"Though Kosher Gourmet is primarily known as a kosher butcher, the market features a large deli case filled with the trimmings needed to make a classic pastrami, corned beef, turkey, or almost any other kind of over-sized, overstuffed sandwich. There are also plenty of pickles and salads to make those sandwiches into a full meal here. Pick up some freshly baked challah, pita, and classic Jewish desserts, too. Kosher Gourmet includes a solid selection of bagels and shelves full of kosher wines from around the world." - Robbie Medwed, Eater Staff

"Kosher Gourmet butcher shop and market is a staple in the Toco Hills community, and it carries a variety of bagels in traditional flavors, including egg, everything, onion, poppy seed, and pumpernickel. Purchase single bagels or bagels by the half and whole dozen here, along with schmears and toppings. Pick up a kosher deli sandwich for later or some fresh-baked challah, too." - Beth McKibben, Molly Harris

"Kosher Gourmet is one of Atlanta’s longest running kosher butchers known for preparing its kosher-certified meats to order. Find fresh and frozen cuts of beef, lamb, chicken, and more here, in addition to kosher wine and kosher staple ingredients. The shop also features a deli counter with freshly made, piled-high sandwiches and traditional sufganiyot during Hanukkah. Kosher Gourmet offers batches and individual sufganiyot for sale in flavors like classic jelly, cookies and cream, s’mores, and rainbow berry. All doughnuts are pareve (dairy-free). Drop by the shop to see what doughnuts are available for Hanukkah." - Robbie Medwed

My company always sends this catered to our hotel because my daughter can’t have dairy. I wish they wouldn’t. There is nothing gourmet about it. The chicken was so dry and chewy it was not edible as it is every time they send it. The lettuce in the salad was brown and wilted. None of the food ever seems fresh. This food is gross.

If you ask for the gefilte fish made in-house, they'll go to the back and come out with a frozen loaf of the best gefilte my family has ever tasted. I'm literally not allowed to host a holiday without it. It's also super convenient because you don't have to cook it - just defrost. They never advertise it nor put it out, and it's like a secret you have to know about to get it. Hopefully I'm not ruining it for myself by sharing the secret with the world.

I come here at least every other week to purchase lamb and veal over the past 7+ years. They meat is excellent and fresh. On occasion I will purchase the chicken salad from the cold case which is good as well along with fresh cookies when they bake them. Now they used to have the Best Brownies ever but stop making them except for catering purposes only. This store has a loving family feel to it and Steve Gilmer is and has always been friendly as well as the rest of the staff down to the butcher. No matter where we move in Georgia I will always come here for my meat. Be Blessed! Toni M Smith

If you return a product the owner will resale it. Stay away from the deli salads and old day meatloaf and chicken that has a possibility to be served to you. Somebody obviously doesn't like to waste food. Do not give your credit card information to them, strangers walk in and out of the office while your information is facing up for quick exposure. Your saved credit card information is only a button on a old file cabinet away from being exposed. The place is too small that many of the food ingredients are placed over the trash can in a gray bucket. Ex: Holiday too many meatballs were given to a customer and she returned them a couple days later. Those same meatballs were given to customers as the employee opposed of Steve's poisoning. Ex: Every Monday there is a program that receives 600 boxes of food but, so what if the fruit or whatever falls on the floor...Do you think Steve will throw it away? Treats the employees like peasants. He even hit me with a notebook one time and caught himself afterwards to ask himself if it's harassment. My brother's didn't like it but, I spared Steve and laughed it off. So many employees want to quit and slap some religion into him. He literally knocked over a big count of food that a chef made out of anger while he was looking for something in the big fridge. He misplaces orders but, yell at everybody but, himself. He supposedly has a bunch of religious rules around the store but, uses profanity. The walls are tacky. Water can literally leave from the kitchen and flow right into the office of the separating wall. I literally went next door to use the restroom when I worked there. Best part...he replaced me while I was ill and having surgery. He never called and checked up on me or anything. I've called and text him. No responses. So, take this up with the Health Department and Georgia Department of Labor very soon. FYI Working - Full Time. Already. Had to explain your evil moment. Then wow. 😋

We recently made a wedding for my daughter and Steve Gilmer, his chef, and the whole catering crew were an absolute joy and pleasure to work with. They were very accommodating to our needs, the food was absolutely delicious and well-presented, and the price was completely reasonable! I was, overall, extremely pleased with our choice and highly recommend them for catering any event.

Today’s hot lunch special was street tacos. We decided to try. Oh Wow!!! They were incredible. The flavors , the textures , the huge portions !! We had the fried fish and the steak tacos. These tacos are the best on the East Coast. Dont miss them the next time they are offered.

I don't eat kosher at all. So when I was in europe, I asked for kosher fresh at Thanksgiving in the commissary citing my gestation status and turkeii into nato status time concept, which the commissary in europe silently very healthy responded to in more than one country.

The food we had from Kosher Gourmet this past Shabbos was amazing. I requested that the chicken and sides be made gluten free and they were happy to accommodate that request. The portions were very generous and I was so excited that the dessert that was sent was gluten free too!! It was quite addictive & I’m embarrassed at how much of the cake I ate myself.

Yelp
Wanted some tasty salads. Got tuna, egg and chopped liver . All were fresh and delicious. Also bought several items from their grocery section ! Excellent store !

Yelp
kinda obsessed with Kosher Gourmet. they are situated in a very good spot on Briarcliff, right next to my son's swim place, Aqua Tots. before class one day we went in, looked around and my 3-year-old grabbed a box of matzoh crackers and said "I want these graham crackers." he tucked them under his arm and kept walking. he was very sure, so I went with it... assuming he'd realize they weren't sweet and I would eat them later. nope. he loved them, and kept eating until they were gone. "we have to go back to the graham cracker store, dad" he kept saying. who am I to burst his bubble? I feel like the selection could be a bit better (David's kosher salt is literally the best in the world and they don't sell it). but man, I can't argue with the "graham cracker" memory we created there.

Yelp
Being from New York eating at a kosher deli was a delightful experience because the food was always fresh and plentiful. My friend and i were in town for a event the day before so on our way back home he wanted to try this deli out (we have absolutely no kosher delis in Augusta at all!). We found it in the Druid Jills area and her ordered the cornbeef with mustard on rye and me the beef pastrami on rye. They give a small pickle and some mustard if you want extra items its a .25 cent charge My sandwich was dry and no flavor at all. Meat was dry and rough. The portions that im used to from a NYC deli were mo way near on this sandwich for $8.99. My mind was thinking what elese could of satisfy me for my money. I always give a place a second chance, so maybe ill give them a chance again

Yelp
While we appreciate a Kosher Thanksgiving meal, this is NOT worth the $35.00 per meal price tag no matter what the Kosher meat costs and what a mashgiach costs to oversee preparations. The portions are skimpy, the piece of pumpkin pie is literally 1.5" wide by 2" long---could they spare it? If you are going to skimp, why skimp on the cheaper items like stuffing and pie? Our second bad experience. We will no longer spend our money here!

Yelp
I stopped in today for their lunch special and OMG best decision I've basically ever made! I showed up just as they were closing the kitchen, but they were SO accommodating and made fresh wings for me as I shopped around. My husband and I are wing fanatics & these definitely take the top spot for the best wings we've every had. Yum! Love kosher gourmet-- they really blow it out of the park with their customer service & welcoming atmosphere!

Yelp
The food to go is ok but a little to pricey, have good products in the store and those prices are ok.

Yelp
Kosher Gourmet is a combination grocery store and deli. This review is for the deli food only. I ordered a corned beef sandwich with mustard on rye and a quart of chicken soup. The sandwich was $8-9 and the soup was $10. I felt the prices were high. The soup contained no chicken whatsoever. I didn't realize I was buying $10 worth of chicken broth with some carrots. The broth was delicious, but I expected more for my money. The corned beef was also very good. However, again I expected more for my money. The sandwich was not big enough to warrant spending $8-9. The sandwich was very dry with what appeared to be a thin layer of French's yellow mustard. I expected something zestier and thicker. The person behind the counter did not ask me what kind of mustard I wanted, so I don't know exactly what kind was used. Overall I was disappointed with my experience and left feeling hungry. My husband and I intended to split the sandwich, but it was not enough food for us. We were further dismayed after discovering the chicken soup was chicken-free. It's a real shame because the most important part of the deli experience, the meat, was quite delicious.

Yelp
Friendly staff, good food. I called to give my order on Sunday morning before I got on the plane, and by the time I got to the hotel around lunchtime, my food had been delivered for me. The salmon was excellent as were the veggie wraps. The peach cobbler that came with the dinners was soo good. I did also get the veggie stir fry which wasn't as good as the salmon or veggie wraps that I got, but still good, and I am giving this place five stars because I was impressed with how helpful the staff were, they made traveling easy for me.

Yelp
Great food and fair prices. Got the corn beef sandwich and ate it they're, and got some chicken and soup to take home. Thanks Steve

Yelp
Since it is hard to find good food like this when you travel, I am grateful for the Kosher Gourmet in Atlanta. Good job guys

Yelp
I came for a two-day conference to GA and ordered Glatt Kosher food from this place. I would NOT suggest anyone to waste a penny in ordering food from The Kosher Gourmet. The quality of my entire order was awful. When placing your order, you will be paying too much for absolutely NOTHING. What a waste of money!!!!!

Yelp
Best Challah Ever its upfront egg challah!! Every Friday I get so excited to step foot into this store. Yes, its small, yes it doesnt have everything I like, and YES its a little pricey- but its a Kosher grocery store- every time I go I feel like I am donating. So ya its a little pricey who cares- its amazing and unique.

Yelp
I am pleasantly surprised! Last night was my wedding reception and I knew I'd have some guests who would need glatt kosher meals. The thing about glatt kosher meals, is you're never really sure what you're getting; it could be a salt lick, it could be dry, or it could be something tasteless. That is certainly NOT the case with the Kosher Gourmet meals. I had one guest who informed me she was teetering between the vegetarian and the kosher meal and bravely chose the latter, and she was glad she did. The meat had flavor and sides were perfect! The meals came sealed in boxes with sealed silverware; I even had a few guests wish they were able to try some. If you are needing glatt kosher meals for an event whether it's one or one hundred I would definitely suggest The Kosher Gourmet! Thank you from the bottom of this Bride's heart and her 7 glatt kosher requesting guests!
