food. I had the veggie eggs Benedict and my husband had a Mexican omelet. Somewhat frantic atmosphere on a Sunday morning; employees seemed harried. We had a 45-minute wait at 10:00, but ran over to nearby Starbucks and enjoyed a coffee while we waited.

Andres G.

Yelp
Had the burrito and it was wonderful, wasn't full of "alternative" "heathy" ingredients, but this was not unhealthy and heavy either. I live in Boise and this place is like nothing in Boise. They are good at what they do, and they stay on their lane.

Emmett S.

Yelp
The server was awful. He sat us down, sat two other tables and proceeded to get their order before even asking us if we want anything to drink, ordered coffee and never brought it. Had to stand up and go ask him for the coffee, and got a passive aggression in return. Watched everyone after us get their food, then when I got my food it was looking very skimpy probably cause I asked for the coffee... not once came by to ask if we are doin okay or full up water or coffee. Then when asked to split the bill aggressively crumples up the receipt. I grew up here, and never had such bad service in my life. Food is okay but the service is down right awful. Steer clear of this place.

Devon M.

Yelp
We have been coming to the Kneadery forever and it's such a fanatic institution here in town. The service is always outstanding. We were lucky enough to be able to sit on the outdoor patio this year for a wonderful breakfast al fresco- the chilly morning air and mountain views were awesome. We had some old favorites like chocolate chip pancakes and hash browns and chicken sausage and eggs Benedict, and tried the breakfast burrito for the first time which was outstanding!! We have enjoyed lunch here in the past as well but breakfast is always our go-to when visiting the area.

Jason B.

Yelp
This is where ye need be before noon (or after?) for a killer breakfast in Ketchum. I really appreciated how they have a mask policy and all tables perfectly spaced to maintain distance. Now on to food. There were so many options that caught my eye, but the Cowboy Benny was the choice and I'm glad it was. Beautiful dish, and just the right amount of food. I asked if they would sub Sriracha hollandaise in lieu of the regular hollandaise and they happily obliged. Everything - the eggs and steak - were cooked perfectly. Nice strong house coffee sourced locally from Hailey Coffee Co. sealed the deal. This is my go-to spot for all breakfast related matters for future Ketchum visits.

Bren Z.

Yelp
Great breakfast place, good bloody Mary's and food. Nice outdoor patio in the summer usually busy with a wait but worth it!

Ha B.

Yelp
Best breakfast place in town. Hands down. The omelets are made and cooked to perfection. Will be a must visit in Sun Valley every time I'm there. Gimme more of those omelets plzzzz.

Cassidy M.

Yelp
Great food for brunch. Came here with my boyfriend and we both enjoyed our meals. I have celiac and they have gluten free bread available. Servers were polite, not much chit chat. Has a very locale/cabin/country vibe to it with plenty to look at on the walls. Has a cluttered farmhouse charm almost? Anyway, I would go back.
